Don’t Whine, Be Grateful

Do you have a lot to complain about?

1Th 5:18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Maybe we are not blessed like we should be because we are not grateful for what we already have.

Food for thought.

Some Jewish wisdom.

Give thanks always

Psa 140:13

Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

Be blessed!

  1. A long time ago I was taught the four gates of speech. I wish I could remember their rightful author, though many may claim to be. When I remember these gates of speech, it pretty much stops the gossip, complaining and blaiming the mindless chatter. I usually get stuck at the third gate, and the fourth gate can be tricky. Before opening one’s mouth to speak, have the words pass through each of these four gates:
    1st Gate: IS IT TRUE?
(Do you personally know it is so?)
    2nd Gate: IS IT KIND?
(Without judgment so another might hear?)
    3rd Gate: IS IT NECESSARY?
(Does it really need to be said?)
4th Gate: IS IT THE RIGHT TIME AND PLACE?
    (Self explanatory.)

Sometimes, having taken the time to go through all four gates, the third one come up again to be reconsidered.
