Moving for Safety during Tribulation

What does the Bible say about relocating during dangerous times?

Some believe in a pre-tribulation rapture.

So moving away from danger is not a concern for them.

Others believe that they will be here for at least part of the dangerous times ahead.

Their concern is being able to survive, and protect themselves, as best possible.

Some have made tremendous moves to different states, or less populated regions.

References regarding fleeing the danger:

1. Story of Noah and family rescued from the flood – wrath of God comes against mankind for sin.

Genesis 6-8

2. Story of Lot and family rescued from Sodom and Gomorrah – wrath of God come against cities for sin.

Genesis 18- 19

3. Fleeing to the hills after the abomination – notice that it is just Judea, not all Israel.

It is a local move to the hills outside the city of Jerusalem. He did not tell them to leave the country, or local region.

Of course, he was not discussing famine, plagues, thermonuclear war, or missile attacks.

He was discussing just the abomination.

Mat 24:15 ¶ When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso reads, let him understand:)

Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

Mat 24:17   Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

Mat 24:18   Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

References regarding staying where you are:

1. Parable of the Wheat and the Tares – here, the wheat stays in the field, and is not removed out of the way from the tares.

In fact, the tares are what is removed first, leaving the wheat behind.

They are both allowed to experience the growth and harvest season together.

The wheat is not destroyed, just because it is in among the tares.

Mat 13:24 ¶ Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

Mat 13:25   But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

Mat 13:26   But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

Mat 13:27   So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

Mat 13:28   He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

Mat 13:29   But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

Mat 13:30   Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

2. The instruction to “endure to the end,” implies staying where the danger is, and facing the issues, or it could mean that there is really no safe place to go for many. Many will have to die.

Mat 24:5   For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:6   And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

Mat 24:7   For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

Mat 24:13   But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

I think there is a distinction between:

a. purging / purification through suffering and

b. the wrath of God, which is meant to destroy.

Jesus makes the comment:

Mat 24:22   And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

This indicates that believers will be around, and God is aware they are there.

There is no reason for a rapture, or a return of Christ for his saints, if they are all dead, because God killed them already.

Believers should expect purging, but not wrath.

So when the wrath aspect comes, believers should be gone.

If they are in faith, believers can survive where they are, although it may be meant for them to suffer martyrdom.

Then, in that case, it does not matter where they are. They will die as a martyr.

Not all will be martyrs. Only God knows who these people are.

My sense, which is just my opinion, is that the more one has suffered for their beliefs throughout their life, the less they will suffer at the end.

And, the easier, and more unchallenged, one’s life has been, the greater the possibility of suffering later.

We all have to be tested for our faithfulness.

Jesus told us to expect tribulation of some kind in our lives, but that we should still be of good cheer:

Jhn 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

My personal experience in my own life is this:

to try to remove oneself if possible. That is wisdom.

But, if you find yourself “stuck” in the circumstances, and cannot leave, then you have to deal with the trouble in the most Christian way you can.

We all need to seek God’s guidance in the troubled days ahead.

Do not go to man for answers.

Go to the Lord in prayer.

The instructions have been there from the beginning:

Deu 4:30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, [even] in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shall be obedient unto his voice;

Deu 4:31   (For the LORD thy God [is] a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he swore unto them.

  1. Isaiah 26-20,21..Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast…..For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.
Isaiah 26-19 shows all men who ever lived on earth will be here…and God’s people will be hid from the wrath…

    We are there now….

  2. I believe when all of this happens, it will cause people to cry out to God. 1. economy crashes 2. riots and looting and people on their knee’s. so I can see that by Gods mercy and Grace an empowering to accept martyrdom will be there as well as a place to go for refuge will also be there. I believe a lot of Christians will all of a sudden have an ability to focus on God.

now of coarse I am believing for a warning myself and thru a true prophetic unction from more mature Christians I know. Because I know God lets his prophets know whats about to take place. like Abraham and The Apostle Paul and others..

