Many are investing in gold and silver for the last days as security.
Will it do them any good?

I personally do not think hoarding and trading in gold and silver will help anyone survive any economic situation.
For one thing, they cannot be used at the store to buy food, or pay bills at the power company.

How does one exchange bars of gold for a coat, or gasoline for ones’ car?
How does one “make change?”
Take a hammer and break the gold into smaller pieces, and give some pieces back?
It just will not happen.
No business is set up to deal that way.

It also is a last resort for those who do not trust in God as their source for provision.

Gold and silver will become idols that will be smashed in the last days.

The best way gold can help now is for people to sell it to those who think it will have value, cash it in, and buy things they really need.

I have learned, over the last 20 years, that without money, I have become closer to God than I ever would have believed possible. For without money, when you “think” that it is the ONLY answer to your problems at the time, and you can’t acquire all that you need…so you “give-up” on acquiring it, and you “say it aloud”…”Dear God! I can’t do this! I give it all up to you!”
What happens???
Why do people do this? Is it not out of fear? I read on on series of posts that in the bible ‘fear not’ actually occurs in various forms, looking up the words in Hebrew and Greek (at times) over 365 times!! More than that,

The bible says our ‘bread and water will be sure’. And that in
those dark days ahead will be a miracle. Bread is usually
food, and water is water. Look what happened to water?
I never would have thought water would become sold in
bottles years ago, or that lakes would hold no oxygen.
Jesus said we serve ‘God or Mammon’ and Mammon
means ‘wealth’.
We do want to not buy too much, not have that
‘love for the things of this world’. I find it interesting
to see what $1 can do, and to live without anything
fancy. Thieves don’t want old, used, scratched
up things. Yet they work.
Speaking just from the investment side of things, gold it not too far off from all time highs which makes it a bad investment as it is likely to go down in value. Put some money into high dividend paying stocks that are currently undervalued and they should increase a lot more than gold. Be wise as serpents, yet harmless as doves.
How will gold go down in value when the cost of mining gold is actually losing money? Either they stop mining it, or eventually it will have to rise or skyrocket even in comparison to the US dollars devaluation (overprinting of money) and mind blowing debt. The only way it (gold) depreciates is through manipulation, the constant selling off of paper gold and the ever so slow motions of buying it back again.

Last I heard the cost of mining gold was around $400 an ounce. That leaves quite a bit of room for devaluation as gold is somewhere in the range of $1600 an ounce now.
The current financial reports say something quite the opposite to what you are telling me. But no matter what the actual costs are certain factors have to be taken into account. The multi trillion dollar US debt and devaluing / over printing of currencies worldwide, supply and demand etc etc. Gold generally goes up when economies are bad unless we have deflation which of course then all prices will go down. This has always happened throughout history, Gold and silver is God’s money and has been used in biblical times as well. It’s only since a couple of decades ago that countries have steered away from using silver coins. Have a look at your old US coins they all contain some elements of silver and compare it to what you use today. And then explain to me why countries felt the need to take those steps? Silver alone is used for industrial purposes, in your computer, your phone, hospitals, photography etc etc the price of silver is so cheap and some people are buying it up and storing it.
Whatever happens in the future, no one knows whether we move to an electronic money system, this seems limely. But gold and silver definitely has to rise
I would not call gold and silver God’s money. The earth and the fullness thereof is the Lord’s. Gold is an inanimate object and does no work for you. Money placed in stocks that pay dividends earn you money and puts people to work.
Shareholders also need to stand up and demand that they be paid dividends for their shares. Why pay for a share of stock that doesn’t pay you anything back? Shareholders also need to end excessive executive pay. The people need their money.
What in your opinion is money? The paper that has some printing on it? Do you how many of those are printed at the press? And at what cost to the public? Each time a US dollar is created it means someone has borrowed money. Money is created by the federal reserve at the flick of a switch on a computer screen. Where do you think it comes from and why do you think your country is in trillions of dollars in debt?
You really need to study this topic more accurately before making statements as to what you believe gold really is and is used for.

Yes, the paper that has some printing on it is our money. It is what we use to buy items we need and want. Gold is not used at any of the stores that I go to.

Er Biblical talents weren’t made from paper money, they were made from some form of precious metals including gold and or silver.

