As America works to part the land of Israel for gain, so will the land of America be torn in half.

God has promised to bless those that bless Israel, and curse those that curse Israel.

America has cursed itself by repeatedly forcing Israel to give up land for peace, when there is no peace from its enemies.

- Something to consider with your date of 33 AD. In every historical volume I have read, King Herod died in 4 BC, so if he was in charge when Jesus was born, Jesus would have had to have been born in the same year or earlier. This would put the crucifixion at 31 AD, and it’s been determined that Passover was on a Wednesday that year which is necessary in order to fulfill the prophecy that Jesus would be in the tomb for 3 days and 3 nights to arise on a Sunday. 33AD won’t work as Passover was on a Saturday.
  Also the 70 week prophecy of Daniel pegs the anointing of the messiah (by John the baptist) at 27 AD on His birthday, the Feast of Trumpets – in the fall. Add 3-1/2 years of His ministry and you come to the spring of 31 AD. Right on!
  Just something to consider.

There are examples from history. Britain did well for Israel in 1917 – 1921 and legal basis was layed for establishment of Israel. These Treaties are still in force but nobody in the world wants to give Israel what legally belongs to her. Two lawyers Howard Grief and Jacques Gauthier have examined international law 20 years each and both claim that the land west of the river belongs to Israel. This creates another problem. As Netanyahu says Israel does not want to govern Arabs but rather wants to give the land away and establish an Arab country inside Israel and Israel has been for years working to that direction.
In 1921 Britain’s attitude changed. Winston Churchill decided that whole Palestine cannot be given to Jews and gave 76% of Jewish homeland to Saudi Prince against cler instructions of the League of Nations. Also Britain gave Golan Heights to French Mandate which further ended up to Syria. Regularly written White papers made Jewish immigration illegal but Arabs were allowed free immigration. Without British operations Israel could have been established already in the 30’s legally. The worst part of England was in the voting UN partition plan 1947, No vote in any direction thus showing that UK does not want Israel in the ME. Like Zech 12:3 says British Commonwealth was no more in 1948, cut into pieces. Another matter here is that partition plan was illegal as well as UNSC 242 was illegal. UN Charter confirms the Treaties made in th 1920′. Besides Based on Anglo-American Agreement in 1924 the President of US breaks American law when he tries to limit Jewish building in Judea Samaria. Besides Clinton and Bush made the Constitution worth nothing. Any time the President of US can declare to be the Dictator of the US.
Carter started the presidental game of dividing the land and declaring Jewish settlements in Jewish homeland illegal.
For England it lasted 27 years of dividing Israel before her Empire was cut down.
Peace with Arabs is not possible. The whole world is interested in the area each country for different reasons and to be succesful in their attempts they have to be friends with Arabs. Todays situation is already such that the whole world is against Israel. Wars are coming to solve the problems and HaShem takes care that Israel prevails. But Israel will suffer also because they fight against HaShem’s clear word ” You shall possess the land” All the necessary laws are in place but Israel regards US as their god and does not want to possess her land.

As for betrayal of Israel that is Muslims ultimate plan.. Kill all of Israel so Ishmael can be declared the holy seed through which messiah Mohammad came…..That act would legitimize Mohammad..
As for America betraying Israel what can you expect from a Muslim president???

  Early Jews who declared Jesus were never converted to Christianity. Paul himself says that he has followed Torah as well as he can. In the acts there is a meeting headed by Jakob dealing with Torah teaching and the decision was that they cannot request gentiles to follow the law which Jews could not fulfill. These Jews were transformed to a new covenant described in Jeremiah 31:31- with the baptism by Holy Spirit, and that could not happen without confessing Jesus as their Saviour. Today Messianic Jews have clearly noticed that traditional Jewish teaching is pretty much man made.
  The same problem with us Christians. We cannot even follow ten commandments without help from Holy Spirit, Besides Christ’s law is much more difficult to follow because it requires more control of our thoughts than ten commandments.

I think sometimes people forget the word ISRAEL is the name God gave to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob no matter where they live….Those descendants that graduated to the messiah are still ISRAEL.. When the Bible speaks of Israel does it mean the people Israel or the land Israel????/or both depending on the text.

Once when I was little she was listening to the radio while washing dishes. I have no clue what she heard (must be same ol,same ol that we listen to daily from the ME) but it had to do with Israel. She got all upset and wound up, and she said this out loud: “ISRAEL IS THE ARMY OF GOD!”

That stunned me and stayed with me till this day and I am almost 40. Firstly, because that’s the first time ever that Israel was mentioned in my house (not at church). Second, it was a strong, immediate reaction to the Middle East conflict; in the 70s only those who cared to, were the ones that listened-and we don’t have today’s technology.

I dunno much, but some Jews support Bibi; some don’t because he is cutting some deals when it comes to land. This “land” issue is driving me nuts! When it gets to be too much, I just wish that God would finish this mess, point out to us down below and zap ’em out of the planet!

- America is behind the “land for peace’ deals. It has been forcing Israel to make concessions since the days of Jimmy Carter. This was never Israel’s idea. If Israel does not obey America, it will lose its political, military, and financial support. So essentially, we have been blackmailing Israel. America wants to please the Arabs, and is willing to sacrifice Israeli lives and land for Arab oil.

May God be with us all. The word says the Lioness gave birth to two whelps. Let us pray The Lioness is Israel and her two whelps are Great Britain and the USA.

Because we are her children we have hope, it is our only hope. I believe if all the believers will stand together in prayer and mount the wall for these 3 nations we will survive but we will be hit.

The rest of this email is a dream I just had in the past days; I shared it with Marianne before anyone else.

I have been a dreamer since a very young girl. I believe receiving dreams and visions is a Gift from the Lord.

This is a dream I would rather not tell; but today I feel lead by God to tell share it with every Americans that will hear it.

My hope is in God who gave the dream, in his love that he gives to us daily. I pray that everyone who reads will share with his neighbor, his church, his family and anyone who draws breath within our gates.

I pray also that all who read will mount the wall for these 3 nations. The Lord laid it upon my heart to stand on the wall and to start praying for the nation of Israel first, and then he added the USA, and finally England. The more prayer the more power to avoid maybe the worse of what is coming.

I believe he wants his children who are backslidden to come home. He wants the unsaved to submit and be saved. He wants the saved to stand on the walls and in the gap for those who aren’t ready.

I don’t share all of my dreams, some dreams are personal, some are corporate meaning they are for God fearing only, and then there is one like this with national issues.

Dream: January 14th 2011
Here is the dream:
I was taken out and flew in the air, I guess by the hand of God. I didn’t hear speaking by voice, I only saw visually.

Two nations appeared to be burning; two nations in close proximity appear to be standing. I felt from the dream that I was in the Middle East.

The two nations were to the right of the USA looking outward. They were smaller than our nation. Our nation of the five I saw was the largest. There was some form of land and water between all but the two that were burning. They appeared only to have land between them. Behind those that were burning and before us looking outward was a large body of water.
After seeing the four nations that were a distance far away from the USA. I was brought back to the USA. I was placed in a building. This building was a building where the records of our nation are kept. I don’t know if that means the hall of records in the library of Congress. I can’t say.
I believe the building I was in represented the national capital of USA. The room I looked out of only contained records and files, and file cabinets.

I was securely in the building looking out through a large window. I saw the figure of Joe Biden descending from above. I say he was in a free fall state of tumbling.

He was dressed only in blue suit pants, white shirt and a blue skinny tie. When he reached the same level in the air as the window I looked out from. I saw his face coming toward me when I also saw energy waves coming straight across the sky.
When his face was level to see him clearly, I saw his skin evaporating or liquefying. It was as if his ears, neck, and his eyes were melting away. I told Marianne I remembered reading a verse in the Bible that made me think of the way he looked. The scripture she found is Zechariah 14:12, “the eyes will dissolve in their sockets, and their tongues will dissolve in their mouths.”
As that was occurring my eyes were simultaneously turned to the right and I saw Hillary Clinton suspended in air on a white latter.

She was standing on this white latter and a fireman in a black fireman’s raincoat was standing behind her. His raincoat was covered in ashes. They were suspended in the clouds. His uniform was the hat of a fireman and the raincoat. He had two hands on the latter. He was holding her on it. He was standing a rung below her but had his hands on the latter holding on. She was wearing a winter coat, one time I looked and the coat appeared to be purple then when I looked back, it seemed to appear red. She and the fireman began to fall from the latter? They were more I would say as cast down, the waves appeared to push them down as it threw Joe Biden to the ground also, but he hit first.

As they were being hurled down and the waves were coming across, I heard an explosion and I felt the earth shake violently. I was some how put down upon my knees, I don’t know if it was because of the violent shaking?

The next thing I knew I was in that building of records, in the same room and I was on my knees praying. It was very odd as the word of God appeared in large letters all over the floor and I saw myself crawling on the floor reading the word of God.

Let it please God that we would all pray about the dream and look to the one who gives wisdom liberally. If you after reading this believe this is a word from our Father please share it and continue to pray for Israel, Great Britain and our Nation.

I would like to add even though I have never seen you, I love you as Brothers and Sisters in God. I pray that you will all
continue to pray for Marianne. Her ministry on this site blesses many and reaches those God would have it reach. I also know that her healing is forth coming and that she suffers much pain with arthritis as my beloved Momma did.

We’re always speaking about Judgement on everyone else, but what about Israel? This is the third resource I’ve heard similar things being said. They are all Pro-Israel. This is about them “Israel” and Us (The United States, The Church)

First, Israel has been struggling with a historical drought that many have called the worst in history, and now that drought has turned into a fire that is also being called the worst in history. Is Israel under judgment? We know we need to watch Israel carefully because it’s the window to prophecy. What happens with Israel is always prophetic and the circumstances surrounding it are signs for us to watch helping us with revealing end time events.

As you read through the Bible, droughts were always indications of a spiritual dryness or emptiness that displeases God; and with those droughts came calls to return back to God. Looking through the Bible, we can see this as an established pattern.

Deuteronomy 28:23, 24 lists droughts as one of the curses for failing to obey and follow the voice, commandments, and statues of God.

In Haggai 1:1-11, God calls for a drought because the Jews failed to focus on the Lord and build His house, and instead, they focused on their own houses and their own lives first.

The Prophet Elijah declared a 3 ½ year drought (James 5:17) because of the wickedness of Israel’s King Ahab and his refusal to obey the commands of God and for worshipping the images of Baal (1 Kings 18:18).

Amos 4:6-7 announces a famine and drought for Israel’s failure to be corrected. Even the gradual judgments God sent failed to turn them back to Him with obedience.

Psalm 32:1-5 indicates that drought is the result of disobedience and sin.

