In 1861, after a visit to a Union Army camp, Julia Ward Howe wrote the poem that came to be called “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
It was published in February, 1862, in The Atlantic Monthly.
We have been singing this song ever since!
It still makes us proud, and it still makes us cry from the heart.

The intended purpose for that is to address misinformation and answer peoples’ questions in a direct, straightforward manner. If the government were really set on silencing dissidents, your blog wouldn’t exist.

From what I understand, they are not contacting people to answer their questions. This would be too huge a task. They are making a list of dissidents for some future use.
Yes, my blog still exists. There are others who have been shut down. I can think of 2 sites. I try to stay off political topics, and just stick to the bible stuff. This post originally had to do with showing the strength of the American spirit, which is a positive thing.
Orrrrr they’re making a list of commonly received misconceptions, because Obama seems to be addressing a lot of them in his weekly addresses and at his town hall meetings.
Why would this supposedly secret, all-powerful cabal need you to e-mail them to get your information? It doesn’t make any sense.
I was shocked when I heard about this. It seems Obama and his flock will stop at nothing to have his way, to included making a list of his so called enemies and making attempts to discredit them. And it will get worse I’m sure. Obama’s socialist agenda is sinking its claws into every area of our lives.
But thanks be to God he has provided peace of heart to those that trust in Him.

Those words are very nice and sentimental, but false. God chastens both individuals and nations – and when He does, it changes their spirit. If you doubt what I am saying, then consider Israel – God certainly allowed their spirit to be changed over the 2000 years they wandered the earth. Then consider all the countries that have arose and fallen during that same span of time – HUNDREDS! Because America, and her people, have not repented and departed from their sin we will be judged in God’s time – and it WILL change us.

Remember that America is not a homogeneous group.
I feel there are still enough people in this country that would react to a crisis in a positive manner. Not all are living a life of sin, or rebelling against God. We are just stuck in a country that is like this.
Also, throughout the history of Israel there was always a remnant that stood up for what was right. The spirit of the remnant is one of strength, faith and endurance.
America will eventually fall, as so other countries, because the majority of people sin. We are not unique. Other countries have the same vices.
So the righteous, and unrighteous, will both experience trials, but they will get different judgments.

I see Him leading his beloved ones into places of trial so difficult only a miracle can deliver them.
And through it all, they are becoming wholly dependent on the Lord for everything.
And this is the way of The Lord so you may not perish.
He is preparing us for our journey TOWARDS The Everlasting.
He is preparing us for our flight TOWARDS God.
Amen to that.

In my view this is not only false but speaks of desperate pride and defiance. We will continue our way no matter the costs. What of these attitudes are really counting in God’s eyes? Are they the only one who care for other people?

Marianne, the symbols in the picture resemble the USA as a whole. That means, even the ungodly may associate with that. One should stand up for what it is right not because one is living in a certain country but because one is living his life for Jesus Christ.
The elites in politics are using these sentimental symbols to gear people into a mood of patriotism so that they draw a form of legitimization for their actions from it.

Heads up guys!!! My husband left for court 1/2 hr. ago. He takes the light rail to Jersey City where the court and his offices are. He just called me like a mad man. He told me that when he got to Jersey City outside the light rail station they had the military standing there with their machine guns. He asked them more then once what was going on? Were they getting ready for martial law? None of them told him a thing. He said they looked right through him. He told me to please pass this on to all of you. He will try to find out more when he gets to the court house. It’s coming on and real soon guys. May God have mercy on this country.

Attenuated live virus is supposed to give the greatest immunity. It is called man made because they culture it in the lab, as opposed to finding it live in nature.
But it seems that if the live virus is not attenuated ( weakened with heat) then it will cause the disease, and give no protection.

I read the comments here daily but don’t comment often. Your voice is the one that touches my heart the most as it rings in truth.
I googled Dyncorp, I had never heard of them. It is groups such as this, and Haliburton and others that convince me that the oppression coming in our nation will be cracked down on the left and not the right.
It is clear to me that our nation has long been preparing for internment camps. There is ample evidence of this. Add that to the fact that we have large jail facilities it is an alarming prospect. I know the jails are full but the majority are in for drug offenses and other things so they are not that great a threat to the general public. These inmates could be let out of jail and room for two million ‘prisoners’ could provided. Prisoners of a political, religious and moral nature.
I beleive the scenario to be played out in our nation is this. We have Obama who is on the left. Or at least that is how he acts. We will never get real socialism with Obama because of things like “blue dog” Democrats. (I like socialism and would readily debate that it is a more God glorifying system than capitalism. That is if it was done correctly.) Yet there is a perceived threat to the conservative right. To some extent they are correct that there is a threat. They are concerned the those who are against homosexuality, abortion, socialism and other things they perceive as evil, will be detained. Thus through those such as Palin you will have a mobilization of the right. Regardless of what plays out in the 2012 elections the conservative tide will be rising. This is actually a fascist entity. The fascists will then detain those on the left in the camps already prepared.
I could never see groups such as the military, private contractors, the police, the FBI, the CIA, and others ever enforcing an all out arrest and detainment off the right. If they did so they would be arresting the majority of their own members!
Since the rising tide of the right is fascist the majority of the darker skinned peoples will be at jepordy. There will probably be some loyalty test involved proving fidelity to the right.
Leading up to 2012 tensions will rise in our nation and around the world. The re emergence of Russia as a milatary power will be key. This will lead to a show down in the Middle East. I believe the tribulation will be seven years with two parts interupted by the coming of the two witnesses of Revelation 11. The first part of the tribulation will be one of deciet where Satan and the anti christ will try to upsurp the rightful place of God. After the two witnesses there will be no doubt in anyone’s mind who the true God is. The final part of the tribulation, another three and a half years will be Satan proclaiming himself as God and forcing all to receive the mark of the beast or perish. (Revelation 13:18)
Anyway those are my thoughts for the moment. How anyone can see all those powerful organizations in the United States betraying themeselves is beyond me. Obama may be commander in chief but when push comes to shove we’ll find out who the real masters are.