A talent, I believe, was a measure of gold. It was what was used as money in Jesus’s time. Now we use paper with printing on it as our money. It’s a lot easier to carry. And the wise slaves used the money they had and traded with it to obtain more. If you buy gold and hide it away, it doesn’t do anyone any good other than the gold miners. Gold has many uses and could be part of an investment portfolio, but not exclusive. If you are afraid to invest, then at least put money in the bank to draw interest and the bank will invest with it and put people to work. This is the way our capitalist society works according to God’s will and word.
What do you call it then? Since it is God who created it, have you read about the history of money? What people used before currency (paper money) came along?

I thought you were making fun of what I view as money on earth. Of course I believe that the love of money is the root of all evil and I agree that currency is a means to an end. But Michael seems to think for some reason that gold and silver is not valuable and not money, when right throughout history of mankind it’s always been used, stored, or traded. In Zimbabwe it was traded for food when their currency collapsed – it was the only method for their survival at the time. The same happened in other countries as well, when governments over printed and overinflated currencies through greed.
This has been my point all along , throughout this conversation with Michael, gold will always retain its value because it’s money. I do not advocate worshipping it, I don’t advocate putting your trust in it (God is the only person we can trust) however, as far as helping yourself , family and others are concerned in the case of a currency collapse it doesn’t hurt to store some of it, if you have the means to – just in case.

I think at some point however, that even gold will not be able to buy what we need, because most people won’t have any gold, or there will not be anything to buy.
At that point, bartering might be the only way to operate.

The advice I keep hearing from Jesus is “waste not, want not”.
There’s an 88 year old woman n China dying now…for 40 years she and her husband rescued abandoned babies. They were rag pickers…making a living going through garbage and recycling things. They had a small house with spare furnishings.
They found the babies in the trash bins. 4 they kept and raised with their daughter, the others went to friends and relatives nearby. The youngest of hers is 7, a lively, sweet boy.
God is using the internet to show us the power of love…that He will always keep the compassionate.

There’s a good human interest article in this weeks “New Yorker” about Concord, Massachusetts in the last few decades. The usual cast is all there…yuppies, trust fund old money people, farmers.
The author describes the trust fund inhabitants well…humble because they didn’t earn their money, they were thrifty, modest, careful, and very democratic…sitting down to lunch with their “help” who comes one day a week. It’s a really good, pleasant article from a local.
As a housewife I have always had to be demure because I’ve “worked” so little. Always at poverty line but not indebted much.
Isn’t this what Cain and Abel are about? Abel is the gentle herdsman, Cain the self made gatherer of crops heaped into barns. This is the great story of all economics. The love of money leads to murder…but first as with Cain, it murders the human soul.
There’s a lot of ways to think of money…but my least favorite is the determined go-getter puffed up with himself for his own success…leaving God out of the equation….taking for granted his brains, education, determination, health, which are all unearned gifts from the hand of God!!

There is a small phrase on US coins – “In God We Trust.”
I pray “we”, and I don’t mean just US, remember what that means.
For the past 20 years or so, every time I picked up a coin off the ground (usually a penny – not even silver), I recall “In God I trust”.
We are to “seek first the Kingdom of God (righteousness, peace and Joy in the Spirit)…”
Practical matters – try to receive change from a $1,500 solid gold piece when buying food, gas or paying an Am Exp account.
When the AC sits in power – the banking system will be a little bit more interested in who is your God (testimony and Blood of the Lamb) or who is your god ( AC ) than how much gold/silver and cash is in your account.
In God we trust is surely a joke since it is on money,
what a mixture!!! And the ‘we’ there certainly

As for stocks, it shocked me (once upon a time when I could be shocked) how religious institutions invested so much in corporations making A-bombs and land mines. cosmetics using human fetuses (collegen), the whole dismal list of cruelty. I boycotted Nestle in the 70s over infant formula in 3rd world clinics.
Religion misbehaving no longer shocks me…I’m almost shock proof. Sometimes it pays off. My father left me shares in BP and BoA which I promptly sold because I disapproved of their business tactics. Then they both went way down. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day!!
I think investing is harmless IF it’s not a blind trust and you make sure it’s an ethical company….almost impossible. But all real trading is insider and for the very well off.

This verse must have been on his mind – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart (will) and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5)
The motto on coins and bills have not been enough of a reminder to the people of our nation, under God.
I understand your viewpoint entirely! “WE” cannot serve two Gods! As is documented, “In God WE Trust!” IS a “Motto” of the U.S.! And is therefore used “as is!” However, by the same token, is it not the way of SATAN to “mix” Biblical Scripture with that of his own? Of course it is! And here is a good example of it by imprinting it on our money!
“By-the-way”…it does NOT say, “…money is the root of all evil…”, in the Holy Scriptures! I’ll let you discover what it truly says on your own! Far be it for me to interpret what only God has to reveal to you!
Matthew 6:19-21 declares; 9 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
As true believers we know that if God is concerned about what the birds will eat, he will provide for you. Action: be good stewards with what He has given you, with love and obedience pay your tithe, finally trust God that He will keep His promise. He will do it!

