No Fire, No Sacrifice

A sacrifice, without the fire, is not acceptable.

–

The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.    Lev 6:13

Fire makes the sacrifice holy

And the remnant of the meat offering shall be Aaron’s and his sons’: it is a thing most holy of the offerings of the LORD made by fire.    Lev 2:3

It shall not be baked with leaven. I have given it unto them for their portion of my offerings made by fire; it is most holy, as is the sin offering, and as the trespass offering.   Lev  6:17

All the males among the children of Aaron shall eat of it. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations concerning the offerings of the LORD made by fire: every one that touches them shall be holy.   Lev 6:18

What does fire represent?

Punishment / annihilation

Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven    Gen 19:24

Revelation

And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.   Exodus 3:2

Judgment

So there was hail, and fire mingled with the hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.      Exodus 9:24

But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.     Luke 17:29

Presence of God

And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:      Exodus 13:21

And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke:     Acts 2:19

Consumption

If fire break out, and catch in thorns, so that the stacks of corn, or the standing corn, or the field, be consumed therewith; he that kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.    Exodus 22:6

Cooking- proper preparation of food for safety, and produce a good flavor, aroma

And the other lamb thou shalt offer at even, and shalt do thereto according to the meat offering of the morning, and according to the drink offering thereof, for a sweet savour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.    Exodus 29:41

Presence of angels

Who makes his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire psalms 104:4

Destroys enemies

A fire goes before him, and burns up his enemies round about.   Psalm 97:3

Holiness

His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire        Rev 1:14

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.     Rev 19:12

Holy Spirit

And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

All the kinds of fire indicate passion and intensity.

The key to an acceptable sacrifice is the passion motivating it

Prayers are a daily sacrifice.

Our deeds can also be a daily sacrifice.

They should be done with fervor.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that you may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16

They should be done with meaning. It is the quality and sincerity of the prayer or deed, to be added to the content.

If done without thought, passion or meaning, it becomes vain.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.    Matthew 6:7

But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.    Jeremiah 20:9

Point

If the deed or prayer is boring to you, YHVH God will also find it boring.

If it is something you have memorized, and do not think about what you are saying, then why say it?

YHVH God won’t think about it either.

Do not waste your time, or YHVH God’s time.

–

This could be one reason for unanswered prayer.

–

We need to pray from our hearts, with passion, and care about what we say.

We need to focus on the Lord, not ourselves.

Once we learn to forget ourselves, and get lost in Him, and feel the fire of His passion, and our own passion in response, we will see miracle after miracle in our lives.

And we will experience deep satisfaction in prayer and deeds.
