Face to Face
–
What does it take to get to this point?
–
As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. Psalm 17:15
And the LORD spoke unto Moses face to face, as a man speaks unto his friend. Exd 33:11
When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. Exodus 34:29
_
Most people do not wake up in the morning, or appear after prayer, reflecting the glory and face of God.
Our prayer lives are weak, and our relationship with God cannot be as close as we think it is.
–
Yet most of us are satisfied with “where we are in God.”
–
We are saved, and comfortable, and live good lives, so we will go to heaven.
But will we make a difference for the glory of God on earth?
Most likely not.
We may have a little fruit on the tree, but the tree is not overloaded with fruit.
–
It is amazing, and to our shame, that old testament figures like Moses and David reflected the glory of God in their face at times.
Yet we, who are covered by the blood of Jesus, who are filled with the Holy Spirit, have no such reflection on our countenance.
–
–
To reflect any image, one must be close to the origin of the image.
So, if we do not reflect the image of God, then it means we are too far away.
We do not spend the time, nor we have our minds on God as much as we should.
A 10 minute bible reading each day is beneficial, but is not enough.
–
How do we get closer?
In this very demanding world, we have people, jobs, duties, phone calls, world news, and business, all pulling at us for our attention.
It is really hard to spend enough time with God as we should, to get that closeness we need, not only for ourselves, but to share with others.
–
Many of us have fallen into the “Facebook” trap, and spend too much time there.
We prefer to post trivia and short notes on social media rather than cutting ourselves off from the world, and getting alone with the Lord.
We think we are “being Christians” on Facebook, and sharing bible verses to our own credit, when, in essence, we are actually avoiding God.
We use Facebook as an escape.
It is easier to chat with friends, than to chat with God.
Staying in contact with believers is ok, but it is not necessary to stay on Facebook all day long.
–
We must change our ways, and repent.
Prayerlessness is a sin.
–
When the Lord comes for His Bride, he will recognize her by the fact that she reflects His likeness.
She will shine like Him.
–
–
Do we shine, and reflect the glory of God?
Can people tell when we have been in the presence of the Lord?
Do we radiate holiness, so that unbelievers come to faith?
–
We all have failed and come short of the glory of God.
We must all seek God harder, more often.
–
We must ask, in order to receive.
We must seek, in order to find.
We must knock, and knock and knock, until the door of glory is opened to us.
–
It will be worth it !!!!!!!!
–
–
4"Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!
5"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Deut 6:5
–
The secret is love…….when we love enough, it makes it easy.

I recall only seeing one person, Eddie, who was a pastor who came to our home at Chrismas time many years ago and when I opened the door to receive him, his face shone brightly, I knew then he had been face to face with God and I envyed him. I want this gift, perhaps I will have it someday.

