Sun Goes down at Noon – Science?

How could that physically happen?

-

And it shall come to pass in that day, says the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day: Amos 8:9

The bible talks about:

distress,

-

the sea and waves roaring (tsunamis),

-

the heavens shaken (what is happening in the sky?),

-

the earth being turned upside down (north and south pole change positions),

-

entire lands wasted and emptied, and utterly spoiled, and

-

burning of the earth.

Luke 21

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Isaiah 24

1 Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty , and makes it waste , and turns it upside down, and scatters abroad the inhabitants thereof

3 The land shall be utterly emptied , and utterly spoiled : for the LORD hath spoken this word.

4 The earth mourns and fades away , the world languishes and fades away , the haughty people of the earth do languish .

5 The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.

6 Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate : therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned , and few men left grapes when the vintage is done .

Is there a physical phenomenon, or a set of them, that could cause all this?

Revelation 8: 7-8, 10-11 speaks of Wormwood and a time when the stars and fire fall.

This reminds one of a comet, or meteor like object, casting debris down to earth.

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

So what kind of object is Wormwood?

Rev 8:14 further describes the event:

And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

It sounds like the closer it gets, the more space it takes up in the sky, and the view of the heavens is blocked.

This could be due to either

(1) it is very large,

(2) it is very close, or

(3) both.

The sun and other heavenly objects are still there. You just cannot see them. It says they are smitten (darkened), not destroyed.

It is hard to imagine an object in space covering up the sun, as large as it is.

But this illusion can occur if something close to the earth is blocking the view. Even the moon can block the view of the sun during a solar eclipse.

Since the view of the sun is different at any time, based on one’s position on the earth, I am assuming that this view is from Jerusalem, Israel.

1/3 stars, sun and moon smitten!

Joel 3:15 The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will no longer shine.

Stars

It is possible for the stars to appear “smitten,” since this happens during each day.

There is so much light from the sun that they “disappear” and then are visible at night after the sun goes down.

Rev 8:12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

How dark is your sky?

The darker the sky, the more stars seen

The lighter the sky, the less stars seen.

But here, it seems to be the opposite.  The stars are not seen because it is dark?

Sun and Moon

Is the 1/3 of the sun and moon smitten because of a forced change in time or rotation of the earth?

This “forced change of time” occurred in the Book of Joshua, to prolong the day, so he could win his battle against the Amorites:

Then spoke Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel….Joshua 10: 12-13

If a 1/3 of the day is lost, then 1/3 of 12 hours is 4 hours, and if 1/3 of the night is lost also, then another 4 hours lost. This is a total of 8 hours lost, or ¼ of a day.

The earth would have to rotate around 60º , in some direction relative to Israel, to do both.

This matches up with the pole shift / gravitational theories below, where a passing object attracts the earth in its path, and “pulls” or “spins” it around as it passes.

From the Middle East perspective, it is also evening, since the sun goes down at noon. So the light is less.

But, how can something that lights up the sky to make the stars disappear make the sun and moon darker?

Theory

If there is an significant sized object passing by the earth, the earth may get pulled around, as well as the moon, and the view of the sun and moon might be eclipsed.

This pulling could either be due to

(1) a gravitational pull, or

(2) a magnetic attraction between the north / south poles of the earth and the south / north poles of the object.

The object would have to be either

1. very large

2. very close

3. or both

Current plausible candidate for this kind of disruption:  Nibiru

Nibiru is said to be a distant star/sun/object that is in our solar system. It rotates through and by earth every 3600 years, and every 7000 years, it cause destruction.

Ancient legends call it the Destroyer, or the Red Kachina.

Here I am not saying the comet Elenin is Nibiru. I really do not know. Some people say it is. If true, we would see something occur this fall, when Elenin passes close to the earth in September and October, 2011.

As Nibiru ( Planet X) would pass by the earth, it would influence earth events.

We are told that we are going to be hit by global earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis and a pole shift. It would be devastating anywhere on a fault line, near a nuclear power plant, and less than 250 miles inland and less than 600ft above sea level.

It is also said that the Annunakis are aliens that live on a planet similar to our Earth called the Homeworld, and this planet rotates around the second sun Vulcan.  They are part of the Nephilim.

Reported history and “facts” about Nibiru

1. Nibiru was first spotted in space on December 30, 1983.

2. Mayans have been one of the greatest astronomers of all time, creating the first accurate calendar and making star charts.  The Mayan Long Calendar has shown that the last day  is December 21, 2012, the day that scientists believe that Nibiru’s effect will affect earth.  The worst will come on Valentine’s Day, 2013.  Nibiru will stop affecting us on July 1, 2014.

3. Hurricanes and winds will be up to 350 mph.  Tsunamis can reach 3 miles high. 

Nibiru is about 50 times bigger than our Earth.  The gravity of it can affect our earth drastically, causing a Pole Shift.

This Pole shift would cause the pull on the earth that would cause the time changes, where ¼ a day would be lost, and the sun could possibly appear to go down at noon.

While I cannot explain how 1/3 of the sun and moon would be smitten, it may be that the destruction on earth by Nibiru would cause so much smoke and fire that the days would be darkened, and the sky would not be clear due to the dark smoke.
