i am combating a jezebel spirit in my wife. She has left me and wants no couseling. i had no choice but to file for divorce. i am hoping for restoration but not optomistic.

You have a rough situation. The Jezebel does not easily come out. She will have to be willing, or deliverance will not occur. If she is leaving you, it is most likely because you are too masculine for her. She needs an Ahab (passive male) partner to dominate, and benefit from. You must be giving her some friction, which is what she really needs spiritually.

1. pray for your wife
2. do not give up, there is always the possibility of deliverance
3. let her go for now, because living with her is turmoil.
4. she will only understand “power and influence” which is what she is seeking. Stay strong in your masculine qualities. Seek backup from others. When you approach her, have your back up with you. Being outnumbered will weaken her.
5. during interactions, use the word of god when speaking with her. constantly remind her what the bible says about the topic. If you do not have a topical bible, get one, or look up topics and scriptures on the internet. Only the holy spirit and the word of God can get to her.
6. realize this will take much time.
7. protect your kids from her. if she is with them, de-program them immediately after she has seen them, to be sure she has not influenced them in any way.

The spirit of Jezebel is so strong in the houses of God today, we are all at risk of her attack, remember this is a spirit and it can attack men as well as women. Jezebel want to totally destroy ministries and marriages. She does not like to listen to those who have rule over her. She often discredit the pastor and his wife, she tries to suduce others into following her. I beleive that God is calling his church to deal with this spirit. Pastors and prayer warriors must be aware of this spirit by studying the word on how to combat this spirit. We can afford to let this spirit take over his people, by the crafty usages of witchcraft. Lord help us. If you ask it is in our church to. I pray that God help us and deliver us from this spirit. So please don’t look at the gender look at the spirit.

You are right. I think this is the predominant problem of today, in and out of the church. You have to be strong and stand up to it. If you try to be too nice, it just takes advantage of you.
You have to be very firm, and assertive, and just tell the person off, in very clear language. Tell them you know what they are, and describe their negative behavior to them. Tell them you do not accept this, and they need to repent or get out of the church. Work in teams for this problem.

If you were really named this by your mom, then maybe it was because she did not know the history of the name.
Being called Jezebel is like being called Hitler.
Since this name may cause you some rejection, and you want friends, I would suggest using a nick name instead.
The name Jesse sounds close to Jezebel, maybe you could use that instead. But it is your choice as to what to do.
It is your name, and you can either use it, keep it, or get rid of it.