The rumours, as yet unconfirmed but which began with the state-run Cuban news agency Prensa Latina, have triggered an outpouring of conspiracy theories, with speculation rife about what President Bush’s supposed interest in the “chaco”, a semi-arid lowland in the Paraguay’s north

Argentinean Adolfo Perez Esquivel warned that the real war will be fought not for oil, but for water, and recalled that Acuifero Guaraní is one of the largest underground water reserves in South America, running beneath Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay (larger than Texas and California together)

    Public Extermination Project
by Janet C. Phelan Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2004 at 3:58 PM

Ms. Phelan is obviously onto something. DWP is constantly talking about “reclaimed water” with all the chemicals in it and putting all this pipe in the ground, it’s pretty obvious that there’s a parallel distribution system to provide good water to sections of town and bad to others. Guess who gets the good water? With flouride (rat poison), chlorine (chemical warfare agent), other “treatment chemicals” (highly toxic acids and bases), along with chemicals in “reclaimed water” it’s obvious that DWP is putting poisonous, mutagenic water into the drinking water to affect changes at the behest of the New World Order. As you know, Bush is from Skull and Bones and therefore a high level member of the Illuminati. This doesn’t bode well and is why I only drink pure rainwater. Do you understand Mandrake?

NWO Depopulation Phase 2: Sabotaging Your Home Water Supply

    From Ken Adachi
    June 19, 2007

Janet Phalen has been trying to get out this story for over three years. Her first expose on water supply sabotage was titled “Public Extermination Project” ( Simply stated, cities such as Los Angeles are installing special valves and extra delivery piping into residential water supply systems. If you read Janet’s first expose story, you will see how thoroughly the operation is being concealed and held in secrecy under a hush, hush “Homeland Security” cover. Her more recent story linked below includes more info and photos not seen in the earlier expose. I do not doubt the story she is trying to get out. It fits perfectly with the overall Illuminati depopulation agenda, especially their intent to depopulate America, the biggest stumbling block to the installation of a One World government. .

You have no idea what Janet has gone through in the past 3 years and the difficult conditions she has tried to survive through! That could be a book in and of itself.

I’ve saw a great deal of roads adjacent to residential homes being torn up and new water piping being installed all around Irvine California in 2005 and 2006. Practically every major street throughout Irvine had new piping installed. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

  5. if there is a word to describe this new century, that word is EVIL, EVIL IS ESCALATING RAMPAGE and no one can stop it! where are the prophets? why we don’t hear from prophets? what is the task of the prophets? INTERSECCION, that is their duty! the prophets intercede in the gap between God and men! in the days of Elijah there was not water there was not rain, there was not harvest, no food, Israel rely on the rain for food, but God shut down the heavens, because Israel did not obey the God’s laws, the famine was so severe that 2 women decided to kill their children and eat them! not much have change in 4000 years, God is still God and human race should look for the face of the Lord and humbles themself and pray and God will hear their cry and have mercy on them…….. Elijah pray and the rain fall….. and the enemies of Israel flee! and let all the food and Israel eat……blessed be the name of the Go of Israel.amen

    • I believe I have found a true prophet. Go to the website and see what you think. He is not popular even with our churches, because he stresses keeping the commandments and there is a lot more to keeping the commandments than you realise. I believe the only way to escape the tribulation that we are beginning this year is to live a Godly life and strive to please Him, leaving this world and our lives behind. Pray for wisdom and for God to open your eyes and ears. Pray always to be worthy to escape the things to come.

  6. Marianne;
Believers in Jesus Christ not going to go throught the Tribulation. It’s coming. We’re not in it yet. I think it can get a lot more EVIL.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! “All the warning signs are there”.

I have to agree with Luisa. Where are the Prophets? I have a lot of issues with some of the Christian conferences I have gone to.

My daughter tells me Jesse Ventura is really anti-Christian. No one else is doing what he is. Why aren’t the Christians talking about these things?

Christians want to live in Mayberry again, like the Andy Griffith show I posted over on:

    • Hi Kitti

We have so many false prophets, that no one will believe a true one when they do show up. The true ones do not become popular and well known….only the false ones that promise money get the headlines. Sad, but true.