I hope you get your wish….. 🙂
Marianne is correct. Make more time for Him. Keep asking and basking, hey I rhymed, in Him. I fell into the Facebook trap and a dear brother in Ethiopia prayed for and encouraged me to spend more time with the Lord. A great post Marianne. Thank you. DJ….DJ….DJ. it looks like I’m going to have to share with you on this page if that is okay with you. I didn’t forget you buddy and the bronchitis is much better. Forgive me for the wait. Marianne the snow is great. Thanks. Next time.
Marianne,
Very insightful post. You brought up a point I had never thought of before:
“To reflect any image, one must be close to the origin of the image.”
A fairly recent song by Christ August comes to mind- something like “I’m giving my life to the only One who makes the moon reflect the sun.”
We are like the moon reflecting the light of the sun- our in our case The Son of Yahweh, Jesus the Messiah.
hi matthew
yes, we can only be the light in the darkness for others, if we are close enough to God to pick up his light and reflect it back out to the world
Marianne and all,
From the above post:
“Yet we, who are covered by the blood of Jesus, who are filled with the Holy Spirit, have no such reflection on our countenance.”
The Dalai Lama smiles all the time! Yet, he does not have Holy Spirit.
Therefore, this reflection on our face (Christians) is more than showing “happiness” because Dalai’s face is aways “happy”.
This reflection is not a happy, bright smiling face like the Dalai’s.
There is more to this reflection, which is reflecting on us and upon our countenance (Numbers 6:25).
There is an interesting passage from the Apostle John:
“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
If we say we have fellowship with God while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin” (1st John 1:5-7, ESV).
The passage says, “while we walk in darkness”. Humm?
What is this?
“For this command is a lamp, this teaching is a light, and correction and instruction are the way to life” (Proverbs 4:23).
“Come, house of Jacob, and let us walk in the light of the LORD” (Isaiah 2:5).
“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness” (Luke 11:34).
Some Christians are walking in darkness and therefore not able to reflect righteousness, peace, and joy in Holy Spirit (Romans 14:17).
Consider the foolish virgins – those without enough oil (fuel of the Kingdom) in their vessel.
Their lamp (burning with oil) is “the Light”, reflecting upon their faces of the virgins.
The lamp is trimmed, ready and they have oil.
They are all virgins (Christians).
They have oil (Holy Spirit) but it is not enough to keep the lamp projecting light long enough until He comes, because there is still darkness (evil) – it is still night.
So the fuel is more than simply “the Holy Spirit”.
I think a vessel filled is a vessel with the fullness of the Spirit of Truth (John 16:13), which I think is the 7 Spirits of God (Isaiah 11:2).
The will of The Lord is to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).
This is what I think the wise virgin hold in their vessel, capable of shining light, reflecting in their face – a vessel filled completely with the 7 (number of completeness) Spirits of God (Holy Spirit). The fullness is sent to us by the Holy Spirit.
What a “professional opinion on the difference – please read this link.
http://www.derekprince.org/Publisher/File.aspx?id=1000021491
The “Spirit of your Father” and the “Spirit of truth” are the 7 (complete) Spirits of God (Isaiah 11:2, then see Rev. 2:2 and 4:5).
1) The Lord
2) Fear
3) Knowledge
4) Council
5) Might
6) Understanding
7) Wisdom
Jesus told His followers (disciples) that the Spirit of Truth (the fullness of the list above) will come to them. It is the complete, fullness of God in Spirit – given to them by the Holy Spirit.
So now, consider this verse, “Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you” (Ephesians 5:14). Paul is addressing Christians with this statement not unbelievers.
Now, this verse in context –
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children [reflecting God]. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.
For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Therefore do not become partners with them; for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light.
Therefore it says,
‘Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.’
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise [virgins], making the best use of the time, because the days are evil [darkness].
Therefore do not be foolish [virgins], but understand what the will of the Lord is [filled with Holy Spirit, Ephesians 5:18].
And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit [Isaiah 11:2], giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ” (Ephesians 5, ESV).
To reflect the glory of God, which is in the face of Christ, is to walk in the light and be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18) as wise virgins. Then, we will show the fruit of the Spirit and be a light in the darkness until He comes. This reelection is well beyond a Dalai smiling face.
“For God, who said, ‘Light shall shine out of darkness,’ is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:6).
Blessings
Psalm 112
I can see the light of the Lord in many… I have can seen the darkenss in peoples faces that reflect their father satan…
Psalm 112:4
“Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous” (New King James).
112 is another powerful Psalm – trusting folks see the reference to Pharaoh and the Egyptians (aka “the world” and “the enemy”).
Marianne, here it is – Starry Night
nice song.
Magnificant beautiful pictures on the video too….
I don’t expect to be like Him until Heaven. I would like to be but it has not happened…unless I am unaware of it. I believe we are often unaware how we have changed through our lives of prayer and meditating on God. Maybe we are closer than we think.
God has been kind enough to answer prayer with “singularities” over the years….demonstrations that he’s there! So I just have to trust He loves me a lot more than I love Him, and someday I’ll learn to love back better than I do now. It is very important to keep trusting Him even though we do not feel we are as close as we want to be. Our sin nature just stands in the way and it won’t be gone until that blessed day.
And yes, love is the most important thing. Hang on to every scrap of love, which are like the snowflakes falling on the screen you put up, Marianne.
Little messages from Him.
the best we can be is his image.
an image is 2 dimensional form of a 3 dimensional object.
so, at our best, we may look like him, but we are still not him, and are incomplete without him.
was just praying for an encounter with Him today because I desperately want it, this helps me put some things into perspective
Face to Face? Means God spoke to Moshe in clear visions, not in dreams or riddles as the prophets were. Image? Not physical image of likeness were you created, but created with “intellect” ( image ).
God is an invisible spirit…We are the image of God when he indwells us…….God said in Genesis 1-26..And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:…Image and likeness…He shows us what image and likeness means in Genesis 2-7..And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul…. God formed us in his likeness and breaded his spirit into us…His spirit breated into us not only makes us in his image but it also makes us into sons of god..Satan also makes men into his image…He does it through words, lying words as he did to the Adams…They became like satan after they believed his lies… Genesis 3-22..
Genesis 1-26 and3-22 is not only about events in Genesis it is also about end times event whereby men are born again of the word of god and some men are made wice dead via satan’s version of the words of God..They are also indwelled by satan…This is precisely why satan has and is twisting the Bible into lies.
Man alone is endowed, like the creator, with morality, reason and free will. It is in this sense that it is described as man having been created in God’s image and likeness. The breath of the spirit or man’s soul is part of God’s essence as it were. And this is the rational soul that includes intelligence and speech that is above the level of animals.
John 20-22..And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: The breathe of God is what restores men to the image of God and are as sons of God.. There is neither male nor female. all are Christs and Christ is Gods….
Satan and Satan’s children are called sons of perdition…
Eve,
You need to be reminded who you are. You are listening to other voices that are leading you astray, as Satan did in the Garden of Eden. Read the story again for yourself- it’s in the Beginning, in Genesis, the first 3 chapters of the Bible.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; MALE and FEMALE he created them.” [Genesis 1:27]
http://theorchardchristianchurch.blogspot.com/2009/08/words-of-messiah.html
Here is a song that helps me personally connect in worship with the Living God, and also feel His love for me. The words in the video are not perfect- but they are very good. And as a man, a husband, who knows what it is like to struggle for years to find employment, really any honest work to provide for my family, I can relate to the words of Jason Gray, expressing my heart to God.
Remind Me Who I Am by Jason Gray
Matthew
Eve,
You need to be reminded who you are. You are listening to other voices that are leading you astray, as Satan did in the Garden of Eden. Read the story again for yourself- it’s in the Beginning, in Genesis, the first 3 chapters of the Bible.
Are you daft…I posted Jesus’s words only…. You are like the serpent in the garden saying “Has God really said that”… You are also a Biblical ignoramus….
Genesis 1-27..“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; MALE and FEMALE created He them.” God created man in his own image….Man did not retain that image long….After the Adams believed the lies of the serpent, God said…BEHOLD THE MAN HAS BECOME AS ONE OF US IN KNOWING GOOD AND EVIL…Now who taught them good and evil.. Was it not the serpent… The Adams became like the serpent that taught them his versions of good and evil…….This is why man must be born again….When God said LET US MAKE MAN IN OUR IMAGE.. This OTHER IMAGE IS OF SATAN….He foreknew that Adam would lose the image of God and become in the image of satan..He also foreknew that in the end of time Man would be restored to the image of God, born again and some men would be transformed into the image of Satan, twice dead..
But Matthew, you, by your words think you are the perfect likeness and image of God with no need of being reborn….You are probably where you belong in league with the pharisees and their doctrines..The pharisees who had Jesus and most apostles murdered..The pharisees who rejected faith and accepted only the law…The pharisees Jesus called children of Satan…Paul who was once a pharisees converted to Jesus and the pharisees of his day hated Paul and wanted to kill him about like your attitude toward Paul, Matthew
daft adj. 3. Scot. Frolicsome. [OE (Old English) gedaefte, meek.]
I feel like I’m in Merrie Olde England.
I am a knight in shining armor, with my lance in hand, ready to sally forth on my trusty steed and do battle with the evil giant, Boss Paul the Pharisee, to redeem the people of the town from his clutches.
A gracious fair damsel in the square calls out for all to hear, saying that I am “daft” – in other words, meek, yet frolicsome.
Thank you mi lady.
Matthew …..Daft means…
daft/dæft, dɑft/ Show Spelled [daft, dahft] Show IPA
adjective, daft·er, daft·est.
1. senseless, stupid, or foolish.
2. insane; crazy.
not to me, dear damsel – I’m a “knight errant” in Merrie Olde England.
errant adj. 1. Roving, esp in search of adventure: knights errant.
( the #2 and #3 definitions of “errant” don’t apply to me though. I am not in error. God created us male and female.)
We truly do live in a parallel world where satan has counterfeited all of God’s works of creation and his works with man…The tree of knowledge of good and evil was a counterfeit of the tree of life and the transformation of the Adams into a likeness like the serpent-satan was satan’s version of the creation of man…and this counterfeiting continues even now but not for much longer..
God is crushing the serpents head and giving it as spritual food now..This means he is exposing all of satan’s lies from beginning to the end..
Torah ! Torah ! Torah !
“It is written” is one of Satan’s favorite phrases.
He loves to quote “religious writings”, including the Bible, and many others such as the Koran and Book of Mormon.
Saying “it must be true because It is Written” is like saying it must be true because it’s on TV. Or it must be true because Wikipedia said so – nothing against them, but “every matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.”
In the account of the Temptation of Jesus
[Matthew 4:1-11 & Luke 4:1-13]
Satan says; “it is written” and quotes Psalm 91:11-12. Is that really part of the Bible? Yes. It is part of the third, least authoritative category, the Kethubim (Writings or Scripture).
Satan didn’t quote the Torah (the Instruction, Teaching, or Law of Moses) or the Nabi’im (The Prophets). Satan quoted the “Scripture” and said; “it is written.”
http://rediscoveringthebible.com/IntroTheProphets.html
Most of us know that when Satan tempted Jesus 3 times, Jesus responded 3 times with “It is written.” But we never stop to ask the basic questions of an “investigative reporter” like Sid Roth used to do, before he hit the “Big Time.” (That marvelous song and video of my youth by Peter Gabriel just came to mind… sorry, where was I?) Oh yes…
Who, What, Where, When, Why, How?
We just say; “Jesus quoted the Bible.” And we stop thinking.
But what specifically did Jesus quote in the Bible? Paul’s 1st letter to the Corinthians? No, it wasn’t written yet. Proverbs? No. Another part of Psalms, or other Scripture? No.
“Deuteronomy” literally means “second law.” It is the 5th Book of the Torah.
Question: So what specifically did Jesus quote when he said; “it is written”?
Answer: Deuteronomy 8:3, Deuteronomy 6:16, Deuteronomy 6:13
In other words…
Torah ! Torah ! Torah !
what is your point?
you do not believe what is written in the bible? so we cannot quote the bible?
“The Bible” is a collection of 66 Books (or scrolls). It was never considered “One Book” by Jesus or anyone else in the pages of the Bible text itself. It is not one unified voice, with every book, and every verse of every book, being equally authoritative, equally important, or to be interpreted and used in the same way.
The Bible is not like a book of magic spells, where we can cut and paste “sound bites” of certain verses and make them say what we want them to say. That is what Satan did in tempting Jesus, quoting Psalm 91:11-12.
The Orthodox view is that the 4 Gospels, the Testimony of Jesus, are on top. They have priority and authority over all the other books of the Bible. I agree.
Jesus saw the priority of witnessing authority among the books of what we call the “Old Testament” as:
.1) Torah
.2) Prophets
.3) Writings.
I personally see a generally corresponding priority of witnessing authority among the books of what we call the “New Testament” as:
.1) 4 Gospels
.2) Prophecy (Acts & Revelation)
.3) Letters
So a Gospel account of Jesus quoting the Torah is the absolute top level of authority, I believe. It is clearly above the Writings in the Psalms, and clearly above Paul’s Letters, and above all the other letters and Writings too.
I hope this answers your questions- but if not please let me know.
Matthew 4-3..And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
Did satan want Jesus to mke the ten commandments that are written on stone into the bread of life…as Matthew is attempting to do….
The fact that the words IT IS WRITTEN were said by both Jesus and Satan shows clearly that the temptation is a battle over god’s words……
Jesus is God..You cannot tempt God…The temptation of Jesus is the example we are to fallow when we encounter the temptation of Rev 3-9, 10….It is called synagogue of Satan…primarily because Satan is presenting himself as as the same God that is worshipped in a synagogue.. Aka the God of Abraham… His congregation are those who say they are Jews (Israelites) through what they deem the chosen blood line of Ishmael….They are also pseudo Jews because they teach the old covenant laws and ordinances…
Satan can not tempt God…
The temptation of Matthew 4 is like a parable and like prophecy of what we encounter in times end..
Satan said twice IF THOU BE THE SON OF GOD….I think this was said to show us it will be the reborn sons of God who will face the temptation of Rev. 3-9 and 10 and Rev 12 and 13..
When Satan told Jesus to turn stones into bread was he referring to the laws that are written in stone…The ten commandments are not the bread from Heaven…Did not Satan want Jesus to turn these stone commandments into bread????
2 Corinthians 3-3 and 7.. .Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
I am pretty sure turning a stone into bread means more than just the commandments of stone…For instance the Bible speaks of a cornerstone other than Jesus…Mohammed is that cornerstone of
Islam…Muslims try prove Mohammed is who he claimed to be through Bible verses…This is most definitely turning a stone into bread …Jeremiah 51-26. Speaks of this cornerstone…
.Islam teaches old covenant laws and ordinance so the stone temptation applies to them…
The other two temptations of Matthew 4 also can also be applied to Islam..
Matthew 4–5 and 6….Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, .This high place can be likened to the position of Christians in Rev. 12.. The heavenly realm…
V.5..And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. One third of the Christian stars in Rev. 12 are cast down to earth…They have turned their face from God and have dashed their foot against the stone…These have believed the stony doctrines of Islam and their feet have become unclad of the Armour of the preparation of the Gospel of Christ…These have also accepted Mohammed as the corner stone…
The third temptation is so evident today…Satan has promised Muslims the world if they fall down and worship him as the God of Abraham… Jesus told Satan to get thee hence.. I think hence means today…And also told Satan that he must worship God…
Lucifer said he would ascend into the heavens and he did..He is the dragon of revelation 12…Lucifer said he would exalt his throne above the stars of God and he does so in rev. 12..
Lucifer said he would be like the most high and he is dong that..He has declared himself the God of Abraham and he came as a messiah like Jesus, aka Mohammed…
So Matthew when Jesus and satan both said it is written they were referring to the books of Moses… Well then perhaps when satan said turn these stones into bread he means to turn the old covenant laws written on stone into bread… And satans quote about angels guarding lest you dash your foot on the stone commandments… The old coveant laws and ordinances and punishments are rightfully called the ministration of death…Islam teaches old covenant laws and punishments too ..Will mohammed be your long awaited messiah???…
Hi M, great insight and thoughts, timely advice.
If Jesus is not first in your life then do not expect heaven to be your first stop after death. If we have “barriers” in our lives between ourselves and Jesus then the above applies. Many Christians believe that if they “believe in Jesus” they are saved. The truth is, the demons believe in Jesus, they see Him in the spirit world and yet they will not inherit heaven’s realm because they “do not obey!” Remember the old song, most preachers hate to sing, “trust and obey, for there is no other way, than to trust in Jesus and obey.” If anyone is against Israel, God looks at you as a “goat” (Matt 25:31-34). We are in the last days, take good advice, know the Word, including the Old Testament or false preachers will lead you to hell (2 Peter 2:1). Jesus said in John 14:15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. The Holy Spirit is given to those who obey God (Acts 5:32). The Bible explains in a number of Scriptures who will not inherit the Kingdom of God:
Romans 1:18-19; 8:13; 14; 16;
1 Cor 12:14; 3:16-17; 6:9-19; 10:7-8; 15:50; 16:22.
2 Cor 3:14-15; 3:17; 4:3-4.
Galatians 1:9; 3:7; 3:29; 5:16; 6:8.
Ephesians 5:5-6.
Hebrews 6:4-6; 10:26-27.
James 2:17; 2:26; 4:4; 4:6; 4:10; 4:17.
1 Peter 1:16; 5:6-7; 5:8.
1 John 1:9; 1:10; 2:3-6; 2:17; 3:4; 3:6; 3:8; 3:10; 3:16; 3:23-24; 5:3-5; 5:17-18.
Revelations 3:16; 13:8; 14:12; 20:15; 21:7-8.
As we progress in this “end times” period, do not get deceived of an early rapture, as the Christians in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and China are persecuted so will the Christians in the West. You will need a deep faith and trust in the Lord for the coming tribulations. God bless the believers, Amen!
thanks for all those summary scriptures in one spot for your point.
I pray for those who are persecuted…..I do not look forward to my own experience, because no one wants pain.
I pray God’s mercy and protection over all the righteous.
Allen,
Great post.
Amen.
Allan, I also agree- and I appreciate your helpful summary of scriptures too.
Allan, here it is – “Trust and Obey.”
Hey Matthew, blessed thank you. Have not heard that song for a few years. What a blessing. My favorite is “Jerusalem”. I have it on disc by Harry Secombe, excellent. Preachers do not realise it is about where we will live in eternity, in the new Jerusalem. I have seen a church of over 500 crying their hearts out while singing that song but again, that was 20 years ago. Today I get rebuked in asking for it to be sung. I wonder how many preachers will get into heaven or choir masters! Thks again and God bless.
Marianne this is a wonderful website. Did you do this by yourself? I use biblegateway and study the Living Bible using the Reformation Study Bible resource on the right side of the page as I read a chapter first thing every morning. Your resources on the right are so valuable. God bless you sis.
Hi Richard,
I have a “New Geneva Study Bible” TM Copyright 1995 by Foundation for Reformation. (New King James Version)
In their introduction to “The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans,” they write,
QUOTE:
“All the Reformers saw Romans as the God-given key to understanding all Scripture…. From the vantage point given by Romans, the whole landscape of the Bible is open to view, and the relation of the parts to the whole becomes plain.” (pg 1765)
Do you agree with this statement?
God told us in Genesis about the end…
God gave Abraham two promises…One was to make his descendants like the stars of heaven…..And the other to make his descendants as the sand of the sea shore…These are two different promises to be used for identification and number purposes…
Genesis 22:17
That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;..
Essentially this verse means Isaac’s seed would be as the stars of heaven and they would possess the gate(Jesus) through which their enemies must enter to find the real God of Abraham…The descendants of Ishmael are and were the enemies of Isaac’s descendants….
God was not confused when he said thy seed meaning Isaac would possess the gate (meaning Jesus the gate to God) of their enemies meaning Ishmael….
Both sand of the sea shore and stars of heaven are used to denote great numbers of descendants but they also mean more than that..
For instance there is a verse that says the Israelites became as the sand of the sea shore… This was when they fell away from God….Probably in the wilderness when they made the golden calf…Their numbers also greatly decreased then also..
Deut 28-62.And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God..
And so the Israelites became small in number, until Jesus began both converting and adopting those into the Abraham-Ishmael family….
Both of these descendants of Abraham play an intense role during end time events..
Consider these similarities..An angel announced to both Mary and Hagar that they would bear a son and said the names of these sons..
In the process of time both Jesus and Mohammed came out of the Abraham line…Both Mohammed and Jesus came as messiahs, brought a covenant gospel and taught the kingdom of God,.. Aka the prophets, heaven, hell, etc….But only one of these men was the Christ…he other was the pseudo Christ, aka the antichrist…These two groups are identified in the book of Revelation by their identities stars of Heaven and sand of the sea shore…
In Revelation 13-1..John stands on the SAND OF THE SEA SHORE and see a beast rise up out of the sea…This sea of humanity from which the beast arises is identified by John’s words .SAND OF THE SEA SHORE… This beast that rises up is the descendant of Ishmael… Aka Mohammed…..
Revelation 12-1 Identifies the Christians, both the Jewish converts and the adopted ones…….The woman of Rev 12 is the Christian church…Her crown of 12 stars are the Christian congregation, both the wheat and the tares..THESE ARE THE STARS OF HEAVEN of Abraham’-Isaac seed…The dragon and his tail is the other wonder in Heaven.. And as stated they are of thei descendants of Ishmael
These are in the heavenly realm till the dragon and the tares are removed
Hi marrian, i really enjoy reading your site, your messaged are powerful, my life for over 37 years being a hairstylist, i spent it talking to people about our heavenly father and his miracles, i hhave spent my life talking to God, thete isnt a day that goes by Every breath i take is with him. Since 2010 i began my battle with face neck oral cancer with a 25% chance of survival with radical sessions of chemo radiation after surgery 12 days in a coma,2 months in rehab, they couldnt get all the cancer but God put me in remission for medically speaking 2 years november 27 2013. I had several pet scans mri, and several cat scans within a 6 month period i found out that day the results that the tumor cancer came back and now is in my brain and major artery, cannot do any surgery due to the artery, its too big of a risk of leaving me a vegetable and cannot get all the cancer, By not doing anything i have less than 3 months. Now for me i have spent my life serving a powerful God,through my journey i continue to praise my God and speak of his wonders, i believe in his miracles, God is my source and i walk in his light. I am asking for prayer for healing so i may continue to do his will and let this healing be unto his glory, never stop talking to our heavenly father, no one can help you more than our father. I can testify a life time of his wonders praise be unto God. No one can love you the way he can.no one can comfort you the way he can. I will never stop think and talking to him until that day i am with him. I want my story to radiate out, that even in a storm with him you can dance with joy,
dear Diana
You have a wonderful testimony and a serious health issue. I agree with you in prayer for the healing presence of God to descend upon you, and lift you up.
his ways can be open or a mystery. He always has the desire to heal, although there are times he might not, for a reason known only to him.
But we are expected to believe in his promises of healing and provision, and then we let him make the decision as to how and when to heal us.
I pray that it is his will that your situation change in a dramatic way, and that you are able to minister to others who are also in need.
The time is late and the laborers are few….so we hope in a God who allows the laborers to be sustained and healed, so that they can do the work for his kingdom, and give him the glory.
I’ve not heard of many examples of peoples faces shining, however here’s an interesting section in a David Gates video posted on YouTube last month that mentions it. No need to listen to the whole video – you can pick it up at the 1 hour, 16 minute, 45 seconds mark. I think it’s pretty cool!
Psalm 80: “Cause Your face to shine”
“You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim shine forth!
Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, stir up Your strength, and come and save us!
Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!
O Lord God of hosts, how long will You be angry against the prayer of Your people? You have fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in great measure. You have made us a strife to our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.
Restore us, O God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved!
…Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts; Look down from heaven and see, and visit this vine and the vineyard which Your right hand has planted, and the branch that You made strong for Yourself. It is burned with fire, it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.
Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself. Then we will not turn back from You; revive us, and we will call upon Your name.
Restore us, O Lord God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, and we shall be saved” (English Standard Version).

Psalm 112

Matthew
Genesis 2-18…And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
If God said it is not good, man must have been a terrible mess and so god made him a help meet to try to train him. and straighten him out…….God was also wise enough to take the woman out of the man’s flesh because he knew man was so in love with himself he could not love another unless she was part of him… When the serpent told the Adam’s he would be as god, adam believed it and still does…Real Christian men exempt…
e1313, I will give you latitude and suggest you are baiting and joking at us men, if so, I enjoy your humor, it goes both ways! If not humor then I would suggest you are a feminist, then, God help you!
You take Genesis 1:18 out of context, Adam was alone and God/Jesus decided to give him a partner. Adam was a humble man before God.
Who sinned 1st, my Bible said it was Eve! Remember Jezebel? Let me stop here, those who laugh last have the greatest laugh. God bless those who have humor.
Allen, you missed the last sentence…It says real Christian men exempt….I am not a feminist….I am also not blind and can see that in the past many men have not been exactly good…For instance how many women Hitlers were there….Whereas in the past most women were mothers and decent…Feminist have almost destroyed society…
As for Eve being the first to sin… She did, but the Bible says Eve was deceived but it apears the man deliberately and willfully sinned against God..Which is worse????
I was really just harassing Matthew…..It makes me angry when people lie about the Bible…I really should just pray about it, not be angry.
Ok, sorry, just stay on the (Christian) horse. A true believer should be like Jesus or striving to be like Jesus, not easy in these days of increased testing. If believers followed what the Bible told us the church would be Christ-perfect. But there is where the problem starts. How many believers marry fellow believers? You can take a horse to water but you can not force the horse to drink. God bless.
Didn’t God give moses the ten commandments AFTER the Israelites made the golden calf???? Or while he was off getting the ten commandments… Whatever God knew what they were doing..
Hi e1313, I am trying to figure out what your point is in this writing? As I understand the Word, Moses was conversing with God while the rebels made a calf and it was only after God gave the two slabs of stone with the 10 commandments to Moses that He told Moses to go down and sort the rabble out. God left before His anger destroyed the Jews.
God bless the discerners.
FROM GLORY to GLORY
by David Wilkerson
Paul speaks of a ministry that every Christian is called to, one that
does not require particular gifts or talents. It is to be undertaken
by all who have been born again, both recognized ministers and
laypersons. In fact, this ministry is every believer’s first calling
and all other endeavors must flow out of it.
No ministry can be pleasing to God unless it is birthed out of this
calling. I am talking about the ministry of beholding the face of
Christ. Paul says, “We all, with open face beholding as in a glass
the glory of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
What does it mean to behold the Lord’s glory? Paul is speaking
of devoted, focused worship. It is time that is given to God simply
to behold Him. And the apostle quickly adds, “Therefore seeing
we have this ministry” (4:1). Paul makes it clear that beholding
the face of Christ is a ministry we all must devote ourselves to.
The Greek word for beholding in this verse is a very strong
expression. It indicates not just taking a look, but “fixing the gaze.”
It means deciding, “I won’t move from this position. Before I do
anything else, before I try to accomplish a single thing, I must be
in God’s presence.”
Many Christians misinterpret the phrase “beholding as in a glass”
(3:18). They think of a mirror, with Jesus’ face being reflected back
to them. But that is not Paul’s meaning here. He is speaking of
an intensely focused gaze, as if peering at something earnestly
through a glass, trying to see it more clearly. We are to “fix our
eyes” this way, determined to see God’s glory in the face of
Christ. We are to shut ourselves in the holy of holies, with but
one obsession: to gaze so intently, and to commune with such
devotion, that we are changed.
Paul says the person who is shut in with Christ, beholding Him,
is being transfigured. What happens as a believer beholds the
face of Christ? Paul writes, “We all, with open face beholding as
in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image
from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Psalm 27
Hi DJ,
Thanks for posting this. A good and needful word from David Wilkerson.
Al,
Would you please read this passages and if you are willing, address my request.
“And Hashem said unto Moshe, Stretch out thine yad toward Shomayim, that there may be choshech over Eretz Mitzrayim, even choshech which he can feel.
And Moshe stretched forth his yad toward Shomayim; and there was a thick choshech in kol Eretz Mitzrayim shloshet yamim; They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for shloshet yamim; but kol Bnei Yisroel had Ohr in their dwellings” (Exodus 10:21-23, OJB).
I ask that you, by simply reading the text, exploring the Hebrew words and concepts associated with those words found in the Scriptures (OT and NT), share with me (and anyone else reading this thread), what you come to understand.
It is important to read the Hebrew text (word/concept) and ignore the “King James” translations and/or the “Western, contemporary or modern” interpretation of this passage.
I’ve taken this approach and want to “see” what you find.
This is a serious/urgent request, asking that you consider the above over other Heaven Await topics and replies, because “time is short and the night is nearly over…”

