God’s Mark
–
We hear a lot about the mark of the beast.
What does YHVH God’s mark look like?
–
Ezechiel 9:4
And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and that be done in thset a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations e midst thereof.
–
John 16: 20
Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
–
–
While it is somewhat common to meet pleasant saints who love the Lord, and celebrate Him, it is rare to meet those who actually mourn, grieve, and lament over sin.
The question is,
“how holy are we, that we do not grieve as God does, over the sins of the world, and the lost souls?”
Are we so cold and indifferent to the heart of God, that we just do not give any thought to what pains Him?
–
–
The Lord once chastised me.
I was enjoying my new found born again experience.
I attended my prayer meetings, and worship services.
I enjoyed the fellowship with others.
I enjoyed bible studies, and the move of the Holy Spirit.
–
–
Then, one day, I was returning home, and I felt a sorrowful, heavy burden.
I was outside, and I came in my front door.
I made it to the center of the room, and then
Suddenly
I was struck to my knees.
–
The Lord spoke:
“You want to know my joy, but you do not want to know my pain!”
–
I cried out, I felt so guilty.
It was like a knife went into my heart.
He was right.
From then on, my life changed.
–
Many sorrows came into my life.
Much injustice.
Much illness.
Much evil intent from others.
Much persecution and affliction.
Much indifference by others to the pain I felt.
I was alone.
There was no compassion.
No mercy.
–
I came to know a little, what the cross felt like.
To die daily, and not feel mercy.
–
–
The Mark
If the mark of YHVH God is
grieving over the sins and sorrows that break God’s heart,
then maybe the mark of the beast
is rejoicing over sin, and causing sorrow.
–
Just my thought.
–
God will put his name YHVH on those who feel His pain, and Satan will put his mark on those who don’t.
I wish I had the right words-I can’t speak what I can’t put into words, but I sure enough understand what you mean..
Amen. Your words are mine.
Such sorrow I feel now, it will be strange that joy ever really comes, but the Word promises “beauty for ashes”.
Hi Marriane,
Just a note, the beast and the false prophet during that time will not force anyone to receive that mark, as it will be received wilfully by those who love their own lives more than God. Furthermore, that mark will be received by those whose names that were never written in the book of life before the world began (Rev.17:8). While this is a controversial issue, it is God who did the choosing before the world began. It is God who had names written in his book before anything even got started.
“For those God (Foreknew) he also (predestined) to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the first born among many brothers. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” (Rom.8:28-30)
And
“In him we were also (chosen), having been (predestined) according to the (plan) of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.” (Eph.1:11-12)
“Yet, before the twins were born or had done anything good or bad—in order that God’s purpose in election might stand: not by works but by him who calls—she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” Just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses,
“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
It does not, therefore, depend on man’s desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.
The people who will worship the beast, his image and who receive his mark, will do so because their names were never written in the book of life before the world began and it is God who has mercy upon whom he will have mercy and compassion upon whom he will have compassion. Not only that, but it is also written, no person can come to the Son except the Father draws him.
The bottom line is that the opportunity for salvation is not in the hands of the individual, but it is God who chose us and wrote our names in his book somewhere in eternity. And it is God who justifies the wicked. Those who receive the mark of the beast will do so by their own decision, to save their own lives. For those who would think that this is unfair, it is also written,
“Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use?”
Just something to consider ……………………………..
Hi Don
I agree with what you are saying. I was seeing how mercy and compassion for the heart of God would “fit in” with the “qualifications” for God’s mark. Works and human effort, however, would not contradict, or be a substitute for, God’s election.
Taking these verses out of the context of the Bible and the mystery of creation is Just-a-Vacation by faith…as a Lutheran pastor called it.
Just old Calvinism. If our loving God created millions for no other reason that just to die and suffer in hell, how does that bring glory to Him?

God had chosen us from the beginning and had put a mark on us and set us to fulfilled our destiny. Eventhough it looks as simple that, it is not. The problem starts when this mark can be seen not with our eyes, but in the spirit and the spirit has a form or a shape. This spirit with a anatomy form has a color too. This color is the light that we had heard so many times in the bible. This light that glows inside of us can also be our calling card to the devil and fallen angels who can inmediately recognize it. That’s why we children of God encounter more temptations than any other human beings. We fall and rise again. We die and we live again. Everyday. But one thing is for sure, the devil can tempt us but can not touch us. That is our insurance. But if we die doing the right thing, our death will not be unnoticed and that itself is a fulfillment.
Don’t know about an exclusively spirit ‘color or shape’ because Mat 5:16 suggests humans can see something. There might be visible anatomy in both dimensions, but for sure the demonic clearly sees Holy Guardian Angels watching over we sheep, so there is no mystery in the spiritual realm which kingdom a human belongs to.
Mat 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Thank you josem6768, for your VERY edifying post!
WOW! I use to wonder up until this point why nothing went right for me being that I am a good person at heart. I felt so heavy in my heart at times for no reason to where I would cry. It’s so amazing that I came across what you had to say. Now I know how God feels when we do things that are against his will. At this very moment, I have been enlighten to pursue God even more to give me the knowledge he so want us to have. By reading what you posted, imagine how many souls would be saved!Thank you Marianne for your knowledge and inspirations. You are truly Blessed. For sure, thank you or Blessing me at this very moment. WOW!!!! God IS TRULY AWESOME.
Sentence the deal
And deal off the sentence
While pretense faces the deal
Off the mark.
Whichever way shadows the deal,
Shadow off the way
And mark out the time
Off the space.
Speed up the space
Of love
And shorten the time
For you and me
Lest
We all vanish away
In the set truce
Eyeing us all
In the mall wheel
Like in the dongeon
Of death…
but
Hurrah !
The time will be shortened
Just for You me
Like in the eve.
Live
And
Let’s live together
With God’s Mark everywhere we may go.
thanks for the sharing.
The Lord living inside ‘the least of these’ makes a durable living record of what compassion unto action was done, or not done. Kinda makes you wanna search out for and heal Holy Spirit’s dwelling places doesn’t it?
======================================================================
Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Mat 25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
“those whose names that were never written in the book of life before the world began” rev
Yes it’s interesting that isn’t it. Before the world was created those in the book of life were already in the book of life, even before Adam and Eve were created. Christ must have been the beginning (the alpha). The world was then created ‘in the Beginning’.
Shalom David,
Just hopping in here for a moment please don’t take me wrong – When you say “Christ must have been the beginning (the alpha).” You bet He is, for He is TORAH, which means ALEPH TAV, BEGINNING & END, TORAH is YESHUA also means SALVATION, the WORD-OF-YHWH, (Jn 1:1-In the Beginning was the Word & the Word was with G-d and the Word was G-d). TORAH is not legalism as some people believe but is the Instructions for our lives and the choice He gives us even though He created us, and much more … I can’t think of any other god offering this kind of package deal.
Blessings in Yeshua Messiah. Have a nice day!!
Yes but it does imply that some were not in the book of life from the beginning and still are not. Who are these people?
You know what, my emphasis was actually on the word “Alpha” that you mentioned .. but re. the Mark, yes, you are right. Not everyone’s name is written in the Book of Life. We must not forget that there were the two seedlines starting from the Garden of Eden – one seed is the ‘seed of YAH(G-D)’ and I don’t just mean the Israelites. The other is the ‘seed of satan’ that still exists today through whom will come the antichrist=satan’s heir(we know he is ready to appear in the very near future.) This is the seed I believe who all are not in the Book of Life. I also believe that Yeshua(Jesus) did not die for everyone – why would He die for the seed of satan? Majority of us know who they are.
Joy is a component of the fruit of the spirit of a true Christian. They ask
Jesus why did his Apostles not fast? He said it was due to their still having
him with them! We are told to endure hardness.
Saints today are weeping continually in my opinion. How often do we not cry about the evil things going on and the many afflections being put upon
his saints. They are righteous because of him, his blood does all things
in his children. Those who love the night and the dark are not of his.
You must continue to press in even when you feel and have a broken and
contrite spirit. Praise God he is merciful and he loves us and he gives grace where it is needed as he knows his sheep are hunted. If he had not given us his grace through his blood we would none make it in, because as good as we might think we are we are as filthy rags before the Lord.
The window of time grows smaller and the opening of the close grows wider and his promises are unfolding. Have you ever noticed when you felt you could not go another step how he pulls you out and he lets you draw breath. I am grieved by things that go on. But I am this day wondering is the afflictions of the enemy or the Father who chasties those that he loves?
We are promised to pass under the rod if we love the Lord, it is his means of making us apart of his covenant and bond according to his word.
When I started to write this I half way through remembered a dream God
gave to me two months before my home and all worldly positions burned up.