As a former scientist, I can tell you that within weeks, they can manufacture enough biological material to wipe out a large population.

The bible predicts pestilences. While the labs should be careful with what they have, they are still fallible, and mistakes occur. If you add the evil factor in, some may intentionally release the material. I can also tell you we can manufacture any DNA sequence we want. We can make anything…no matter how abnormal.

    • Hey Kitti,

Regarding prophets, unfortunately, some of us wouldn’t know a true prophet if he/she bit us in the butt! LOL

Regarding Mayberry, I would love to live in mayberry! Traffic tickets were only $5 dollars and if you did get locked up for loitering, Aunt Bee gave you a home cooked meal!🙂

  7. 1 OF 4

  8. Some encouragement for the 2011

    David Wilkerson Today

Christ’s resurrection was preceded by a short period of suffering. We do die! We do suffer! There is pain and sorrow.

We do not want to suffer or be hurt. We want painless deliverance, supernatural intervention. “Do it, God,” we pray, “because I am weak and always will be. Do it all while I go my way, waiting for a supernatural deliverance.”

We may blame our troubles on demons. We seek out a man of God and hope he can cast out the demon so that we can go on our way with no pain or suffering. All done! Breeze right through to a peaceful life of victory. We want someone to lay hands on us and drive away all the dryness. But victory is not always without suffering and pain. Look at your sin. Face it. Suffer it through, just as Jesus did. Enter into his suffering. Suffering endures for a night, but joy always follows in the morning.

God’s love demands a choice. If God supernaturally lifted us out of every
battle without pain or suffering, it would abort all trials and all temptation; there would be no free choice and no testing as by fire. It would be God superimposing his will on mankind. He chooses to meet us in our dryness and show us how it can become the way into a new life of faith.

It is often the will of God that we suffer dryness and even pain. “Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator” (1 Peter 4:19).

Thank God, suffering is always the short period before final victory! “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you” (1 Peter 5:10).

  9. Hi, I agree – any physical “moves” of any kind will be an activity of wasted effort during Tribulation. It is only our spirtual state which matters now and in the time to come.

The total world belongs to God – so whether we live in Israel or Bosnia or the United States at the end, it doesn’t matter. God will have plumbed the depths of each hearts and souls and the strength of our belief in and love of God will determine our fate, not where we physically are located.

God makes it clear that believers will to through the Tribulation but will be thoroughly protected (see Psalm 91) “…Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness nor for the destruction that wastes at noon day….A thousand shall fall at thy side and 10,000 at thy right hand, but it will not come near thee…Because he has set his love upon me (God) therefore, I will deliver him and he shall call upon me and I will answer him and I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him”.

To me, this says it all – From 1 Peter 1-9:

(We are born) “into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire — may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls”.

    Love, Mary Anne

  10. Remember when Noah was in the Ark, God held it safe in his hand and kept them from harm. But also remember Noah was still inside the ark shovelling manure the whole time. He never promises it will be easy, He only promises He will be with us even till the end.

  12. Hi Larry,

Yes, it won’t be easy as was in the 1 Peter verse noted above:

“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” Peter tells us that even though it will not be easy (and many of us are in grief shoveling manure!) – we greatly rejoice nonetheless at the knowledge of his glorious coming!! Don’t get distracted by the manure!!

The Rapture and Corrie Ten Boom
In A History of the Early Church & Post-Tribulation Doctrine, author Richard Perry presents his defense for the post-tribulation eschatology, and buttresses his arguments with the opinions of the late Corrie Ten Boom.

First things first – if the pre-tribulation rapture is true, then it would be wrong to withhold it from Christians, to label it as false, or to marginalize it or vilify those who proclaim it. If it is true, it is God’s truth, and God’s truth — ALL of it — belongs to ALL of God’s people.

Let’s be clear on what it is that we believe: that there is a prophesied specific time of extreme tribulation that will affect the entire earth during the very last years before Christ’s visible return to establish His Kingdom and begin to reign on the throne of David, and that Christians who are alive when this particular period of tribulation begins will be removed from the earth beforehand.

