Noise of the Fear

Isaiah 24 describes the coming judgment on earth – the noise, the fear, the pit, and the punishment of the exalted ones.

The description compliments the one from Revelation, and gives some extra insights.

Curse declared on earth

Isa 24:1 ¶ Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns it upside down, and scatters abroad the inhabitants thereof.

Isa 24:6   Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

Joy stops

Isa 24:8   The mirth of tabrets cease, the noise of them that rejoice ends, the joy of the harp ceases.

People shut their homes –“lock down”

Isa 24:10   The city of confusion is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in.

The treacherous take over

Isa 24:16   ……the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.

The Noise of the Fear, the Pit, and the Snare

Isa 24:18   And it shall come to pass, [that] he who flees from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

So what is the “noise of the fear?”

Strangely enough, this passage was in the next Chapter of Isaiah

Are people fleeing from aliens, strangers who bring terror? This sounds like what we are dealing with now.

Isa 25:5   Thou shall bring down the noise of aliens, as the heat in a dry place; [even] the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low.

Why are they coming in and out of pits?

Both the heaven and earth are being torn apart.

They run into the pit out of fear, but have to escape back out, as the earth’s foundations are torn apart.

There might actually be something fearful and dangerous IN the pits, where they think they will find safety.

Rev 6:14   And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Rev 6:15   And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

Earth Shakes, is broken, Reels to and Fro

Isa 24:19   The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.

Isa 24:20   The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

Punishment of the “host of exalted ones”

Notice the exalted ones are on high, and the kings of the earth are on the earth. They are 2 different groups.

Only demonic forces can exist “on high” but are brought down.

Isaiah was aware of demons in high places.

This may also shed some light on who the “aliens” were who caused terror and the “noise of the fear.”

Imagine a host of treacherous demons descending from the sky, to openly invade, terrify, and enslave mankind.

Isa 24:21 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the LORD shall punish (1) the host of the high ones [that are] on high, and (2) the kings of the earth upon the earth.

Isa 24:22   And they shall be gathered together, [as] prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

Sign of the Sun and Moon

This is the same sign that Jesus indicated would end the Tribulation in Matthew 24. It is mentioned again in Rev 6.

Isa 24:23   Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

Mat 24:29 ¶ Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

Rev 6:12 ¶ And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Thoughts

My impression is a lot of this happens all at the same time, at the end of the 6^th seal.

The order of the verses is not consecutive.

–

Revelation describes the escape to the pits and caves as occurring after the tribulation, and at the moment when the wrath of God begins.

Here it seems it occurs before the sun and moon are darkened.

–

Much will happen quickly.

Once the wrath begins, man will have no more chances to repent. It is over.

–

My impression is that the “noise of the fear” is the noise of the terrifying aliens or strangers – the exalted ones on high – that come to earth to terrify mankind and enslave it.

–

 

The time for salvation is now.

Repent of your sins, trust Jesus, and be saved.