I saw a man with black wavy hair and a rod walking up and down me like one does in a country lush with green pastuers and hills. His rod had
a ball on the end which looked like the globe and he had his hand upon
it and over the top of it was a peiece of metal like a handle you could put your hand through for greater control, it permitted the pickup of the rod and it permitted him to get full control on the ball which looked to be as a globe. I was so upside down in my thinking at the time that I thought it was witchcraft. I felt frightened. I was enduring one trauma after another in my life. I told this dream to a minister who helped in deliverance and he was
frightened.
I just now in writing this feel from the Lord that it was a dream that I was passing under my “Shepherds Rod”. I now know that God loves for me is so great that he took all of his time to unwind everything material thing that separated me from him through worldly gain. It makes me remember as Jesus said to the rich young man who followed all of the old Jewish laws and he inquired of Jesus, what must I do to enter in and he had done all but then he was told by Jesus to go and sell all that he had and give it to the poor. He went away sad. Human nature is to have a desire to have comfort. We are the comfort generation, every form of electrical machinery possible.
When God takes time to put you through the fire and to purge your sins and change your ways and stinking worldly thinking to kingdom thinking you know that you are loved.
He goes through your brain your heart and he discerns everything about us that is not right. He puts us in a fire that burns off the drost and when he has finished we are fit for his work, we are able to minister for his kingdom, we have understanding, we have love we have compassion for others and we can relate to all sorts of issues that others have with the right attitude. If you are going through something consider if you are under the rod, is God making you an instrument for his purpose. I further realize that our life when we give it to him is no longer ours.
He makes a covenant with each one of us and he will keep every promise but building even the kingdom of promise takes some inconvience, sweat, pain, sorrow and a lot of love while we look to the understanding of our purpose without rose colored glass we know that the God we serve is and has all control.
Be blessed.
This is my way of reading of personal lamentations from the bible in following order:
PSALM 88;
LAMENTATIONS 3:1-21;
ISAIAH 38:10-20;
JEREMIAH 20:7-18;
JOB 31-3:26;
JONAH 2;
PSALM 22;
Proverbs 3-12 through 18 says wisdom is a tree of life….This verse pretty much identifies the tree of life as being wisdom…
Revelation 13-8..And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world…This verse pretty much says the book of life (tree of life) was in existence before the foundation of the world….This book of life is identified as being the same book that Jesus the slain lamb brought to mankind…
The tree of life is the book of life… Men’s names have been written into this book over time….Some men’s names will be taken out of this book…This is accomplished when men wonder off into perverted versions of the Gospel and into Koran gospel…
The predestinated people are those who have been saved throughout time and will be transformed with the appearing of Jesus…We will then be like him….Eternal, incorruptible..
Ephesians 1-10,11.. Is about those who have been saved (written in the lamb’s book of life) through time and it is during the fullness of lime when all those written in the lamb’s book will be gathered..And some will be written out of the Lamb’s book of life at that time…
I think God is far too merciful and forgiving to predestinate us from before the world began…
..
“This verse pretty much says the book of life (tree of life) was in existence before the foundation of the world”
No it doesn’t. It says that the book of life was in existence before the foundation of the world. The tree of like IS the foundation of the world. The book of life is not the tree of life. Creation cut us off from the truth (Christ), Make of this what you will but it is true.
Before I post anything to this site, would you please state whether this is a discussion forum or a cult site?
hi darcy
This is a born again christian discussion site. But since it is a public site, any person can come and express differing viewpoints. As long as they do this peacefully, they are allowed. If they cause strife, then they can’t.
Occasionally, we do have unbelievers come, including atheists, agnostics, witches, and delusional people.
The goal is to reach the lost, not just have fellowship with other believers, so it is a hope that the unbelievers will learn something, or at least become more understanding of why we believe what we do. Sometimes, this works, sometimes it doesn’t .
Wonderful post!…Often I feel a type of sorrow while living on this earth & living in the midst of all kinds of daily sins, as we all do. I do grieve the sins of God’s people, there is a saddness because God, our Father, wants to give us all things, if we would look to Him. It is not ‘of darkness’ to see these things…for what can you heal if you see or feel nothing? It also not to send us into depression..that is the evil influence…it IS a test of our faith to know we can overcome in the name of our Lord. I truly believe that the gift of repentance, rejoicing & being thankful in the midst of “it all” & striving to please God (not perfection)brings His chosen ones under His protection. Our goal is to be disciples & reach the lost & bring them to know Jesus. As true believers, we need to fear not! We have the mark of His divine love!
are we crying over this?
§ 5. If the new moon of Kislev has arrived without the rain having yet descended, the tribunal of justice [בית דין] shall order three public and general fast-days, on which it is lawful to eat and drink on the nights preceding them, to work [on the days of the said fasts] to bathe, to anoint the body, to wear [leathern] shoes, and to perform the marriage duty.
§ 6: When these have passed, without their prayers having been favourably answered, the Beth Din shall decree three more public and general fasts, on which it will be lawful to eat and drink on the nights preceding them; but on which it is prohibited to work, to bathe, anoint the body, wear [leathern] shoes, and to perform the marriage duty, the [public] bathing places are also to be closed. Should these fasts also have passed over without their prayers having been favourably answered, the Beth Din shall decree seven more fast-days, which altogether make thirteen public and general fasts, these last fasts differ from the [six] preceding, inasmuch as on them an alarm is sounded [on the shophar], and the shops remain closed, excepting that on Mondays, towards the evening, the shop-shutters [of those who sell articles of food] may be [loosely] leaned on [that is, not fully closed, but in a slanting position], and on Thursdays, they may be entirely taken off, in honour of the [approaching] Sabbath.
§ 7. When these have also passed without their prayers having been favourably answered, they are to lessen or withdraw themselves from engaging in joyful transactions, the erecting of buildings, and planting of gardens for pleasure; from betrothings, weddings, and mutual greetings, like men who are under the displeasure of the Almighty; [pious] private individuals recommence fasting till the end of the month Nissan. When Nissan has elapsed without 12 rain it must be considered as a curse, for thus it is written [1 Sam. xiii. 17], “Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call unto the Lord, and he shall send thunder and rain.” 13
§ 1. What is the order of the [seven last] fast-days? The ark containing the rolls of the law is to be brought in an open place of the city; ashes of burnt [substances] are to be strewed on the heads of the [נשיא] prince, and of the chief of the tribunal of justice, and other persons shall also put ashes on their heads; the eldest among them shall then address them in heart-moving terms: “My brethren, consider that it is not written in respect to [the repentance of] the Ninevites, that God regarded their having wrapped themselves in sackcloth, and considered their fast-days, but that ‘God saw their acts, and that they had turned from their evil ways’ (Jonah iii. 10), and the tradition of the prophets also is, ‘Tear your hearts, and not your garments’ (Joel ii. 13).”
§ 2. When they have stood up to pray, they shall place at the reading-desk to minister an old experienced person, who has children, and whose house or family is free [from transgression], so that his mind may be entirely devoted to his prayer: he shall say twenty-four blessings, namely, the eighteen blessings of the daily prayer [Amidah], to which he shall add six more.
§ 3. Which are as follows:—texts of זכרונות and שופרות 1 [the Psalms cxx., cxxi., cxxx., and cii.), “In my distress I cried unto the Lord, and he answered me,” &c., “I raise my eyes unto the hills,” &c., “Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord,” &c., “A prayer for the afflicted when he is overwhelmed,” &c. R. Jehudah says it was not necessary to mention the זכרונות and שופרות, but the following passages instead are to he read, “When there is famine in the land, when there is pestilence in the land,” &c. (1 Kings viii. 37), and, “The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah concerning the dearth,” &c. (Jer. xiv.), the concluding blessing is then added to each.
(MISHNAH, TAANIT 1:5-7, 2:1-3;)
the world needs more mercy like this.

There is another interesting marking “upon the forehead of men that sigh and that cry for the abominations that are done in the midst of it [Jerusalem]” (Ezekiel 9:4, KJV). Seems to me that God considers the heart (will, intent of our actions) when making judgement. This is a prophetic chapter and I am seeking to know more about the 144,000. These are chosen and receive a mark – “until we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads” (Rev. 7:3).
I wonder if those that deeply lament (deep pain and grief) over the condition of the church (Jerusalem) throughout the world are chosen to proclaim the message of the Gospel in the last days?
DJ
I think those you mention may be the only ones who care enough to proclaim the gospel, when things get rough.
DJ,
Church by the End of Days would go corrupt, just like nation of Israel went corrupt before the destruction of Solomon’s Temple;
Corruption of Church by the endtimes would lead to the end of the church and “the time of the gentiles” just as betrayal of Messiah lead to the destruction of Israel’s commonwealth…devil sits in both synagogue and in churches, inhabitants on New Jerusalem will comprise of Men and Women of Faith who escaped temptation and corruption of modern day churches and synagogues;
For me Christianity stripped of its Jewish roots, just as Judaism stripped of grace and atonement by blood of Jesus Christ, are the two sides of the same evil, salvation can coe only by re-uniting Law of Moses with Gospel, first step would be making immaculate translation of New Testament in hebrew language and creation of Messianic “Siddur” Prayer Book, which was actually instituted by Ezra the Scribe.
