Covenant With Many and Psalm 83

Covenant may be a war pact between enemies of Israel.

–

Daniel 9:27      King James Version (KJV)

27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Notice above that the covenant is for one week, and in the midst of the week, there is an event.

It does not say that the covenant is broken.

It does not say the covenant is with Israel.

It does not say the covenant is about peace.

In fact, the previous verse says

unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

–

So this covenant does not sound like it is about peace , but destroying Israel.

Psalm 83 also discusses a covenant between enemies of Israel against Israel:

2 For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

3 They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

5 For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:

                **** confederate = בְּרִית

                Berith means covenant, treaty, alliance.

6 The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

7 Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

8 Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot.

Notice who is involved:

The same enemies that exist today.

Thoughts

So many people have been taught that there will be a peace agreement between Israel and the antichrist for 7 years, and the antichrist will break it in the middle of the 7 years.

–

No where in scripture does it say this.

Israel will not have a peace agreement, without HAMAS stopping the violent attacks against it.

And HAMAS has no intention of ceasing attacks.

So the covenant spoken of by Daniel is NOT between HAMAS and Israel.

There have been multiple peace efforts since 1948. Most are continually broken.

Hamas intent is to destroy Israel, not make peace.

It would not stop attacking Israel for 3 1/2 years….. in fact, it cannot stop attacking Israel for 3 ½ days!!!!

Notice also that in the end times the beast will be made up of 10 kingdoms under one king.

"The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. Rev 17:12

Now notice that there are 10 kingdoms mentioned in Psalm 83:

Edom ( Jordan)

Hagarites ( Syria)

Ishmaelite’s (Arabs, Saudi Arabia)

Moabites ( Jordan)

Gebal ( Syria)

Ammon (Jordan)

Amalek ( Egypt)

Philistia (Gaza, HAMAS)

Tyre ( Lebanon)

Assyria ( see map below)

I believe, at this time, that there is nothing new under the sun.

I believe the covenant with many will be an alliance of surrounding Muslim nations against Israel, to destroy it, and help HAMAS take over the land.

Somehow, in the middle of this last week, the effort is successful, and the prince to come overcomes the city of Jerusalem, and stops the sacrifices going on there.

I do not think at this time, that the starting of the sacrifices is done in cooperation with the Muslims. It may be in spite of them.

And then the sacrifices only occur for a short time before they are stopped again.

Maybe this is wrong, but it looks that way now.

No Muslim will want a temple on the temple mount, or near it, or would tolerate animal sacrifices by Jews to Yahweh, instead of Allah.

Also, about the 10 kings and kingdoms.

Some say it is the New World Order dividing up the globe.

But not every nation in the world cares about, or has a hostile relationship with Israel.

The New World Order may be one good interpretation, for other events to take place, but only the 10 kings surrounding Israel will attack her.
