Jesus describes the end times as similar to 2 biblical events, with lessons to be learned from them.

Days of Noah

“Flesh” had corrupted the earth – ungodly union of fallen angels and mankind – violence fills the earth

Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown.

Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.

Gen 6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repents me that I have made them.

Gen 6:11

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

Business as usual

Luk 17:26

And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

Luk 17:27

They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

After the flood, God had promised not to destroy the world by water again.

Gen 9:11

And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

Apparently, God switched to fire and brimstone for local, and maybe global, punishment for sin.

Days of Lot – Fire and brimstone – from natural or supernatural sources, or both

"Brimstone," possibly the ancient name for sulphur, evokes the acrid odor of volcanic activity.

Business as usual – just as in Noah’s time

Luk 17:28

Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

Flesh had corrupted the city

Gen 18:20 And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous;

Luk 17:29

But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all.

Luk 17:30

Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

Command to flee- the abomination has occurred, and we are not to be a part of it

Luk 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

Mat 24:15

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso reads, let him understand:)

Mat 24:17

Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

Mat 24:18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

Jerusalem, and the world, will be like Sodom in the final days before Christ’s return, because the antichrist will have taken over with all his abominations.

“Fleeing out of Sodom” is a type of our fleeing from that state of sin. Sodom is a city full of filthiness and abominations.

Sodom is a city full of devils and all unclean spirits: there they have their rendezvous, and there they have their dominion. There they sport, and wallow in filthiness, as it is said of mystical Babylon, Rev. xviii. 2.

Babylon is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

The tribulation follows the command to flee

Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Lots wife looks back to what she had

Luk 17:32 Remember Lot’s wife.

Lot’s wife looked back, because she remembered the pleasant things that she left in Sodom.

Puzzle ???

After being TOLD to flee, presumably to save one’s life, we are then told that if we seek to save our lives, we will lose them

Luk 17:33

Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

Those that do not flee, that are stationary, also are in danger.

The ones “taken” end up with where the eagles gather.

Eagles gather in the air, not on the ground.

They are killed?

And the ones left behind seem to survive.

Luk 17:34

I tell you, in that night there shall be two [men] in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

Luk 17:35

Two [women] shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Luk 17:36Two [men] shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Luk 17:37

And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body [is], thither will the eagles be gathered together.

So far, we are told to flee, but if we act to save our lives, we die?

So why are we told to flee?

–

Losing one’s life

In Matthew, this puzzle is also mentioned, and it seems more to be a spiritual loss, rather than a physical one.

Mat 10:38 And he that takes not his cross, and follows after me, is not worthy of me.

Mat 10:39 He that finds his life shall lose it: and he that loses his life for my sake shall find it.

In Matthew, we hear of dying for our faith.

We have to be ready to pick up our cross, and possibly die.

But how does that correlate with the fleeing commanded of us in Luke?

Spiritual fleeing

The only thing that seems to make sense is that the fleeing from the city of Jerusalem is physical, but the fleeing from spiritual Babylon, and the Sodom that Jerusalem will become under antichrist, is spiritual.

If we flee from sin, then we save our soul (eternal life).

We may flee sin, but die physically, as we may suffer death, because of that cross before us.

If we flee from Jerusalem when the abomination occurs, then we may save our physical lives and our soul.

For those who look back, like Lots’ wife, longing to return, they will perish spiritually, and maybe physically.

What about taking those who are stationary off to die?

This seems comparable to the parable of the wheat and the tares.

The tares are removed first, then the wheat is gathered up.

Those that are taken, are given to the eagles (vultures), birds of prey.

The Greek word for “eagle” here is “aetos,” on account of its wind- like flight.

Root word for “aetos” is

“Aer” – where the word aerodynamic comes from

Meaning:

1) the air, particularly the lower and denser air as distinguished from the higher and rarer air

2) the atmospheric region

–

Here, there is no command to flee.

This is a separate event, independent of a specific final choice to flee or stay, but reflective of a life of choices.

A question is: who is taking them, and how do the takers know who to take?

–

Who:

The clue is in the word “aetos” or root word “aer”

They will be taken to where the creatures (eagles, birds of prey, vultures, etc) or “those in air flight,” gather together, ie. into the atmosphere.

–

Taken:

These tares or wicked will be taken into the air! – Not left on the ground. !

They are going into the air, but they are not going to heaven!

This is due to an agreement already present at the time between the taker and the taken.

–

Apparently, since the “wheat” is still there, it indicates there has been no rapture yet, or no second coming.

It is an earlier event during, or prior to, the tribulation / wrath period.

So, what is it?

The Ascension and 2012

In anticipation of “earth changes,” new age believers have their own rapture, with biblical overtones.

It is a shift in consciousness, and a “activated change in DNA,” dimensional ascension of the earth, where “God” takes people, not Jesus.

“Christ consciousness,” not Christ, is the key.

–

If DNA is being changed, it is because it has been manipulated ahead of time.

According to one source, there has been a “vaccination” for those chosen.

What is in the vaccine?

It is a metaphysical, psychic, 5 dimensional experience.

This is expected to occur in 2012. So, this is a prelude to the tribulation, or is at the beginning of it.

After the ascension during the winter equinox in 2012, “enlightened” humans will go through many changes in their DNA, and their genetic structure will be altered.

–

This creates new powers and abilities. Heaven is not mentioned. It is just a “divine energy.”

A “magnetic pole shift” is to occur about or around the year 2012, with massive worldwide flooding, and this is the angel of light’s rescue of his own.

According to “Ascension,” beings from another world will rescue their “offspring” in a “rapture event” comparable to the one with Jesus and his bride.

Final note:

So, if we seem to be missing a “rapture event” in the future, do not be concerned.

There is a better one to follow with Jesus.

If we choose to save our life, by staying in Sodom, staying with the antichrist and his ways, or going in the Ascension, we will die.

If we choose to lose our life, by fleeing “Sodom” and the antichrist, facing possible “fire and brimstone,” and we wait on YHVH God and His Messiah Jesus (Yeshua), we will have eternal life.