What we should really lament is that Heavenly Jerusalem is not connected with Earthly Jerusalem and is in state of desolation:
5 And we are all become as one that is unclean, and all our righteousnesses are as a polluted garment; and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. 6 And there is none that calleth upon Thy name, that stirreth up himself to take hold of Thee; for Thou hast hid Thy face from us, and hast consumed us by means of our iniquities. 7 But now, O LORD, Thou art our Father; we are the clay, and Thou our potter, and we all are the work of Thy hand. 8 Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever; behold, look, we beseech Thee, we are all Thy people. 9 Thy holy cities are become a wilderness, Zion is become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. 10 Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised Thee, is burned with fire; and all our pleasant things are laid waste.
Isaiah Chapter 64
Thank you for your insightful post – “What we should really lament is that Heavenly Jerusalem is not connected with Earthly Jerusalem and is in state of desolation…” Then, linking Isaiah 64 is very powerful. I am moved to pray and will meditate upon my condition.
Blessings to you (Psalms1).
I’ve read all the above comments and noticed that there is no mention of what the real mark is of YHWH though the Scriptures are clearly mentioned in the ‘old covenant’. To receive the ‘mark’ of YHWH will determine our obedience and abiding by His instructions. YAHWEH had written it clearly with His fiery hand, and it was read out clearly and taught to the Israelites by Moses. Hence if gentiles are going to be grafted into the Holy Vine and receive the Mark, then it better be doing what the Almighty commanded us to do.
The following is YHWH’s Mark:
The letter ת ‘tav’ in pictograph (( click here for the pictograph form – http://www.ancient-hebrew.org/0_logo.html )) that is two crossed sticks which has the meaning of a covenant. We can choose the covenant of Life in Messiah Yahshuah(Isaiah 42:6; 49:8; Zechariah 9:11; Jeremiah 31:31; Matthew 26:28) or we can choose the covenant of death (Isaiah 28:15) which promises deliverance from death (ie the tree of life) but in reality leads to hell.
This root is related to את & תא = Torah – The ALEPH TAV את and means a Mark/boundary. This is the root for the word ‘Sign’. This is significant because the Torah is a SIGN ON THE HAND and on the FOREHEAD (Deuteronomy 6:8) – Read Deuteronomy 6:4-9, 11:13-2, Numbers 15:37-41(This is the SHEMA Prayer).
It shall be as a SIGN to you ON YOUR HAND and as a memorial BETWEEN YOUR EYES, that the Lord’s law may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand the Lord has brought you out of Egypt.
You shall therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year. Here we have a sign that would be on our hand and a memorial in our forehead (between our eyes). What is that sign? It was the keeping of Passover in chapter 12 and here in chapter 13. It is the keeping of the days of Unleavened Bread. A sign that we are to keep from year to year. This is the same sign that was put on the doorposts with the lamb’s blood on the night of the Passover.
(( Mark of God. Exodus 12:13.
The sprinkled blood on the door-posts was a token of redemption, a sign of God’s ownership, a pledge of security, and a mark of obedience. This mark secured the safety of those who exhibited it from the wrath and judgments of God. Deliverance from bondage and the last plague depended on their faith in the sprinkled blood which was symbolic of the blood of Christ, the Lamb of God. The angel of death passed over every home that had the mark of God’s approval and protection. His avenging sword was unsheathed in every other household in the land. The mark was an outward sign of obedience and showed that the inmates were worshipers of the true God and were obedient to His will. http://gospel-herald.com/t_bunch/eam/eam_ch6.htm ))
One can be a very good person, doing good works etc. etc. but if the SEVEN feasts of YHWH are not kept and TORAH is not followed diligently, then when we meet Yeshua face to face, He will not find our name in the book of life and the Mark on our hands and foreheads, then He will say “I do not know you” … this is something to ponder on seriously.
Blessings in Yeshuah Messiah
Sorry about the typing error in Scriptures. Should read: Read Deuteronomy 6:4-9, & 11:13-21
jewish hand and head mark
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tefillin
Yes, Marianne, that’s exactly what I am talking about it’s about observing the those very vital scriptures and the Torah itself. And though the Mark of YHWH will not be seen visibly, we know for sure that we are marked by Him and our name written in His Book of Life when we follow His every commandment.
Religious Jews pray by literally tying the Tefilin (phylacteries) on their foreheads and hands which has the Shema prayer placed inside it… but that’s fine it’s done with faith but we can just read the Shema in faith everyday 3 x day and follow the verses. These same scriptures are also placed in the Mezuzah that is fixed on every door in the home that when we pass in and out of the room or house it reminds us of the commandments. This way we are actually carrying YHWH’s Mark with us wherever we go and IT protects us.
Blessings
Hi Jes,
The laws of the Torah within that Tanakh were a shadow to a better and new more living Covenant that is now written in our hearts, (through the Spirit) rather than being merely script on stone, consisting of rules and regulations that were to be followed.
Each and every blood sacrifice that was made during the whole of the Mosaic, or Sinaitic Covenant was temporary, and the veil between man and the Holy of Holies remained intact. Whereas the singularity of Yeshua’s sacrifice was permanent and the veil was torn.
At Sinai, the climax of the revelation of God to Moses, was the commandment to construct the Mishkan, (or Tabernacle).
This commandment correlates directly to the redemption secured by the blood of the lamb in Egypt, and the first Pesach, (or Passover) this then led directly to the revelation of the laws of the altar. Almost 50% of the Book of Exodus is focused on the Mishkan, and the Book concludes with the Shekhinah Glory of God, being revealed at Sinai and filling the Holy of Holies. (Exodus 40:34,35.)
The Book of Leviticus then links the previous paragraph of the Book of Exodus, with the religious practices that were to be conducted within the Mishkan itself, and therefore, it focuses upon the various forms of offerings and sacrifices, (ie; zevzchim) that were integral to being able to worship God. As this was the climax of God’s revelation at Sinai, the Mishkan became the place of revelation, and focal point of corporate worship. (Exodus 25:22.-30:36.)
Prophetically speaking, the Mishkan was a foreshadowing, and represented the redemptive plan of God, that culminated in the revelation of Yeshua Ha-Mashiach as being appointed as the Lamb of God.(ie; seh ha-Elohim). Therefore, the Book of Leviticus is central to the Torah, and provides the basis from which we can understand the multifaceted meaning in respects to the sacrifice of Yeshua for our reconciliation with God.
“All of the great doctrines of the New Testament, regarding Atonement, propitiation of sin, and the meaning of the cross of the Messiah, are all grounded in the sacrificial system that is revealed in the Mishkan.”
The word or act of “sacrifice” in English, is more closely associated with an act of “self deprivation”, or to give up something of value, for something of an actual, (or perceived) greater value.
However in the Torah, the concept of sacrifice has more to do with making an offering to God, as a means to be able to draw closer to Him. These sacrifices were intended to express gratitude and joy, while at the same time, temporarily removing the obstacles that were caused by mans defilement and sin.
In actuality, the most common Hebrew word that is utilized to describe sacrifice within the Torah, is the word “korban”, which comes from the root “karov”, meaning to “come close”, or to “draw near”. In the Mishkan, “korbanot” consisted of the various ritualized acts that were used for the worshipper to draw near to God.
Nevertheless, my position is that the whole point of the Torah was, “that to obey, is better than having to sacrifice.”
“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.” (1 Samuel 15:22.)
And therefore, since the Laws were impossible for man to execute with perfection, it was then necessary for God to provide that perfection in our stead in the form of the Messiah. The Torah and the commandments is simply a foreshadowing of the better New Covenant that Yeshua in His grace performed on our behalf. To continue to follow the Torah, (or the letter of the Law) is in essence to deny Yeshua’s sacrifice. He by the shedding of His blood, is the only way to “draw near” to God.
The sacrifice of Yeshua as the “Kohen Gadol”, (High Priest) of the “new and better” Covenant, was a gift to us from God for those that place their trust in His Son. The cross itself, literally represents the “kapporet” (mercy seat) of the New Covenant, for it was on that cross that He shed His blood for our everlasting reconciliation to God. It is only because of the korban of Yeshua, that we can all draw near to God. He is the way, the truth and the life.
When His sacrifice was complete and Yeshua did die, the veil of the Temple, the “parochet” that separated the Holy of Holies from the Holy place, was rent asunder, thereby now granting access to the “Throne of Grace”. It is only because of the High Priestly work of Yeshua that this is now possible. Neither the Levitical, or any other mediators for that matter are necessary, and all that now trust fully in Yeshua as their Lord and Savior are called “spiritual kohanim”.