THAT is the pre-trib rapture position, and to attempt to make it apply to ALL hardship and ALL tribulation throughout the entire “church age” is to misrepresent the eschatology. Yes, Christians will be persecuted … but to a point. The church has endured persecution and tribulation since Jesus left. All we’re saying is that the final seven years of tribulation are not for the church.

That being said, let us consider for the sake of the argument that Christians will NOT be spared. Let’s say they must prepare themselves spiritually for end-time tribulation. Just what does this “preparation” look like? How should the Christian proceed?

I would suggest that, first of all, the Christian deal with all known sin. Repent! When appropriate and possible, make restitution! Clean up your life – identify and discard every bad habit, every evil vice. Get all the garbage out of your home and out of your life. Get your prayer life on track; live by faith. If you are facing hardship, and especially hardship directed at you by an anti-Christian world that wants to destroy your faith, it would seem that your optimal preparations would be quite clear. You need to get your faith established. If you are being persecuted, you sure don’t want sin in your life to get between you and God.

BUT – if you look at my suggested activities, you will see that they are exactly the same as I recommend for those anticipating the rapture. In other words, whether we live or whether we leave, we are the Lord’s. Preparing for the rapture also prepares you for hardship.

The problem is that the professional clergy does not prepare the saints for ANYTHING. Many “believers” have such a casual view of sin that they see no need to deal with it; they think the rapture is a come-as-you-are party, and that spots and wrinkles, or even the total absence of a wedding garment, are nothing to be concerned about. “Jesus loves me so much that sin doesn’t matter! Let’s party down!!” I personally know people who consider themselves Christians who refuse to believe in the imminent rapture … and also refuse to believe in imminent tribulation! They think things are gonna stay about the same, or eventually get better again.

I think Miss Corrie mis-identified the problem. At least she’s correct in stating that there is a problem. But the problem is not Pre-trib eschatology, but American ecclesiology. The American way of “doing church” doesn’t prepare anyone for much of anything. Going to a building and having someone lecture you for 45 minutes every Sunday morning is not the abundant Christian life. Singing hymns only equips you to sing hymns. Listening to “professional” Christians equips you to listen. Participating in the “Christian” youth group equips you to play video games or go to a theme park. Practically NONE of the Christian busy-work in American-style churches equips the saints for the hard work of living for Christ in a world that hates Him. Instead, we have embraced “Pagan Christianity.” Most of the folks who I know who ARE equipped grew up at home on their own. They started their own small group, did their own Bible study or otherwise started taking their Lord very seriously. Very few are equipped or even encouraged by their “church leadership.”

And Corrie allowed herself to become part of the problem. She has allowed herself (may she rest in peace) to become a “Christian celebrity.” That’s how we “do church” here. Most of us just spectate. Christianity, for many, is just another item on the “To Do” list that is checked off on Sunday morning. We want celebrities: the big name preachers and the big name musicians and the notorious sinners who got saved … or the concentration camp survivors. The thing that gets left out is God’s grace. Corrie endured the camp by grace; the same grace that holds my life together. But we prefer celebrities … just like the world.

I agree that most American Christians are unprepared for either rapture or tribulation. The problem is not with the eschatology, however. It’s with a liturgical, organizational (rather than organic) religionized Christianity that does not allow for the equipping of the saints, mainly because it strips Christ of His proper headship and replaces Him with Christian celebrities and professional clergy.

Final thought: Pre-trib rapture belief is not a heresy. Heresies mis-represent God and replace God-centered priorities with man-centered ones. Much “prosperity theology” is heretical because it posits that the comfort of man is paramount to holiness. “Family-centered” ministries also err in placing the “needs” of the family before our duty to love and serve God. Most of the pre-tribbers I know love God first and foremost; many have lost relationships with family members because they love the Lord first. The real heresy in this argument is the heresy that the body of Christ is an organization run by professionals, rather than an organism headed by Christ.

