3 Days of Darkness – True and False?

One of the 10 plagues in Egypt, the 3 days of darkness occurred approximately 1446 BC during the reign of Ramses II, which occurred within a week before the Exodus.

Exodus 10:

21 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness spreads over Egypt—darkness that can be felt.”

22 So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days.

23 No one could see anyone else or move about for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.

So from above, we can see characteristics are:

Darkness can be “felt”

3 days –apparently starting during the day

No one could see or move

But believers had light in homes – so that means while Egyptians could not see inside or outside, the believers actually could see, at least inside their homes.

Modern Times

There has been predicted another 3 days of darkness for the near future.

I would assume that if God did it once, He can do it again.

But will this happen?

It is not in the New Testament prophecies, although it might be part of another sign, like the 6^th seal.

However, in the future case, many details and instructions have been added.

How many are reasonable?:

Demons are outside killing people – no evidence of that, unless we are still here for the trumpets, when the pit is open, and demons come out of the pit. The righteous are not appointed to wrath, so we should not be here by then.

AS in any “natural” disaster, the criminal element comes out to steal, kill and destroy.

They might venture out to loot, or witches might go out, thinking this is a good thing for them, when it isn’t.

We will hear people screaming and dying outside, so do not look out or let anyone in. – False. I do not know. Why would people, in general, be outside, when they cannot see where they are going?

Put plastic over your windows and /or close curtains – false. plastic, maybe if there is a nuclear blast, and we need to block nuclear fallout (dust), but otherwise not needed for physical protection. Curtains seem reasonable, just for privacy. Plastic does not stop demons anyhow.

Anoint doors and windows with olive oil to keep demons out– the angels of the Lord encamp about us. They protect us. So, optional. We can plead the blood of Jesus over our homes instead.

Lock doors – reasonable, based on

Isaiah 26: 20 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.

Isaiah 26: 21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

If riots or violence breaks out, do not get involved. This is wisdom. Or, when God is punishing the wicked, stay out of the way.

If a criminal element is out looting, this would make sense.

Do not go outside, or you will die. – not reasonable to expect death. If you go outside, you may not find your way back, or you may encounter criminal activity.

Do not let anyone in as they might be demons disguised as friends or family – this is not reasonable. If your son or daughter wants to come in, they should come in.

Do not go outside to feed animals, or you will die. God will take care of them. Yes and no.

Yes, since many are already outside, there are no “bathroom” issues, and one can give them a 3 day supply of food and water ahead of time.

No, if there are pets inside that need to go outside for a potty break, and then need to come back inside. We should be able to open the door, let them out, and then let them back in, assuming God will guide our little fur babies back to the house. Most pets can see in the dark anyhow.

I do not know how to apply this to pets who need to be walked, as there is no yard fence to contain them. The only other alternative is to let them mess up the home.

Light “blessed candles” which have to be made of pure beeswax. Not reasonable. The Israelites used oil lamps. It seems like if the power goes out, any source of light would be ok. God will allow the righteous to have light inside.

Lay face down on the floor, prostrate and repent of sins. Yes and no. Repentance should be ongoing as we make mistakes. However, we are already forgiven, and covered by the blood of the Lamb of God. For unbelievers, this is a time for repentance as it is a warning.

Pray the rosary – False. Jesus specifically told us to pray to the Father God, in His name. He never instructed us to pray to His mother Mary. While the Our Father is in the rosary, the Hail Mary is 10 times more frequent than the Our Father.

All the wicked will be destroyed in 3 days. When it is over, it will be a be day for the righteous, and there will be peace again over the earth. This is False. The scriptures describe a time of wrath, but it is longer than 3 days. One trumpet alone is 5 months.

True vs False

I learned long ago if ALL parts of a statement is true, then it is TRUE.

And if ANY part of a statement is NOT true, then it is FALSE.

–

From this, I would conclude that, even if the 3 days of darkness does happen, the instructions that come with it are questionable.

Most prophecies I hear intended for saints do not include this anyhow.

Let God guide your thinking.

Pray, and ask what the Lord would have you do.

He is not sending you to hell, if you are saved, and but do not follow man made instructions.

Repent now for your sins, and give your heart to God.

And accept Jesus / Yahshua as your Savior from your sins.