When Yeshua spoke the words, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) there were far reaching implications to that statement that many haven’t taken fully into consideration. Followers of Yeshua have an altar of grace in which to kneel before, where those who attempt to follow that of the older system, are unable to partake in.
Be Blessed
Continued from above……
Paul said in Hebrews 8:12,13.;
“For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
In that he saith , A new covenant, he hath made the first old . Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.”
What do you think that Yeshua Himself was referring to when He said;
”No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.” Matthew 9:16,17.
The “new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17) requires a “New Covenant”. God works in a “blood economy” and Yeshua was and is the perfect atonement. “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” Matthew 26:28.
The Mosaic Covenant and Law, was for a specific time and pointed to Yeshua as being seh ha-Elohim (Lamb of God) and is no longer applicable for Messianic, (or Christian) believers.
To fulfill prophesy, Yeshua was a Jew that was born during, and lived under the Law.
“But when the fulness of the time was come , God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.” Galatians 4:4,5.
While He was here on the Earth, He responded to a question that was asked of Him by one of the Pharisees, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” Matthew 22:37.
Yeshua then followed up that statement by expressing the following, “This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it , Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” Matthew 22:38,39,40. (Mark 12:30,31.)
What Yeshua is basically saying within those above statements, is that all of the law, and writing of the Prophets, (Nevi’im) that are in the Tanakh can be summed up within these two (2) precepts. That in actuality, if one would love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and love thy neighbour as thyself, they in essence would fulfill the commandments in their entirety.
(There is an interesting thing to note here before I continue. The word that was translated into English as “hang” above, is derived from the Greek “κρεμάννυμι” transliterated, “kremannymi” , (Strong’s 2110). The word is utilized a total of seven (7) times within the New Testament and within its definitions, and its use, it refers to one that is crucified on a Cross. These can be found in Luke 23:39., Acts 5:30., 10:39., and Galatians 3:13.)
In John 13:34., Yeshua declares a “new” commandment, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” and in 15:12., He repeats it, “This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.”
Earlier in His ministry Yeshua stated, “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Matthew 5:17. This He did when He gave freely of Himself and died on the Cross for those that would believe in Him. And it was only at the time of His death, that the New and Better Covenant actually took effect.
This is confirmed in Hebrews 9:16-22.,
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator .
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth .
18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book , and all the people,
20 Saying , This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.
21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
We are now in an age of Grace and have been redeemed from the law.
The single most important Mitzvah, (Divine Commandment) in all of scripture, is to trust in Yeshua as our LORD and Savior.
Everything else is centered and revolves around this.
As stated above, the two “great commandments” are the Ve’ahavta (“Love the LORD with all your heart”) and the obligation to love others as you love yourself, (Matt. 22:36-40.) and as, Yeshua Himself loved us, (John 13:34.).
These two commandments presuppose however, that first, “that you believe that the LORD is real, personal, loving and accessible, and secondly, that you are in fact able to love the LORD and others in the sincerity of truth.”
It is however, literally impossible to fulfill these commandments, apart from the genuine spiritual rebirth and the new life imparted to us through Yeshua, (ie. chayim chadashim).
This is confirmed in Romans 8:8., “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.”
Therefore to please God, we must be in the Spirit.
Consequently then, the principle called the “law of sin and death” is invoked whenever someone attempts to draw close to the LORD apart from faith in His appointed Sacrifice and Mediator of sin. The idea that somehow your “good deeds” can merit access to the LORD’s presence and favor, is ultimately a denial of Yeshua’s sacrifice for you on the cross!
The Apostle Paul warned those that perverted the message of the Gospel by adding any form of “works of law”, that they would be under a divine curse. This is confirmed in Galatians 1:6,9.;
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before , so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received , let him be accursed.”
The B’rit Chadashah, (New Testament) clearly states that those that are believers in Yeshua are “declared righteous” apart from the works of the law, (Romans 3:8., Galatians 3:16.). The “declared righteous one” shall live by “faith”, (Romans 1:17., Galatians 3:11., Hebrews 10:38.)
The Hebrew word for “faith” (emunah) appears in the Tanakh for the first time, (in the Torah, Genesis 15:6) and is connected with Abraham. But what was the nature of Abrahams faith that God would declare him righteous for? Was he declared righteous because of works of the law? Abraham did indeed understand the commandments, statutes, and laws of God, (Genesis 26:5). But where in those laws did it call for, or condone human sacrifice? Nowhere!
Abraham was declared righteous for being faithful to the voice of the LORD and that faithfulness had no relevance to the law whatsoever. So what is this “faith” that nothing but it alone is necessary, or even required?
As Kierkegaard expressed, “faith” is its own category or mode of existing; “Faith is the contradiction between the infinite passion of inwardness and objective uncertainty.”
When Abraham was tested with the Akedah, (“binding” The story of Abraham being tested by God in binding his only begotten son (Isaac) for sacrifice, on Mount Moriah.) he was willing to put aside his rational understanding of the moral law, and instead be obedient to God. He believed that God could perform the impossible, (Matthew 17:20., Luke 1:37.). Abraham was declared righteous (tzaddik) because he trusted that God would fulfill His promise that He had made to him, even if he slew his promised heir upon the altar, (Hebrews 11:17-19.)
Through his faith Abraham foresaw the redemption of the world, (the Messiah) and believed in God’s promise of salvation, (John 8:56.) This is confirmed in Romans 4:13, 14. where Paul states;
13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect :
The works of the law, and the righteousness of faith, are therefore “antithetical and contrary” concepts.
This is expressed quite clearly by Paul in Romans 9:30-33.
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
Those that accept this truth are called “the children of Abraham” and are therefore, “partakers of his blessings”.
Paul expressed this in a more forcible sense by stressing this importance by saying in Galatians 3:1-14.;
1 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth , crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4 Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if it be yet in vain.
5 He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
8 Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed .
9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written , Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
It is solely through the righteousness of Yeshua as Adonai Tzidkenu that we are saved from the curse of the law.
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written , Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Therefore, adherence to any portion of the law accomplishes nothing. Having faith in Yeshua accomplishes everything.
Be Blessed
alienated, thanks for the 2 page ‘sermon’ but what is the reason for this?
((#1:)) (“You say: To continue to follow the Torah, (or the letter of the Law) is in essence to deny Yeshua’s sacrifice…” ) and again at the very end…
((#2:)) (Therefore, adherence to any portion of the law accomplishes nothing. Having faith in Yeshua accomplishes everything.)
Are you telling me that we shouldn’t be reading the ‘Shema’ and teaching those important things to our children and others who are unaware of it? Shouldn’t we follow the ‘Shabbat’ and the other Mo’ed (Feasts of YHWH) that He Himself commanded? Should we make the ‘Old Covenant (Tanakh)’ obsolete then? Perhaps you did not understand that I was emphasizing on the word ‘OBEDIENCE’ to YHWH (Who Himself is the TORAH) and which says it all about His Mark. Was I saying that we have to do blood sacrifices or put blood on the doorposts at every Passover? I merely mentioned the ‘Mark’ on the doorposts at the Exodus from Egypt because the article on this blog is about the Mark of YHWH.
((#3:)) When you say: “Nevertheless, my position is that the whole point of the Torah was, “that to obey, is better than having to sacrifice”.
Well, doesn’t this your #3 quote conflict with that of #1 & #2? This is what I call CON-fusion.
So again please tell me who is sacrificing anything here such as lambs goats and chickens for blood sacrifice as some do so even today? You can figure that out as I don’t want to go out of context with this article.
Other than blood sacrifices, I believe that a person who truly wants to follow Yeshuah in order for a change of life would really be making a ‘sacrifice’ by denying himself/herself of all the worldliness to follow Him – ” Then Yeshua said to His disciples, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and let him come after me Matthew 16:24” – Therefore, in response to your quote #2, I say that ONLY on following and doing exactly what Yeshuah Messiah did and asked us to do, we can build our faith and accomplish anything and everything we need according to His will. MOST people, ie. of all Christian denominations as well as Messianics don’t even know what that Scripture really means.
I’m not going to say much here but just this:
((#4:)) You mentioned in your continuation comment: Yeshua was a Jew.
Well though this bit may seem out of context here, nevertheless, I say Yeshuah Messiah is NOT a Jew, rather HE is a Yehudi from the line of Yehuda. He observed the TORAH and not the Talmud. It is an incontestable fact that the word Jew did not come into existence until the year 1775. Is it any wonder that there is so much confusion among Catholics and Christians and as if that is not enough, there is a lot more confusion among the Children of Jacob as well in Israel and around the world…It’s very sad indeed!!.
Lastly, I’d like to say that I do not follow Paul but I follow Yeshuah Messiah.