The natural progression from a drought is a fire, and the Bible clearly illustrates that fire relates to refinement or purification; where the deadwood is destroyed and nothing but true and pure remain. Metals were purified by fire (Numbers 31:23). God uses physical illustrations to speak to Israel as He compels them to turn their hearts back to Him. I suspect that following the fire there will come a refreshing rain that further illustrates the purification process and His desire for Israel to be single-minded toward Him (Numbers 31:23).

In reading this, you can’t help but be reminded of 1 Corinthians 3:11-13 which says, “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is.”

We understand that in these last days, what happens to Israel physically; happens to the church spiritually. What this means is, the church is about to enter into a time of purification where the fires will remove the useless and un-praiseworthy wood, hay, and straw so that the pureness of God will remain—the pure things that please Him.

God is readying the church. Paul said it perfectly: “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish (Ephesians 5:27).” This is exciting! The church is going through its final preparation before the rapture.

First the land is laid waste, then the response from Israel should be a mourning not just for the land, but repentance as well where they turn their hearts back to God. Look at this from Joel 1:15-20:

Alas for the day!
For the day of the LORD is at hand;
It shall come as destruction from the Almighty.
Is not the food cut off before our eyes,
Joy and gladness from the house of our God?
The seed shrivels under the clods,
Storehouses are in shambles;
Barns are broken down,
For the grain has withered.
How the animals groan!
The herds of cattle are restless,
Because they have no pasture;
Even the flocks of sheep suffer punishment.
O LORD, to You I cry out;
For fire has devoured the open pastures,
And a flame has burned all the trees of the field.
The beasts of the field also cry out to You,
For the water brooks are dried up,
And fire has devoured the open pastures.

When the fire of purification hits the church, the response will be the same, deep repentance. The pet sins that have plagued the church will find their judgment in the fire of purification. There will be a separation for service to God as never seen before. Leviticus 6:13 says, “A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.” This fire, once started, won’t be stopped.

Keep Israel in your prayers. This fire and the efforts to curtail and eventually stop it are unprecedented in Israel’s history. And the fire that will “flood” the church will be unprecedented as well. Are you ready?

    I don’t know about splitting America, but we may continue to get over the top storms, earthquakes, terrorism, etc… for helping the terrorists surrounding Israel.

        Notice, they are first (according to Paul) to receive honor for well doing, but also first to receive tribulation and anguish for evil doing. How would you like to have those terms? Just wondering. Yah put them in the place they are in as far as how things will come to them. Who are we to have an issue about that? Your discontent over this ends up being discontent with Yah, since it is He who has chosen it to be this way. This evidently refers to their life in this world and not persoanl salvation, so what really is your problem with them?

        bona fide offer of the Kingdom before
        turning to the Gentiles.This is why Jesus
        sent the first group of disciples only
        among the Jews, and why he said he was

        Although Paul called himself the apostle to
        the Gentiles(Romans 11:13), he often went
        to the local synagogue first when coming
        to anew town, out of love for His own
        people.
        This was not meant to become a general
        principle in evangelism,although I’m aware
        that some Messianic groups see it that
        way.
        Romans 1:16, where the phrase “first to the
        Jew” originates is simply stating the order
        in which the gospel was to be presented.
        The Greek scriptures makes it clear there
        are now two Israels. One group is composed
        of literal Israelites “according to the
        flesh (Romans 9:3, 4). The other is
        “spiritual Israel,” composed of Jews and Gentiles who believe in Jesus.Paul writes, “They are not all Israel, which are of
        Israel”(Romans9:6). That is, not all are
        part of God’s spiritual Israel who are of
        the literal nation of Israel. Paul
        continues: “That is, They which are the children of the flesh [physical
        descendants of Abraham], these are not
        the children of God: but the children of
        the promise are counted for the seed”
        (v. 8).
        The children of the flesh are only natural
        descendants of Abraham, but the children of
        the promise are counted as the true seed.
        Today, any person;Jew or Gentile,can become
        part of this spiritual nation of Israel

        there are the Jews who are only natural,

        Please note,(!!), someone who is called a
        Jew because he is a physical descendant of
        Abraham, and yet who lives as a lawbreaker,

        It is revoked. Thus to God, he is a
        Gentile,and a believing Gentile, who
        through faith keeps “the righteousness of
        the law,” his uncircumcision is counted

        Thus to God, he is a Jew.

        contra principle, can have application in

        The only reason I responded to your post was your lashing out at someone who made the statement about praying for Israel. I honestly don’t get that. At that moment, they were referring to National Israel. Why the attitude? They didn’t say to pray for Israel and not the Church. Just wanted to know why, which you didn’t answer. Most realize that ethnic Israel is mostly secular. But that doesn’t change Yah’s plan. He knew it would be that way at this time. His priority, in the last days, is about restoring Israel, the land and the people. It is what the Fall Feasts are all about. You seem to take offence when Israel is mentioned and when they are in need. When we pray for Israel, we are praying for ourselves (who you call the church) also. If you could understand that WE ARE ISRAEL, not by replacing them, but rather becoming united with them. Yah knows the ones of ethnic Israel who are His and those that aren’t. They are the remnant. Just as Yah has a remnant in non ethnic Israel. We are to support Israel and let Yah do the sifting. That is not our place. When you realize this, there is no reason to get jealous or upset about it. That is what replacement theology has brought upon us. A bitterness toward ethnic Israel and by extension, fighting against our brothers and the purposes of Yah. This is what the enemy has used for 2000 years to bring persecution on a homeless people. We need to wake up a little.
        
        Concerning Romans 9:6: Where it speaks of, not all Israel is of Israel, is only saying that not all of ethnic Israel (born only of water) is of ethnic Israel (born of water and spirit). It is just like where is says that not all Jews are Jews. Because you don’t understand the foundation in the books of Moses and the Prophets, you have to change the express meanings of scripture to get away from the Feasts, the Sabbath, and the instructions. Yah made provision for the Gentiles to embrace salvation by becoming a part of the Israel of Yah, even as it states in Galations 6. It will be those who are born of the promised seed, regardless of ethnicity, gender, or station in life. When we are born of that seed, we become a part of the Commonwealth of Israel. What is so bad about that? Be careful what you wish for.
        
        As far as the verses in Romans concerning, to the Jew first, it was all in regard to ethnic Jews and by extension, national Israel. I understand about natural progression of things. I wan not implying anything about salvation. I said such in the post I sent you. It was not meant to imply that Yah prefers Jews above everyone else. The covenants and promises made to Israel, by Yah, through their forefathers, are still in effect and still being fulfilled to this day and into the future, which puts them in a conspicuous and unique place, which does not rest on any other nation or ethnic people. Does that make them better that anyone else? NO. Many ethnic Jews will perish without knowing their Messiah, just the same as there will be many called Christian who will perish without knowing their Messiah. Salvation is about the seed, not ethnicity or names and titles. That is all evident. Maybe these weren’t the best verses to use given the hot button nature of it. You wouldn’t be so offended at these things if you had a clear understanding of who you are and who they are. It is all spelled out in the beginning. You and I, as non ethnic Israel, are every bit as important as the homeborn and every bit a part of the commonwealth of Israel. Let me know if you want to look at it.

Jesus gave two mission tasks to his desciples. The first one is in Matthew 10:5-7 “Go not into the way of Gentiles and into city of Samaritans enter ye not. But go rather to the LOST SHEEP of the HOUSE OF ISRAEL and as ye go, preach, saying The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Everywhere in the Bible is talked together of House of Judah and House of Israel the latter meaning ten tribes of Israel. At that time Jesus knew that these were not in Samaria but they were spread all over the world and mixed up with all nations. Some hint about their whereabouts is given by Moses Deut. 32:8 “When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of children of Israel.” They live in all countries of the world. How many are they? Deut 1:11 “Ye are this day as the stars of heaven. The Lord God of your farthers make you a thousand times so many as ye are and bless you.” 2,5 million left Egypt, how many arrived to Israel, I don’t know. If they were one million the house of Israel is now one billion living everywhere in the world. Maybe majority of them are now Christians. Like the example of Samaritan woman also Gentiles who belived were accepted to become the children of the God.
Church has not substituted the promises of God to Jacob’s sons which will come true after some years. Some part of this true Israel will return to the promised land but The Lord has also promised other land already during David.
All belivers are Abraham’s seed thru faith but all believers are not Israel’s (= Jacob’s) seed. I cannot see in the Bible any hint that Church is Israel. At the end everybody who endures to the end will be one with the Lord in the same spirit which fills our hearts so that nobody needs anymore ask from the neighbour or teacher of the will of the Lord. It is written in everybody’s heart.

Kindly bear in mind who is defined in the Bible as the “true Jew.” It has to do with circumcision of the heart and not a physical state. It is written for all to see. A hint: the books of Romans and Revelation states it rather clearly.

Churches, by nature, divide the “true Jews” and that is why there is a curse on them. 34,000 of them and none is right!

Hm. I’m not presently attending a church, because I haven’t yet ‘been led’ to a healthy one. As I’ve been among Christians the last 31 years, it has become apparent that Christians are generally ‘religious people’– people who think much on the supernatural or spiritual arena; even Christians who are more conservative, like Southern Baptists, are so. I recently received news about a man named Scott who had a supernatural experience. I don’t know where to reply on this site, but I don’t at all perceive that his experience was from God but from a false angel with ‘another gospel’ (just one reason: besides Gabriel on one or two occasions, angels in the Bible never told their names). We as Christians cannot do the things God desires from us when we are flying after spiritual experiences and claims. God made us human and meets us ‘here’. As we truly grow in fellowship with Him, THEN He ‘brings us out’ to experience spiritual things. But that’s another topic. In response to this post…

I feel, again, this is over-‘spiritualized’. Will God really divide America because America is against Israel? I’ll make it short: the Bible doesn’t talk about the principle of sowing and reaping against only Israel but about sowing and reaping in every place and situation. Let me clarify: God judged nations by Israel not to show they were ‘superior’ but because the nations were reaping judgment and Israel, as God’s Instrument, would preside over the execution of it. That’s all to say this: has anyone noticed that America, the greatest country in the world, has the highest level of crime (and most reports of all types of illegal activities from drugs to child prostitution to sexual abuse to satanic ritual abuse)? Why is there so much bloodshed and wrongdoing in this nation? It’s not because we sowed against Israel but because we sowed against people(s): the Native Americans, the Africans, women, etc. This sowing continues, and though God forgives, spiritual laws do not. Hear closely what Gal. 6:7 says: “Do not be deceived, for God cannot be mocked. For whatsoever a man sows, that will he also reap” Believing we can sin and sow wrong but reap good is mocking God (or basically thinking He will ‘wash away’ all repercussions). Therefore, it isn’t our ‘sins against Israel’ that we should be concerned about but our general sins against humans and humanity. Every such sin of self-righteousness (because killing, deceiving, pillaging, forcing our customs on others, and occupying lands not ours are all forms of self-righteousness which God absolutely hates) has returned, will return, and are returning on us even as we speak. What I am saying cannot make sense to Christians whose heads seek spiritual things in the clouds but to those who live in stark reality. Christianity will make a difference when we operate in responsibility and accountability (the practical), not as we gaze into the heavens wondering ‘what dreams may come’ true.