Isaiah 9:2, 6-7
HINEH LO YANUM : HINE LO YANUM VELO YISHAN : BEHOLD HE WILL NOT SLUMBER
Al,
nice song- even though I don’t know any words there except “Israel”, there is a quality of peaceful worship. It sort of sounds familiar somehow. It reminds me of Christine Jackman – she has a number of good video songs on Youtube sort of similar to this, but with many there is English translation printed too.
Hey DJ,
I just found your request. I will get back with you as quickly as I can. Some things can’t be hurried, but I will be as timely as possible!
Shalom my Brother

Deut 29-30…And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law……(.curses spelled alah…means Allah)
Verse 20…and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven. …
Ephesians 2-15…Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
Your choice, the book of the law, ordinances and curses and being written out of god’s book or Jesus and faith…
e1313ruth,
I’m okay, don’t be concerned at all about my name in the book of life. It is about a relationship with my Savior and Lord (the Word made flesh), keeping my life open like the show bread on the table in the Temple. He is my High Priest. Almighty God is my Heavenly Father, thank you Lord. The Holy Spirit is my counselor and guide, leading me home. Thank you Lord for sending Holy Spirit.
The verses that concerns mare Matthew 24,
“…Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’
“His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
“‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'”
Matthew chapter 7:
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
Folks think there is eternal security? Once saved, always saved? He is the way, the truth and the life. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness is our call. I suggest reading 1st John.
http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20John%201&version=ESV
I’m concerned for those souls who need to hear the messages in the above passages, praying they come to accept Him as both Savior and Lord of their life. It’s about relationship with Him and being a wise virgin (Matthew 25).
This passage in Revelation 22 is concerning too. “Blessed are those who do His commandments….”
“Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie…
For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
What about those who add to prophecy of Revelation receiving the plagues – that should move them to repent. One of those additions is “pre-trib rapture”. I pray the plague is removed quickly upon repentance.
Those that take away from the words (“oh this is just imagery – there is no plagues or judgements going to fall upon humanity”), I pray they can repent and be forgiven before death. Mercy.
Blessings
Psalm 91
Jesus said:
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them…” [Matthew 5:17]
Jesus replied: “’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these TWO commandments.” [Matthew 22:36-40, Deuteronomy 6:5, Leviticus 19:18]
Revelation 3- 10, 9..Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. V. 9..Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
We are now in the hour of temptation…The synagogue of Satan is called synagogue because Satan and his gang are claiming they are the real Jew,s/chosen ones…It is called synagogue because Satan is claiming he is the God of Abraham that is worshipped in a synagogue…It is called synagogue because Satan’s doctrine is identical to old covenant Moses laws and ordinances. Which bring curses and death if not kept entirety….This doctrine is how God writes men out of HIS BOOK…
And it is how god writes men’s names in the earth….
Jeremiah 17-13…O LORD, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living waters. ..
Jesus showed us in John 8
..4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
It is a pretty safe bet that Jesus wrote their NAMES in the earth….twice dead…
Matthew 23-15 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves…..twice dead…second death…
The Bible is not “A Book”.
It was not given that way.
Neither Jesus nor anyone else in it’s pages ever said or implied that “all Scripture” was equally authoritative or equally important or equally valid or equally true or equally in harmony with every other part (except maybe Paul the Pharisee.)
The Bible is a collection of 66 Books of various types and various authority levels and styles, given by approximately 40 authors across different languages and cultures over many hundreds of years. Narratives, Teachings, Songs, Law, Prophecy, personal testimonies, opinions, feelings and experience, etc.
In the Orthodox view, the 4 Gospels are on top.
Because, Jesus is on top. (Jesus words and actions)
Where Paul or other authors disagreed with Jesus they were wrong and
Jesus was right ! The Bible is not God- Jesus is God, the Jesus of the Bible, and He is not dead, He is alive today too!
JESUS IS THAT SPIRT THAT INDWELLED ALL THE PROPHETS INCLUDING NEW TESTAMENT and wrote through them..
1 Peter 1-11…Searching what, or what manner of time……… the Spirit of Christ which was in them …..did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
about the books….This is Moses book of the law and ordinances whereby men ‘s names are are blotted out from heaven..
Deut 29-20…The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the CURSES THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
Deut 29-21…And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the CURSES OF THE COVENANT THAT ARE WRITTEN IN THIS BOOK OF THE LAW….
THIS BOOK IS THE BOOK OF LIFE..
Rev. 3-5..He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Phl 4-3..And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the BOOK of life.
Rev. 13-8..And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the BOOK of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Rev. 17-8..The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the BOOK of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Al,
You got that right. Thanks.
DJ,
There is much that can be said concerning Exodus 10:21-23=The Three Days of Darkness. It is relevant for our day considering we are on the cusp of the Greater Exodus, which will parallel the Egyptian Exodus. I do believe that the 3 days of darkness in the Egyptian Exodus will equate to the 5 months of darkness at the end of time. Whether it plays out exactly like the Exodus from Egypt, we will just have to wait and see.
Exodus 10:21-23
21″ ADONAI said to Moshe, “Reach out your hand toward the sky, and there will be darkness over the land of Egypt, darkness so thick it can be felt!” 22 Moshe reached out his hand toward the sky, and there was a thick darkness in the entire land of Egypt for three days. 23 People couldn’t see each other, and no one went anywhere for three days. The dark was such that it could be felt. But all the people of Isra’el had light in their homes.”
The [darkness]* was so thick in Egypt that it could be felt by “all”, the only exception being those of “Israel”, understanding that there is a difference between being Hebrew by ethnicity (Jacob) and those who follow the ways of Yah (Israel)= those who have wrestled with Yah and prevailed. This is a subtle statement, but has everything to do with who we are in Messiah, which by extension has everything to do with who we are in the Kingdom.
*2822 choshek kho-shek’ from 2821; the dark; hence (literally) darkness; (figuratively) misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness:–dark(-ness), night, obscurity.
There was complete darkness in the natural realm, but also, gross darkness in the spiritual realm. Imagine, a “darkness” of the soul, so black and pervasive that it brings misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness, with no light whatsoever, and is debilitating to the extent that it is literally felt, leaving that person unable to function, with many succumbing to death! So lost in agony, it is as if they were the only one on the earth. No human comfort=totally alone with their wretchedness with no help; cut off from Yah and man.
I have read and written previously, that only about 20% of Israel left Egypt with Moses. The ancient Rabbis say that 80% of the Hebrews were into the culture and idolatry of Egypt (the paganism of the world). They (the Rabbis) state that these Hebrews, during the 3 days of darkness, being steeped in idolatry, with the Word of Yah being made of no affect in them, perished during those 3 days, thus concealing their (the Hebrews) demise from the Egyptians (those of the world).
The following Rabbis wrote of the 9th Plague of Darkness in Egypt and what transpired there:
RAbbi SHlomo Itzhaki=Rashi 1040-1105
Rabbeinu Mosheh Ben Maimon= RaMBaM 1135-1204
The Rabbis wrote that during the darkness, those of Israel who had the LIGHT were able to move around undetected by the Egyptians, which shows that the light was within them. The Israelites, in the cover of darkness, hidden from the Egyptians eyes, buried their dead without the Egyptians aware of the fact that the Elohim of Yisrael had destroyed so many of the Hebrews. The light in the homes of the Israelites came directly from the people of Israel. The light did not originate in their homes. The light was rather contained in the people and gave them vision to function in the “gross and complete darkness” (the evil of their day). Light =The Word=Torah=Messiah. Even though Torah had not been given yet at Sinai, and the people had endured 400+ years in bondage, a “remnant” came out into the refining fire of the desert, to eradicate all those years of paganism in the anti-Torah-Word culture they had been held captive in. So shall it be in our day, at the end of time during the Greater Exodus.
What then was the “light” that the people of Israel had?
Isaiah 45:5-7
5 I am ADONAI; there is no other; besides me there is no God. I am arming you, although you don’t know me,6 so that those from the east and those from the west will know that there is none besides me —I am ADONAI; there is no other.7 I form light, I create darkness; I make well-being, I create woe; I, ADONAI, do all these things.
For the commandment is a lamp; and the Torah is light…(Prov. 6:23)
Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path. (Psalm 119:105) Think 5 wise virgins
To the Torah and to the testimony; if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. (Isaiah 8:20)
for a Torah shall proceed from me, and I will make my judgement to rest for a light of the people. (Isaiah 51:4)
Aramaic Bible in Plain English
And Yeshua spoke again with them and he said: “I AM THE LIVING GOD, The Light of the world. Whoever follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall find the light of life.”
Messiah Yahshua, who is the right hand of Yah, has been here since the beginning. He is eternal, without beginning and without end. He was the Angel of Yah who spoke to Abraham; He was the light with the children of Israel on the 3 days of darkness, He was the lawgiver at Sinai, ………! When the Word says He (Yahshua) is the right hand or arm of Yah, He is the one speaking with Adam and Eve; He is the One interacting with man. Everyone seems so confused about all of this, to the extent that most believe He (Yahshua) only arrived on the scene 2000 years ago. One word for the description of darkness from above is “ignorance” and “obscurity”. Most everyone in the Christian Church is reading from Matthew to the right (Renewed Covenant) and using that to explain from Matthew to the left (Tanakh). And if the truth be known, they basically use the writings of Paul, which they totally misunderstand, and interpret incorrectly to their own destruction. The Christian Church cannot interpret Paul correctly with their Greek understanding, which comes from their Greek writings, even as the Orthodox Jews needs the light (understanding) of the Renewed Covenant.
Could it be, the Father in His wisdom and foreknowledge, has hidden His “full” truth, to allow those of Israel, both Ephraim and Judah, to grow apart, for the purpose of bringing them together at the end? All the while, the truth was and is fully contained in His Word=Torah=Messiah, from the beginning, but shrouded by a thick darkness (evi heart of man-even in those who claim His name) that the eye of man could not penetrate, being reserved for those who in the end have the light=Messiah +Torah=His Word; the truth not coming from the mind or the will of man, but rather by revelation from Ruach HaKodesh for the purifying of His people for entry into the Kingdom of Messiah!
Tell me what you have seen in these verses. Look forward to your response.
Shalom my Brother
Hi Al
You said, QUOTE:
“Most everyone in the Christian Church is reading from Matthew to the right (Renewed Covenant) and using that to explain from Matthew to the left (Tanakh). And if the truth be known, they basically use the writings of Paul, which they totally misunderstand, and interpret incorrectly to their own destruction. ”
For some, blindly following Paul alone, and making the voice of Paul override all other voices in the Bible, is unconscious. They are not aware they are doing this. They believe, without examination or consideration, Paul is the only man in all history whose testimony stands alone, without any other witnesses – just the same stronghold that Satan has in Islam through the writings of Muhammad.
For others, such as “Reformed Theologians”, this exaltation of Paul is more in the open and affirmed directly.
Here is a quote from the study notes introducing “The Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Romans” in the New Geneva Study Bible, New King James Version pg. 1765.
“All the Reformers saw Romans as the God-given key to understanding all Scripture…..
From the vantage point of Romans, the whole landscape of the Bible is open to view, and the relation of the parts to the whole becomes plain. The study of Romans is vitally necessary for the spiritual health and insight of the Christian.”
So “The Reformers” openly think that we SHOULD interpret all the rest of the Bible through the writings of Paul – specifically Romans. There you have “Replacement Theology.” That Paul, the self-appointed self-proclaimed “Apostle to the Gentiles” is the way the truth and the life, and everything should revolve around Paul.
It’s a good thing we know better. The Lord God Jesus (Yahshua) the Jewish Messiah, Son of Yahweh the Most High God, is The Way and The Truth and The Life.
Therefore, I believe we should be Orthodox, and see the rest of the 66 Books of the Bible through the lens of Jesus (specifically elevating the 4 Gospels Matthew Mark Luke John.)
Al,
Please explain your statement: “three days equivalent to 5 months of darkness”.
I don’t want to loose traction of this thread on “Darkness” and “Light”, which has significant implications to our brethren who read (replies and comments) within HA.
“For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory… And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.
For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1, ESV).
Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace. And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters.
There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures.
You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen” (2 Peter 3, ESV).