Also It doesn’t matter to me what you say or think or write but I strongly observe, believe, and stand firm on the TORAH-who is Yeshuah Messiah Himself and NOT Judaism and the Talmud. No one can ever make me change my mind on that with their contrary beliefs and teachings. Anyone can jump ahead of me if they want to, that they know better than me as that’s what I have observed on blogs, and everywhere else – that’s absolutely fine with me for I will remain firmly planted where I am and grow from there with Yeshuah’s grace and love, that’s the way I’ll give back to Him for His Great Blood Sacrifice with Death & Resurrection to save a wretch like me.
Be blessed and Have a nice day.
Hi Jes,
I am truly sorry if I misunderstood the intentions of your post, (and the length of my response).
In the past there have been many that have come here that express the necessity to still practice the law, which in doing so, suggests that Yeshua’s sacrifice was insufficient and not enough.
This belief simply frustrates me to no end, and I initially believed that this was the position that you held, so I responded to it, (though obviously prematurely).
If I offend you at all, I would hope that you would accept my apologizes.
Be Blessed
(1) Thanks Jes for the 1775 clarification, for I have wondered when and where the word ‘Jew’ came from.
(2) I personally do not understand what is wrong with Paul.
(3) To butte in you two’s conversation concerning the finer defining what constitutes ‘obedience’, I kind of like to hang out with two of the other Apostles: John and Peter – – 1Pet 4:8 above all things being fervent in your love among yourselves; for love covereth a multitude of sins:
shalom 45squared,
1) I do have a lot of info with regard to your item #1 but it’s a totally different issue to the article on this blog. I don’t wish to cause a stir among others.
2) Re. your item #2 – It’s my opinion of Paul, I wish I could answer that for you but prefer not to get into that area. Pray and ask YHWH for discernment as I did to confirm my thoughts. You see, when it comes to the Word of YHWH I’m a skeptic like Thomas, I want facts, so I pray and start digging till I get my answer, and amazingly I find it.
3) Re. John and Peter … Right, I love them too and all the apostles and I can never get Mattityahu(Matthias) out of my mind though I did a lot of research, couldn’t find a thing about him. But Abba is good He gave me a clue.
Re.1Pet 4.8- You are right, I agree to what you say.
Blessings in Yeshua Messiah
Hi Jes,
Perhaps I wasn’t premature then, (earlier within my above response), and an apology on my part wasn’t necessarily required?
You say above that you love Peter, which would indicate to me that you would believe what he had to say as being factual, and true.
Didn’t Peter say regarding Paul’s authority……….
“15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.” 2 Peter 3:15,16. KJV.
Just Saying
Shalom alienated,
**** First of all don’t worry about the apology in your above comment re. the Mark of YHWH, I never asked for it and also I wasn’t offended but instead I was defending my belief in the Holy Scriptures.
**** Secondly, I don’t mean to be rude here but frankly, what I see in your comments to me is that you like being the dominant one and that I have to agree to all you say because you presume you are right. No, that does not work with me for I do not easily accept the beliefs and opinions of others and I’m pretty headstrong about that. I also do not write anything that is of my own understanding. What I know and learned that I like to share and I am not here to debate, argue or cause confliction. Therefore, people can take it or leave it.
**** Thirdly, You do realize that the main article is on YHWH’s Mark but you have left that topic and jumped over to another by picking my words on Paul. What I think of Paul is my perception and does not involve you nor can you convert me to Paul’s teachings. If I don’t follow Paul’s teaching(the Talmud), I will NOT go to hell BUT if I DON’T follow Yeshuah’s teaching(TORAH) then I WILL go to hell. I mentioned before that I will not get into that area of discussing Paul and I’m going to stick with that not because I’m afraid of debating or arguing but because it has NO BASIS whatsoever to the subject article here “GOD’s MARK”.
Lastly Shalom Alechem (Peace of YAH unto you) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjT7bvIbqZE&feature=related
Jes
Your opinion is just as valid as alienated. Sometimes long debates become wearisome, and points get lost in the details. be of good cheer. Jesus loves us all.
You are right Marianne, that’s why I don’t want to get into another subject but better to stick to the one we are on.
Don’t worry I’m fine and have no bitter feelings against alienated or anyone. This is a blog after all and it’s meant for discussions.
Be blessed.
Hi Jes,
Well, I am sorry that you feel that way. (So much so, that you felt it somehow necessary to voice what was meant to be an unflattering comment, (of a personal nature), simply guised as an observation.) Nevertheless you have the right to form your own opinions.
I believe that it is safe to say, that many that happen to post here are assertive and passionate regarding the Word of God, which is decidedly different than being opinionated.
You do not have to agree with me at all regarding anything that I may post.
I attempt to the best of my ability, to express what I believe is biblical. I merely quoted scripture from one Apostle whom you admire, which within what he had said, validated another. Whether you wish to disregard it or not is certainly your prerogative.
Though your comment above stung a bit, I choose to not retaliate whatsoever, and instead propose a truce.
I wish you Shalom as well.
O, alienated, now it’s my turn to say sorry and I am sorry that I was like the Ooops! ‘prickly pear’ (that’s prickly on the outside but sweet on the inside) Lol! I didn’t realize it but now that you pointed out I guess I’m become defensive towards YHWH’s Word because of the teaching on Yeshuah by certain people like rabbis and others (Not you). A few of which I will quote:
1. Denying the Virgin Birth of Yeshuah.
2. Denying that Yeshuah is G-d
3. That allah is the G-d of Israel…and so on
Well I cannot stand this at all and being a little like Moses (hothead) but I don’t beat up the rocks. 🙂 A little like Peter(Impulsive) but I don’t cut off ears 🙂 A skeptic like Thomas, I want real facts and comments/feedback that is Scripture based. There’s also so much confusion in this world right now that instead of listening there’s debating, it’s hard to get thru to certain people (again not you), it’s a waste of time, so I guess I’m getting a bit blunt like Yeshuah… Forgive me, He can be that way for He is G-d, I shouldn’t.
So truce it is my friend, in the first place I never had anything against you so let your heart be at rest. This from me to you – musical notes hidden in HIS Name…. HIS Mark is not just an ordinary mark but one with sweet music in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfP-MxEjK_Q
May Yeshuah Bless you.

shalom. 🙂
1) Marianne might let you start a thread or do a study page on יהוּדי if you ask her (if there is such a motivation in you.) – just a thought.
2) Part of being ‘wise as serpents’ is being a full fledged skeptic, leaving the folly of gullibility behind. Even after all the facts come in, there still remains room enough for faith. Thomas was just a good Berean (Act17:10,11), who with noble-mindedness wanted to lay hold a visual testimony to support his flawless integrity of heart. Yeshua LOVED Thomas enough to answer his deepest heart’s desire, wherefore Thomas said; “My Lord, and My God.”
3) Though I have no knowledge of Mattityahu’s background outside of scripture, am very glad there are now free Peshitta into English versions of his book.
שלום to you as well my friend.
you are reading my mind.
I just did a post on this….more to come

Shalom 45squared,
Thank you for the info on the free Peshitta into English versions of Mattityahu.
If you know of a good English translation of a Tanakh please let me know, would appreciate it. It’s hard to figure out on the web which one is good and not. I have the AENT(Aramaic English New Testament which is quite good.
Be Blessed.
http://www.scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/Hebrew_Index.htm
has an interlinear pdf for every chapter of the Tanakh. I’ve downloaded all of them and compliled them into one large pdf, but it is too big to fit in my outgoing email box. I have found this interlinear to be more useful (when needed to dig deeper than Strongs) than the eSword software which I use mostly.
That’s great and so kind of you. Thank you so much. I’m going to download it right away.
Blessings.
Hi ya’s Jes and 45,
Both of you may find this “Hebraic Roots Bible” interesting as well?
It can also be downloaded for free in PDF format, at the bottom of the page.
http://www.coyhwh.com/en/scriptures.php
Be Blessed
Thanks for that.
I just downloaded it.
🙂
Thank you soooo much alienated,
I too just downloaded it this morning. I so appreciate your kind thought.
With Luv in Yeshua & Blessings 🙂
No problem gang.
I was apprehensive at first to post the link. The reason for that was because of the feedback that I received from a Jewish Messianic friend of mine. He has his own website, (Hebrew4Christians), and I really respect his opinion.
When I first sent him the link to get his feedback, his response was based upon the first sentence on the page which reads, “Here for the very first time is a literal translation of the scriptures with the sacred name of Yahweh and Yahshua, restored and preserved.” John responded to that with, “The very first sentence sent up red flags for me: there is absolutely no real Hebrew name of “Yahshua,” so I believe that they are in error at the outset…There is however, the real Hebrew name “Yeshua,” but *not* YAHshua – which is simply a fabricated name…. I don’t need to read the introduction because they have the very first fact of the Name of Jesus incorrect, which to me, reveals poor scholarship, as well, they endorse the idea of Aramaic priority, forgetting that Jesus was a Jew and therefore spoke Hebrew.”