Sorry, I also saw a video on you tube about FEMA with the people of Arkansas. They have experienced over 500 earthquakes in the past months?

They were telling the FEMA people how they are experiencing noise from the army corps of engineers in the woods. It seems they are drilling and doing crazy things and they don’t want the people back there? I don’t get it what is going on?

Did we move to a communist country. I heard the speech of the President this evening and they said he spent over 3 trillion dollars in 2 years. When he went in office we owed 10 trillion for all of the Presidents of our nation combined?

The Bible says pray for those who have charge over you. Let us pray that God give them a mind for him and for the precept and commandments and his ways in their lives.

God is able to move on all things amen, in Jesus Christ name amen and amen.

The first comment placed on an article in Haaretz, Sunday, Dec. 5th, regarding the Mt. Carmel fire came from someone named Mark Lincoln* who remarked:

This fire will be to Israel what the Mann Gulch and South Canyon fires were to the American Forest Service… [the two deadliest forest fires in U.S. history]

His observation would have been of only mild, passing interest had my cursory research not unveiled one very strange thing… which led me to several other very strange things… which led to my buying, reading and marking up several books on these U.S. fires… all of which became intertwined with some of the most eerie-direct and explicit signs I’ve ever gotten, urging me to go ahead and ‘birth’ this post… and soon… reasons still not entirely clear. (I’ll note just one of them, near the end of this.)

Big H/T’s to several dear brothers and sisters in Christ to whom I sent drafts of this post last week and who provided invaluable commentary and guidance on it. Our dear sisters, Cindy-by-the-Sea and Garden Girl deserve special mention, as do Daniel Eggers and someone I’ll just call Andrew. He knows who he is. Several of you provided an inadvertent prophetic word. I thank you for being open and Spirit-led. If I neglected to mention you, please forgive me. This, more than most posts, has been a group effort.

OK, here goes…

Very strange thing number one: The oldest Smokejumper to die in the Mann Gulch Fire (August, 1949) had the same name as the bus driver who perished in the Mt. Carmel fire. Fifty-four total deaths; two David Navons. What are the chances? Both men were Jewish. I will expand on this later-on; there is far more to it than just their names.

Very strange thing number two: The Carmel fire broke out on the first day of Hanukah (festival of lights, commemorating the re-dedication of the temple). The previous largest fire in Israel’s national history occurred in 70AD with the burning of the Temple on… Tish B’Av (commemorating a long sequence of catastrophes which have befallen the Jewish people, many of them involving fire).
The Mann Gulch fire also broke out on… Tish B’Av. The South Canyon fire (a misnomer as it turns out, but nonetheless the SECOND-deadliest forest fire in U.S. history — by one; see update IV at end of post) broke out in earnest on the Fourth of July, when Americans celebrate, with fireworks, our rebellion and independence. The two American fires were caused by lightning, the Mt. Carmel fire by a Druze youth smoking a hookah.

*Mark Lincoln… as in, pay attention to Lincoln? Hmm… On page 188 of his pre-ambassadorial book, “Power, Faith and Fantasy, America in the Middle East, 1776 to the Present,” Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. Michael Oren notes:

“Riding with the First Lady in a carriage on the evening of April 14, 1865, the president [Abraham Lincoln] purportedly spoke of his dream of someday touring Jerusalem. Later, after they reached their destination, Ford’s Theater, and took their seats in the box, Lincoln again leaned toward his wife and whispered, ‘How I should like to visit Jerusalem!’“

Just a few hours later, in one sense, he did. One of the Southern sympathizer/spies implicated in his assassination, Harrison Surrat, Jr. later escaped… to Egypt.

The Mann Gulch Fire, August 5, 1949

I was not familiar with the Mann Gulch fire. Sparked by lightning the previous day, Mann Gulch fire consumed almost 3,000 acres in 10 minutes during its ‘blow-up’ stage, eventually covering 5,000 acres. It was the 13th fire of a hot, busy 1949 fire season, taking the lives of 13 firefighters in west-central Montana (pdf report here). (The number thirteen, in scripture, is universally associated with rebellion.)

[Side note: the all-time worst U.S. forest fire season ever was… 1910.]

The name ‘Mann’ signifies man. The Mann Gulch fire subsided on the 6th, the day after the fatalities and was finally quenched on the 9th. Precisely four years prior, the U.S. had dropped atomic weapons over Japan, incinerating tens of thousands in an instant (‘Little Boy’ on the 6th, over Hiroshima, ‘Fat Man‘ on the 9th, over Nagasaki.) All of the men who died at Mann Gulch were 25 years old or younger. Almost… little boys. ‘Young Men and Fire’ is widely acknowledged as the authoritative book on the incident.

A ‘gulch’ is, “a deep, narrow ravine, especially one marking the course of a stream or torrent.” Torrents in scripture are almost universally catastrophic. “Mann Gulch” (which was dry, at least that year) may thus present us with an allegory of man’s vain attempts to work his way ‘uphill’ to the Source of Living Water under his own power. (In the American West, many rivers, streams and torrents are also dammed – two ‘m’s, no ‘n’.)

Richard Holbrooke, formerly our 22nd Ambassador to the UN, and acclaimed ‘broker’ of the 1995 ‘Dayton Accords’ on Bosnia, died of a literal broken heart (torn aortic artery) last Monday, the tenth anniversary of Al Gore’s concession. Holbrooke’s last name means… “a stream in a deep ravine.” One of the chapters in his book about the Dayton Accords is entitled “Wrestling With the Devil”. One might say that, in the course of those efforts, plus his admirable if extremely difficult final role in Afghanistan and Pakistan, he was playing with fire.

The torrent image evokes Jeremiah 47 with special power in this context.

“Thus says the LORD: Behold, waters are rising out of the north, and shall become an overflowing torrent; they shall overflow the land and all that fills it, the city and those who dwell in it. Men shall cry out, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail.

Part of the Helena National Forest, in the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness, Mann Gulch drains from the northeast to the southwest, into the Missouri River, relatively close to its headwaters. The Mann Gulch fire tragedy took place within sight of the Missouri River, scarcely half a mile from its banks. Other than parachute, the Missouri was the only means of access. (Roads have pushed closer since.)

The name ‘Helena’ is derivative of the Greek:

‘Ελενη (Helene), probably from Greek ‘ελενη (helene) “torch” or “corposant” [St. Elmo’s Fire], or possibly related to σεληνη (selene) “moon”… The name was borne by the 4th-century Saint Helena, mother of the Roman emperor Constantine, who supposedly found the True Cross during a trip to Jerusalem.

The Gates of the Mountains Wilderness sits at the juncture between the Rockies (to the west) and the Plains (to the east). I assume most can infer plenty of Biblical meaning in the name. The gate is Christ. The ultimate mountain (Zion) is Christ. We all must endure, in some fashion (and they differ) a wilderness experience — as he did.

As many may know, the Missouri River… the “Mighty Missouri” is central to the U.S. both physically and in terms of the country’s formation and image of itself. It was the main thoroughfare which Merriweather Lewis et al used to expand the scope and vision of the nascent United States, from St. Louis up into what had seemed an impenetrable wilderness, over to the Pacific Northwest in the very first years of the 19th century.

In a manner analogous to what transpired in the late Richard Holbrooke’s chest this past week, the Mann Gulch fire exploded right next to this vital artery.

The deadly South Canyon Fire of July, 1994 (which actually took place on the flanks of nearby Storm King Mountain) flared up in view of, in fact overlooking a pair of similar vital transport arteries down in Colorado: Interstate 70 and the Colorado River, the fire-scape (steep, south-facing canyons) bearing more than a passing resemblance to the Mann Gulch topography.

One could easily make the case (and many have) that the Colorado River has been as vital to the growth of the U.S. southwest (including cities such as Las Vegas and Los Angeles) as the Mighty Missouri was to U.S. expansion westward in the 1800′s. My point is simply that these were not remote fires but ones intimately linked, as Israel’s Mount Carmel fire was, to the history and growth of the nation.

Then the LORD will appear over his people. His arrows will flash like lightning. The LORD and King will blow the trumpet of his thunder. He’ll march out like a storm in the south. (Zechariah 9:14)

A great deal has been written about the Mann Gulch Fire, in great detail, on various official and unofficial web sites. The passage of time does not diminish the gripping tale of what happened there. A watershed (if often wandering, semi-literary) 1992 book, ‘Young Men and Fire’, by the late Norman Maclean (better known as the author of ‘A River Runs Through It’, later an acclaimed film) was published posthumously. Maclean, the son of a Presbyterian minister, labored over the book for many years. His research helped set the record straight on how the fire spread and why so many died.

Short take: it erupted explosively, taking everyone by surprise.

Mann Gulch was by far the most lethal fire in the then ten-year history of the U.S. Forest Service’s Smoke-jumping corps and, as the Haaretz commenter alludes, it made a long-lasting impact on that agency, the nation, and on firefighting practices in general. The following video and song commemorate that tragic event. I found it moving.

Some readers may have noticed that the first victim to appear in the video is a young smoke-jumper named David Navon. Twenty-eight at the time, he was the oldest among those who succumbed – by nearly three years.

Just four of the seventeen men who came in contact with the fire survived it. (Two others lived just a few hours, then succumbed to massive burns.) Three of them went to the fire together. One (Ranger Robert Jansson) came at it via a different route.

“But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.” (Daniel 3:25)

In a brief moment of calm air at 5:55PM (the number five signifies grace in scripture) as fire-stoked winds converged and canceled each other out, jump Foreman, C. Wagner Dodge, struck a single cardboard match to ignite a ring of fire in the dry grass around him. Dodge said later that the idea had come to him spontaneously, as inspiration.

(The song, ‘Ring of Fire’, made popular by Johnny Cash, was not written until 13 years later. Though it would be a perfect soundtrack for the event, its inspiration appears to have had absolutely nothing to do with the Mann Gulch fire.)

Lying down flat on his face in the ashes, Dodge prayed. Lifted off the ground by the wind of the fire at one point as the massive conflagration surged over and past him, he was preserved through the fire.

