Jesus at the Door

Most people will not open the door.

–

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone should hear My voice and open the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.    Rev 3:20

–

I have been knocking literally on someone’s door for 20 years.

–

They will not open it, will not speak to me, no matter how much I plead, entreat or encourage.

It seems more important to me, than to them.

–

They just do not want a relationship with me.

They do not want to chat, or be in the same room with me.

They reject my presence as an interruption, a burden to be avoided.

If I complain, I am told I am bothering them, and I am too critical for complaining.

–

Someday, I will die, and be gone forever,

and the knocking will stop.

The chance to open the door will be gone.

–

They most likely will not mourn my death, or miss me.

–

–

I know how Jesus feels, when people refuse to answer his call.

Rejected, and unloved.

The pain is unending….

–

I know He, like me, keeps trying, hoping there will be a change.

A remote chance the door will open, and someone will want Him.

He has to keep trying.

–

Someday, He won’t be knocking anymore.

For those that reject his knock, it won’t be like with me.

I will die, and life will go on with the person.

–

But if Jesus stops knocking, then life will STOP for that person.

For eternity.

–

Jesus will not be knocking much longer.

–

–

Woe to them who reject his call.

–

I encourage people to soften their hard cold hearts, and take the opportunity for true happiness.

The suffering ahead of them is eternal, and unbearable.

–

And for those who would think Jesus no longer would care…

He would feel much sorrow.

Just like I would

When love is given and given, and not returned.

And rejection is consistent,

and one is cursed for trying to get the door open.