It is interesting to look objectively at all of the comments posted thus far. From my perspective, being from another country (Australia) we do not have those “Blasphemous” words etched on the rim of our coins.
As very few Americans realise the words are really
“In GOD (Gold…Oil…Drugs) we trust.”
I know I will stir up a HORNETS nest in giving this observation, but it is documented on many sites on the Internet by a very BRAVE whistle blower called Michael C. Ruppert. You need only “Google” …911, or that name, and you will find that the U.S.A. has been living HIGH for the past few decades on DRUG money, and the WHOLE earth is effected by the drug epidemic that it produced. Because we are told in the scriptures that we MUST NOT charge USURY (interest) in our money, the outcome is that the RICH get richer, and the POOR get poorer, and to cover the payment of interest, every country has debts that never can be serviced, thus to bolster the U.S.Dollar, Drugs and Oil were/are used to keep the Dollar up in value.
I have noticed that many sites that Mike Rupert has used to get his message out, have been sabotaged, as I can’t even find the ONE HOUR long video he posted on U-Tube a few weeks ago. I think that many don’t realise that MOST of the WORLD currencies since 1967 have CHANGED the METAL of their coins from SILVER to stainless steel or some other worthless alloy, so within a few months when the currencies and stock markets collapse, we are RIPE for the introduction of a CASHLESS society where you will be controlled by the World Ruling Body who will issue each of us with an Identifying Number whereby we can BUY as well as SELL. It is ONLY those FOOLISH enough to think that the PAPER and worthless COINS are going to save them from starvation IF they refuse to go along with the introduction of the new system, and will have a rude awakening. Those who are not old enough to remember what happened when these Banknotes (Promissory notes) without GOLD as a backup when Hitler kept printing more notes, it was only those who had precious metals to barter with, that could at lest eat something in the last World War.
You don’t have to make Gold or Silver your GOD, it is just LIKE the currencies we are already using, but Gold and Silver is of much greater value than the currencies when everyone wakes up to the fact and realise that we have all been fooled! Those who HAVE Gold and Silver coins will at least have time on their side to rearrange their life accordingly.
I noticed one person said that you would need to cut the ingots into smaller pieces to buy a loaf of bread … that person doesn’t know that we ALSO have COINS of Gold and Silver available RIGHT NOW, and at the moment the price of Silver is WAY under-valued, and is predicted to Sky-rocket before this year ends.
I believe that if we sincerely pray when the time comes, the Lord will PROVIDE our daily needs, but it is up to us to manage our resources in a wise way, for it is our own foolish trust in the system to continue on forever, that will soon be our own undoing.
What most don’t realise, is that the wealthy do NOT pay TAXES on Precious metals in their possession!

Currently in the USA, we do not buy gold in investments, but gold notes, indicating there is gold stored somewhere.
so even those who have gold metal are few.
I think the gold buyers sell the gold to the government, and the average consumer has nothing for himself.

I agree with you 100%. There will be a time in the near future when gold and silver will be useless, but that time is not yet. Living by faith is not an excuse for doing nothing. We are to do what we are able to, all the while trusting in the Father, whether you have nothing, a little, or a lot, it really doesn’t matter. He meets us at our point of need. Gold and silver were first used in scripture as a means of exchange when Abraham bought the cave to bury his wife in. It is the purest and most accurate medium of exchange that has ever been. I heard this analogy a while back and it is true today: in the early 1900’s, in this country, a one ounce $20 gold piece would buy a fine mens suit. An ounce of gold today is worth around $1600 and will still buy a fine men’s suit. The purchasing power of an ounce of gold has remained constant, what has changed is our manipulated and inflated currency. Hyperinflation is coming, and coming quickly. Wasn’t the final solution to prevent captives from returning home and demanding their property back? Wasn’t that really the purpose of the Holocaust…to confiscate wealth? That is why Rothchild banks, technically of Jewish race, backed Hitler all the way.
Ethnic Jews, like many outsiders, liked gold and jewelry because it was easy to hide and move physically across borders. Gypsies also did this. So they were the big victims. The whole point was their property.