Witnesses who encountered him shortly afterward marveled that his clothes were not singed, nor were they even wrinkled or dirty. I am again reminded most powerfully of Daniel and his compatriots in the furnace in Babylon:

…the fire had not had any power over the bodies of those men. The hair of their heads was not singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and no smell of fire had come upon them. (Daniel 3:27b)

In the NLT, the word ‘dodge’ shows up just twice, in Isaiah 28:15&18 regarding ‘dodging’ death. Here are verses 14-20:

…listen to this message from the LORD, you scoffing rulers in Jerusalem. You boast that you have struck a bargain to avoid death and have made a deal to dodge the grave. You say, “The Assyrians can never touch us, for we have built a strong refuge made of lies and deception.” Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem. It is firm, a tested and precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never run away again. I will take the measuring line of justice and the plumb line of righteousness to check the foundation wall you have built.

Your refuge looks strong, but since it is made of lies, a hailstorm will knock it down. Since it is made of deception, the enemy will come like a flood to sweep it away. I will cancel the bargain you made to avoid death, and I will overturn your deal to dodge the grave. When the terrible enemy floods in, you will be trampled into the ground. Again and again that flood will come, morning after morning, day and night, until you are carried away.”This message will bring terror to your people. For you have no place of refuge…

The next floods to come upon the earth, we are told in scripture, will not be of water but of fire. Though Dodge called to his crew loudly to stay by him within the ring of fire, they either could not hear or did not believe that his radical, counter-intuitive move would work. Instead, they bolted in instinctual fear, running up a 40-degree slope of slippery grass and loose rock in an attempt to escape the wall of flame half a mile wide and hundreds of feet high that by that point was advancing on them at over 15 miles an hour.

The other two who survived (the late Walter Rumsey and the only still-surviving participant-witness, Robert Sallee) spotted a cleft in the rock through the smoke near the top of the ridge. See Exodus 33:22, Judges 15:8, and Psalm 18:2.

The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge…

The name ‘Sallee’ means “one who sold salt”. Interesting. Very interesting.

Sprinting to it just ahead of the flames, the two wriggled through a tight place in the rock to the other side of the ridge where they found another set of rocks on which to take refuge as the fire surged over and around them. Though surrounded by massive flames, just like Dodge, they also remained unharmed, enabling them to nurse and pray with one of the horrifically burned and dying victims, William Hellman. (There is much, much more of allegorical significance to the story which I don’t have time to relate, e.g., Hellman’s last desperate request: for a drink of water.)

The fourth man to survive was not part of the main Smokejumper crew. Ranger Robert Jansson, coming at it from a different direction, is described as follows on page 86 of Norm Maclean’s ‘Young Men and Fire’:

Jansson was probably the first to walk through a blowup propelled by a fire whirl, to drop unconscious in its vortex, to revive only a few feet from its flame, and to live to record it. Afterwards, he would keep returning to Mann Gulch with tape and stopwatch to check his original recordings of distances and times, and once he returned with objective observers to check him. He struggled to determine whether what had happened really had and really had measurable boundaries on earth.

He too emerged unscathed. The longer description of the fire which engulfed him leaves one searching, as he did, for any earthly explanation. He should have died.

David Navon

Navon was the only Jew in the group of Smokejumpers at Mann Gulch that Friday, August 5th, 1949 — the day after Tish B’Av. The fire was sparked by lightning on Tish B’Av… twelve years to the day before president BHO was born.

Navon died just hours before sunset and the start of Shabbat Nachamu, the Sabbath of Consolation — the first Shabbat to fall after Tish B’Av which commemorates the destruction of the temple (…aka, tent/body of Christ, according to Him).

Navon had served with the U.S. 82nd Airborne in Europe in World War II, dropping into Nijmegan, Holland as part of Operation Market Garden in the fall of 1944 where he was wounded. (Fighting action there is commemorated in the 1977 film, ‘A Bridge Too Far’.) After recovering in England, Navon was attached to the 101st Airborne Division, becoming part of the Army of Occupation in Berlin immediately after war’s end.

In short, David Navon fought Hitler head-on, getting an up-close and personal view of what he and the Nazis had wrought in flames in Europe, only to die in one of the most potent and lethal forest fires ever on U.S. soil.

Navon’s last name derives from the Hebrew — נבון, Strong’s H995, meaning to discern, understand or consider, e.g., wise, discerning, intelligent, discreet — all of which suggest to me what we ought to do with this post, and his memory, as well as that of the other David Navon who died at Mt. Carmel… whom I’ll get to in just a moment.

First use of the Hebrew word comes in Genesis 41:33, followed by v39. Joseph is interpreting Pharaoh’s dream, then Pharaoh responds –

33 Now therefore let Pharaoh select a discerning and wise [נבון] MAN, and set him over the land of Egypt… 38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find a MAN like this, in whom is the Spirit of God?” 39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has shown you all this, there is none so discerning and wise [נבון] as you are. 40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall order themselves as you command. Only as regards the throne will I be greater than you.”

Joseph was a Jew, well-assimilated and serving in an official capacity in an Egyptian context. David Navon — the robust military outdoorsman of the American West, who ran away to sea at age eighteen — was of this type also. (Those saying ‘hunh?’ when I equate America to Egypt can catch up here. That he was thoroughly assimilated into secular U.S. culture is attested to by the fact that U.S. author Norman Maclean, who obsessively researched the fire for decades did not identify his religion.

Taking the key Hebrew word from which Navon’s name derives, the above passage might be read loosely as, select Navon man… can we find a man like this… Navon? It’s a bit of a stretch, but you get the idea. (David the Biblical figure, was also amply acquainted with fire; see1st Chronicles 14:12 & 21:26, as well as 1st Samuel 30:

When David and his men came to the city, behold, it was burned with fire, and their wives and their sons and their daughters had been taken captive. Then David and the people who were with him lifted their voices and wept until there was no strength in them to weep.

Despite long-standing military protocol, Navon’s grave was marked with a cross for more than five decades. Finally, on May 10, 2001, a monument displaying the Star of David was erected to replace it on the steep ridge where he fell (see below). In his book, Norman Maclean refers to Navon as one of the “four horsemen” denoting the four individuals who ran the farthest uphill through the flames (but still died).

The Other David Navon

Why do I mention all this?

David Navon is ALSO the name of the bus driver who got stuck and perished in the fire on Mt. Carmel on December 2nd, 2010, along with thirty-nine others of the fifty on board. That Navon was 48. Just yesterday (December 15th), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu named just three individuals, including Navon, providing official state recognition of their families as “bereaved.”

This would not be the first time that seemingly obscure events in the U.S. (especially the heartland) have linked-up in eerie-specific ways to events in Israel. Last January, for example, I wrote about another long-ago event in Montana in which one Truman Everts got lost in Yellowstone (before it became a park) and nearly died of exposure and starvation before being rescued 37 days later, in the fall of 1870. More recently, a variety of Biblical ‘date waves’ have also been observed linking our nations.

Bus-driver David Navon was described in one article as the “designated driver”, in much the same way as the other Navon was oldest among those who died (only surviving crew foreman Dodge was older).

The recently deceased Navon hailed from a small city just south of Tel Aviv called Nes Tsiyona, or Ness Ziona. The city was named in reference to Jeremiah 4:6, meaning flag toward Zion. The context of the whole chapter of Jeremiah 4 gives me shivers in light of current events in Israel. Here are verses 5-7:

Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say, “Blow the trumpet in the land; cry aloud and say, ‘Assemble yourselves, and let us go Into the fortified cities.’ Lift up a standard toward Zion! Seek refuge, do not stand still, for I am bringing evil from the north, and great destruction. A lion has gone up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations has set out; he has gone out from his place to make your land a waste. Your cities will be ruins without inhabitant.

Gnarled and sooty trees rested on the ground. A bronze lion roared at the entrance to a house that was totally consumed. [Bronze is symbolic of sin; see, e.g., Numbers 21:9.] Fire was still burning in what looked like was a bookshelf. [Fire for the Word?] Several large stones from the house had been thrust out by the heat. [Stones are symbolic of the building-blocks of a living temple; some will be ‘thrust out’ in the coming heat.] On a nearby village bus stop, a notice read: “Next Hanukkah, we won’t just light candles…”

What might they do beyond just lighting candles? Might their eyes finally be opened in the wake of another, much larger fire? Might they celebrate by lighting candles in dedication of a new temple of the body of Christ? Fascinating.

The standard of Nes Zion, the hometown of bus-driver David Navon today bears seven stars, an interesting number in light of Revelation 1:16, 1:20, 2:1 and 3:1. The city acquired that name because of an event which transpired in 1891* (more here)

When in 1891 a ban on the entry of Jews to the Holy Land was declared [by the Ottomans, one man, Michael Halperin] demonstrated against the edict by riding the streets of Jaffa on an Arab holiday carrying the Zionist flag and accompanied by a troop of horsemen loudly singing the hymn of the First Aliya ‘Carry the banner to Zion, the banner of the camp of Judah’. When the group reached the hill on which Nes Ziyyona stood, he drew his sword and cried out “I dedicate this sword to the Lord” and cut his right hand, drawing blood, to signify that only through the sword and bloodshed could Eretz Israel be redeemed.
[So close to the truth and yet so far! Only through the shed blood of the Messiah. Only through the sharp, two-sword of the Word of His mouth.]

*1891 was 119 years ago. The gap between the anniversary of the Mann Gulch Fire and the 2010 Mount Carmel Fire was… 119 days. Curious.

The Mt. Carmel bus was stopped by a downed tree and wall of flame. Navon attempted to turn it around. Just like the other David Navon who had died 61 years earlier, he ran out of time and space as the fire encroached. This all took place, according to reports, between Damon junction and Atlit junction.

Damon, as discussed in a previous post, is a name which stems from a Greek myth about subsitutionary atonement for capital crimes.

Atlit is roughly contiguous with the Biblical site of Tyre (see Ezekiel 28 for why that is significant). It was used as a jumping-off-place for the Crusades. The modern village was founded in 1903 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild (i.e., an Edomite: “red shield”; one who says he is a Jew and is not: Rev 3:9)

More notoriously, Atlit was the site of a British detainee camp set up to intercept and hold Jews fleeing Nazi persecution in the 1930s. Atlit camp was run much like those in Europe from which those same Jews had just fled for their lives. Shameful. Reading the accounts almost made me sick (see also here).

In other words, the Mt. Carmel bus was caught between Damon (substitutionary atonement, at the top of the mountain) and Atlit (a virtual hell throughout Biblical and modern history — a city standing next to the sea, the symbol of chaos and unbelief). Like his namesake who perished 61 years earlier, he and his fellow travelers were trapped between the top of the ridge (which would have meant safety) and the fires coming up from below.

And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. (1st Kings 18:21)

…choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Joshua 24:15)

Speaking of Prisons…

As noted in the first segment in this series on the Mount Carmel fires, most were killed on their way to rescue prisoners. Thus it is interesting that just three days after the fires were put out, a fire twice as deadly broke out in a Chilean prison in Santiago, killing either 81 or 83, depending on which report one believes versus 41 in Israel. (CNN video here.) The country’s president called the prisons, which are grossly overcrowded, “shameful and inhumane”.

