Let God Arise!

Let Him?

Psalm 68:1

Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.

I checked 2 different sources, and one said “may God arise,” and the other one said “let God arise.”

This made me think.

We have to “let” an all powerful, holy sovereign God act????

When do we hold God back from acting, or arising.?

One would think He did not need our permission or cooperation to enter into our lives, but apparently He has it set up that way in some circumstances.

But, it made me think that there are times when we get in His way, and obstruct Him with negative emotions or actions.

Anger, greed, unbelief, un-forgiveness, selfishness, fear, prayerlessness, etc.

It is called sin of many kinds.

The Word of God promises that God will come to the rescue of those who call upon His name in sincerity and truth.

He is willing and able to abundantly provide for us, beyond anything we could ever imagine or ask for.

–

So this might be one reason for what seems like unanswered prayer.

We are not “letting” God answer us!

We may have a secret fault that needs to be repented of.

We cannot approach the throne of grace, unless we have “clean hands and a pure heart.”

We need to ask God what we are doing to hamper His acting on our behalf, instead of wondering why He has not done anything yet.

If God seems to be silent in your life, start over, and see if you are hampering your own answer to prayer.

Be honest, and evaluate your innermost soul, and look for obstacles you have placed there.

Repent.

Then, with a clean heart, ask again.

And let God arise in your situation.