I am not so full of good advise, as I have made plenty of errors in judgement, having invested my inheritance on Silver when it was rising rapidly at around Aus.$42.00 an Oz, as it is just under Aus.$26.00 an Oz. as we speak. I also prematurely advised my sister in the States to do the same … at that same time!
If you look up the following site, you will find some good advise as to what metal we should invest in, and I think I was a little hasty in my actions, but in hindsight, I have NOT made the WRONG choice.
I found out later that GOLD had been released to flood the market to slow the rush to buy gold by panic buying, so that trust in the U.S.Dollar would remain to be “seen” as being of value. The problem in flooding the market with gold, was that the INDIAN government bought about One Third of what the Fed. Reserve had released! From several sources, I read that we have less than a few months to see a collapse of the monetary systems of the world.
I believe we should not leave too much cash assets in the banking system, and if possible, move to a place where we can survive the coming time of trouble, by being able to grow something, or hunt and fish, as a flat in New York would only give you a choice of eating concrete or burning the furniture to stay warm in winter.
As Jesus read in Isaiah 61:1,2 – as recorded in Luke 4:19, He stopped short of COMPLETING that Prophecy, I found that He announced that He was fulfilling that prophecy, but it appears that the prophecy had a TWO-fold fulfilment, in that BOTH halves of the prophecy fall on the JUBILEE. If that is the case, then the NEXT Jubilee will fall on the 23rd of September 2015! …being the 50th year from the UNIFICATION of Jerusalem, at the fulfilment of the times of the Gentiles (Luke 21:24) That is the Generation that will not pass till all will be fulfilled (Luke 21:32)

In Katrina we saw a microcosm of actual catastrophe. God will let us know what to do at the right time. Read “The great Deluge” which begins with the people who got things right…Fish and Wildlife, Plaquemines Parish, the girl that ran the Humane Society, the city workers at the dams, the shopping cart minister, the USCG. Few got on the mainstream news.
Basically their behavior is like Sully Sulenberger, the pilot. They all did their jobs. They only did their duty. Oddly, they all survived while saving others.

In May of 2011 Joplin, MO. was hit by a tornado one mile wide. It destroyed 25% of the city. 158 people were killed. That was part of a weather system that brought over 400 tornados in less than 72 hours.

Right now, it is hell on earth in North Texas. How long does it take to die of no water? Will the government come save you? Use the brain G-d gave you, and be ready for anything.

Paul had wealth; all of the saints in the Tanakh were blessed with “favour” in worldly things. You are judging others on things that you evidently don’t understand, based primarily on how you feel about it. You quoted a verse only using the half that promoted your viewpoint:

I didn’t say that Paul was rich. What I did say was that “Paul had wealth”, and he did, even as the other 12 Apostles “had” wealth. Had is the past tense of have and does not convey the necessity of direct ownership. Basically, you can” have” and control something without actually owning it. Case in point, read the conversation between Felix and Paul in Rome. Specifically, why Paul was in Jerusalem;
Acts 24
17 Now after several years I came up [to Jerusalem] to bring to my people contributions of charity and offerings”.
In like manner, didn’t the believers in the book of Acts bring gold and silver and lay it at the Apostles feet, to be distributed among the widows and orphans. Who had the possession and control of the gold and silver at that point? Was it not the Apostles? Do you think Paul and the other Apostles saw these gifts as disgusting money that should be denounced and rejected? How do you think the people it was going to benefit, received it? Also, in the Acts, Ananias and Sapphira lied to the Apostles about having brought all their money and given it, while in actuality holding some of it back. What were they condemned for? Lying to Ruach HaKodesh, not holding back money. Peter even told them as much. It was their money to do with as they wished. It had nothing to do with the money, it had to do with their response to it.
Conversely, we have Christian ministries that “in the name of Jesus” take offerings to help others and lavish it on themselves with homes on every coast and every sort of indulgence. But even with this, it is not the money that is the culprit, but rather the lack of morals of the one handling it. That is the bottom line here.
You then quote the verse about “man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of Yah” (sorry, but I am not into Greek gods). But never mind that, your inference is that we should view the things of this world that Yah has given us, with disdain. We are a dichotomy, both flesh and spirit, with the spirit most important, even to death by not receiving bread, if that is what is necessary. But outside of that, bread is a sustainer of life to this body, which is His temple. It is good and right to live for the things of the spirit rather than the flesh, but while bringing your flesh into obedience learn to be thankful for what Yah has provided for you in this earth.