Back in February and March, many of us tried to make sense of a massive earthquake in that same country that killed over 1,000. One of the sharpest observations on that subject related to the high Palestinian population in the region of the quake (more than any place outside the Middle East) and the timing of so-called ‘peace’ talks.

I find it interesting (but not surprising) therefore that along with headlines about Argentina and Brazil unilaterally recognizing a Palestinian state, several other South American countries have done so as well, albeit less vociferously or officially. As the JPost reported on December 7th, Pearl Harbor Day, just hours before the Chile prison fire:

“PA praises S. Americans’ recognition of Palestinian state: Official tells ‘Post’ that several other countries, including Chile, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay and Paraguay willing to recognize [Palestinian] state on 1967 borders.”

Another Navon of Note

Yitzhak Navon (no close relation as far as I can tell) was the fifth president of Israel and the first to be born in Jerusalem. (His late wife was also the first Israeli first-lady to have been born there.) He was by far the youngest Israeli president up to that point and used the office (which had been largely ceremonial) in a more outspoken manner than any of his predecessors. He was born within months of David R. Navon, the smoke-jumper — April 9th, 1921 for Yitzhak (the first day of the first month of the Hebrew year, i.e., 1 Nisan) vs. some time in the fall of 1920 for David R.

Yitzhak Navon can trace his ancestry back 300+ years in Jerusalem and also to Spain, where ancestors on his father’s side were expelled in 1492 along with Christopher Columbus (who many think may have been a secret Jew, as may have some of his crew members. Columbus cites Isaiah 49 as the explicit inspiration for his New World journeys.) When were Columbus and the Navon ancestors forced to leave Spain? August 3rd, 1492. August 2nd that year was… Tish B’Av.

South Canyon Fire, July 2-7, 1994

On pages 28 & 29 of the official incident report (pdf) of the South Canyon (Storm King Mountain) fire, which firefighters began to engage on July 4th as it flared up, is a section entitled “Attitudes (significantly contributed)”. The authors note that…

Some firefighters questioned the effectiveness of fire shelters… failed to recognize the capability and limitations of fire shelters… [and/or] questioned the value of fire shelters under any conditions and may not have been carrying shelters… [though] all firefighters who perished were carrying fire shelters.

It’s not hard to find parallels to the miraculous shelter provided by Jesus Christ and peoples’ attitudes about Him today. Merely carrying him or wearing him casually is not enough. As with the fire shelters, or Dodge’s ring of fire, we must be IN HIM — in the body of Christ — to be saved.

…we abide IN HIM and he IN US, because he has given us of his Spirit… Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides IN HIM, and he IN GOD… God is love [God = Love], and whoever abides IN LOVE abides IN GOD, and God abides IN HIM. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [which is by fire]. There is no fear IN LOVE but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected IN LOVE. (1st John 4:13-18 excerpts)

…he [Christ] chose us IN HIM before the foundation of the world… IN HIM we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace… as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things IN HIM… IN HIM we have obtained an inheritance… IN HIM you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were SEALED with the promised Holy Spirit. (Ephesians 4:4-13, excerpts)

The Storm King fire report continues:

Red flag warnings were not given enough importance… because of the number of such warnings over the recent period. People… expressed the belief that most [such] fires do not exceed 100 acres in this area [The SCF burned 2115 acres]. The ‘can do’ attitude of the smoke jumpers and ‘hotshots’ compromised the 10 Standard Firefighting Orders and the 18 Watch Out Situations.

Our spiritual senses can grow dull and our steadfast endurance begin to wane in an environment of constant crisis. Most are familiar with the parable of the boiled frog or the story of The Boy Who Cried ‘Wolf’. Our culture, like most, is filled with metaphors to help us come to grips with the problem of warnings given so often that they are ignored. They are not heeded, in part because false ones are mixed with the true, but also because of the lack of visceral, immediate evidence of catastrophe.

It is natural to think that things will go on much as they have in the past. Then, one day, they don’t. To even cite other examples would be to diminish the pervasiveness of step-function change which catches most by surprise. Which is where faith comes in. God tells us that this age will draw to a close and it will be with fire. Do we believe that? More importantly, do we trust in it to the point of listening to the voice of our Crew Foreman, Jesus Christ, getting inside the fire shelter or ring of fire HE provides for us to escape unharmed?

One of the fourteen firefighters to die in the blaze, on the shoulder of Storm King Mountain was Levi Brinkley who hailed from Burns, Oregon. Brinkley was a triplet; one of his brothers is named Joel. On page 254 of his book about the incident, (“Fire on the Mountain”), author John N. Maclean (the son of Mann Gulch fire author, Norman Maclean) notes that Levi Brinkley was, “knocked flat before he could open his [fire] shelter”.

He was hardly alone. Fourteen perished, one more than at Mann Gulch.

Am I saying that Mr. Brinkley was not saved in the eternal sense? No. I’m not saying that. I don’t know. I can’t. But his death, as is the case of these others, may serve as a powerful allegory for what we all must do to be saved: believe on the Son of God, Jesus Christ. I know that that God is just and good. I rest on that, trusting in His abundant mercy. May the family of Mr. Brinkley and the other brave young men and women who perished in this and other blazes, find infinite peace and healing in Christ for what is surely a grief and anguish difficult for us to even begin to fathom.

UPDATE:

One thing I failed to mention about the 1994 Storm King Mountain (aka, South Canyon) fire which may be worth noting in this context is that it was sparked on Hell’s Gate Ridge. It was virtually ignored for three days in terms of any serious, organized firefighting efforts. How much like life in this world, where the fires of sin are sparked and allowed to smolder by those who imagine they will burn themselves out or will have no lasting consequences?

Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? (Proverbs 6:27, NIV) Flee from sexual immorality. (1st Corinthians 6:18, ESV)

Fire-fighting efforts on Storm King Mountain centered on Hell’s Gate Ridge. The main group of those who survived fled off the East side, through Hell’s Gate Canyon. The younger Maclean describes the canyon as a winding maze of dead-ends and thick brush where (before the burn) it was difficult to see the sky or any light ahead through the smoke. This group finally emerged through a narrow passage between the rock walls, much as in a birth and not dissimilar to how Rumsey and Sallee escaped at Mann Gulch. Some of those escapees were badly burned, others stumbling. Less than an hour after they came out, the entire canyon was engulfed in flames, totally consumed.

Daniel Eggers, Sept. 21, 2009: “The Fiery Winds of Jehovah’s Judgment”

The United States of America is melting in the fires of Yahweh’s judgment. The gods of material, wealth, and greed are all crumbling before the presence of Jehovah… Not only will the remainder of the United States of America’s wealth become as vapor, the same winds that whisked away her wealth will bring destruction. The fiery winds of Yahweh’s Judgment will sweep through her chambers and cause devastation.

Strong winds played a central role at both Mann Gulch and Storm King.

David Wilkerson, March 7, 2009: “An Urgent Warning”

For ten years I have been warning about a thousand fires coming to New York City. It will engulf the whole megaplex, including areas of New Jersey and Connecticut. Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago. There will be riots and fires in cities worldwide… I will say to my soul: No need to run… no need to hide. This is God’s righteous work. I will behold our Lord on his throne, with his eye of tender, loving kindness watching over every step I take—trusting that he will deliver his people even through floods, fires, calamities, tests, trials of all kinds.

Note also a phone call received from a dear local BIC, ‘M’, who knew absolutely nothing about this post, my interest in this topic or any aspect of what I was thinking about. You really can’t make this stuff up. Precisely at 12:00 Noon, Friday 12-10-10, interrupting a phone call I was having with Daniel Eggers about these same scary, fiery things:

Art: “Hey ‘M’, I’m on another call. What’s up?”
M: “What was that movie with Kirk Cameron that you told me about?”
Art: “Fireproof.”
M: “Thanks. Talk to you later. That’s all I needed.”

And ya’ think that was an accident? Remember one thing, my dear brothers and sisters: we who are IN CHRIST are effectively… fireproof.

[UPDATE: On Saturday (12-18), I just happened to bump into ‘M’ while out on a walk. It was as if it had been perfectly choreographed: he arriving at a particular spot just as I did, from another direction, with no words spoken between us since the aforementioned phone call. He related to me that when he had placed that call, he was in Providence. Not only does the name evoke… Providence, but the city has special meaning to me in relation to prophetic (if sometimes cryptic) words. That it happened at Noon (precisely) appears to give it even more significance. See item #2 within this post from last year. END UPDATE]

CONCLUSIONS

My dear friends who are standing watching all this, not quite believing that the fires in faraway places will jump the ravine and come at us: Get in the fire shelter. Please. Come to Jesus Christ, our fire tent; our ring of fire. Come while there’s still time. Don’t be knocked flat or caught short outside. You cannot outrun this one.

Scripture tells us of two kinds of passage through fire. In 2nd Kings 21:2-6, for example (and this was hardly a unique occurrence) evil king Manasseh is called out by God for having made his sons pass through fire as sacrifices to Ba’al. (They were burned up. They died. How horrific to even contemplate doing this deliberately to one’s own children and to a ‘god’ who isn’t God.)

By contrast, late last week (Dec. 9th), Rev. David Wilkerson wrote of “the fire of sifting”. We can too easily gloss over passages such as Mark 3:11-12 (mirrored in Luke 3:16-17) as the last Hebrew prophet, John the Baptist says,

“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Not Holy Spirit “or” fire. Not Holy Spirit “of” fire. Holy Spirit AND fire.

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff HE will burn with unquenchable fire.”

Don’t like JTB’s take’? I’ll end with the admittedly difficult but essential words of Jesus, the Christ and King, the one whom the prince of this world cannot stand:

“I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled! I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how great is my distress until it is accomplished! Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division. For from now on in one house there will be five divided, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.” (Luke 12:49-53)

May Christ grant us the wisdom and courage to hear His call and step into HIS ring of fire — His tent of protection — when all about us seems utter chaos and fear.

UPDATE I: Someone who often comments here said in an e-mail:

…your post on the fires was nearly overwhelming with the similarities and connections. By the end it almost felt a bit frustrating though, as to why there would be so many parallels without any really clear message via the events themselves. At least in the sense of “okay You’ve got our undivided attention, now what specifically do You want to tell us by these parallels? They don’t seem to fulfill any prophecy directly, but there is an undeniable organization to them” It almost seems like the message isn’t in the events, but simply to point to the One who sovereignly orchestrated all these things to have these specific parallels and connections. And while He is never a let down, the events themselves sort of are for those who have eyes to see and are looking to see prophecies from the written Word concerning Israel fulfilled any day now.

