Antichrist – who is he? – the secret is in the “mix”

The Antichrist is a fierce end time ruler that leads a Beastly kingdom to control the world, and crush Israel. There are conflicting views about who he is, and what and where the beast is. So what do I say? The secret is in the “mix.”

Symbolic images of the Beast, that supports the Antichrist:

Rev 13:2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

The animals that represent the beast are defined by Daniel:

DAN 7:4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.

DAN 7:5 And behold another beast, a second,  like     to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.

DAN 7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

Summary, so far:

The main body is that of a leopard: this is the revived Grecian empire, which is today the Islamic middle eastern and eastern countries

The feet are that of a bear – this represents the Medo-Persians – today this is Iraq, Iran, Syria, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Russia (south), Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Ubekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan (?), Tajikistan, so the part that “moves” will be this part.

The mouth is that of a winged lion – this represents Babylon, ie Iraq, Iran, Syria, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Georgia, Jordan, Azerbaijan, Armenia (12). The hate speech and condemnation comes from here.

Notice above that almost the same countries are involved for each animal.

Daniel also adds a little more insight about the makeup. The beast is a kingdom, not a person. The antichrist is the head part of this beast. The beast has 10 horns, iron teeth and nails of brass:

Dan 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

DAN 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.

DAN 7:19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

Integrating this with Nebuchadnezzar’s statue in Daniel 2 – the secret is in the “MIX”:

Babylon (Head of Gold); Medo-Persia (Arms & Chest of Silver; Greece (Thighs (from knee to hip) and Belly of Bronze); Rome (Legs of Iron); and future “Rome” mixed with other nations (Feet of Iron & Clay).

This is where some think that the last kingdom is Roman, and not Grecian. But look at this closer.

*** We should see that this kingdom is not European, or purely Roman. If we look today, Europe does not like to fight, even in the war against terrorism, which affects its own safety. Such a passive region is not the belligerent entity, the 4^th Beast.

I admit this part is confusing, but we have to look at all scriptures before we form a conclusion. We have to remember that the maps of the ancient Roman (teeth of iron) and Grecian (nails of brass) territories overlap, to some extent, so this is a mixed kingdom with a new identity. The 2 legs represents 2 of the 4 divisions (legs) of the Grecian territory (which also happens to overlap with Roman land): East (Syria, king of the “North”) and South (Ptolemy/ Egypt, king of the South). This is explained in Daniel 8:21-22, with the vision of the goat and the ram.

I believe the Antichrist comes from the empire of Seleucus II Callinicus, son of the former king of the North (Antiochus II Theos) and the daughter of the King of the South (Ptolemy II Philadelphius). Antiochus IV Epiphanes, a descendant of Seleucus, is the one who performed the first abomination of the Temple in Jerusalem. I would not be surprised if the Antichrist came from this lineage.

*** This is a mixing of North and South. There was another mixing later when Cleopatra (South, Egypt) married the Syrian Ptolemy V Epiphanes (North).

We then have to take the rest of Daniel to see how mixed it is, and who is in it. In Aramaic, the translated word for “mix” is “ARAB.”

The antichrist’s relationship with the saints: he is their enemy

1. He persecutes them

Dan 7:25 And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

2. he destroys them

Dan 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

3. he destroys their city and sanctuary

Dan 9:26 ….and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

4. He forms an alliance with others that allows him to desecrate the temple, and divide the land. There is no mention of a covenant of peace with Israel here, where the rights of the Jews or the sanctity of the Temple is respected.

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

5. He is at war with the saints. He overcomes them.

Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nation

There is no evidence that he forms a peace treaty with Israel, only with others who will support him against Israel. Click here for more

Other descriptions of the Antichrist:

1. He is an egomaniac. Commits blasphemy, and prospers until wrath is complete. (Daniel 12:36)

2. He regards not the god of his fathers (Daniel 12:37-38), he honors the god of fortresses, and a god which his fathers did not know, he shall honor with gold and silver….this means either:

a. he is an atheist, but worships money

b. he is a convert from another religion

c. his parents come from different religions, and he uses the religion of his mother.

d. religious, but his religion is different from ancestors ( pagan or religious)

e. he is into worshipping aliens, which is not too unrealistic, since UFOs are being seen quite frequently now

f. he practices witchcraft

g. he is his own god

3. He shall not regard the desire of women (Daniel 12:37), this means either:

a. he is homosexual

b. he is so obsessed with power, he ignores the women he has.

c. he is heterosexual, but does not care about women, or what they desire, so he abuses them

4. His behavior is a repeat of his earlier forerunner Antiochus, and it seems to be history (Dan 11) repeating itself. The clue that it is a new event, as well as history, is that Jacob’s trouble, which occurs in the “time of the end” follows immediately in the next Chapter (Dan 12),. So, if we look at the history, and then look at modern events, we will find similarities which will help identify the Antichrist.

5. He has issues with both the king of the North (Syria) and the king of the South (Egypt), although he is from the North (Selucid empire). (Daniel 11) This may be why he has to forge a “covenant with many,” in Daniel 7, since he tends to upset other countries.

6. The beast he belongs to has 7 heads and 10 horns, and one of the heads is wounded, but gets healed. (Rev 13 1-3).

I wonder if this wounded head is Iraq, or Afghanistan. The terrorism has been wounded there, but may heal, and go back to terror, when the USA and the Coalition forces leave.

7. He is called an Assyrian

Isa 10:12   Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his WHOLE WORK upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria , and the glory of his high looks.

Isa 14:25   That I will break the Assyrian in MY land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

8. His Location

But remember he is also from the northern portion of the Seleucid empire (Daniel 11), which overlaps the Assyrian region

So, the composite, restricted area, where the antichrist himself would come from, would be between the 2 blue lines on this map in the Seleucid portion:

According to Daniel 8:9 the Antichrist, also called the “little horn,” comes from his location to attack Israel.

Dan 8:9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed (grew) exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant [land].

Since he is moving or growing south-east “toward” Israel, he must be coming from the northwest of Israel. The only one I see northwest of Israel is Turkey. Am I reading this correctly? Even the country of Turkey looks like a head on a beast, and it is the only nation with a “horn.” There is an area on the “head” of the Turkey map that is called the “Golden Horn.”   If I am wrong here, then it is the opposite logic.

The 7 heads (?):

From the combination map- within the blue lines: Syria, east Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, or Iran, Kuwait. (7 heads)

So what about the 10 horns?

From the Selucid map: Syria, east Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Kuwait, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan. (10) ….if I am reading the map correctly.

· Jordan seems to be exempt. Daniel 11:41 says that Edom, Moab, and the people of Ammon escape from his (Antichrist’s – the “Assyrian’s”) hand.

Conclusion:

The Antichrist, according to scripture, is a leader from one of the modern Islamic Arab countries of the revived, ancient, Seleucid (Grecian-Roman) empire, with a following from the surrounding nations, that is forged through a multi-nation alliance (covenant) against Israel. He will be defeated by Jesus at the battle of Armageddon.