Psalm 1
I appreciate this extended quote from the Apostle Peter.
As you can see above, Peter wrote here about “PROPHECY of Scripture” not “all Scripture.” No one ever wrote or said “all Scripture is God-breathed” except Paul, one time buried in the middle of a personal letter to his friend Timothy.
The quote above is from Peter’s second letter. Peter referred to
“our BELOVED BROTHER Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters.”
.1) The Apostle Peter met Paul personally more than once, and had read many of Paul’s letters, where Paul claimed over and over that he was an “apostle.” Yet, Peter calls him “our beloved brother Paul.”
Neither Peter nor anyone else anywhere in the Bible ever referred to Paul individually as an apostle, (except Paul writing about himself.) No one in the world has contradicted this statement of fact, and DJ isn’t contradicting it here either by quoting the Apostle Peter.
If people believe that Paul’s testimony stands alone and doesn’t need another witness “because it’s in the Bible,” then the honest thing to do would be to admit that publically. Of course, that’s what Muslims believe about Muhammad and the Koran, and we all know instinctively this is wrong…. “no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.”
The Apostle Peter refers to Paul’s “letters when he speaks in them of THESE MATTERS.” Which matters? Prophecy of Scripture. That is the subject Peter is writing about here.
Not “all Scripture” not “every word in Paul’s letters” not Paul’s feelings, experience, emotions, travel schedule, personal greetings, immature outbursts, claims about himself and his supposed authority, to-do list for his helpers, creation of new words like “apostleship” and “super-apostle,” criticism and attacks on almost everyone else around him, or personal opinions.
We see 2 Peter 3 quoted above. Here is another verse from that chapter that was not quoted, but which gives us great insight into how to approach the OT text versus the NT text.
“I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles.” [2 Peter 3:2]
Read this verse very carefully, note the contrast, note what is said and what is not said.
In the OT, prophets spoke the Word of God.
In the NT, Jesus is The Word of God, so the Words of Jesus, given through His Apostles, are the Word of God, and top priority, especially the command of Jesus.
The words of the Apostles themselves are not equal to the words of Jesus if they are talking about Jesus rather than quoting Him, although they have a higher witnessing authority than the words of anyone else outside the 12 Apostles. (So the words of the Apostle Peter are above the words of Paul the Pharisee, for example.)
Of course, Peter is consistent with what Jesus reminded us from the Torah about establishing every matter by the testimony of two or three witnesses. Peter referred to “prophets” and “apostles” plural, not singular. Not himself, not “The Prophet” not “The Apostle.”
Matthew, why don’t you write yur own Bible since you do not Believe the one Jesus wrote???
ha ha
amen to that.
I was just laughing so hard tears were coming out of my eyes.
Our model of maturity and perfect life example King Solomon (the idol worshipping polygamist) reminded us there is
“a time to weep and a time to laugh.” [Ecclesiastes 3:4] 😉
Why don’t I write my own Bible?
The Second Century Heretic Marcion beat me to it 😉
He wrote the FIRST Christian Bible, composed of nothing but 10 of Paul’s letters and an abbreviated Gospel of Luke.
Here’s a link about
The first version of the New Testament (circa 145 CE)

Al,
Dear LORD!
Will folks recognize what is coming? It is critically important in these last days, preparing our lamp, and vessels as wise virgins (Matthew 25). The Day of The Lord is at hand and spiritual blindness abounds.
Exodus and Revelation are connected and this connection/correlation is supported by other passages.
“My heavens!” (As some grandmother would say.)
Al,
Please read Joel chapter 2 and the Psalms quoted below.
“Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand: A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains…
The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble; the sun and moon grow dark, and the stars diminish their brightness.
The Lord gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great; for strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; Who can endure it?” (Joel 2:9-10, NKJV).
Who can endure it?
Certainly not those in darkness.
Even those who’s minds are not set on what is above, giving thanks in all situations and offering praise unto the LORD open themselves up to “darkness”.
Consider these Scriptures.
“Light arises in the darkness for the upright; He is gracious and compassionate and righteous” (Psalm 112:4, NKJV).
“Light is sown like seed for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart. Be glad in the LORD, you righteous ones, and give thanks to His holy name” (Psalm 97:11-12, NKJV).
The following verses align with Joel 2.
“You light my lamp; The LORD my God illumines my darkness. For by You I can run upon a troop; And by my God I can leap over a wall…”(Psalm 18:28-29).
And some folks still think the darkness over Egypt was visual – a lack of light. They also think, no they believe that in the last days there will also be visual darkness.
The question then becomes why do these folks not “see”?
I think that I have an answer to this question. It has something to do with “powers of darkness” (Leviathan).
This should be our prayer: “Look on me and answer, LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death” (Psalm 13:3, NKJV).
Blessings
Psalm 23
Hey DJ,
We have been talking about the darkness that is upon us and getting worse. This short video with the President and 2 small children says so much.
http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/blog/?p=16075
Al,
No doubt about it at all. The general population is blind and walking in darkness , while the “virgins” are sleeping.
“For this reason it says, ‘Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you’ (Ephesians).
Let me know what you think about Hanna’s prayer recorded in 1st Samuel. I discovered this prayer last week. It is amazing.
“My heart finds joy in Yahweh. My head is lifted to Yahweh.
My mouth mocks my enemies.
I rejoice because you saved me. There is no one holy like Yahweh. There is no one but you, O Lord. There is no Tsur like our Elohim.
“Do not boast or let arrogance come out of your mouth because Yahweh is an El of knowledge, and he weighs our actions.
The bows of the warriors are broken, but those who stumble are armed with strength.
Those who were well-fed hire themselves out for a piece of bread, but those who were hungry hunger no more. Even the woman who was childless gives birth to seven children, but the mother of many children grieves all alone.
Yahweh kills, and he gives life. He makes people go down to the grave, and he raises them up again.
Yahweh causes poverty and grants wealth. He humbles people; he also promotes them. He raises the poor from the dust. He lifts the needy from the trash heap in order to make them sit with nobles and even to make them inherit a glorious throne.
The pillars of the earth are Yahweh’s. He has set the world on them.
He safeguards the steps of his faithful ones, but wicked people are silenced in darkness because humans cannot succeed by their own strength.
Those who oppose Yahweh are broken into pieces. He thunders at them from the heavens. Yahweh judges the ends of the earth. He gives strength to his King and lifts the head of his Messiah.”
Hanna prayed these words and they are recorded for a reason. This is more than just a prayer regarding her baby.
Blessings
Al
You are right. Our leader is not listening to the voice of Jesus. Instead, he is listening to the voice of the Pharisee, making “love” the greatest commandment and ignoring God’s opinion, even while proclaiming “God bless you.” Which god, I wonder?
Jesus reminded us from the Law of Moses,
“Haven’t you read,” he [Jesus] replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.'” [Matthew 19:4-5]
“Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: ‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’”
And another time,
“One of the teachers of the law… asked him,
‘Of all the commandments, which is the most important?’
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “ is this: ‘Hear, of Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than THESE.” [Mark 12:28-31, Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Leviticus 19:18]
But in contrast with Jesus, Paul the Pharisee didn’t know the greatest, most important, first commandment according to Jesus. Paul made up his own rule. Paul wrote:
“The entire law is summed up in a SINGLE command: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” [Galatians 5:14, Leviticus 19:18]
And again, Paul wrote:
“He who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not covet, and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this ONE RULE: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” [Romans 13:8-10, Leviticus 19:18]
Jesus said it’s TWO commandments, with the greatest, most important, first command to 1) first, love God with everything you’ve got, and
2) second, love people.
Paul said no, it ONE commandment- to love people.
What about you? Are you also choosing to listen to the voice of the Pharisee and ignore the voice of Jesus? Or are you following Jesus?
God the Fathers Word spoken through Yeshua.
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” Matthew 7:12.
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” John 13:34,35.
“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.”
John 15: 10-12.
“These things I command you, that ye love one another” John 15:17.
Paul echoed exactly what Yeshua had said above.
So if you’re going to accuse Paul of being a false Apostle based on that criteria, then logically you have to follow suit and also accuse Yeshua of the same.
For nowhere above does Yeshua mention the Father.
B.J.
You are wrong. Jesus does mention the Father, and refers to him indirectly even in the first word of the verse.
“Therefore …….” Matthew 7:12.
Therefore what?
Verse 12 cannot stand alone on it’s own out of context.
If you care enough about Jesus to listen to His voice IN CONTEXT, then you can read the previous 3 verses [Matthew 7:9-11] where Jesus says “how much more will YOUR FATHER in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! SO in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”
this is becoming a highly redundant and tiresome argument

Al,
Thank you!
God Bless you (Numbers 6:24-26)!
You my friend are a qualified second professional opinion (a medical application). Your rely gives more to the passage than I had hoped to see, thank you Lord.
Here are some reasons why I believe this is mental, spiritual darkness not physical darkness (no sun light by day or moon and star light by night). This applies to the book of Joel and Revelation too. This is critical information to our brothers and sister in these last days.
Exodus chapter 10 does not say that the sun did not shine or was hidden, does it?
They would have oil for lamps and wood for fire, right? There is no account of God removing oil and wood from the Egyptians. There was not a plague upon oil, wood or fire. It does not say fire light (candle, oil or burning wood) was removed from Egypt (ERV). A cloud of darkness fell upon them when Moses raised his hand into the air. The light from a flame was not removed – that is an assumption.
Job 5:8-16 gives an account of such “darkness” upon the so called wise but are truly wicked.
“He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success. He catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are brought to a quick end. They meet with darkness in the daytime and grope at noonday as in the night. But he saves the needy from the sword of their mouth and from the hand of the mighty. So the poor have hope, and injustice shuts her mouth” (ESV).
Please read Job 15:20-35 for additional insight on such spiritual darkness, which can explain the 9th Egyptian plague.
“The wicked man writhes in pain all his days, through all the years that are laid up for the ruthless. Dreadful sounds are in his ears; in prosperity the destroyer [“Angel of Death”] will come upon him.
He does not believe that he will return out of darkness, and he is marked for the sword. He wanders abroad for bread, saying, ‘Where is it?’
He knows that a day of darkness is ready at his hand; distress and anguish terrify him; they prevail against him, like a king ready for battle. Because he has stretched out his hand against God and defies the Almighty, running stubbornly against him with a thickly bossed shield…”(ESV).
So then, what is the evidence of these people have a feeling of darkness?
This mental, spiritual darkness that they “felt” would be experienced by – deep depression, despair, gloom, lethargy, despondency, mind-binding confusion, forgetfulness, and other such emotional darkness. This “cloud of darkness” was pervasive. It was literal mental darkness they could feel.
The Egyptians were, by Hebrew figurative definition of the word “see”, not able to consider, discern, take heed, regard or have respect for one another for 3 days. The feeling of darkness was so deep that Egyptians (those without light) were self absorbed in their personal mental anguish.
Second, Genesis Exodus 10:23 in the New King James tells us, “nor did anyone rise from his place for three days.”
Oh! The Egyptians in the mists of darkness did not get up (arise) and go anywhere. Only because they could not see their first or next step, right?
This mental state was so intense that it keep them from even getting up in the morning as we read – “nor did anyone rise from his place for three days.”
This seems to be a state of mental, emotional, spiritual bondage – a deep depressing “cloud of darkness”, which they could not escape for 72 long hours.
Even now the world is in a form of darkness but it will be even greater in the last days. Could it be so dark that they can not “find the LORD”?
“Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, and He will have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.…”(Isaiah 55:6-7).
I have more to share (like you, many Scriptures and Hebrew word meanings). But, I would prefer Marianne to re-consider and workout the posting of the article/graphics submitted to her (most recent document).
Then, you and I along with others can discuss the importance comprehending darkness and walking in the light in these last days.
God Bless you!
Psalm 25
Read about the name ADON, ADONAI,..
http://phoenicia.org/adonis.html
then read about it in scripure. Isaiah 65-15, 16….
And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name:
THIS OTHER NAME IS JESUS WHO IS TRUTH…
That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth;
And then understand you are a part of the children of ADONIKAM of Ezra 2-13… ADONIKAM means the phoenician astrology gods-adon-adonai have arisen…
Incidentally ADONIKAM’s childen are 666 which means ADONIKAM’s number is 666 and then read about the number of the beast being the number of a man and get ready for your hot journey and an eternally hot destination..
Try to remember ABRAHAM, Issac and jacob did not call God by any other name except the name of God Almighty… Jesus is God almighty.. Rev 1-8…
Exodus 6-3..And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.
I have not found the name for God, ADONAI OR ADON anywhere in the Scriptures..
This name probably arose when the Israelites turned their back on
God in the wilderness…
The name Jehovah was revealed to them ….but never adon or adonai in scripture..
Jewish tradition…..they consider the name of god to be ineffable…or to holy to pronounce….so they substitute the term Lord where it says YHVH
Marianne, I am not certain but I think the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and jacob only knew the name of God almighty till Moses was sent to gather them in Egypt…It was then god said to tell them I AM has sent Moses..Jesus said He is the I AM , john 8-58…
I also think, cannot prove yet, that the israelites learned the name ADONAI after they turned away from God Almighty… The name adonai from what I have researched derives from the word ADON and of course adonis, and any way you go it means baal, lord, master…I have also thought this is the CURSED name that was left to God’s chosen (Christians) in Isaiah 65-15, 16 and chapter..Still learning….
This I know for certain..ThE NAME of JESUS supersedes all names…
i don’t quite understand why the jews think they cannot pronounce the name.
scripture does not mention a prohibition against it.
It actually says to call upon the name of the Lord…so that would require saying the name, not a substitute for it. I think the substitution is over zealous, and takes power away from their prayer.
for example, your name is ruth, and you have told us that….so we could address you…..what good is it to call you jane?
same with the substitution of adonai or hashem for YHVH. it makes no sense.
For you DJ..and Al and Matthew
And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
Some are trying to work Jesus into old covenant laws and ordinances…The old covenent has been replaced by the new covenent…They only preach Christ to entrap Christians…You guys are pathetic and know nothing about scriptures..
And I mean NOTHING….
Marianne, Not sure but I think they cannot pronounce YHVH because it contains no vowels..I also think satan has counterfeited God’s name…Maybe that is why there are so many variations of it..About like he is fooling people today claiming allah is the god of Abraham..
As for darkness and light, Al, Matthew and DJ are the darkness trying to put out the LIGHT…You are same as the false prophets who steal the word of God out of mens hearts by teaching them lies…Personally I think you are all evil…
Jesus remakes people into the likeness and image of god…Al, DJ and Matthew are trying to lead men backward into the nakedness and darkenss of Eve and the Irsraelites that fell in Moses group..How many ways must it be said the law and ordinances came after the fall….Not a blessing but a curse…that leads to death, not to life..
Cursed people calling on a cursed name… Isaiah 65-15, 16…..We know the cursed name is not Jesus…..so what is the cursed name????? Would it be the name that accompanied the cursed laws and ordinances…??/
e1313truth,
What is your problem? I would grow weary of your eruptions. Its like gas – it passes and in a few minutes I can breath again (mentally not literally).
Try this prescription from the Apostle Paul:
“Encourage each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord. Always give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Ephesians 5:19-20).
Please read 1st John and all of John’s letters – better yet, you may like to listen to the Word. Open this link, give hear and rest.
http://www.biblegateway.com/audio/mclean/esv/1John.1
“If we obey what God has told us to do, then we are sure that we know him. If we say we know God but do not obey his commands, we are lying. The truth is not in us.
But when we obey God’s teaching, his love is truly working in us. This is how we know that we are living in him. If we say we live in God, we must live the way Jesus lived.
My dear friends, I am not writing a new command to you. It is the same command you have had since the beginning. This command is the teaching you have already heard. But what I write is also a new command. It is a true one; you can see its truth in Jesus and in yourselves. The darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining.
Someone might say, “I am in the light,” but if they hate any of their brothers or sisters in God’s family, they are still in the darkness.
Those who love their brothers and sisters live in the light, and there is nothing in them that will make them do wrong. But whoever hates their brother or sister is in darkness. They live in darkness. They don’t know where they are going, because the darkness has made them blind” (1st John 2:3-11).
“We love because God first loved us. If we say we love God but hate any of our brothers or sisters in his family, we are liars. If we don’t love someone we have seen, how can we love God? We have never even seen him. God gave us this command: If we love God, we must also love each other as brothers and sisters” (1st John 4:19-21).
Ruth, e1313 or whatever your name truly is –
Do you realize you’ve given a rebuke to MP and then keep explaining yourself, chasing him with your rod? Let the Word do the work and give your flesh a rest.
As for me – thanks for passing once again. Enough time has elapsed and I can take a breath.
God bless you – I can’t see any value in extending this dialogue.
Blessings
Psalm 40
Al,
Thank you for your reply/comment as we continue this important topic/ thread.
Let’s see what the writers of the Expanded Translation bring to our discourse. I’ll copy the text and add the link.
The writers see this passage (Revelation 16), as “reminiscent” of the plagues of Egypt.
I trust some will “see” the correlation with Egypt (the world) and Israelites (Believers, cleansed by the blood of the Messiah, with the light of righteousness within their soul/spirit).
The Apostle Paul (who knew the account of Egyptian Plagues from the teachings he received from Scriptures and accounts handed down from generation to generation), gives us a message about this darkness and the light.
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says:
“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God” (Ephesians 5, NKJV).
So then, the following is Revelation 16, which describes the affect of the plagues, which do not affect Believers – those who walk in the light and cleansed by the blood of the Lamb.
“Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the seven bowls of God’s ·anger [wrath] on the earth.”
The first angel left and poured out his bowl on the land. Then ·ugly [foul] and painful sores [C reminiscent of the sixth Egyptian plague; Ex. 9:9–11; Job 2] came upon all those who had the ·mark [brand] of the beast and who worshiped his ·idol [image].
The second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood like that of a ·dead man [corpse; C reminiscent of the first Egyptian plague; Ex. 7:14–21; see also 8:8–9], and every living thing in the sea died.
The third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they became blood [C also similar to the first Egyptian plague]. Then I heard the angel of the waters saying:
“[L O] Holy One, you are the One who is and who was.
You are ·right [just] ·to decide to punish [or because you judged] these ·evil people [L things].
[L Because] They have poured out the blood of your ·holy people [T saints] and your prophets.
So now you have given them blood to drink as they deserve [Is. 49:26].”
And I heard ·a voice coming from the altar [L the altar] saying:
“Yes, Lord God ·Almighty [All-powerful],
·the way you punish evil people is [L your judgments are] ·right [true] and ·fair [just; righteous].”
The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and ·he [or it; C either the sun or the angel] was given ·power [authority] to ·burn [scorch] the people with fire. They were ·burned [scorched] by the great heat, and they ·cursed [blasphemed] the name of God, who had ·control [authority; power] over these ·disasters [plagues]. But the people ·refused to change their hearts and lives [L did not repent] and give ·glory [honor] to God.
The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and darkness covered its kingdom [8:12; C reminiscent of the ninth Egyptian plague; Ex. 10:21–29]. People ·gnawed [bit] their tongues because of the ·pain [agony]. They also cursed the God of heaven because of their pain and the sores they had, but they refused to ·change their hearts and turn away [repent] from ·the evil things they did [L their deeds].
The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates so that the water in the river was dried up to prepare the way for the kings from the east to come [C reminiscent of the splitting of the Red Sea and the Jordan; Ex. 14:21–22; Josh. 3:13–17]. Then I saw three ·evil [L unclean] spirits that looked like frogs [C reminiscent of the second Egyptian plague; Ex. 8:1–15] coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. [L For] These evil spirits are the spirits of demons, ·which have power to do miracles [L that perform signs]. They go out to the kings of the whole world to gather them together for the battle on the great day of God ·Almighty [All-powerful].
“Listen [L Look; T Behold]! I will come as a thief comes [C that is, without warning]! ·Blessed [Happy] are those who stay ·awake [alert] and keep their clothes on [C a metaphor for staying faithful and pure] so that they will not walk around naked and have people see their shame.”
Then ·the evil spirits [L they] gathered the kings together to the place that is called Armageddon in the Hebrew language [C meaning “Mountain of Megiddo,” a strategic pass in northern Israel].
The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. Then a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying, “It ·is finished [is done; has come to pass]!” Then there were flashes of lightning, ·noises, thunder [rumbling thunder], and a ·big [great] earthquake [4:5; 11:19]—the ·worst [greatest; most violent] earthquake that has ever happened since people have been on earth. The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations ·were destroyed [fell; collapsed]. And God remembered ·the sins of Babylon the Great, so he gave that city the cup filled with the wine of ·his terrible anger [L the anger/fury of his wrath; 14:8]. Then every island ·ran away [fled], and mountains ·disappeared. Giant hailstones, each weighing about ·a hundred pounds [L a talent], fell from the sky upon people [C reminiscent of the seventh Egyptian plague; 11:19; Ex. 9:13–35]. People ·cursed [blasphemed] God for the ·disaster [plague] of the hail, because this ·disaster [plague] was so terrible” (Revelation 16).

