Lazy Christians – why don’t they go deep enough?

A fun look at lazy Christians who could do better.

There is an amazing tendency for Christians to just nurse some pastor, or website, for milk once a week, and never go for the meat of the Word, which actually requires some independent study, and thought on their part.

Why are people so lazy, and not want to think?

The brain is there for our use, but most people have it turned off. They prefer to be sponges, and just take in what others work for.

Going deep with God requires time. It requires one on one time with God, being alone.

People do not like to be alone, because they actually think they are alone when no one is around!! (Guess who is also there?)

Maybe they are hiding from God.

God is there, waiting for them to talk to Him, ready to inspire them and have a real father to child conversation.

Maybe it is because we would rather play with our toys – TV, computer, the family dog, cell phone, or too busy overeating our favorite foods.

Maybe we are just babies, and we, being too much in the flesh, just “do not feel like it.”

Cats have nine lives. We only have one. We should spend our time doing times worthwhile, and go deep, and find exciting things about God. The world is a wonderful mystery, with secret facts about God.

All we have to do is start sticking our nose into things more and find the pleasant surprises that God has left for us to find.

We, as believers, must allow the Holy Spirit to energize us and help us leap into the deep. The exercise will make us free in mind, no longer bound by boring, dreary concepts, because the revelation will be the refreshing we need to leap into each day of life.

After all, the brain is a muscle, and like any muscle, it will go weak if not exercised.

So, if we do not use our brains, we might end up like this guy.

  2. they are affiliated with fear. They are like the apostles. When the tuff get going, they fear. Men with little faith. That is why it was best that Christ left, so they can gain faith. What is not seen is still to believe in it. Just because we can’t see Christ does not mean he isnt there. In fact he is there more places then one, when he was in flesh…Believe and do not be frightened. Fight the fears..

  5. Hi Marianne,

God is closer than our own breath.
People think by closing and locking the door they are finally alone.
In hiding away from God and not within their own prayer closet, where they can go to hear His Voice.
The voices of many seems stronger and louder than The Voice of God.
They are not lazy, they are not Christians … no no no ….
They are unbelievers, they are lovers of themselves and not lovers of God.
The day will come that they will wail!
The day will come that they will gnash their teeth when they finally hear His Voice for the first time in their selfish lives, saying:
‘Depart from Me I never knew you!!’

Then the fun will be over!

  6. Yes, Marianne, we all err towards the shallow end but eventually
this will get us into deep water, so why not be done
with it and jump into the deep end with Jesus-at
least he will keep us afloat in this deep water.

( yes I know it’s corny but I’m just trying to be tactful ! )

  7. Essentially, each man must think for themselves. Nobody is going to ever pray for another soul without consent first. I feel as though we maybe living in the final days. When in a populace as we have. Whereby, the common man has to watch every single word they say. Others, can say whatever they want & get away with things? Our neglect to show mutual appreciation & love has taken a back seat to that of compromise. We have given the enemy of our souls a reason to attack! Let us remember that that Lord is such an avenger of evil.

  8. They are super lazy… I am so glad that I go deeper with God daily than the AVERAGE christians…

  9. dead serious.
