Is the woman who sits on 7 hills really Rome?

Traditionally, the 7 hills of the book of Revelation are assigned to Rome. So is this the only option?

Recall there are 10 toes in the king’s statue in the book of Daniel.

But 10+ 1 = 11 happens,……then 11-3 = 8, as the 11^th conquers 3, so the numbers change as the prophecy progresses.

The woman in Revelation 17 is riding on the beast. She is NOT the beast. …….The Beast has 10 horns.

It is the woman that sits on the 7 hills, not the beast.

The beast does not sit there on 7 hills, just the woman. The beast and the woman are 2 different things.

The woman is a city that represents the false religious system (Islam), centered in the 7 hill city…..who aligns with the beast (Hashemite kingdom), which is a kingdom, the ancient Grecian empire….now Muslim territory. The woman is called Mystery, Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth.” (Rev. 17:5.) The woman riding on the beast is the mother. The heads of the beast are her offspring (harlots).

Notes about Rome’s 7 seven hills…..why it cannot be Rome…..

The now-famous Vatican Hill (Latin Collis Vaticanus) is northwest of the Tiber and is not one of the Seven Hills of Rome. Likewise, the Pincian Hill (Latin Mons Pincius), to the north, and the Janiculum Hill (Latin Ianiculum), to the west, are not counted among the traditional Seven Hills.

Of the Seven Hills of current Rome, five (Aventine, Caelian, Esquiline, Quirinal and Viminal hills) are populated with monuments, buildings, and parks. The Capitoline now hosts the Municipality of Rome, and the Palatine Hill is an archaeological area. Note that the Vatican hill is not one of the “seven hills” of Rome, as it is located on the opposite side of the river Tiber. So the association of the Roman papacy as the woman is not a strong argument.

City of Amman, which was built on 7 hills like Rome, started its modern history in 1878. Amman is located in a hilly area of north-western Jordan. The city was originally built on seven hills, but it now spans over an area of nineteen hills (each known as a jabal or “mountain”). The main areas of Amman gain their names from the hills and mountains on whose slopes they lie.

The city of Constantinople (now Istanbul) was built on seven hills, after the city of Rome.

Istanbul ,one of the great historical cities of the world, is the only city in the world located upon two continents with one arm reaching out to Asia and the other arm to Europe. The Old City and the New City are separated by the Golden Horn, an inlet of the Bosphorus. It is a natural channel seven km long and is connected by two bridges, the Galata Bridge and Atatürk Bridge.

Istanbul was known as the city on the seven hills. Whether Constantine the Great was actually aware of the fact that the new city was, founded on seven hills remains uncertain.

The seven hills, all located in the area within the walls, first appeared when the valleys of the Golden Horn and the Bosphorus were opened up during the Secondary and Tertiary periods. In the Ottoman, as in the earlier Byzantine period, each hill was surmounted by monumental religious buildings.

The first hill on which the ancient city of Byzantium was founded, begins from Seraglio Point and extends over the whole area containing Hagia Sophia, the Sultan Ahmet Mosque and Topkapi Palace.

On the second hill are to be found the Nuruosmaniye Mosque, Grand Bazaar and cemberlitas. The second hill is divided from the first by a fairly deep valley running from Babiali on the east Eminonu.

The third hill is now occupied by the main buildings of Istanbul University, the Mosque of Beyazit to the south and the Mosque and Complex of Suleymaniye to the north. The southern slopes of the hill descend to Kumkapi and Langa.

The fourth hill on which stood the Church of the Holy Aposties and, subsequently, the Mosque of Mehmet the Conqueror, slopes down rather steeply to the Golden Horn on the north and, rather more gently, to Aksaray on the south.

On the fifth hill we find the Mosque of Sultan Selim. The fifth and the sixth hills are separated by the valley running down on the west to Balat on the shore of the Golden Horn.

On the sixth hill are to be found the districts of Edirnekapi and Ayvansaray Its gentle slopes run out beyond the line of the defense walls.

The seventh hill extends from Aksaray to the city defense walls and the Marmara. It is a broad hill with three summits producing a triangle with apices at Topkapi, Aksaray, and Yedikule.

Istanbul (Constantinople) is located in the golden horn of turkey.

Turkey is the geographical head of the beast. (Babylon is the heart.) (See post on 4^th beast) It has a horn on its head, and is called the Golden Horn. Istanbul is the city of the woman. It is part of both the Roman and Grecian empires.

Recall that the antichrist is sometimes called the “little horn.” (Daniel 8.) A real geographical location, known as the Golden Horn, is identified with, and located at, the city on 7 hills, Istanbul, which is in Turkey, which is the head of the geographical map of the beast (see post about the 4^th beast). This must be more than coincidence.

The woman (city) in Revelation 17 also sits on many waters. Istanbul “sits” on or near the Sea of Marmara, the Golden Horn Rver, the Bosphorus Strait, the Black Sea, the Aegean Sea, the sea of Crete, and the Mediteranean Sea.

Istanbul (Constantinople) also has a history of pagan, Christian and Muslim rule. Constantinople fell to the jihaidists in 1453, ending the Byzantine rule, and Christian saints have been persecuted ever since by Islam. The woman (represents Islam) is described as “drunk with the blood of the saints.”

The woman (city) will persecute the Jews and believers in the end times. She controls the beast by riding it.

Constantinople as a center for Islam is one possibility, for the reasons given above. What do you think?