Psalm 23
Hey DJ,
As I had written previously, I believe that the 3 days of darkness in the plagues of Egypt, will equate to 5 months of darkness in Revelation 9. What played out in Egypt literally (with spiritual insights) will play out spiritually at the end of time, understanding that the order of this present world will be turned into chaos and disorder leaving the world decimated, even as Egypt was.
Revelation 9
Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
9 The fifth angel sounded his shofar; and I saw a star that had fallen out of heaven onto the earth, and he was given the key to the shaft leading down to the Abyss. 2 He opened the shaft of the Abyss, and there went up smoke from the shaft like the smoke of a huge furnace; “THE SUN WAS DARKENED, AND THE SKY TOO, BY THE SMOKE FROM THE SHAFT.”* 3 Then out of the smoke onto the earth came locusts, and they were given power like the power scorpions have on earth. 4 They were instructed not to harm the grass on the earth, any green plant or any tree, but only the people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 The locusts were not allowed to kill them, only to inflict pain on them for “FIVE MONTHS*; and the pain they caused was like the pain of a scorpion sting. 6 In those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.
7 Now these locusts looked like horses outfitted for battle. On their heads were what looked like crowns of gold, and their faces were like human faces. 8 They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like those of lions. 9 Their chests were like iron breastplates, and the sound their wings made was like the roar of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. 10 They had tails like those of scorpions, with stings; and in their tails was their power to hurt people for five months. 11 They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is “Abaddon” and in our language, “Destroyer.”
Notice that in Egypt, during the 8th Plague, locusts were gathered into Egypt for a certain purpose:
Exodus 10:12-15
(ii) 12 ADONAI said to Moshe, “Reach out your hand over the land of Egypt, so that locusts will invade the land and eat every plant that the hail has left.” 13 Moshe reached out with his staff over the land of Egypt, and ADONAI caused an east wind to blow on the land all day and all night; and in the morning the east wind brought the locusts. 14 The locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and settled throughout Egypt’s territory. It was an invasion more severe than there had ever been before or will ever be again. 15) They completely covered the ground, so that the ground looked black. They ate every plant growing from the ground and all the fruit of the trees left by the hail. Not one green thing remained, not a tree and not a plant in the field, in all the land of Egypt.
Notice verse 15: They (the locusts) completely covered the GROUND*, so that the GROUND looked BLACK*. They ate EVERY PLANT* growing from the GROUND* and all the FRUIT* of the trees left by the hail. Not one GREEN* thing remained, not a TREE*, not a PLANT*, not any GRASS* in all the land of Egypt.
We need to define a few of the words at this point.
Ground=the heart
Fruit=that which grows from the ground= the heart (good fruit=green or bad fruit=black)
Green=full of light and life
Black=void of light, death
Going to Revelation 9 we see that “DARKNESS” covers the land again with locusts (demons) coming up out of the pit of hell, who are told to hurt only those who do not have the seal of Yah in their foreheads. Notice in verse 4 they are told not to hurt any of the trees or green plants or grass (those who have the Good Fruit-those whose Heart-Ground has NOT been Darkened-having no light) for 5 months.
As it was in the beginning, so shall it be in the end. Everything that has been or is yet to come, was given to us in the beginning. There is nothing new, only the fulfillment (establishing) of Yah’s Word that He gave to man. If we reject the beginning, we will have no part in the end.
Yah created man in an “agrarian” society using agricultural terms to define who His people are and how they are to conduct their lives through; seasons, sowing and reaping, fruit and grains, and so on. It is so basic that all could understand, but we have left this knowledge for NEW things with our understanding and hearts being DARKENED through this NEW knowledge. It is why the word to repent in Hebrew is Teshuvah= to turn around and return to those things given in the beginning. So it was in the Garden! Man was given a choice; to feast on His pure Word which is light that brings life (Torah=MESSIAH), or partake on perverted words of the enemy (a mixture of good and evil=a mixture of light and darkness) that brings death, the compromised Word bringing about darkness. That is the message for today and time is short!
Jeremiah 17:7-8
7 [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.
8 For he shall be like a TREE* planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be GREEN*. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding FRUIT.*
Book I: Psalms 1–41
1 How blessed are those
who reject the advice of the wicked,
don’t stand on the way of sinners
or sit where scoffers sit!
2 Their delight
is in ADONAI’s Torah;
on his Torah they meditate
day and night.
3 They are like TREES* planted by streams —
they bear their FRUIT* in season,
their LEAVES (green)* never wither,
everything they do succeeds.
4 Not so the wicked,
who are like chaff driven by the wind.
5 For this reason the wicked
won’t stand up to the judgment,
nor will sinners
at the gathering of the righteous.
6 For ADONAI watches over
the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked is doomed.
Shalom
*emphasis mine
Al, you are implying the torah, first five books of moses are the tree of life… I see them as the tree of death since Moses brough no life but death to the disobeying jews..I see the new testament and Jesus as the tree of life that brings life and forgivness …
I just can’t help but think that satan is saying to sons of god today,,, Command that this stone be made bread…..meaning the commandments written on stone and their accompaning punishments that brought death…
Jesus told satan and needs to tel you Al, man does not live by what Al claims is bread from God but is not, but by every word of God ..The new covenant new testament superceded all of moses cursed shanigans…
John 6-31, 32..Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
Speaking of the name ADONAI…..
Rev 13 says the number of the beast is the number of a man…
Men were numbered by the number of offsprings… in old testament
There is a man who had 666 offsprings ,…There fore his number if 666
Ezra 2-13, the children of ADONIKAM 666….
His name means my lord has arisen….Those that take the number of the beast think the beast is their lord…
ADONI is one of the names the jews used for God…
The scriptures also tell us they will leave their name for a curse to god’s chosen (christians ) ,,,,Isaiah 65-15, 16..
sounds very much like hebrew rots who are trying to give Christians the curse of the 10 commandments and the NAME ADONAI..
DJ,
Bear we me, I should be able to get back with you tomorrow. I appreciate so much your diligence and concern and care for the body of Messiah in these last days.
Shalom
Al,
Excellent.
There are a few points within your reply that I’d like to explore. I’ll take my time, posting a few replies over the next few days.
It has become clear to me (over the past few years) that most of what will occur in the last days is spiritual with mental and physical implications. Your reply confirms by pointing to Scriptures and Hebrew word meanings. The Torah, witting of the Prophets and Psalms give a great deal of insight.
What most church folk have been taught is just the opposite – physical events (flesh) with mental torment and spiritual implications. Darkness is physical (no sun or moon light, no light by flame).
I think we have established that “Darkness” in Scripture is mental and emotional (literal) and has spiritual implications. If necessary – we could reference a few more verses to solidify the case. Marianne’s latest dream post is a form of spiritual darkness over the land. Sure does apply to the US today.
I’ll respond first to this statement you wrote –
“It is so basic that all could understand, but we have left this knowledge for NEW things with our understanding and hearts being DARKENED through this NEW knowledge.”
This “new knowledge” is what I call “a spirit of religion”, which is pervasive in evangelical (denominational) churches (the 6 listed in Revelation) who are called to “repent”. You wrote about that too.
This religions spirit misleads churches in various means/ways because it is of the flesh and not of The Spirit.
The spirit of religion is not really “new” but dresses up in the cloths of a particular generation. Peter, Jude and Paul addressed this issue to those in the 1st – 2nd Centuries (spots, blemish). Constantine fully applied/integrated this spirit of religion into “the church”. The spirit of religion is fully operational today with multiple spots and blemishes. Over time – the spirit of religion has taken a “strong hold”.
What I think is lacking in most evangelical churches today is the 7 Spirits of God (Isaiah 11:2) – the complete 7. The spirit of religion masks, as an actor, playing very well before crowds.
I think the 7 Spirits of God is Truth.
“These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars…”(Revelation 3:1 and see Isaiah 11:2).
When a Believer seeks Truth from a sincere heart, then the Spirit of God (7) is revealed, made manifest to and in them.
But a Believer seeking Truth is not to seek the wisdom of men (denominationalism), the meaning of mystic signs or understand the ways of Endor to gain insight. We are to put our trust in God (the 7 Spirits of God, Isaiah 11:2 and Rev. 3:1) through His Son. Jesus is the light that shines in our darkness (Psalm 18:28-29).
Al, as you wrote – we are to turn back to the beginning. It was in the beginning when the Spirit (Isaiah 11:3) moved over the waters. That is about as far back as I can go (conceptually).
“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit (Rev.3:1 and Isaiah 11:2) says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.”
“Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit (Rev. 3.1) says to the churches. The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.”
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (Rev. 3:1) says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.”’
“Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations…He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (Rev. 3:1) says to the churches.”’
“He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (Rev. 3:1) says to the churches.”’
“He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (Rev. 3:1) says to the churches.”’
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.
Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit (Rev. 3:1) says to the churches.”’
Thoughts?
I want to explore the grass, tree, leaves and the locusts in future replies.
Thank you for sharing and extending this important thread. I pray others will find our thread worthy of consideration – if they disagree, okay.
Blessings
Psalm 112
Maybe I should post Psalm 112.
Praise the Lord!
Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
who greatly delights in his commandments!
His offspring will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in his house,
and his righteousness endures forever.
Light dawns in the darkness for the upright;
he is gracious, merciful, and righteous.
It is well with the man who deals generously and lends;
who conducts his affairs with justice.
For the righteous will never be moved;
he will be remembered forever.
He is not afraid of bad news;
his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,
until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever;
his horn is exalted in honor.
The wicked man sees it and is angry;
he gnashes his teeth and melts away;
the desire of the wicked will perish! (ESV).
Jesus often quoted Moses and the Prophets. Jesus never quoted Paul. And Paul almost never even pretended to quote the teachings Jesus gave during his 3-½ years of earthly ministry, probably because Paul didn’t know them. Paul never saw Jesus, even though it appears he had a conversion experience where the Risen Jesus Christ spoke to him (which is not unique- many others have had such an experience, including me.)
I am only aware of one place where Paul tried to quote some verifiable words of Jesus, (there may be a few others), and Paul got it wrong, made something up, and then redefined the whole thing with his own meaning, ignoring the words of Jesus.
I’m talking about a very familiar passage that many Christians have heard read aloud dozens, probably hundreds, maybe thousands of times. Paul’s First letter to the Corinthians chapter 11:23-33, about “The Lord’s Supper.”
But Paul wasn’t there.
Luke wrote a record of Jesus saying “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” [Luke 22:19] Paul got that part almost right in his letter- close enough really, no need to quibble about it.
But,
Then Paul starting making things up. In 1 Corinthians 11:25, Paul put words in Jesus’ mouth, about the drinking the cup, the blood, “in remembrance of me.” Jesus never said that.
Then
In 1 Corinthians 11:26 Paul redefined the meaning of celebrating the Lord’s Supper from “remembering Jesus” to “proclaim the Lord’s DEATH until he comes.” Wrong. According to the words of Jesus himself, we are to focus on the Living Jesus, not focus on His death.
Then
Paul goes on making up his own wacky theology about “eating and drinking judgment.” [In 1 Corinthians 11:27-32]
Then
Paul redefines The Lord’s Supper to be merely a ceremony, (like it is today in most churches with thimble of grape juice and tiny cracker), rather than what it actually was, a SUPPER with food and drink, deep personal interaction and discussion, which lasted all evening. Paul writes:
“If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home…” In 1 Corinthians 11:34
And we wonder why many “relationships” in church tend to be superficial?
We have 4 other, more extended accounts of the Last Supper.
Matthew 26, Mark 14, Luke 22, John 13-17
Matthew and John were both physically present. Mark and Luke’s writings were based on eyewitness accounts. And then we have Paul…
In my personal experience, before communion in church services, I’ve probably heard Paul’s letter quoted 10 or 20 times more than all the Gospel writers combined. The Lord’s Supper is yet another example of a word or term or idea that Paul twisted and redefined, and the church is listening to the voice of Paul and following Paul rather than listening to the voice of Jesus.
We need to be “Face to Face” with JESUS, not Paul. In order to reflect the image of Jesus, we need to listen to His voice directly- not through the filter of Paul, who may have done the best he knew (or maybe not), but either way, he never knew Jesus personally during His earthly ministry. As Marianne wrote above on the original post:
To reflect any image, one must be close to the origin of the image.
So, if we do not reflect the image of God, then it means we are too far away.
I am not going to answer all this, but the passage where it says to eat at home,…if you look at the rest of the chapter, he is saying they gather to eat and drink but it is not the Lord’s supper. they are just getting together to get drunk, so he says to stay home, and not bring shame on the church who is actually celebrating the Lord’s supper.
Marianne
Regarding eating. You are breaking one law in the NT when you sit and eat at the same table with a muslim. Read 1 Corintians 5:11. I remember you said a muslim is living in your home.
he came from a muslim country, but he is christian.
We do not eat together anyhow.
he has his own house now with his parents
Based on the Last Supper accounts of Matthew Mark Luke & John, (not on Paul’s letter), do you think that the Lord’s Supper should be an actual MEAL for an extended period of time, where we break bread together in remembrance of Jesus and have personal interaction and discussion with fellow believers? I do. And I think that everyone coming to a dinner party should come hungry and not spoil their appetite with something they ate at home.
Matthew read Luke 22-19, 20…
And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
V. 21..But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
This is you Matthew…
V. 27…Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
For you Matthew..
Matthew, do you even understand this verse???
Luke 22-20..Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
Jesus sealed the now testament-covenant with his blood…You are trying to mulilate he new testament and bring back the old covenant of Moses which leads only to death..
Matthew, your words show that you think God is a moron that does not understand the past and does not know he future…You put him on the same level as man….Your words reek of disdain and hatred toward Paul who was a chosen witness hand picked by Jesus Himself..
Matthew you said…”””.To reflect any image, one must be close to the origin of the image. So, if we do not reflect the image of God, then it means we are too far away.””””
Your idea of the image of God is to copycat Him…Well so did the pharisees….
God’s idea of the image of God is not that….
He shows us clearly what image of God means….He made Adam in his image ….. He breathed his spirit into Adam …This is what constitutes an image of God…He indwells us and we make Him visible…He breathes His Spirit into us…John 20-22…
God accomplishes this by his words..If we eat His words and believe them by faith he is able to transform us into His image…..
Satan the counterfeiter transformed the Adams from the image of God to the image of the serpent by words………The Adams thought they were partaking of God’s words…The serpent was fluent at quoting God’s words, and contradicting God’s words….Gen 3-5 and John 10-35 and Psalms 82-6..
Discrediting the words of God will only ensure you a position as a child of Satan..
Satan right now is trying to change Christian men from the image of God to the image of himself by words, just words. I.e.The perversion of God’s words.. Like Hebrew Roots lies and Islam and more..
Adam was a SON of God, but he lost his position for himself and all of mankind…Jesus came as Son of God to show us the way back… He was baptized in the water and in spirit and God declared Him SON OF GOD… This was all done to show little baby men the way back to God… Jesus was perfect.. He needed no baptism…He also knew he was Son of God from about age 12… When He said “Should I not be about MY FATHER’S business.”
Al, you said..
“”But in addition to that, it is also necessary for the Orthodox Jews so they will understand and recognize that their brothers and sisters are the “returning” (Teshuvah) Christian Church, following Messiah in His Torah…”””
This is an absolute untruth… It is the Jews who will graduate to Christianity when they grow up..
Real Christians will never go back to pre kindergarten of Moses..
Going backward leads to the perdition of ungodly men..
Why would a sane person go backward to what causes death…It is even called ministration of death…
Sorry to have to tell you this, but the truth came from the beginning, not the end. The actual truth that was in the beginning, is what will be in the end. Messiah our salvation and Messiah the Word (Torah) have existed from the beginning and will restore all things to Himself at the end. He stepped into this world for a short period of time to ransom us from our sin and then stepped back into eternity, to guide and lead us in Spirit to gather us to Him in the end. Nothing more and nothing less. The word “Christianity” will not be a Kosher word in the Kingdom. Messiah did not “convert” and become a Greek while He was here. Only in your Gentile misunderstanding does that notion exist. Hopefully you will see at some point in the near future.
Shalom
Al, you better read more…
and the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Mohammed
opps. here is what I was trying to post… my puter betrayed me…
God said He declared the end from the beginning and indeed He did…
Let me show you by Scripture what it is…
Isaiah 41-26….Who hath declared from the beginning, that we may know? And beforetime, that we may say, He is righteous? Yea, there is none that sheweth, yea, there is none that declareth, yea, there is none that heareth your words. V. 23..Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that YE ARE GODS; yea, do GOOD,, or do EVIL, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together….
HE SHOWS US THAT SATAN TEMPTING EVE in Gen 3 WILL BE THE SAME AS THE LATTER DAY TEMPTATION OF MAN…Did not the serpent say “you will be as gods in knowing good and evil”?
Don’t believe it… Read 2 Corinthians 11-3,4,14…But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. ..v.4…For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. . …V.14….And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light….Means messiah like Jesus the real light…
Now let me show you who the deceiving serpent is today…
Rev. 12-9.. And the great dragon was cast out, that OLD SERPENT, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him…
The dragon of Rev. 12 and 13 is that old serpent …that is deceiving the Eves of
today….
This positively is Islam but Hebrew Roots lies are the roots of this kingdom of Satan..They and Islam both all teach law, and punishments, NOT FAITH…They teach the ministration of death
It is all a counterfeit of God’s works with man… Hebrew Roots lies are the doctrinal foundation… The dragon and his gang are counterfeit of the spirit of God, Mohammed is the counterfeit of Jesus, Koran is the counterfeit of the Gospel of Christ…
And it appears to me the Hebrew roots movement will accept Mohammed as their messiah and his gospel of lies…..God is writing men out of His book of life as prophesied..
The children of Moses bowed to the moon god Allah aka the gold calf symbol…These were also I believe in the wilderness of SIN.. Both the mountain and the wilderness are named after the moon god named SIN… Coincidence Hebrew roots and Islam are brothers in doctrine…?????
Al, your last two posts are the most unenlightened dumbest thing I have ever heard..
Al, Jesus was of the bloodlines of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob….He was not a Jew…Jew is a religion, not a nationality…He disagreed and badmouthed the pharisees consistently..When he attended the synagogue it was to teach, not to learn… You evidently do not even understand that Jesus was the God of Genesis 1-1…
Jesus was baptized, in water and received holy ghost spirit and God declared Him a Son of God.. This is what constitutes a CHRISTIAN…He was baptized and received Holy ghost to show men the way back to God which Adam caused separation for all men..
How many Jews today are baptized in water, receive the holy ghost spirit of God and are established as Son of God???
Also how many are baptized in the NAME OF JESUS… Jesus said to baptize in the name of Father, Son and Holy Ghost.. But Peter baptized in the name of Jesus only…Peter knew Jesus spoke only in parables but showed the truth to his own..Peter knew Jesus meant to use the name of Jesus.. Jesus is Father, son and holy ghost..
Al, I think you are implying that the first five books of Moses, the torah are the tree of life….That is another untruth…I will grant you both trees are wisdom..The tree of life is God’s wisdom….. But it is not Moses books and laws… The Bible says man was cut off from the tree of life lest he eat of it and live forever in his woeful condition….But It is possible Jesus represents the tree of life wisdom… Those who follow Jesus and are born againb NEVER DIE SO IT IS POSSIBLE THEY CAN PARTAKE OFGOD’S WISDOM WITHOUT HARMFUL EFFCTS..
You friend are not following jesus…You are following Moses and Moses can not give a flea life…Plus the wisdom Moses gave the jews led to death…Paul called it ministration of death…
Again Marianne, I commmend your patience!!!!!!
In the 4 Gospel accounts of The Lord’s Supper, Jesus is recorded once and only once, by one writer (Luke the Gentile) saying “do this in remembrance of me.”
Luke recorded:
“And he [Jesus] took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” [Luke 22:19]
The Apostles Matthew and John, who were both present, didn’t mention these words, and neither did Mark. Only Luke did, once, after Jesus broke bread. (not after Jesus did something with the cup.) Yes I do believe that Jesus said this- once. But since only Luke mentioned it, not the other 3 Gospel writers, I think it does not carry as much weight.
Only Paul, who was not present at the Last Supper, wrote that Jesus said a second time “do this in remembrance of me” after taking the cup. Paul made this up.
Jesus commanded us to “break bread” in remembrance of Him. We take that literally, which we should, but also “break bread” meant to have a meal together, (which is what Jesus was doing when he spoke those words,) not just a little piece of cracker.
I think Jesus also meant for us to have a meal together- an Agape meal, as the early church used to do, as the Lord’s Supper, not just a little clean religious ritual with a thimble of grape juice and a cracker.
So essentially, Paul has redefined “The Lord’s Supper” from being
.(1) a command to have an extended MEAL together connecting personally with fellow believers in order to remember Jesus, into
.(2) a command to do a fairly superficial religious ritual, and focus on the DEATH of Jesus- which is exactly what the Roman Catholic church does with the Mass.