In taking this into consideration, I decided to post the link anyways.
Unfortunately it is impossible to perfectly translate anything from one language into another. The sentiment can be conveyed, but not necessarily the subtleties. However, I enjoyed reading it, and believe that within its content, there may still be something for others to glean as well.
With that said, please read it carefully, and with the understanding that it is simply another translation, which may or may not be more accurate, and therefore should not supersede any other translation.
Be Blessed
Hi alienated,
I agree with what you say and yes, it would also be very difficult to get an accurate Hebrew translation of the Torah in English or any other language because most often there are no words to decipher from Hebrew. That’s the reason I’ve been hesitant to buy a Tanakh wondering what if it doesn’t the right translation and so on. But I did find a Free Download of The Orthodox Jewish Bible (Believers in Yeshua), a free download which has a lot of Hebrew transliteration… and this makes it a bit difficult for me as I have to check out the meanings each time. Anyways try this and see if it helps .. there are some videos in it as well that you can watch… Let me know what you think. http://www.afii.org/
45squared, you too can check it out and download if you like.
Shalom
Thanks Jes,
I’ll check it out and get back to ya’s.
Shalom
Wow Jes, this is so way cool! I have not had a semi-transliterated Tanakh, just the Brit Chadasha only. Such books like these make a perfect bridge into full Hebrew.
I like very much, verily like I . . . !
: ) Thank you.
Good post
I think both of you are trying to say the same thing
Also, brevity is a virtue.
If comments are shorter, they are easier to digest.
Does the sacrifice of the blood of chickens put the Mark of YHWH on us?
The Ram/Lamb has been the sacrifice of G-d’s people since the time of the sin of Adam & Eve until the death of Yeshuah symbolic of the Lamb of G-d.
Just some info. Take a look at this: http://ivarfjeld.wordpress.com/2010/09/20/ultra-orthodox-jews-slaughter-chickens-in-bid-to-get-rid-of-sins/#comment-39414
no. This ritual is only symbolic of the atonement the jews receive on Yom Kippur. It does not take the place of personal atonement.
You are Right. My error, I should have been more specific that it’s the blood of Yeshuah Messiah that was the “final atonement” for our sins, that saves those who accept His death and resurrection – and not the blood of chickens. Besides, there’s no temple now.
Some exerpts:.
On Yom Kippur (according to Lev. 16) the High Priest entered the Holy of Holies in the Tabernacle of Moses and offered the blood of a young bull for his own sins and for the sins of his family.
The blood that Yeshua (Jesus) shed on the “tree of sacrifice” made the final “atonement” for our sins, putting an end to the Mosaic sacrificial system. He also entered the Holy of holies in the Heavenly Sanctuary, and as our great High Priest presented His own blood to His Father signifying that it was finished, having obtained once and for all, eternal redemption for our sins (Heb. 9:11,12). http://www.thetabernacleinbranson.com/teachings_text_yom_kippur.htm
God’s Mark is most likely the TAW which icon of Hebrew Alphabet happens to appear as the sign of the Cross. Ezekiel 9:4 ” Go throughout the city of Jerusalem and put a mark on the forehead of those who grieve and lament over all the detestable things that are done n it.” Ezekiel 9:6 “Slaughter old men, young men, women, and children, but do not touch anyone who has the mark. Begin at my sanctuary” So they began with the elders who were in front of the temple” The Hebrew interpretations of this is the last letter of the Hebrew Alphabet, X mark, which resembles the cross, called a TAW, is the Mark of God given to those God spared with His Salvation. In my interpretation, in the last days, the Christians will be spared a holocaust, when the Muslims riot in Jerusalem killing wholesale the Jews, over the issue of the dedication of their rebuilt temple, to a prince of Persia, dividing in wrath and fury, the Sunni Muslims to move to war against the Persian messiah prince courted by the Jews in Jerusalem. This is why in Revelation the Christians are told to get out of Mystery Babylon, for a great slaughter over religion will occur, when the Jews court the Prince of Persia, for his favor, irking the King of Arabia and his Islamic Banner of the Sunni Islam.
Hi Carmine,
~~~ In a way you are right about the Tav or Taw being the MARK. Last Shabbat I became so engrossed in the study of the MARK of YAHWEH, the MARK of the Beast, & the MARK of Cain. However I’ll just stick with the MARK of YAHWEH and share what I learned as this might be interesting to some.
~~ Simply explained the SIGN or MARK is in the Word Torah (תא) written in Hebrew from right to the left, and if read from the left it reads Owth (תא) meaning a SIGN, MARK, Wonder, an Omen, a Warning, or a Remembrance and more. The beauty of the Word TORAH is that, either way we read the letters, we find two great meanings in it. However, the Hebrew word for “letter” is owth (אוֹת). Today’s Hebrew Script is the Babylonian script. The Paleo Hebrew letters were far differently written. The Aleph was an Ox head and the Tav was a straight stick with another stick above across it. The X cross is the Babylonian cross. The two letters of Torah are the Aleph & Tav without the vowels. The Aleph Tav, = Torah is the MARK of YAHWEH which is a combination of all His commandments that we MUST keep. There are 613 Commandments but are divided accordingly. This is another topic I’ll stay out of it.
~~~ The Term “Torah : The Hebrew word, torah (תורה), is derived from a root that was used in the realm of archery, yareh (ירה). Yareh means to shoot an arrow in order to hit a MARK. The MARK or target, of course, was the object at which the archer was aiming. Consequently, torah, one of the nouns derived from this root, is, therefore, the arrow aimed at the MARK. The target is the truth about God and how one relates to Him. The torah is, therefore, in the strict sense instruction designed to teach us the truth about YAHWEH. Torah means direction,teaching, instruction,or doctrine.

~~~ Ex.12-13-the Blood will be for a SIGN (written with a small Vav and a dot) = אוֹת (Owth), it’s the ALEPH, the VAV and the TAV, you see it in Gen. 1:14 every time you look up that SIGN, you will see that is how it is spelled. It means = This Blood is to be for you a SIGN. Actually the word for SIGN is written את (Aleph, Tav) So it tells us that it’s Aleph’s Tav’s blood (Yeshua’s Blood) that is being shed for you. In fact Aleph Tav(Yeshua) is saying, “that is my blood being shed for you”. This SIGN will not be found throughout the whole Bible as there are defective spellings only in significant places. So here the very word SIGN the Aleph is the Leader, the Vav is the Nail, the Tav is the Cross = “The Leader nailed to the cross”. There would be no doubt that in this spelling of the word SIGN He does away with the Vav (the Nail to the Cross) and want you to know that it is the Aleph Tav. In Revelation 12.11 it says, they overcame him by the blood of the lamb, then in Ex.12:14 this day shall be unto you a memorial … forever … OLAM, to the vanishing time, generally time out of mind, practically eternity and the word memorial is the “Crown”, a memento, to MARK it, recognizable. (This Hebrew explanation was given by Hebrew Teacher/Pastor MARK Biltz of El Shaddai Ministry.)
~~~ BTW Re. your quote:..( the Christians will be spared a holocaust, when the Muslims riot in Jerusalem killing wholesale the Jews,… ) You should look into it more deeply…because it’s always the Israelites first, then the gentiles.
mark of beast or mark of YHVH?

Ezechiel 9:4 The mark of G-d, I have learned is the “tav”- the last letter in the hebrew alephabet, represented idiographically by 2 cross sticks, or simply a cross representing the covenant. I have also learned the “mark of Cain” was the tav or more simply stated the cross, this implies to me that Cain was forgiven or saved. It is also interesting that Perry Stone on Manna Fest said some skiers in the Swiss alps saw/found a man under the ice that was later found to be 5,300 years old with crosses tattooed on him (could be Cain himself, the wonderer on the earth). Interesting how “ash wednesday” is a tav or cross on the forehead. I would not be suprised to see a literal tav on the foreheads of a literal 144,000 Isrealites
hi Laurence
Interesting thought, that the tav indicated Cain was forgiven.
Hi Laurence,
I would be more interested in hearing as to “where and how” you learned that the mark of Cain was indeed the Tav? Speculations abound regarding this particular mark, which range from the possible to the preposterous. The text regarding this topic within the Tanakh only describes how the mark was to function as a sign or warning, rather than describing as to what “form” this mark actually took.
Could you provide more information regarding this for us?
Shalom & Be Blessed
Just google up “the mark of cain was the tav or taw, I copied and pasted this for you: Jewish and Jerusalem-centric viewpoint that I learned something critical about the Mark of Cain. Rabbinical literature teaches that it was the Hebrew letter ‘Tav’.
