  1. Yes , there are a lot of false prophets. you really have to test the spirits as life and death is in the tongue. What someone tells someone could influence them in a way that is contrary to the word and purpose for some one’s life . I try to always go before the Lord and seek for my own answers about the purpose that God would have me do, better to seek the Lord for yourself and then have 2 or 3 witnesses comfirm it afterwords. However i have had the Lord show me things but it was usually always for uplifting and more for a group. It has not happened a lot . Shalom

  2. To make myself clear and really try to answer the question better. Nice pious appearing and acting people are not always what they appear to be . Nice pious people on the inside can be evil. They could have a demon of religion and could have a demon of false prophecy or a demon spirit of divination. They are called phychics . Or these people could be very good saved people but not mature in the Lord yet and influenced like Peter was by the devil. This kind of person could suggest to you because of the devils influence on his/her mind to do something contrary to God’s will for yourself as when the Lord corrected Peter and said “Get behind me Satin! For you are not mindful of the things of God but the things of men” Also sad to say, some people may know you so well they will tell you what you wont to hear just to have power and control over you. Any time a person does this it sure is not of God but done from ego and by a controling spirit. That is why it is better in my humble opinion to seek the Lord for your direction in life and in all your ways acknowledge him and let the Holy Spirit lead you as you go about the purpose that God has for your life. God says in His word seek ye first the kingdom of Heaven and all things shall be added unto you. Shalom and Blessings