Enough!
“If I said something wrong,” Jesus replied, “testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?”
[John 18:23]
matthew
you are not jesus…..people have explained their views, and backed with scripture, and you reject what they say
Marianne,
Others have expressed their views backed with the “Scripture” of the 66 books of the Bible.
I have stated an undeniable fact about the words of Jesus, recorded in the text of the Gospels in the English NIV Bible, and I’ve expressed my view backed up with the Law of Moses and the Prophets.
How Jesus used the term “the law” in the NIV Gospels is not my view or my opinion, it’s an observable fact. Anyone can open their NIV Bible and verify this, if they are willing to listen to Jesus. (Of course it is a translation, and not the only one, so there might be some translation issues I am not aware of.) Before we start interpreting, I am saying we first need to face the facts in the text.
but your scripture does not prove your point.
In the words of Jesus, “the law” means “the Law of Moses.” Nothing else. I accept Jesus’ definition, and try to talk like Jesus, who said He did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it.
Paul wrote of Jesus “abolishing the law,” so on that point, Paul was clearly wrong, regardless of “what he really meant” or what we think he really meant. It isn’t Paul’s prerogative to redefine the words of Jesus and give them a new meaning. And it isn’t our job to “harmonize” the words of Jesus with the words of Paul or any other man. That is called syncretism. (Jesus does harmonize with the Law of Moses and the Prophets, but is above them, in my view.)
As I mentioned before, Paul redefined many words and terms, and we take for granted Paul’s new meaning without thinking- The Gospel, The most important commandment, Apostle, Grace, Faith, the Lord’s Supper. In addition, through Paul’s example, he largely redefined Pastor, How Sin is seen by God before conversion vs. after conversion, whom we should follow and imitate, and who is our example.
As John the Baptist might say, JESUS must become greater. (Paul must become less.)
MATTHEW..JESUS is the bread…
Matthew 26-26..Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.”
Matthew 4-4…But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
but by every word that comes out of the mouth of god
but by every word that comes out of the mouth of god.
Do I need to prove again that God wrote the entire Bible through men….
It looks like satan was trying to convince Jesus to turn the stone commandments into bread and live by Moses laws only..
Matthew you are really helping me to understand the temptation of the reborn sons of God today..
Matthew ,You think that Jesus fulfilling the law is when all people turn backward to old covenant of Moses and that is the fulfilling of the law…
The trurh is, it is just the opposite…Jesus fulfilled the law with his body and blood…He was the blood sacrifice for all those who break the laws and his death paid the penalty..THAT IS FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW…
The two love laws are also the fulfillmen of the law..
You think the law makes you righteous…It des not… Only Jesus makes men righteous and removes Adam’s woeful condition from men…..
When you think LAW just remember God knew the Israelites were playing footsie with the golden calf when he gave the law….God does not reward those who worship idols…
If the law saved men there would have been no need for Jesus salvation..
fulfillment does not mean cancellation
Marianne I was saying what the scriptures say about the law…Fulfill means to complete or finish..Some use the law to make themselves feel righteous….There is so much more to God they are pathetic…..The pharisees that killed Jesus, Paul and most aspostles thought they were righteous godly men in their murders of these men…..But jesus condemned them as hypocrites and Jesus continuously broke their law…WHY????
Going backward into Moses covenant leads to perdition…The Bible shows this..Both Moses and Hagar saw the back side of God…Christians see God face to face in Jesus…God’s back side or hinder side is when God becaue of anger or other reasons show them back side…
I am beginning to think the great falling away from Jesus of 2 Thessalonians 2 that transforms men into sons of perdition are men that turned backwards to Moses covenant as do hebrew rots and Islam..
actually, according to jewish tradition, fulfill means to properly explain.
It is possible to obey the law and God’s commandments out of love for God…
it is not a dry distinction between law and grace….it is written, if you love me, keep my commandments.
MATTHEW you like all pharisees strain at knats and swallow camels whole..
If you knew the Lord and how he hides things from pharisees, etc. and reveals them to his own you would know sometimes He slips in one little sentence to reveal things.
What in the name of God do you think the bread and blood repesent…He shed his blood for humanity and his body…in death..Maybe you think the body and blood of Jesus represents the five books of Moses..
And maybe you think it is rolls and steak dinner..
Maybe you don’t even think for yourself but are programmed by hebrew rots…Rots fit this group beter than roots.. They rot men’s souls.
Matthew
I sugest you read theese verses
24. And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. 27. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. 28. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. (1st Corinthians 11:24-28)