For Yah “so loved the world” that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever should believe in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Give of what you have to others in need (both physically and spiritually), use the rest and be thankful. It is the way he has made this life to be. You are letting the condition of the world control and pervert how you understand things.
Lastly, to bring all of this full circle, you make the statement that “WE have been on the Path for a long time and are seasoned”, yet you blame an inanimate object instead of those abusing the object. I believe the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China) need America to be fairly prosperous…many of their children are studying here, living here. We buy their exports. This is true for Britain, Australia, etc.
But they now have the clout to prevent quantitative easing, which is the way the huge banks are ruining us all anyway. BRIC countries want a sea change to asset currency instead of fiat (electronic zeros to lend at interest which is business as usual in the west).

The EU central bankers (and money/power behind them) have done the work to establish a “crises” large enough and broad enough to flip the world’s currency/financial/market systems.

The crash that is coming as planned – is about complete. The powers brokers can now give cover – even in the US. Why Sept or Oct, the season of the fall Feasts of Israel?

I’ve been considering the 4 seals since November 2010, and working out of the 3rd seal.
Been expecting the crash/shift to occur between Spring of 2012 but no later than the elections of 2012, evident to all by Christmas 2012.
Several reasons:
1) A couple financial analysts pointed to a crash occurring during 2012.
Some forecast pined it between July – Sept. Others said by Oct 2012.
The Stansberry report (I read it winter 2011) is one such report.
2) Your post regarding historical patterns is a good one/interesting too. Historically, Oct 2008 and 1929 are commonly known.
3) As I posted here (you need to read my reply comments too),
– the first two seals are open when considering the red seal opened (Arab Spring) and understanding the first seal opened Oct 9, 2009.
Therefore, the third seal must fully open soon. It is an economic/financial issue. The objective of the 3rd seal is to break what is established to create “his” new world system.
The one world currency system must emerge from a restructured US dollar based system and restructured euro. When a new global currency system emerges – inflation will go through the roof in the US.
There will also be implications to oil /price per barrel, which also impacts the economic “scales” of energy costs and transporation.
Who knows when Israel may strike Iran as that will impact oil prices too.
But, the work of believers (oil and wine) are not harmed by seal 3. The Lord, strong and mighty, will protect and provide for the remnant and His work continues.
4) When I began to learn of the soon coming economic crises back in November 2010, I asked the Lord “How long”.
He pointed me to Joel 2. I did not try to find these verses and was not looking for an answer to my question – when I read Isaiah 37:30-32.
” And [now, Hezekiah, says the Lord] this shall be the sign [of these things] to you: you shall eat this year what grows of itself, and in the second year that which springs from the same. And in the third year sow and reap, and plant vineyards and eat the fruit of them. And the remnant that has survived of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward. For out of Jerusalem will go forth a remnant, and a band that survives out of Mount Zion. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.”
That translates (for me), to be 2010-2012 and 2013 begins the work of the “144,000”.
5) A few weeks after asking the Lord that question, I had a very sharp/clear vision in Dec 2010.
The message of that vision was for my former son-in-law (Michael) and his successful business. So, I asked the Lord what should I do? The Lord led me to Habakkuk 2:1-4.
I put the vision in writing and sent it to him December 28, 2010.
In April 2011 – I received confirmation. The vision confirmation was in writing – leaving no doubts to its message or purpose.
Habakkuk 2:1-4 was fulfilled.
Then, the Lord led me to consider Michael’s reaction to the confirmation given to him.
Please read chapter 2 verse 4 til the end of the chapter.
You can “see” the drive for more and more “wealth” at the expense of all that is “good” and “noble” and “honorable” – idols rule.
I was to warn Michael and I did, telling him to get his priorities in order. He, along with many others (proud: self made men/women) will loose “everything”.
Key verse “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; but the just shall live by his faith.”
The crash that is coming – it will hit hard! It will bring the proud to either repentance or curse the Lord.
Then, the AC is revealed early 2013, as the following posting sets out.
Be a wise virgin – learn what than means. Put on the Armor of Light, walking in the Light. Put on the Armor of God. Consider Rev 12:11 and humble yourself before Him.

First of all Gold and Silver is GODS money.when man makes hiz own money (fiat debt based usury ponzi scheme) thats then problems occur.
Secondly most of the world hasnt got a clue about gold and silver and its history as money to be worshipping it as an idol.Most of the world is chasing the anti christs paper dollars
Thirdly yes gold and silver isnt something you can eat when crisis occurs skills such as making fire and hunting (yes things will get that bad) will be the most important skills you can have BUT when the monetary system is reformed those who have Gods money will succeed.