Yashua (jesus) is the Aleph and the Tav; the beginning and the end, and also the beginning and ending of the Hebrew alphabet. The “Old Testament” was written in Hebrew, so the original scripture would have stated that Yahweh put a “Tav” (mark) on Cain! We can learn soooooo much by researching our translated version of the Bible back to the original Hebrew language! It really helps to have a “Strong’s Concordance” when you study the Bible. For example, the word “Hell” is translated from the original Hebrew word “Sheol” which means the GRAVE, not a place of eternal, firey torture! The idea of a place of eternal torment comes from Greek mythology which was intermixed with the truth, and most churches today have been handed down lies!! As the Bible says, “Come out of her my people, so that you share not in her sins” (The her is this verse refers to the “Woman” or false church!
Hell in old “1611” english meant to dig a hole put some hay in it put some potatoes on the hay then cover the potatoes with hay (I think it was Michael Rood who explained it like that).
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God Aleph/Tav created the heavens Vav/Aleph/Tav (translated “and”) the earth. Yeshua said in Greek “I am the Alpha and Omega which is in Hebrew the Aleph and Tav, as we can see in Gen 1:1 Jesus the Aleph /Tav God created the heavens and the earth, we can also see the Aleph/Tav between the 2 words heaven and earth with the Vav representing the “nail” or “hook” with the Aleph/Tav God/Man Yeshua being that nail or hook joining the circle of the heavens to the square of the earth (the perfect circle squared- the impossible acheavment of Yeshua).
Zech 12:10 … and they shall look upon me Aleph/Tav (Yeshua)whom they have pierced,…
The blood on the door post and lintel in Exodus 12 was Aleph/Tav blood.
Tell your orthodox Jewish friends these couple of Hebrew idiographic meanings: Covenant- the 1st 2 letters Kaf and resh are the Hebrew word “son” then you have a Yod meaning “my” and then a Tav meaning “cross”, so “Covenant” means son of my cross. Now adding an Ayin (meaning reveal) to the beginning of the word covenant gives us the Hebrew word “Hebrew” this gives us the purpose of the Hebrew language: to reveal the covenant, the cross of my son.
Oops! it’s not Kaf Resh for son it is Bet Resh, Bet is house and resh is man meaning “the man of the house” (implying of course Yeshua the man of Yehovah’s house)
This page starts with the teragramatron, the yod, hey, vav, hey the idiographic meaning for that is “behold the hand behold the nail”.
While I’m at it my fovorite idiographic meaning is “shalom (peace): “destroy the authority attached to chaos”.
hi Lawrence
I love that translation of the yod, hey, vav, hey.
Shalom,
In Exodus 31, 16-17 it says “So the sons of Israel shall observe the Sabbath, to celebrate the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant. It is a sign between Me and the sons of Israel forever; for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased from labor, and was refreshed.”
I agree that mourning for Yeshua and the condition of the world is important but not sure that it is the sign written of for believers. Still, in Matthew 5 verse 4 “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. ” Yeshua is specifically saying that those that mourn for the pain that God feels are blessed.
There is a lot of good guidance for believers in Matthew 5. I especially like “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” So when we share the gospel we help our neighbor to be at peace with Yah and replace enmity with reconciliation if they choose our Lord.

I agree that there are many indications of a true believer. This was just my look at one indication. 🙂
The following two scriptures have been overlooked / ignored by Christians (though not all).
Exodus 12: 37 – And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand men on foot, beside children.
Exodus 12:38 – And a MIXED MULTITUDE went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle.
We have to understand that Egypt was a Mega Empire and like the USA there were people of all nations that worked there. When we look at those scriptures deeply, we see that YHWH does not make a difference between Israelites and Gentiles … All HUMANS have always been ONE in the mind of YHWH. (Yahweh is just, meaning He is no respecter of persons in the sense of showing favoritism (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 18:30). In fact out of all those multitudes that had left Egypt with Moses, we read that only two survived and were able to go into the promised land … They were Joshua and Caleb – This is very interesting – for Joshua was an Israelite and Caleb was a Kennite (Cananite). It is said that the Kenites were closely related to the Israelites … that should make us think that we all are after all somehow inter-related minus the seed of “satan” that YHWH ordered the Israelites to destroy upon entering into the “promised lands”.
So my point is; shouldn’t we ALL keep the Shabbat(Sabbath) every week, the first one of the Seven feasts(appointments of YHWH)?
Have a wonderful and Blessed Shabbat!!
you too!
Hey Jes,
I agree with you 100%!! I pray that Ruach HaKodesh will open the eyes and ears of both ethnic Israel and the gentile church, that are blind to these things, that they might see and hear the truth and become one as Yah has planned from the very beginning.
Shabbat Shalom my sister!!!
Hi Al,
Yes, and I too agree with you. It would be so wonderful to see all the nations of the world following the WORD and bowing down in reverence to the King of kings and the Supreme above all gods.
I forgot to mention in my ‘point’ above that the “Shabbat” is also a major part of the ‘Mark of YHWH’ .
Shabbat Shalom to you too &
Shalom Aleichem – enjoy HIS Blessed Rest!!

Found the following about God’s mark:
under http://bible.cc/revelation/13-16.htm
Gill’s Exposition of the Entire Bible
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor,
free and bond,…. Men of all ranks and degrees, states and conditions, within his
jurisdiction; this refers to the beast, and not to the image:
to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads; or “that they might give
themselves marks”, as the Complutensian edition reads; which is an allusion either to
the custom among the Romans of imprinting marks upon their servants and soldiers, by
which they might be known to whom they belonged; servants had them in their foreheads
(i), and soldiers in their hands (k); or to the usages of the Jews in binding their
phylacteries upon their arms and foreheads, to put them in mind of the law of God, and
their obedience to it; or to the practices of the Heathens, in putting the mark of the
god they worshipped upon their bodies; Maimonides (l) says, it was a custom with the
Gentiles to mark themselves with their idols, showing that they were their bought
servants, and were marked for their service: the sense is, that some received the mark
in one place, and some in another: those who were obliged to receive the mark in the
right hand seem to be the clergy, such who entered into holy orders; who lifted up
their right hand, and swore and vowed allegiance to the pope, and testified they were
ready to defend and support his religion and interest; and who in their ordination are
said to have an indelible character impressed on them: and those who received the mark
in their foreheads are the common people in general, who one and all have the same
impress upon them; which may intend either the sign of the cross in baptism, or rather
their open confession of the Popish religion, which they as publicly avow and declare
as if it had been written on their foreheads.

The same website says
People’s New Testament
13:16 He causeth all… to receive a mark. The mark of the beast is some stamp or sign, by which all its worshipers should be known. In ancient days slaves were sometimes branded, as cattle are in our own age. The brand or mark of the beast would be some indelible sign which would designate with certainty those who were subject to his authority. To receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads. A mark in the hand is supposed by some to represent the practice, while a mark in the forehead indicates the profession of life. It is remarkable, however, that a mark on the forehead, the sign of the cross made with water, converts a person into a Roman Catholic, and without this mark none are regarded as heirs of salvation.
The anti-crist is a religion but it is NOT roman Catholic church, it is spiritism, reiki, spiritual healing, wichcraft, with Harry potter and the Lord of the rings movies, like Charmed. Every body loves them and thinks they are the way… Healing can only came in name of Jesus Christ. The Mark of God is the cross, and Catholics mark in their forehead when they say their prayer. The church of Christ is the people of many religions that only adore God and his son Jesus Christ, also God. Roman Catholic people cannot be condemn because they pray to Mary and Jesus and not just to Mary. Their prayers are to both God, Jesus and Mary. Catholics don’t adore the pope, they adore jesus and God, but in all times there been priests of other religions, RCC is not different.
Grand Scale.. We all are! What we all are not. 1 or 0. As forever has been. To build a mountain, you must dig a hole. To dig a hole you must??? To create life! I life must be given. For every positive there must be a ??? 1 or 0. the beginning is only the end. The end is just the? Where time is just a illusion. The illusion is?
A friend,
I am one (1) with Christ. Forget the zero thing – its empty. Here is the definition of both, which is Truth.
The word zero came via French zéro from Venetian zero, which (together with cypher) came via Italian zefiro from Arabic صفر, ṣafira = “it was empty”, ṣifr = “zero”, “nothing”. This was a translation of the Sanskrit word shoonya (śūnya), meaning “empty”. The first known English use was in 1598.
In 976 AD the Persian encyclopedist Muhammad ibn Ahmad al-Khwarizmi, in his “Keys of the Sciences”, remarked that if, in a calculation, no number appears in the place of tens, then a little circle should be used “to keep the rows”. This circle was called صفر (ṣifr, “empty”) in Arabic language. That was the earliest mention of the name ṣifr that eventually became zero.