Al,
Back to those Plagues (both in Egypt and Revelation) and those nasty locusts. BTW – this ongoing discourse over Paul is sowing seeds of discord among the brethren (Proverbs 6:12-19).
Okay, your review and comments regarding locusts are excellent and true.
Confirmation is found in all your wrote within Joel 2:25-27. These are demonic creatures not bugs.
“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.
You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the Lord your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame” (NKJV).
The restoring comes at the end of the age (soon).
Believers are His people and the sheep of His pasture (Ezekiel 34:31 and John chapter 10).
As you quoted from Jeremiah 17:7-8. Amen.

Psalm 1
Thanks DJ, point well taken.
Hey DJ,
I wanted to make a comment based on our previous discussions concerning the “spiritual” aspect of the Judgments in the book of Revelations. Spiritual judgments have physical consequences. We (as human beings) are body, soul, and spirit, with all three being attacked, on that day, unlike any other time in the history of mankind, with our only resolution and hope being in that of the spirit. We can do what is wise concerning physical things and mental preparedness, but it is only in the well being of our spirits, in relation to Messiah our Salvation-our Word that we are left standing in victory at the end. With that said, I would like to go on to a specific problem that is barreling down on the economically elite nations of the world:
Revelation 6:6
Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
6 Then I heard what sounded like a voice from among the four living beings say, “Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages! Six pounds of barley for the same price! But don’t damage the oil or the wine!”
I do a lot of outside reading from those in the financial world, who are not drinking the “Kool-Aid” the US administration is giving out, declaring that we are in an economic recovery. A seeming consensus has formed among those in the financial world that handles 10’s of billions of dollars and are successful that states, 2014 will see the collapse of the US dollar, and the beginning of all that this means. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t buy into their remedies for all of this. But what happens in the physical realm will always parallel the spiritual realm. The evidences will be clearly seen and felt. The US and the world is in such “darkness” now:
Pope Francis declaring that homosexual Priest are okay
Homosexual marriage and “Pharmakeia” (the sorcery of Babylon), both legal and illegal, becoming the accepted norm.
Most of our television, movies, and music show this activity as being the norm and to be desired, with having Faith in Messiah being dragged through the dirt.
Most of the population is concerned about one thing-being entertained. It is pervasive down to even pre school children.
Sodom was a lesson for all of those who would follow their example. We need to realize, this wasn’t just about some immoral men and women doing these things in Sodom and Gomorrah. These practices had become the norm and were desired above all else, enabled and promoted by the rulers and the inhabitants of these towns- (aka America).
We see when Lot, his wife, and two daughters were told to leave that his wife looked back with regret for having to leave. We also see lots daughters infected with the sins of the cities in their incestuous dealing with their father (Lot’s wife and daughters representing those of the religious community who have sold out to these deplorable life styles, or at the least the acceptance of them).
In the past you have posted your timeline on the events that are leading up to the return of Messiah. I would like for you to post it again, in relation to what is said above, and also your personal thoughts on the things written above, if and when you are able to.
Shalom my Brother
Al,
Al,
Great reply/comments.
I agree with the Lot family representing most of the evangelical church. This church moved into the city of “sin”, established residence in the mists of “sin”, participating in social events, entertainment and became active with “big player” politics (seated at the gate).
This “moving in and participating in” is just the opposite of “being in the world not of the world” (John 15:19).
The moving In is submerging into the culture (totality of social, economic, political, etc). This is not sober minded but intoxicated with the culture. There becomes a lack of clear thinking (sober), drinking the cup of her fornications (Mystery Babylon), which is the culture of the West (USA).
Yes – there are spiritual consequences to being in world’s culture: Lot’s wife was emotionally attached (looking back) and Lot and his daughters were “infected” by it. In the “spiritual warfare” context – Lot and his daughters were oppressed by sexual demons. Those demons manifested under pressure/stress.
I’m thinking the evangelical church has much in common with Lot and his family too.
The Lot family was so engaged with the affairs of the city (culture) that they did not recognize their spiritual condition. They were not sober minded about these matters.
This is like the frog in the pot of water (cool then boiling to death). When Lot’s family did get pulled out of the hot water( thank you Lord), before the water boiled over, they were not in good mental or spiritual condition. It was a shock being pulled out – affecting their minds, emotions. It was not a pleasant transition.
As for darkness and light – this is on my mind over the past few months.
The world is in darkness (under the rule of the Prince of Darkness) and does not comprehend the light (Kingdom of God, which is the Spirit of God). The Kingdom is not earthy matters or regarding the flesh (Romans 14:17).
“…for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
This “joy” is not happiness or pleasure. It is joy in wisdom, understand and knowing (Proverbs chapters 3 and 4). God help us.
So, I’ll try to apply “the Lot principle”.
The evangelical church is grieving the Holy Spirit (Light) by living in the world (partakers of Sodom and Gomorrah). The evangelical church moved in and settled into the culture of Sodom, grieving the Sprit of Truth (John 16:13).
“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come” (John 16:13, ESV).
When Lot moved into the city and participated in the culture – it grieved the Spirit of Truth. The Spirit to Truth (Isaiah 11:2) that was in the Beginning was was with Abraham, shining upon Abraham (not dwelling within him).
I’m thinking the foolish virgins and wise virgins in these days as I listen to evangelicals discuss “the Bible” and reading/ hearing their words of wisdom and interpretation of news/events. They are void of the fullness of the Sprit of Truth (all 7) because they grieve the Spirit of Truth.
Do I “know it all”?
No. But, I know Truth when I hear it.
The “Spirit of your Father” and the “Spirit of truth” are the 7 Spirits of God (Isaiah 11:2, then see Rev. 2:2 and 4:5).
1) The Lord
2) Fear
3) Knowledge
4) Council
5) Might
6) Understanding
7) Wisdom
Jesus told His followers (disciples) that the Spirit of Truth (the fullness of the list above) will come to them. It is the complete, fullness of God in Spirit (Genesis 1:2).
The Spirit guides us to all truth. We can not know “truth” (Pilot’s and man’s quest) without Jesus.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father but through me” (John 14:6, ESV).
I give thanks The Lord for sending the Spirit of Truth.
“He who has ears to hear, let him hear” (Matthew 11:15, 13:9).
“He who is able to hear, let him listen to and give heed to what the Spirit says…” (Revelation 2 and 3).
The evangelical church (Lot’s family) is not able to hear!
I think we are now discussing this page topic when I re-read this quotation from above:
“Yet we, who are covered by the blood of Jesus, who are filled with the Holy Spirit, have no such reflection on our countenance.”
Clue – The evangelical church is not “filled with the Holy Spirit. They have vessels that do not have enough oil (fuel). They are the foolish virgins who run out of the house seeking oil for their vessels (see list of 7 above).
“Buy truth, and do not sell it, Get wisdom and instruction and understanding (Proverbs 23:23).
“Then he taught me, and he said to me, “Take hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands, and you will live” (Proverbs 4:4).
Dear Lord help us. Holy Spirit – reveal to us our need to repent and fill us with the fuel of the Kingdom – Spirit of Truth.
I’ll post a reply on economy/finance (“Zero Hedge” approach) and timeline later.
Blessings
Psalm 27
Paul called the ten commandments written in stone the MINISTRATION OF DEATH… THIS WHOLE scenario keeps leading me back to original sin..
It is the ministration of death… The commandments were both god and evil…a blessing if you keep them and a curse if you don’t…
Satan was definately referring to a stone or stones in the temptation of Jesus…He wanted Jesus as does Matthew and Al to turn the stone commandments into bread…..I think th eminisration of death is the same cursed doctrines of Islam…I think these law lovers will be ushered into Islam ..I think their messiah mohammed will, like the law supercede Jesus and the Gospel..
I am not Jesus. But in order to better understand the ways and thoughts of Jesus, here is a way that is hard to beat. Listen to his voice. Read the words of Jesus, recorded in the New Testament by the Gospel writers Matthew Mark Luke & John. And try to speak the way Jesus speaks.
So many people are passionate in their feelings about “the law” and what it means to us today, and they think that “the law” may actually mean different things depending on the context. Fortunately, at least for me, the words of Jesus are my one sure unchanging standard, so “the law” means “the law of Moses” and nothing else- because Jesus said so. These are the words of Jesus, not my opinion about the words of Jesus. Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law, Paul mistakenly said He did, Jesus is right, Paul was wrong. It’s simple.
D.J. and Al… I believe the Bible says God will take the tares out of the church, not the righeous…I know Matthew and Al haves been removed…..But I am not certain Al was ever a Christian
e1313ruth,
The term Christian is abused by many commentators, secular authors, the media and folks who like to attach a label on someone.
It may be better to say that I am a servant of my Lord and Savior, Yeshua (Aramaic/Hebrew name) or Jesus (common name).
God’s Son is my Messiah. He is the Word made flesh. He is from the tribe of a Judah (King of the Jews). His mother was from the family of David (King of Israel). He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the Lamb of God (fulfilling the law, Leviticus 17:11).

“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen” (Hebrew 13:20-21).
DJ
Does this mean you think the words of Jesus (the Red Letters in some Bibles) are ABOVE all other words in the Bible or elsewhere?

Ruth,
“But I am not certain Al was ever a Christian”
You are probably right about that!
Al,
I like this sermon put to video. “That’s My King. Do you know Him?”
If I was present to hear this message live and in person – I’d be standing in agreement, clapping my hands and saying “Amen!”

I’ve attended such services. There is power in such preaching, giving encouragement to those who know what He did and does. A relationship with The Lord is wonderful.

Psalm 1 applies.
Your loss Al..JESUS IS THE GOD OF THE BEGINNING… The beginning is Genesis 1-1..Do you know there is no salvation or eternal life in old covenant???
Did you know Al that Moses hung a serpent on a pole and told the people if a serpent bite them to look upon the serpent and be healed… Did you also know that Hezeikiah broke down this serpent idol ….2 Kings 18-4…He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan….
God forbid He had not replaced the old covenant of Moses
Did you also know that the hebrew root of the word serpent is divination, fortune telling, observing signs, etc.. It is essentially astrology lore..
Seems like the serpent in Eden taught men the pharisees doctrines, and astrology ..Aboult like Mark Blitz and his blood moon theory..
Al,
I am ure you are familar with Mark Blitz and his wonders in the Heavens, the blood moons and eclipse, etc..
His theory of the wonders in heaven is nothing but divination which is strickly forbidden by God…
The wonders in heaven are in Rev. 12-1 and 3 and chapter…The very first verse shows the first wonder….All one has to do is understand it…Easy as I see it..
Rev 12-1…And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: Herein we have the wonders in Heaven, the sun and the moon and the stars that fall from heaven..The second wonder is verse 3..This wonder is the firey dragon who is draging the stars ouf of the heavenly realm with his lies about old covenant, and Islam, etc. These stars of heaven are the adopted children of Abraham, aka Christians…These stars are falling,, Thank you mark blitz and Al and Matthew, and Islam… The good news is Christians win this battle and that should scare the daylights out of you…
Nothing will scare those who are of this world system. It will not be until Christ’s calls the Angles to gather the tares will those who worshiped themselves, or other false gods, will be scared.
G-d has already won the war by dying for us. G-d’s laws are righteous, and Old Knob knows his New Age lies are exposed. But, we have a little further to go.
Stay strong, and peace to you.
To followers of Jesus:
Jesus said:
“If anyone is ashamed of ME and MY WORDS in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.” [Mark 8:38]
Jesus didn’t say “The Bible” or “Scripture” or “Paul’s words”…..
Speaking about Himself, the name above all names and the voice above all voices, Jesus said ME and MY WORDS. The words of Jesus, recorded by The Apostle Matthew, Mark, Luke, & The Apostle John. We need to be face to face with Jesus.