My reply (plus a little):

Yes, one of the things I take away from an experience like that of finding all these connections (and it is still a bit mysterious to me also) is to simply sit back and say ‘ahhh… I can rest… there is order… I cannot possibly understand, but Someone is in charge.

God is in the details. Often we look for the big, grand synthesis theory… the view God Himself has, when in fact it is the little things that tell us what we ought to do and show us God in action.

Wag Dodge had every reason to mess his pants in fear. Yet he stood firm, listened to the still small voice, got down on his face, and prayed and trusted.

So it is with the holy scriptures: ordinary men and women making choices. Those seemingly small choices, often in crisis, matter. A lot.

What happens next, and when? I don’t know. Most of it is frankly way above my pay grade. All I know is that I have a Guide to get me through the next hour, and tonight, and tomorrow, each in their time. He made it ALL. He is aware of EVERYTHING. UPDATE IV: The deadliest forest fire in U.S. history ‘blew up’ on July 9th, 1953 in Rattlesnake Canyon, in California, between Sacramento and Redding:

The Rattlesnake Fire was a wildfire started by an arsonist on July 9, 1953 in Grindstone Canyon in the Mendocino National Forest. One Forest Service employee and 14 volunteer firefighters from New Tribes Mission perished. It has become a well-known firefighting textbook case. After battling the fire most of the day, it was thought to be under control, and so the men sat down for dinner. A wind direction change occurred while they were resting in what has come to be known as a killer weather phenomenon. The fire jumped lines, roared down the canyon, and caught the firefighters by surprise. Of the 24 person crew, 15 were burned alive at about 10 PM as they tried to outrun the fire through the dense brush and steep terrain. The tragedy resulted in major changes to wildland fire training, firefighting safety standards, and overall awareness of how weather affects fire behavior.

.. The comment I made with regard to praying for all who have made
the decision to follow their saviour, which you perceived to be a
“lashing out”, was with intent to get things in perspective as far
as Israel is concerned. Jesus commissioned the “good news”, to be
preached to all nations, which of course includes Israel.
Unfortunately, because of the recent and incorrectly propelled idea
that Israel’s spiritual salvation takes precedence over the import-
ance of anyone elses salvation, (totally unfounded in scripture),
it is therefore important to make this point, should it be necessary.
Israel forfeited “her” right as God’s chosen when “she”, as a nation,
rejected “her” last chance of redemption, Jesus. All who have
received Jesus have been grafted onto the “one man” olive tree, which
represents the Body of Christ; “the spiritual nation of Israel”, and
therefore God’s chosen. The new spirit empowered nature we now have
transcends cultural differences and replaces ritualistic observances,
which were required under the old covenant, but no longer apply,
since we now live under grace, which embodies the essence of the law,
with the spirit our means to honour it….Eph 2:15
Let’s not forget that old covenant(Mosaic)Israel was unique, and had
Israel as a nation accepted Jesus, then surely they would have
remained as God’s chosen, with believing Gentiles grafted in as
subordinates with secondary status, depending on God’s proviso for
Gentile redemption.
So it is not about the salvation of any particular nation; it is all
about the salvation of individuals throughout all nations; the
believers of which constitute the spiritual Israel of God, by virtue
of natural Israel defaulting on it’s opportunity to remain as God’s
chosen amongst all who were to receive Jesus.
This is a genuine and unbiased understanding of scripture I hold at
this moment in time,so I would be grateful if you would refrain from
all inferences and express statements of anti-Semitism, jealousy,
offense,etc,etc, as a means of discrediting a differing viewpoint,
particularly when it obvious through previous statements I have made,
that my opinion of Jewish people is nothing other than favourable!
However, the differing viewpoint appears to be the result of
incorrect understanding, either way, of the new covenant “Israel”,
circumcision of the heart, and spiritualization of the Jew. As
previously stated I do not believe that the Jews are,or will regain/
retain their status as God’s chosen, so we will have to agree to
disagree on this issue,although there can be no doubt that the land
of Israel will always be the “apple of His eye”, which He is preparing now to become the new Kingdom in which the “one man” will reside. Furthermore,the feasts of Leviticus no longer apply, or at the very
least are no longer binding:

16 “Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink,
or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a
Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come;
the reality, however, is found in Christ”…Col 2:16-17

This is for the benefit of the grafted Gentiles, who because of their
lack of tradition and Godless background, could not be expected to
perform as ritualized Jews, but neither was it necessary anyway,
since Christ consumed it all.

But what is disconcerting is this new found compulsion to be “Jewish”
perpetrated by “Messianic” movements and others. Of course, I am
referring to Gentiles who think that “Jewishness” somehow enhances
their standing with God. Let’s take one example; Yom Kippur:
We all agree that atonement is possible only through Jesus.
And we know that this Jewish day of atonement excludes Jesus.
It is therefore obvious that atonement is not possible for these Jews,
and since everything an unbelieving Jew does is the result of
rejecting their Messiah, then in what way is this relevant to a
believer in Jesus(!!),particularly a Gentile!!! and in a synagogue ?!!!………………We are supposed to be witnessing the truth to
Israel; not indulging her in her error by partaking in her error!!!;
and for all those who insist we perpetuate this error by insisting
on an old covenant Jewish mindset,had better realize that this is
nothing but a retrogressive step back to the early day of the “church”
where division and dispute were rife, the very things Paul warns us
about; and the last thing a Gentile should never feel compelled to do
not because he is against Jews, but simply because his spiritual walk
with God began the day Israel’s ended, hence a man cannot go back to
something that never existed to him.
All who accept Jesus,Jew and Gentile, now walk as “one man” in Christ,
the new Israel of God, so let’s do the respectable thing and let the
Israel of old rest in it’s fulfilled covenants!

  WE have 2 covenants one with Israel and one with the church ( spiritual Israel).
  
  Yes natural Israel rejected the Messiah, but God still has to honor his covenant with them. While Israel can sin, and break the covenant, which has happened numerous times in its history, God cannot break his word.
  
  Think about it. Jesus will return at Armageddon to save natural Israel. This would indicate that Israel’s salvation is still important to God.

    God honoured his covenant with Israel; it came in the form
    of their Messiah;they rejected it. Had they accepted this new
    covenant, they would have retained their status as God’s
    chosen, resulting in the new covenant Greek scriptures never
    having to be written. The whole essence of the Greek Scriptures is about the grafting in of Gentiles under the
    new covenant as equal heirs to the Kingdom along with

  I know the conversation has been intense. Many responses are a result of some of the things that have been said. But, I will be more mindful of how I am saying things. But….. for the third time, I never said that the Jews have the “upper hand” when it comes to salvation. But if you want to cling to that, it’s fine with me. What I said is on record in the blog. I know where you are, for the most part, in what you believe. I was there at one time. Believe me, that is not a condescending or arrogant statement. You are believing what you are reading and understanding, and I respect you for that. The vast majority of the church has bought into the lie that “relevant” scripture is from Matthew on. Your total lack of understanding about Yom Kippur shows that. As long as you hold to that view, you will most likely not go beyond where you are at. You have the last half of the Truth. . That is where the vast majority of the Church is now. Do yourself a favor and go back to (Beresheeth) Genesis, THE BEGINNING, and understand the whole counsel of Yah. You are trying to understand all of this without knowing 2/3 of what Yah had to say about it all. Go back and read Psalm 119. See how restrictive and binding His instructions really are (not)! If you find the Feasts, the Shabbat, and the Instructions confining and restrictive, then are you under the curse of the law. If you find delight in obeying and submitting to the Father, through His Word, then are you truly free. We follow those things He has given us because in it is the discipline of the flesh, which helps to keep us Kadosh (set-apart) before Him and man. In New Testament wording, “Holy and Sanctified”. His word is as a fence to help us keep our way before Him, by the power of Ruach HaKodesh.
  
  Let me ask you a question. Without the Torah, what do you believe this world would be like now? Women for the most part had no rights and were considered property. Think of how differently we were brought up to see women. Without the Torah, the idea of caring for the poor and disadvantaged would most likely have never been realized. Concepts of respect and honor would most likely not have been here. There would be a total disregard for your neighbor and their needs. Are these principles evident in the civilized world now? They are understood if not strongly adhered to. If Yah had never introduced these things into the realm of fallen man, imagine how this world would most likely be now. Then tell me how irrelevant the Torah is now. All of these things, and so much more are waning, even in this country. Why do you think this is happening with a church on every corner? What he set in stone, from the beginning, was never meant to be updated or changed over time just to fit our progressive thinking. Yah is not evolutionary, but he is unchanging. He gave us His best from the BEGINNING! Yah is also not capricious. He doesn’t play games with us.
  
  A word concerning the Feasts of Yah. You are right, you don’t have to keep them, that is always our choice. They are in Hebrew, moedim, which means appointed time. The Shabbat is a moedim, just as the Spring and Fall Feasts are. Both being appointments when He will meet with His people. The Spring Feasts represented His first coming, as Yahshua walked among His people. The Fall Feasts will be His second coming, as He comes to gather us to Himself, not just an arbitrary legal observance. The Jews understood that on Passover of a certain year, that the Lamb of Yah would be sacrificed as a sin offering for His people and of course, they missed it. Just as Yahshua fulfilled each and every aspect of the Spring Feasts, so He will fulfill each aspect of the Fall Feasts. Yom Kippur has incredible significance on your life as well everyone else who is breathing at the time of His second return. Don’t be fooled into thinking it has no relevance to you. The Jews missed Passover and much of the Church will miss Yom Kippur as will many Jews. We are told to be sober minded and be altert. To study to show ourselves approved. You can cling to little sound bytes in the New Testament that are grossly misunderstood and stay in ignorance concerning these things. It is all up to you. Believe me, I am not trying to change how you believe. I challenge you to look outside of your narrow interpretation of things and find out for yourself. I believe a lot of people are afraid to do that. If something they have tenaciously held to all these years, can seemingly be found to be somewhat incomplete (to the degree that there is more), they are afraid they will not be able to trust anything anymore. Yah honors our search for Truth, if it is done to learn more of Him, so that we are able to honor, love, and obey Him more fully.

