Angels eat food

Angels can eat food, and mate, apparently, with the bodies they have.

–

The reason I bring this up is because I heard an argument by a Muslim, Deedat, that Jesus could not be divine, because he ate food, and someone divine does not eat food.

Answering who Jesus is, and his divine nature, is a different post!.

This is to focus on whether or not someone from heaven can “eat food” or do anything a human would do in an earthly body.

The bible shows angels can materialize from an invisible form to a visible one, in order to bring a message to man.

Angels often appeared to men, especially in ancient times.

While in a glorified state, there is no need for food.

But it appears that when they are in physical, earthly form, that they can eat, drink, etc. – function – just like a human.

Eating food

  1 And the Lord appeared unto him (Abraham) in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

  2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

  3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:

  5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

  6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.

  7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.

  8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

Angels can apparently mate also, when they materialize.

The bible records the visitation of the fallen angels who mated with human women, producing the nephilim.

Gen 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Some minor wisdom

Debates about scripture usually end up in details. Are they right or wrong?

I watched a video where a pastor failed to answer a Muslim’s challenge questions.

I thought the questions were easy to answer.

It was pathetic to watch the pastor, who had a doctor of divinity degree.

He had an emotional response, instead of an academic one, like he should have.

So what good is his degree, if he does not know enough about his own bible to defend it?

He was not prepared.

Unless we stop depending on teachers and preachers to tell us what to think, and spend time in the Word ourselves, the Word will not really be in us.

In fact, we will only have the thoughts of others.

Our faith, and the salvation of others, may depend on how much “Word” is united with our spirit.

This is Word we dug out ourselves, and digested it as food for our soul.

It is not memorized doctrine from church.

It is something Alive within us.