  15. well done Wynonna!”I can only imagine”…Wynonna makes a stand for Christ at her concert!!

  16. Hi, there is no pre trib rapture, that is deception. Follow Jewish prophecy and the Feasts of Israel/Jesus and you find the answer to the coming tribulation/WW III (2015). Jesus will return in a Sabbath year (He is Lord of the Sabbath and a Jubilee year, the next is 2018. You have articles by Senier van Rensburg, in the book (Voice of a Prophet) he visualised a rebellion in SA at the start of WW III, after which the Christians will rule Southern Africa and many will emigarte or return to SA. Also possibly parts of South America Christians can flee to.

    • hi allan

I do not believe in a pre-trib rapture either, at least according to traditional definitions.

The place of refuge for christians is interesting. I hope it comes to pass, but most christians will not be able to travel. money and politics might keep them bound where they are.

      • Marianne

You say that you don’t beleave in a pre -trib which is before the seven year tribulation so due you beleave in mid why

        • dear flybird.

The definition of tribulation is what is the issue here.

Jesus said we would go through tribulation, but if endured to the end we would be saved.

There is a final week of Daniel, but it is not all tribulation.

Both the book of Daniel and the Book of Revelation indicate the time of trouble is 1260 days, or 42 months, or a time, times and half a time. This is all 3 1/2 years.

The 7 seals indicate tribulation. trouble created by man against man.

The 7 trumpets and vials indicate wrath. We are not appointed unto wrath, according to scripture.

So I see us going through tribulation or trouble, but NOT the wrath of God.

This world is already in tribulation, if you look around.

Jesus said we would see him return when the sun turns dark and the moon turns red, which is the 6th seal.

So that is when I believe the rapture will take place.

  17. maps of each section of usa

  18. Marianne, that is the way I have felt that those that have suffered a lot&had the kingdom shut-up to them will suffer less than those who were always in a good Christian environment with a lot of protections/opprotunities/friends/family/prosperity/health/popularity/sound-doctrine ect! I believe many of those who are “high-up” are marked by this nwo/globalist/agenda 21 folk for martyrdom! However it could be that many “clay-pots” will survive in areas that are going to be places of refuge, just like Isreal had cities of refuge back in ancient times! Also Jesus in the parable of the wheat&tares&sower talks about the angels being the reapers in the end-times, but most don’t talk about this aspect of the end-times! A friend of mine said that the Full Gospel Business Association has a sealed map of the US,and at the right time it will be opened&released the information to Christians the”‘safe areas”! However 2 men are said to have died trying to open the sealed document given to Demos Shakarian many years ago!

    • ronnie

I do not know why they would seal up the map and make it unavailable to others. It takes time and money to move, and planning. keeping the information a secret is just that.

it will only be a available for a few people at the last minute, so I do not believe this map is an honest thing. When the power goes out, and there is no communication, only a few will benefit.

If one needs to move, or stay, they need to figure it out now.

  19. Marianne the angels are the reapers of the wheat&tares in these last days! Just like the angels getting Lot out of Sodom&Gohmorrah, there are going to be similar situations! They will be like the camps of the Isrealites in the wilderness, with God feeding&protecting them, the fish&loaves multiplying(the canned/bottled/jarred/dried/boxed/packaged/m.r.e’s&anything fresh in seson plus manna&other food brought supernaturally! Also water say flowing out of some rock being struck like Moses was commanded to do! However this will happen in areas that will experience a massive turning to God! (God will have mercy on those areas)! However there will be areas that a handful, even only one, or nobody will be rescued&some type of judgement or judgements will fall on them! Also folk driving/flying/ bicycleing/even walking to these safe areas on their own! However there might be some murmering like the ancient Hebrews did in the wilderness&challenges to whosoever are the authority like Core did against Moses! Nothing new under the sun! However Marianne I really see the great majority of Christians world-wide as well as 2/3 of the Jews around the world&Isreal being killed! Yeah Marianne I have never looked at this map situation like the way you put it but thanks a million!