    I appreciate your graciousness and your desire to Judaise
    your faith, but again I have to say that I personally consider
    this not to be necessary. God’s plan for His people,under the
    Mosaic covenant, could have been successfully sustained had
    obedient observance of His laws been maintained.
    We know that God would not ask of us anything that we could
    not honour, which of course includes the means of atonement
    under the Law, in this case. But we must not lose sight of
    the fact that this was a unique arrangement between God
    and the Jews, while the rest of mankind was devoid of any
    such blessings and privileges that Israel enjoyed under God’s
    covenant with them.
    So who is the greatest sinner(?); the one who sins without
    knowledge of God, or the one who sins with knowledge of God?
    This is the crux of the matter. The one who knew God rejected
    His saving grace, and the one who did not know God received
    it. The one who received God’s grace was alien to the one
    who rejected it. And the one with no system who received it,
    could never know the system of the one who rejected it, so
    the system is now of no importance to either, because it
    has been replaced by a completely new system common to both;
    “The Kingdom of God”, which is within, because it is now a
    spiritual Kingdom within the circumcised heart of a man.
    This spiritual kingdom was offered to Israel,first, but they
    wanted a physical kingdom, with a warrior King as a saviour,
    so they slaughtered the “imposter” who did not fit the bill;
    and because they slaughtered the means by which they could
    keep the law, the curtain was wrenched, and the covenant no
    more. You see, without a covenant,there can be no access
    to God, and therefore no relationship with Him; and so the
    hardened heart get’s harder.
    But for those who have received His “new covenant” can have
    a new and pure heart, because the one who made it possible was
    new and pure. And this new heart is nurtured by the all
    powerful Holy Spirit and not by the impotent spirit of the
    law.
    This heart condition is intimacy with a God,who is a heavenly
    Father full of grace; He is not a YHVH or a G-D with a stone
    inscribed face; like to those who such a Father never knew,
    but still insist we eat old covenant stew.
    
    Sorry, Al, just doesn’t taste right. There’s a new and better
    recipe we should all be offering, which contains lamb filled
    olives in a binding spirit;with not too much heat, which would
    over-spill it..but love in abundance will contain it.

    It’s jewcy with a gentile flavour, and does not need a hammer
    and chisel to prepare it. It’s called “amazing grace”,from an
    amazing place, with ingredients of the old, it does embrace.

  I don’t believe that I am being hypocritical at all with what I said.
  I do profess to being a Christian,(though I am uncomfortable with that label due to the broadness of beliefs it unfortunately appears to encompass), however, the fact that I believe that those that have accepted Yeshua as their Savior are now the “chosen” in the eye’s of God, is only because He has said so.

  The transliterated Greek word for elect is “Eklektos”, Strong’s # 1588, it’s definition is as follows, “Picked out, chosen. Chosen by God, to obtain salvation through Christ.”
  Christians are called “chosen or elect” of God ”
  
  Our Messiah is also called the “elect”, as appointed by God to the most exalted office conceivable.

  I personally don’t believe that I am superior to any other race.
  I have no prejudice towards any race that God created, choosing rather to judge all people by the demonstration of their character, instead of the color of their skin.
  However, what appears to suggest a form of hypocrisy in my eye’s, is for someone who professes to being a Christian, who isn’t aware of our “spiritual significance” in the eye’s of God.
  To not realize this, is tantamount to placing little if any significance on Christ’s sacrifice for us. To not realize that a chosen “one new man” could be created from that sacrifice, means that one has not fully understood the message of the gospel.
  
  I believe that God has plans for Israel, as a nation, and as a people, and that His plans for them will unfold how He wills them to, to fulfill His covenant with them. However, it is those who have accepted the gift of His Son, that are the chosen generation, the royal priesthood, and the holy nation now.

You appear by what you are saying, to contradict what you had just said earlier about being loving, caring, forgiving, understanding and not thinking of themselves as superior, by casting dispersions against the nation, and people of America.

BTW, I am not American.

Also, you did not understand the context of what I had said in my post response to you. I ask you to please re-read that post, for though your response appears to be phrased as in being in agreement, in actuality, we hold differing views regarding who are now the spiritually chosen of God.

As to your beliefs that the Catholic Church is the only true church,
you have the right to believe that. Many have attempted to change your mind regarding that belief on this site, only to end up being unsuccessful. So I will not participate in arguing that issue with you.

In the first place I have never written in any post that the Holy spirit is the wife of Mary but I did write that The Holy Spirit is the Spouse of Mary who is the Holy Mother of Jesus Christ loving Son of God.As far as St. Joseph being confused .It is not him who is confused bu the likes of you.You are trying even now to twist everything i write as to make me look like a fool but in the end the only confused person here it is you .I am not and will not deny what i have written about the Holy Catholic Church for I know in my Heart that I am right ! Dear no Laughing Matter,

If your name is suppose support who and what you are in Christ? Then how can you step out without understanding the Sisters Love for God.

The Lord bent down and told them; the one without sin to cast the first stone.

Loving the Lord and having Faith is the beginning of all things. If we can be as little children having faith and love for one another can we not help one another grow? But when we act with superior attitude toward another what do we have, and whose are we?

God spoke in parables to those who were hard hearted without a desire to know him and I know that can’t be what you think of her.

The women who touched the hem of his garment was told what by Jesus? Thy faith hath made you whole! Do you think God cares about formalized religion or the man who has faith?

Please don’t misunderstand if you are trying to help her, I admire that but if not? Be the child of God I know you are, offer love and caring support of a Brother and Sister who has unbelievable faith.

  for such a person to clearly show from scripture why they believe that

Sorry I didn’t realize you are of the same faith as the young lady.

So what are you saying she isn’t representing your church properly.

I realize that to get to Heaven I must follow him, not men. I am not a person who will destroy all traditions. As some of them in a home with small children help them to grow with roots that grow deep and straight down.

Another tradition would be the Hebrew feast that the Lord said we will keep after his coming. To me family Holidays are traditions. Some where in your background is some form of tradition or you wouldn’t be persisting to tell something, right?

So please I would like to know what is it that you believe, not what is it that you are against that she believes but who you are in faith and what do you believe.

Gentle hands guide and abruptness can destroy. Should we not be sensitive to one anothers feelings. It takes men years to build things, and others seconds to destroy them. Love isn’t a passion it is a command.

When the man came in the Bible upon the man who was beaten and left for dead and everyone walked around him or over him. Does faith teach us to weigh in on things, where others are being destroyed. The man who took the man to the inn and told the keeper here is money to take care of him in my absents, give whatever else he needs and when I come again I will pay you.

Are you the man who puts forth the effort for Gods investment in you? If so do you think that birds take seed from men with sticks and stones and nets or from the one who gives the seed freely.

Freely we are given wisdom if ask, freely we are healed when we ask faith believing, freely we are loved when we accept it, freely we understand when we open our mind to understand, freely are your sins forgiven by confessing and repenting to the one who paid the price, right?

Open you mind and if you have words of knowledge to share and feel people here are lacking there are ways to bring it forth, these are all loving people. God is so deep that I don’t think anyone can say he fully knows all there is to know about God.

Just because you left your church and attended a Protestant church of unknown denomination for a period of time, does not make you an expert on our belief’s or theology.
Also Pastor’s, or Minister’s are simply just ordinary men, like Priest’s. There are always those that are better than others at their calling.

Though I have no idea as to why you felt the need to leave your Catholic church at one time and attend a Protestant church, I would have to believe that within your heart, you more than likely would have held some bias towards it. I am sure that the lack of rituals that you would be more familiar with, would have felt quite foreign.

Personally, you and I hold different beliefs. But as I said above, I believe that you have the right to hold them. (God knows the heart of the individual, and He will be the one that we will be ultimately accountable to.) However, perhaps if you were to adopt that same ideology and offer us the same respect that I am offering you (in respects to our right to believe what we believe), we could all get along better here as Christians?

Dearest Marianne in response to your question about my beliefs .i do not disrespect or any one in your church i am simply afraid that what you believe to be true .IS NOT .Further I will only attack when attacked I have no pleasure in mortifying you .if I try to persuade you it is because even though you dislike the Catholic church .she has a lot more to offer that what you have .Believe me Marianne we have a lot more information about the house of God than you can ever hope to have .We obey the scriptures for we know them to be the rue word of God but at the same time we do not base our lives somnly in the bible because we know that Jesus teachings did not end with the scriptures but has threw the ages being in touch with many saints and has lead them by His will .Do not forget that after Jesus ascension He send us the Holy Spirit who daily makes us fresh anew .To believe that God is mainly contained to the Scriptures is wrong.Because no one can contain God He appears to whom ever He very well pleases.

I was shocked to find out we have had bone break fever in our nation for 7 months after it being gone since 1930? Why aren’t the people being told? Also they are speaking about a rash that burns like a bad sunburn or as if acid was spilled on someone.

I also believe that October of 2008, started in ernest, our financial ruin. I spoke to you a while back about that. I also agree,that what we (as a nation) try and do to Israel will come back to us a 100 fold. Bill Koenig speaks about this in his book Eye To Eye. Even as in Yosef’s day, Yah lead the family of Israel to Egypt to live in peace and safety. That is until the Pharoah that knew not Yoseph came to power and the time came for the family of Israel to lay claim to and inhabit the land of Israel. The United States of America was established as a place of peace and safety for those who believe in the Elohim of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. That includes the Jews and their brothers, the Christians. The Pharoah that knew not Yoseph now rules this country we now call America. Our time is coming soon to leave the land that we were given to nourish us, and return to our homeland, Israel. That might sound strange and possibly even offensive. My advice is this, seek Yah about this and stay open minded. You don’t want to be on the wrong side of this. The Jews, 2000 years ago missed their time of visitation. May we learn from their mistakes and not miss ours.

  Did you watch the speech by Obama? It was an “angry” speech. He stressed UNITY; defended Islam when saying “let me make myself CLEAR”; praised himself more than once to make his point that HE WAS THE HERO (to increase reelection status, of course) and ended with “one nation under G-d”.
  
  If our CIA is as good as Obama said they were along with the specila ops SEALS then why did it take 10 years to find and kill bin laden?!

I tend to agree with what both of you have said. Obama was a snake before this happened and is still the same the day after. I agree 100% concerning this being about his re-election. Even if Bin Laden is dead, this is no feather in his cap. It all has to do with his motivation for doing it. It is all about “his” personal destiny and nothing else. He sees us as nothing but pawns for his advancement. If everything happens that is scheduled for May 15th-16th, there should be enough proof for even the most ardent skeptics, of just how much Obama hates Israel. Time will tell!!!!

Are you talking about the plan attack against Israel?

To me I don’t know what to say because of my dream. I don’t know the day Banjamin Netanyahu comes to our country to speak to congress. It seems like it is next week. Odd how my dream brought me back into the window of the hall of congress records.

Many people of God had dreams at the beginning of the Presidents tenure and in the dream our nation was attacked on the eastern and western seaboards. This is our land does God require us to do all that we can to protect it against unholy things?

It may mean that if congress is given a chance to stop something and does noting that God is going to as a nation hold us responsible. I kind of feel like it is what I am hearing now.
Hillary and the Pres. can have a made up mind to go to war or start war but congress has the ability to stop it.

Why is Benjamin Netanyahu coming? Does he trust the top leadership and they are arranging it or is he coming because he
knows he can’t trust it.