Rh is just a protein present on the surface of red cells. It is nothing unusual.
We have all sorts of proteins on our cell membranes to enhance cell signaling between the cell and the rest of the body. Rh (-) people just happen to lack this protein.
It is possible during development that certain proteins are just not expressed, so the person is (-) for that protein.
Other people have diseases sometimes, because they are missing certain proteins, but they are still Rh (+).

I am already aware of swine flu vaccine. And now been announced there were 25 dead people who received that vaccine… And guess what’s next ? I don’t understand why people are so hung up on the United States being a “Christian nation.” Do you want it to be a theocracy? Do you want to have a mandated state religion? Doesn’t that deny the personal nature of the God of Christianity?
On top of this, a lot of the founders of our nation weren’t Christian. Thomas Jefferson, for example, was more of a Deist than a traditional Christian. Look at his The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth if you’d like some evidence of that. He basically rejects the divinity of Christ and the authority of Scripture.
Benjamin Franklin did believe in “existence of the Deity; that He made the world, and governed it by His providence; that the most acceptable service of God was the doing good to man; that our souls are immortal; and that all crime will be punished, and virtue rewarded, either here or hereafter,” but opposed religious dogma in general, and salvation and the divinity of Christ in particular.
The phrase “under God” did not appear in the Pledge of Allegiance of the United States until 1954, due to the threat of the dreaded atheist communists.
I hear a lot of people wishing ill upon Obama and his administration. I feel like they’re forgetting that taking over governments is not something Jesus ever tells us to do – he tells us to “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s” (Matthew 22:21). The Bible also tells us to submit to earthly authorities, because they’ve ultimately been established by God (Romans 13:1). Whatever happened to “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44)?

Hi hope you are well. You bring up some good points. This is not a Christian nation nor never was. The genocide of the American indian and the brutal enslavement of the Africans speaks volumes about the true nature of segments of the United States.
Yeah it says in ‘God’ we trust, but does not mention which God they mean.
Also regarding Romans 13 which you have quoted one must read that in context. Note that the original Greek had no chapter numbers or verses numbers. The scripture right before the one you cite is Romans 12:21 which says “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” A very telling statement is it not? Go back also to Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind.” Also go ahead to Romans 13:8 “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who love another has fufilled the law.” Romans 13:10 “Love does no wrong to a neighbor, therefore love is the fufilling of the law.” Thus killing and destroying in warfare is far from Love.
So put it together I come to this conclusion. Honor the government in things Earthly but reserve your true obedience to the Lord. Just like a Christian living in China should not consent to a state mandated abortion, a Christian should not fight in a war of man. There are other scriptures I could site like Mathew 5:44 “Love your enemies.”
Yes we know there will be wars till the end. But the Christian’s warfare is restricted to spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6 and
2 Corinthians 10.

The point about the “Christian nation” – the majority religious preference for the USA for the past 400 years has been Christian, irregardless of what a few others may have been in their philosophical tendencies. In the colonial period, they used the bible as a reader for students, for example. Churches were, and still are, everywhere. Christian values have been the basis for much social legislation.
The political landscape of this country has changed with the influx of unbelievers from other nations, and with the apostasy seen in the church, many leaving Christianity.

The reality is there has never been a Christian nation. Furthermore the United States has been guilty and is guilty of many evil acts collectively as a nation. Calling oneself a Christian does not make one a Christian. Knowing God’s Word and obyeing what it says makes one a Christian.
Yet it is the duty of all who Love Jesus to ensure the government tries to uphold the standards of the Christian faith. That is our patriotic duty as citizens. I would Love to see major changes in this land we live in.

.. because of my hearing impair… they wants 100 percent perfect healthy hearing people.. not deaf people.. That’s why I didn’t join in… except I do appreciate and honor that some of my family were in WW2 and lots of history that I am unaware of except my uncle knew. My sister and brother are now in part of army. I am looking after our mother nowadays and raising my 3 deaf kids also…so I knew God have his reasons.

Change in this country will not come from the top down but from the bottom to up. All these politicians in Washington would love to keep the status quo. Their major concern was to get into the positions that they hold and now their fondest desire is to keep them. It doesn’t matter if they are Democratic or Republican. I will admit that there are minor differences in the two parties but not major ones.
These people in Washington lack back bone and will blow which ever way the wind goes. Right now they get massive contributions from businesses and they have sold their souls to the corporate devils.
If there is ever going to be a change in the way the leadership acts it will be a result of the masses. History proves this. Examine carefully Roosevelt. He was not a liberal by any means. Yet his hand was forced to develop socialist programs. Why? Because if he didn’t there would have been a violent revolution.
What happened when the government announced they were going to bail out the banks? There was great outrage among the people and ninety five percent of the population, according to polls, thought it was a bad move. What happened? Congress delayed their decision on the issue for a week and than passed it.
One of the sickest thing about the bank bail out was that the excutives got their huge bonuses. Here they are bankrupting their companies but then they are rewarded, with tax payer money. Also there was no oversight on how the money was spent.
The government will just be a rubber stamp for the wishes of the big corporations unless the people rise up and make their demands known.
We may have voted for ‘change’ but that is far from enough. And what actually has changed in our country since the election? We have a new lackey with a new look, that it is all. If Obama is a good man and if Obama really wants to help out the people he will never do it without massive support from the common man and woman. We must cry all the louder because the sweet tongue of the devil is so close to the president’s ear that he can hear every faint whisper.