I am one with Christ, thank you Lord.
“Now I am coming to you. I will not stay in the world, but these followers of mine are still in the world. Holy Father, keep them safe by the power of your name—the name you gave me. Then they will be one, just as you and I are one. While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power of your name—the name you gave me. I protected them…I pray not only for these followers but also for those who will believe in me because of their teaching.
Father, I pray that all who believe in me can be one.
You are in me and I am in you. I pray that they can also be one in us. Then the world will believe that you sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me.
I gave them this glory so that they can be one, just as you and I are one. I will be in them, and you will be in me. So they will be completely one. Then the world will know that you sent me and that you loved them just as you loved me.
Father, I want these people you have given me to be with me in every place I am. I want them to see my glory—the glory you gave me because you loved me before the world was made. Father, you are the one who always does what is right. The world does not know you, but I know you, and these followers of mine know that you sent me. I showed them what you are like, and I will show them again. Then they will have the same love that you have for me, and I will live in them” (John 17:11-12, 20-26, ERV).
As for the hole, well? See Genesis 37.

Proverbs
Close. But not. The creator, The Father/Mother that is god. As portrayed on earth. IS ALL. Energy without beginning or end. Fully aware within the collective that is. Behold the glory that the purest form of light offers, the ever expanding and contracting energy that is in biblical terms, Heaven
Like this
1=good
0= evil
One cannot exist without the other.
1=Light
0=dark
Without light there can be no darkness
1=something
0 =nothing
Must be something for nothing to exist
there is no darkness in heaven……light gets along fine without darkness around.
The digits 1 and 0, I use as a reference. To be found, one must be lost.
For we are god.
If I were a mortal man? (metaphor) If when happy, Archangel Michael. When sad, I Archangel Lucifer. Am I one? or am I the other? 1 or 0? Or am I both ?
a friend,
This is fun! But, you gave yourself away with the “Father/Mother” reference.
I’ve just complete a study of Light and darkness – such an interesting coincidence (if only that were posted as a page).
You can’t have one (light) without the other (darkness)? Well, it all began a long time ago…in a previous age.
“Father God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness” (Genesis 1:4).
Darkness remains over the world (universe) because of Lucifer. That darkness covers the mind. It’s known as confusion, lies, fear, and chaos that come in the form of demons, vile spirits and the like (Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, and Babylonians called them gods).
Darkness is not so much physical but mental/spiritual, coming from the realm of Lucifer (the great deceiver, tester and destroyer of faith, hope and love).
While light is righteousness that comes for the Father into a mind/soul/spirit from Jesus Christ with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
For Father God who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ'” (2nd Corinthians 4: 6).
“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light” (Ephesians 5).
“Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light” (Romans 13:12, NKJV).
We need both? Not much longer. Then darkness will be gone for eternity and we live in/at the speed of light!
“Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away…
I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life” (Revelation 21, NIV).
Maybe this link will help – I’d be cutting/pasting from Scriptures to respond, so you now have one of my resource guides.

Psalm 18:28
You said it all. You cant have one without the other. So (WE) who collectively are the Father/Mother, witch is all!. To man known as (God). Could somehow eliminate the perils of darkness? The collective would cease to be. God. would cease to be. The Bible is a guide. Not a Map, nor a dictionary. It has been dissected and mutilated by man as seen fit. We shall reclaim the fallen one by one. Thus more will fall. The darkness will remain. For without the darkness. There is no light. For they are as always. One
a friend,
This Zen speak is filled with zeros.
It isn’t true that Zen makes no sense. Rather, “making sense” of zen speak requires understanding language differently. To understand Zen one must enter into a cave (darkness) and face the dragon (serious demonic engagement, opening up the mind to chaos).
“Chaos: When the present determines the future, but the approximate present does not approximately determine the future” (chaos mathematical theory).
The Bible says:
“God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore. Solomon’s wisdom was greater than the wisdom of all the people of the East, and greater than all the wisdom of Egypt” (1 Kings 4:29-31, NIV).
Solomon wrote these words:
“…Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths…Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil…Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways; for the froward is an abomination to the Lord, but His secret is with the righteous…” (Proverbs 3).
Here is a very good presentation of the Word, written by John.
“We want to tell you about the Word that gives life—the one who existed before the world began. This is the one we have heard and have seen with our own eyes. We saw what he did, and our hands touched him. Yes, the one who is life was shown to us. We saw him, and so we can tell others about him. We now tell you about him.
He is the eternal life that was with God the Father and was shown to us. We are telling you about what we have seen and heard because we want you to have fellowship with us. The fellowship we share together is with God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ. We write these things to you so that you can be full of joy with us.
We heard the true teaching from God. Now we tell it to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness. So if we say that we share in life with God, but we continue living in darkness, we are liars, who don’t follow the truth. We should live in the light, where God is. If we live in the light, we have fellowship with each other, and the blood sacrifice of Jesus, God’s Son, washes away every sin and makes us clean” (1st John 1:1-7, ERV).
Blessings to you as you read the Word of God.
Classic New Age babel. It makes me want to puke. What was Old Knob’s lie to Eve? Oh yea, “You will not surely die. You will be as G-d”.
Your Master, the father of lies, hates your guts. It fillls you with falsehoods. You think you can not have light without darkness? Should G-d the Father, maker of Heaven, and earth who died so you can live, wishes to not have any light shine on earth, then that is how it will be. Should G-d decide to send the word made flesh into this time, and space today, then that is how it will be.
G-d’s laws are just. The New Age god of this world system has been shown to be false. How? Because, G-d’s laws requires a price, and G-d paid that price in a perfect sacrifice so individuals like you can choose to be weighed by the law, or be seen through Christ at judgement day.
Choose wisely.
I noticed you didn’t really define what a mark is. Why is that?
My opinion is that a mark, sign and seal can all mean the same thing. So what is a seal? A seal is something that makes a document official. In medieval days a king would have a special ring that he would dip into a hot wax and seal a document with it. A seal always has or had three parts to it. For a modern example, the president of the US: his seal is name, Barack Obama, title, President, terrority, The United States of America. God too has a seal, Lord God(his name), Creator(his title), Heaven and Earth(his terrority). Where do we find God’s seal? Right in the middle of His law.
For in six days the LORD MADE HEAVEN and EARTH, THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IN THEM IS, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Exo 20:11
Also in around about way in:
Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. Revelation 14:7.
On the testimony of two or three witnesses a thing is established. Mat 18:16, 20; 1st Cor 14:29; 2nd Cor 13:1; 1st Tim 5:19; Heb 10:28; Deut 17:6; 19:15; 1st Cor 14:27.
Without a seal a law is meaningless just like a law without the president or monarch’s siganature is meaningless.
P.S. I am not the other David in the comments(least I don’t remember making them).
david
I used the scripture here to define the mark, at least in this passage.
the mark was identified by the behavior of the people, which was an outward sign of the heart.
grieving over sin = God’s mark.
But you will concur that it is His people who are judged first, yes? After all in Exodus 8 and 9 it is the leadership that is in apostasy. God says put a mark on those who sigh and cry at all the abominations committed in Israel. The angels with slaughter weapons are told to slay all who don’t have the mark without pity and begin at my Sanctuary, ie the church.
Also passages can have more than one meaning.
yes
with the recent supreme court decision, and the infiltration of g*ys into our schools to teach them their ways, does anyone feel god’s pain yet for our children?
I cannot get it out of my mind tonight.
He is applying that verse wrong though he probably doesn’t know it. That verse of the people sighing and crying is because of the abominations committed within the church and that mark in Ezekiel is placed on the saved not the lost. There are two marks placed on everyone at the end of time. Everybody is marked, you either got the seal of God or the mark of the beast. Nobody is marked at present.
david
i think god is already marking who belongs to him..my opinion..
the mark of the beast may be future, but the willing candidates are already ready
Maybes. But none of us know who is who yet do we? I mean we all can say I am Christ’s but only God knows the heart.
I could be for all you know a double agent. Pretending to be Godly when in reality I work for the other side. How would you know? I might be his agent unknowingly. It is possible to be self-deceived.
i hope you are not a double agent 🙂
but if you are, I hope you repent soon.
Recently, I came to understand that the sixth seal of Revelation references a polar shift. Right now, we are experiencing a last days outpouring of the Holy Spirit. One of the gifts I have been given is seeing the sign of the cross or “tav” on people’s foreheads. This gift first began in 2011. My observation is that the Seal is given to those who have surrendered their hearts to the Lord and is not dependent on denomination. Surrendering one’s heart to the Lord requires a deep awareness of one’s sin and a need for a Savior. I believe that those who bare this Seal are the remnant who will be protected through the present and coming trials of the Great Tribulation and will be part of establishing the New Kingdom.
veronica
that gift is a blessing. I agree about the 6th seal