Is there away to send a letter of the dream to every congressmen to know that God is going to permit an attack against us if we don’t stand as people for Israel and he an attack may still come but if it did and we were doing and acting right then God will stand with us and we will be victorious.

It is odd I hear nothing from any of my Jewish friends which tells me they don’t want to answer because their fears of the coming isn’t good. If we don’t orchestrate it but have set Israel as a nation up to be taken down?

Hillary and Obama could have a mind set to do evil but maybe God is giving us a chance to stop it? How could we tell all of them they hold the future of our nation in there hands.

Because personally obama has pushed so much filth. He is now making the military to figure out how to make people of different sexual desires to be mixed with the unconfused. I pray for everyone, but you know that any type of affliction against the word is demonic upon that person. Demons will attack anything they can get away with.

Congress can stop this, if they will find there Bibles and God will grip their hearts with fear.

The US Senate approved a bill Wednesday [June 29] that calls for suspension of American aid to the Palestinian Authority [PA] if it insists on carrying out a plan to gain UN recognition for its statehood declaration in September. The bill was approved by all 89 senators present. Its initiators are the Jewish and Democratic Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland and Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine.

It stipulates that the Senate opposes “any attempt to establish or seek recognition of a Palestinian state outside of an agreement negotiated between leaders in Israel and the Palestinians.” Cardin explained that the Senate has conveyed a clear message to the international community with the bill, which states that UN recognition of a Palestinian state at this stage does not promote peace. An accord is achievable through negotiations alone, he said.

The bill also “urges the President to consider suspending assistance to the Palestinian Authority pending a review of the unity agreement between Fatah [Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s party] and Hamas.” The two factions signed a deal ending a longstanding rivalry between them, but the agreement has run into difficulty due to a vetting process for leaders of a future unity government.

The Senate bill also determines that “United States law precludes assistance to a Palestinian Authority that shares power with Hamas unless that Authority and all its ministers publicly accept the right of Israel to exist and all prior agreements and understandings with the Governments of the United States and Israel.”

A similar bill is scheduled to come up before the House of Representatives, where 293 members have already signed off on its approval.

Israeli officials on Wednesday expressed their satisfaction with the Senate’s decision, viewing it as a support for the stand presented by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his speech to the US Congress. In the past few months, Israel has been pressuring American lawmakers to press the White House and threaten the Palestinians with economic sanctions if they decide to turn to the UN and declare statehood.

Israel believes that restricting the American aid to the PA may significantly affect the Palestinians leadership’s decision to turn to the UN. “Without the American money, there’s no Palestine,” a senior Israeli source said. “The Palestinians know it, and therefore, they’re at odds over what would be the right move for them.”

Israel has also refused to comment on the difficulties in establishing a Palestinian unity government, but a senior official said he doubted whether “these difficulties are a factor in renewing peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.”

Meanwhile, in another attempt to pressure the Palestinians, the US and European countries are planning to convene a summit in mid-July to try to come up with a new peace initiative, which would bring the parties back to the negotiating table.

Israel is preparing for war. The belief is that once the UN vote takes place on a unilateral declaration of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital city, war will break out. Here is a thought that just came to me. God is not a man that he should lie and he keeps his promises.

He promised to keep us from harms way, to go before us as believers and make the crooked way straight. He promised to be for those who are for Israel and against those who are against her.

We as believers trust in the word and the promises of God. He said it is our bread to receive our prayers answered. We are for Israel and all of her people.

So I testify to the goodness of Jesus and all he has done for me. I know that his blood washed away my sins and it covers my heart/mind, by his stripes I am healed and with his works and word the oppressed are set free.

if the word says so it is so, there is no leader or enemy of God who can undue Gods word.

He who thinks not to trust on God or to believe his word is not one to be a part of your life.

Yeah, we are on the same page, his word leads and guides us and his light is with in us. Praise his name of his word, let him be glorified in the living of all of his saints.

Who can be against you when God is for you? Let us do as Revelations says, testify to the goodness of God and all he has done for us and witness to his blood that covers us, the vine that can’t be killed or destroyed no matter how hard or long the enemy come at you. It is not us but God and his protection.

The word says when you have done all you know to do stand. Let us stand on the word and all of his promises and his love which makes goodness and mercy to chase us all of the days of our life.

The third straight Republican Convention greatly impacted by a major storm.

There were two major record-setting, billion-dollar hurricanes at the time of the 2004 (Frances) and 2008 (Gustav) Republican Conventions. They literally became the main news stories up to and during the Republican Convention.

Hurricane Frances and the 2004 Republican Convention

On Tuesday, April 31, 2004, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon increased the size of his Gaza evacuations in response to Bush Administration pressure. That same day, Hurricane Frances increased to an enormous Category 4 storm with wind speeds of 140 mph.

Home evacuations began the next day in Florida, with 2.8 million people advised to evacuate — the largest in Florida’s history. Florida Gov. Jeb Bush had to cancel his trip to the Republican Convention in New York City to monitor the hurricane response.

Thursday night’s Sept. 2 nomination acceptance speech by President George W. Bush shared the top news billing with Hurricane Frances. A journalist stated, “Frances took some of Bush’s thunder from him.”

Hurricanes Gustav and the 2008 Republican Convention

The opening night of the 2008 Republican Convention was canceled as Gustav neared land and the tone of the conference was subdued over concern that the massive Hurricane Gustav would be another Katrina.

President GW Bush canceled his planned appearance at the conventions opening session to focus on preparations for Hurricane Gustav. He headed to Texas to monitor Gustav on Monday, Sept. 1, and Vice President Cheney left on Sept. 2 for Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine and Italy, as he couldn’t reschedule his trip to stand in for the President.

President Bush’s Tuesday, Sept. 2, evening address was an eight-minute taped message from the White House.

The day the major hurricane began to form was the same day that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was pressing Israel to sign a document by the end of the year that would divide Jerusalem and give the Palestinians a state in Israel’s capital city as well as land in Judea and Samaria and Gaza Strip, according to multiple reports in major official Palestinian Authority media outlets.

US disagreement with Israel about Iran, Republican two-state plan, beginning of Isaac, and the 2012 Republican Convention

There is an increasing chance that Tropical Storm Isaac (yes, Isaac) which is expected to become Hurricane Isaac, could disrupt the 2012 Republican Convention in Tampa or, at the very least, once again become the main story during next week’s Republican Convention in Tampa.

Isaac became Tropical Depression 10 on Tuesday at the same time the Obama Administration continued their extreme pressure on Israel to not strike Iran — and the day the Republicans added the “two-state” solution in Israel to their convention platform (more details below).

Isaac is occurring on the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina (Aug. 23-30, 2005) — the costliest hurricane in U.S. history — which began one day after the completion of the eviction of 9,500 Jews from 24 communities in Gaza and four in northern Samaria.

Over the past few months, the Obama Administration has been pressuring Israel to not attack Iran before the Nov. 6 election. Moreover, the White House has leaked critical security information to the US media and the Israel media. This is totally inexcusable and greatly endangers Israel’s security and future.

In the past 60 days, the National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin Dempsey have all visited Israel to show U.S. support but, also, to let Israel know they don’t want any surprises and that Israel must give the sanctions time to work.

U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said in February he had come to the conclusion that there is a growing likelihood Israel could attack Iran sometime in April, May or June. This is totally unacceptable.

Foreign Policy wrote in March – Israel’s Secret Staging Ground:

In March, senior U.S. intelligence [officials] were increasingly concerned that Israel’s military expansion into Azerbaijan complicates U.S. efforts to dampen Israeli-Iranian tensions, according to the sources.

Then last Tuesday, Aug. 16, Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta spoke to reporters at the Pentagon.

“I might not be aware of all their capabilities, but I think it is a fair assessment that [Israel] can delay but not destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities,” Dempsey said during the joint press briefing with Panetta.

Panetta said he did not believe that Israel [had] made a decision regarding an attack on Iran. “Israel is a sovereign independent state, and it should make the decision based to its national security, but I do not believe they have made this decision yet,” he said.

“The reality is that we still believe there is room for diplomacy,” added Panetta. “The new sanctions are beginning to have an impact; the international community is unified in its resistance to Iranian nuclear development. The Prime Minister of Israel has said the same thing — any military action should be the last and not the first solution.”

Obama advisor: Former ambassador Indyk says US sees Israeli saber-rattling as ‘crying wolf’

The Times of Israel wrote: Former U.S. ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk said Thursday that Israel’s talk of attacking Iran was “a classic case of crying wolf” and that Washington was learning “to live with it.”

Israel Hayom wrote: Former U.S. Ambassador to Israel Martin Indyk says Washington believed Israel was going to attack Iran last spring, but felt misled by Jerusalem when the attack didn’t happen.

I personally think Israel’s delay may have had to do with the fact that Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta told the world in February that he expected Israel to attack Iran from April to June. This was followed by the Azerbaijan leak on a possible staging place for Israel.

This is why Israel is going to be very careful about what it tells the United States from this point forward.

Republicans set to endorse two-state solution at the Republican Convention in Tampa

Newsmax wrote: The Romney campaign on Tuesday also persuaded delegates to reject proposals to remove references to a Palestinian state from the party’s plank on the Middle East.

The plank says Republicans “envision two democratic states — Israel with Jerusalem as its capital and Palestine — living in peace and security.”

Altering that wording would amount to “removing the language that states the policy” that the Israeli government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “has committed himself to over and over again,” said former Sen. Jim Talent (R-Mo.).

Katrina and Isaac

Isaac is occurring during the seventh anniversary period of Hurricane Katrina that ran from August 23-30, 2005.

Katrina, the costliest hurricane in U.S. history, came ashore on Aug. 29, 2005.

The storm developed the day after President George W. Bush congratulated Israel’s Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for completing the eviction of 9500 Jews from 24 communities in Southern Gaza and four communities in Northern Samaria.

As of Sunday evening, New Orleans and the Southern Gulf Coast are once again in the projected path of a major storm. With a good likelihood, that Isaac will come ashore on Wednesday, the 7th anniversary of Katrina.

Why the Republican Conventions?

Is it connected to Republican President GW Bush birthing the “two-state” plan in 2002 and the inclusion in the 2012 Republican platform?

The Bush Administration was exerting enormous pressure on Israel to give up the covenant land of Judea-Samaria at the time of the 2004 Republican Convention, and then the covenant land of Judea-Samaria and Jerusalem at the time of the 2008 Republican Convention.

What are the odds of a major hurricane hitting at the same time of three straight Republican Conventions?

What are the odds of Isaac impacting the host city and/or the state of the Republican Convention?

The storm is named Isaac. Is this a clue to the possible connection of Israel, the land for peace process and the two-state plan birthed by a Republican President?

Only God knows the detail and answers, but once again the third straight Republican Convention has become a secondary news story due to a hurricane.