NO ONE here puts Paul above Jesus
Marianne
About a year ago, I had a conversation with an Evangelical leader right after he had preached a sermon. (This worship service was part of a large well-known church.) It started like this:
Me: Do you believe that Paul is equal to Jesus?
Him: No.
Me: Do you believe that Paul’s WORDS are equal to the WORDS of Jesus?
Him: Yes.
Me: Why?
Him: All Scripture is God-breathed.
Paul wrote “All Scripture is God-breathed” in the middle of a short personal letter to his friend Timothy. No other writer in the pages of the Bible ever said such a thing, and neither did Jesus. (Peter wrote about PROPHECY of Scripture, not ALL Scripture.)
So Biblically, if you believe ” All Scripture is God-breathed” you believe it for one reason- because Paul said so, once, in a personal letter.
Do you believe that all the words of the Bible (including Paul’s words) are EQUAL to the words of Jesus, or BELOW the words of Jesus?
I think you are trying to trap people into a conclusion they do not believe in.
You have your own interpretation to the question you ask, which does not match the interpretation that it meant to be.
NO one considers themselves above jesus, and no one considers anyone else above Jesus
However, if Jesus inspires someone to say something, then what they say is equal to what jesus said because jesus is the one who gave them that message.
this is different from one expressing one’s own opinion….
RIGHT ON MARIANNE!!!!!
Matthew thinks he can interrpret all scripure without the holy ghost teacher…He also apparently thinks all but Jesus words are not inspiried of God but of man…
JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD That says it all…He is that spirit that indwelled all writers of the Bible.. both o.t. and n.t…
Llook up hebrew roots cults..It is world wide and I am beginning to equate with synagogue of satan of Rev. 3-8, 9 …I, also after listening to a messianic jew sermon today lying about Jesus and presenting another Jesus think they will accept Mohammed or his return as their messiah..at least the hypocrites among the jews will..
Well, this is the heart of the difference. It’s the same text we look at, the 66 books of Scripture that we call The Bible. I say words of Jesus are above all other words in this text (and elsewhere).
You say no, “All Scripture is God-breathed” because Paul said so. You are letting this one verse from one personal letter of Paul define how to look at all 66 books. Theologically you are making the words of Paul equal to the words of Jesus. But practically speaking you are putting the words of one man, Paul, above the words of Jesus.
matthew
If you misquote me one more time, or anyone else for that matter, I will have to suspend you, until you can properly and honestly discuss a matter and comprehend what others say.
I did not say what you just said I said….and you are misquoting me deliberately.
Moses gave a message….jeremiah….Isaiah…zechariah….daniel…..matthew, luke, mark and john all gave messages without quoting jesus every second.
people speak as the spirit gives them the words.
the spirit speaks what the Father in heaven directs…..and even Jesus quotes the Father.
So a message is either from God or it isn’t…..
Your conclusions are false, and if you so dense that you cannot get the point, I suggest you pray more, read more, and then get back to us.
Marianne
Jesus said: “Heaven and earth will pass away, but MY WORDS will never pass away.” [Matthew 24:35]
I am saying the words spoken by Jesus, written down by 4 witnesses Matthew Mark Luke & John, (the Red Letters in the New Testament) are ABOVE all other words. Above Moses, the Prophets, the Psalms and other Writings, and above the New Testament letters, including the letters of Paul. Not equal, but above (although I believe Jesus harmonizes with the Torah and the Prophets.)
I don’t see Jesus saying anything about “harmonizing” His words with the New Testament letters. The famous passage quoting Jesus, that He did not come to abolish the law or the prophets but to fulfill them causes a lot of debate about what “fulfill” means, and when and to what extent, etc. [Matthew 5:17-20] But it does IMPLY that after everything is accomplished, the law will disappear someday.
But the words of Jesus will never pass away. So the spoken words of Jesus, recorded by the 4 Gospel writers, are above all other words in the Bible and elsewhere. This is my view.
You wrote:
“a message is either from God or it isn’t…..”
I would respond that if Jesus spoke it, then I’m sure it’s a message from God, because Jesus is God, and He established his testimony with 4 witnesses. The words spoken by Jesus are my standard to evaluate other words, such as the letters of a travelling teacher evangelist who came later.
Jesus reminded us that a matter should be established by the testimony of two or thee witnesses. Jesus didn’t even make an exception for Himself, so we certainly should not make an exception for Paul or any other man.
then you read only the red lettered words in the bible and forget everything else written…..
No. In the Orthodox view, the 4 Gospels are above the rest of the Bible, not equal. This is also my view. God gives us priorities, and the words of Jesus are first. in this view. The words of Jesus are the standard to measure everything else by. Jesus has no equal, and His words have no equal.
I know that the current unconscious Evangelical understanding is that somehow, Paul is the exception to the rule, and if Paul wrote it (or even just said it) then it must be true. Based on the text of the Bible, this is the understanding that I am challenging.
“God-breathed” is a term invented by Paul in his letter to Timothy, and no one else in the Bible used it, so it’s hard to know exactly what Paul meant by it. But certainly, Jesus didn’t believe that all Scripture is equal.
So the words of the Father all through the OT are beneath the words of jesus.?
How do you know that “Jesus didn’t believe that all Scripture is equal?”
Where did he say that?
Matthew Is Jesus ashamed of you and your words about Paul???
Lots of Christians know Hebrew rots is a blashpemous cult that badmouths Paul first… and it is just the beginning to caue people to doubt the Bible ..They know it is satan’s trick to lead men backward into the old covenant which leads to death..
Check it out online… HEBREW ROOTS cult
One of my daughters, the rebellious one has been writing the world GOD as G-D and calling God YHVH….She has also changed dramatically and she has been sick and had some accidents…After encountering Matthew I finally understood what is wrong with my daughter..She is being programmed by messianic Jew-Hebrew rots cult..I think her accidents and bad health have been brought on because she is punishing herself for what she deems sin-hence the curse of the 10 commandments in lieu of faith and more…..plus she has lost the faith that is required for healing, etc… She has promised me she will investigate the information deeming these as cults..
Matthew is in very bad shape…He cannot even accept truth even though he is shown repeatedly…
Satan made a bad mistake seducing my daughter……I personally like crushing his lying head….means to expose his lies…
Sister Ruth,
Unfortunately, you are the modern day equivalent, if you will, of what the religious Jews were in the days of Messiah. Full of hate and venom concerning things you have no understanding of. Listen to yourself…..you spew hatred for those who believe in Yahshua-Jesus, whichever you choose to call Him. You never try and bring peace, understanding, or reconciliation; only anger. Your portrayal of Heaven, full of people with a condescending attitude, doesn’t sound very appealing. You stand out in a special way; your divisive tone and words. What do you hope to achieve will all of this?
Al, Again I say I am not your sister….We have different spiritual fathers..God shows us who his children at the baptism of Jesus…He was baptised in water and received holy ghost and God declared Him a Son…This is true for all Christians who are baptisd in water and spirit…
Al I see no hate in my previous post…But I do see deception and lies and betrayal in the hebrew rots cults.
I do not think these cults even realize they are being set up to receive the false messiah who claimed he was the prophet like Moses in Deut 18-18..That being mohammed..
If you call it hate because I will shout the truth from the housetops about satan’s deceptions then you have a problem of hate not me.
Al, are you aware of the fact that while Moses was getting the 10 commandments from God the Israelites were playing footsie with sin the moon god, aka golden calf..???..Are you also aware of the fact the 10 commandments were a blessing and a curse and they positive led to death under old covenant…Jesus did away with the punishments, etc..His blood and the beating ensure we do not have to be stoned, killed, or hands and feet cut off as did the Israelites when they broke the law..As did also the pharisees to Christians…What kind of a God did these pharisees serve??? Only satan would treat men in this manner..
Are you aware that Jesus was not a jew-..He was an israelite….His baptism is what makes Christians into Christians …Likewise with Jesus..
We are living right now in the hour of temptation of Rev 3-9, 10 whereby satan is worshipped as the god, of Abraham, hence synagogue of satan…His followers are those who say they are jews but are not… These are hebrew rots and Islam… And I promise you those that do not accept the real Jesus will accept the false prophet who claims he is the prophet like Moses, aka mohammed..Islam also teaches all the punishments of old covenant..
Is this warning HATE or a warning to help??
I think the wording and tone can be a little less scalding.
Matthew,
Jesus spoke the following to the Pharisees: From Matthew 22.
Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question, saying, “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “The son of David.” He said to them, “How is it then that David, in the Spirit, calls him Lord, saying,
“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
“Sit at my right hand,
until I put your enemies under your feet”’?
If then David calls him Lord, how is he his son?” And no one was able to answer him a word, nor from that day did anyone dare to ask him any more questions.
Here, Jesus says the words of David were written “in the Spirit”
John 16:13 says the following, Red letters.
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
John 7:38 “Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” Red letters again
Acts 2:4 “4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
What we see here is that Jesus states that what is written “In the Spirit” is scripture. The question then is was the writing of Paul Written in the Spirit, and called scripture by the other apostles, to which the answer is yes. See 2 Peter 3:16. Did Paul speak “In the Spirit”? Yes see acts 13:1-12. Now mind you, in this passage he was in the presence of John the apostle. Certainly John would have said something against Paul, and or the writings in the book of Acts, had this not been so. Also, John, the longest living of the apostles would have corrected his protégé Clement of Rome, who extensively wrote of Paul and his writings, equating them with Scripture.
Acts 1:8 the then resurrected Jesus calls these apostles “My witnesses”. So if I were to accept your understanding, it would be contrary to the testimony of Jesus’ appointed witnesses (Not just four, but all 11). Both Peter and John stood by Paul, and endorsed him, and his ministry. So either you are wrong, or they are wrong. If they are wrong, then Jesus was wrong in picking such poor witnesses, which leads me to suggest that you repent for that is what you are doing in denying that Paul was led by the Spirit in his writings.
I wrote you earlier, that if Paul or James or any of the writers of the NT do not fit your theology, then the problem is your theology/understanding. The correct theology will harmonize with all of scripture, from James to Paul, to David, and Solomon, and Moses, and Job and Isaiah. If it was written in the Spirit, then it is scripture. The framework I gave you, has all of scripture harmonize, and Point to Jesus. The one you hold to has a problem with the teachings of Paul, so you have to discredit him. So here, I have used the words of Jesus to point out your error. It takes a man to admit their error, and I suggest that you do so before the Lord rebukes you for your false teaching.
This could be your last chance to do so? That goes for any who hold to a theology that has to explain away the teachings of Paul. Because in denying him, you are denying the testimony of Jesus.
Sandyshore,
You wrote: “The correct theology will harmonize with all of scripture.”
You are begging the question, assuming all Scripture is equal and should “harmonize.” That is why you have been unwilling to compare Paul’s words with Jesus’ words. You have already decided that Paul must be right, even if he contradicted Jesus (such as the most important commandment). So then you are trained to think that Paul didn’t really mean what he said, he really means something else- because Paul couldn’t be wrong.
I’m saying that the only things that harmonize in Scripture are the words and actions of Jesus with the Law and the Prophets- not all Scripture.
Regarding Luke’s Scripture record in Acts, do you think every word that Paul SPOKE and everything Paul DID was also inspired by the Holy Spirit and can’t be questioned or examined? If not, can you give a few specific examples of something Paul said or did that was clearly wrong?
What you are really saying Matthew is that Jesus was only a man and did not know the past or the future and was conned by an evil man named Paul…
The reason you do this is because Paul exposed your cult from h… to breakfast..
You uphold the pharisees and their laws though Jesus himself said they were serpents and children of satan and these killed Jesus and most apostles… The pharisees were of satan and so is hebrew rots group..
Do you really think badmouthing a man who died for Jesus and for humanity is going to win you favor from anyone but satan??
Hi Marianne,
You asked me QUOTE:
“So the words of the Father all through the OT are beneath the words of jesus.?”
There is a whole chapter of Scripture that answers this point well- the anonymous Letter to the Hebrews, chapter 1, beginning with:
“In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things….”
You asked me, QUOTE:
“How do you know that “Jesus didn’t believe that all Scripture is equal?”
Where did he say that?”
I’ve already made numerous posts about this point, where I’ve typed out Scripture backup. I’m not sure it makes sense to repeat them. So I’m wondering, is there any reason to believe that Jesus DID believe that all Scripture is equal? I don’t see any- but rather the opposite.
I am acknowledging the 66 books of the Bible as all Scripture, but a collection of writings, not “one book.” It is a false argument to say that either the whole Bible is God’s word or none of it is.
It was the Pharisees who started to blur the distinctions between the 3 categories recognized by Jesus, Law Prophets & Writings, and say that all Scripture is the word of God. Jesus specifically criticized them for treating the Psalms as the law. Paul continued this tradition of the Pharisees.
If “All Scripture is God-breathed” and there is no clear distinction in order, priority or authority level, then the people with the power in this system will be the experts in the law and Pharisees- very convenient for them.
sorry, but I see no relevance in this discussion, and I am not interested in it. …we both believe what we believe….what is really important is the salvation through the blood of Jesus.
Jesus was speaking to the pharisees when he spoke of things written the THEIR LAW….
John 10-34..Jesus answered them, Is it not WRITTEN IN YOUR LAW, I said, Ye are gods?
John 10-35..If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;
Both God and Satan made a reference to man being gods…Once in psalm which is not the law so it would appear the other one which is in the law is the one Jesus was speaking of..
WHICH OF THESE SCRIPTURES WOULD BE CONSIDERED OF THE LAW..
Psalms 82-6,.I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
Genesis 3-..5….For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. .
The serpent was presenting his words as the word of God…
It certainly apppears that God declared the end from the beginning and the serpents, aka pharisees are telling people they have the true words of God, AND they will be as Gods and live forever if hey eat these words and obey the laws in the five books of Moses..
According to what I have read ,the first five books of Moses is THE LAW….So it certainly appears Jesus was referring to the verse in Genesis 3 when He spoke of the law and gods….
If true it means the law played a part in original sin..It is also a possibility that this verse is about future events..
Perhaps Jesus calling the pharisees serpents so often had a definite purpose. So we would connect them to the serpent in the garden….
AND Jesus told the pharisees they were children of Satan and they did the deeds of their father Satan… Lying ,especially about God’s words, and killing..
LAW OF MOSES…
Luke 2-23..Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?..MOSES LAW????? Really??? Whose law was it Moses or Gods????
The law will pass away when heaven and earth pass away and we have a new heaven and new earth…I think we are approaching that day now…Perhaps that is what all the Hebrew rots is about… They are being exposed..and we all are learning new things…
Matthew 5-18…For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth PASS, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled….
Does this means the law will pass away in the new heaven ND new earth??
Rev 21-1..And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were PASSED AWAY,; and there was no more sea.
Matthew when you grow up you will understand that you do not understand…You and all of us are incapable of understnding god’s words without revelation from God…The holy Ghost beathed on the prophets and revealed prophecies.. The hly ghost comforter does likewise today to reveal the Bible…
Contrary to what the serpent said in the Garden you are not as smart as God in understanding good and evil and consequently that means you not only can’t decipher the bible correctly you really do not know god from the imposter..likewise his words.
If you make Christians angry when you badmouth the apostle Paul what do you think God feels about it…
Matthew what d these verse means????
John 14- 8, 9..Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
V.9..Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
God said he love me
