Passover Me!

clip_image002

Darkness, plagues and death are coming to the world.

Will it all “Passover” us?

The pattern through history is consistent with the promises of God.

clip_image004

1. The most deadly of all the 10 plagues was about to occur, in a land that was pagan and rejecting God. The first ones were just warnings, compared to this one.

God commanded Moses to protect the chosen people with the application of lamb’s blood.

Exd 12:3   Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth [day] of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of [their] fathers, a lamb for an house:

Exd 12:6   And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

Exd 12:7   And they shall take of the blood, and strike [it] on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.

On the night of the 10th plague, the angel of death went out over all

Egypt, and death occurred in every house where there was NO

blood to protect it.

Those protected by the blood were “passed over.”

clip_image006

2. Thousands of years later, Jesus offered himself as the final Passover lamb, to assure salvation and protection for all those who applied his blood to the doorposts of their lives and homes.

clip_image008

3. After the departure of Jesus, and during Peter’s ministry, Apostle Peter was cast into prison for preaching the gospel on Passover (Days of Unleavened Bread).

Act 12:1 ¶ Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth [his] hands to vex certain of the church.

Act 12:2   And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

Act 12:3   And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Act 12:4   And when he had apprehended him, he put [him] in prison, and delivered [him] to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

When this happened, prayer went up for him among the believers.

As believers, they would have applied the blood of Jesus over him as they celebrated the Passover.

The blood would have immediately cleansed them of any sin, so making it possible to approach the throne of God in boldness, and present their prayer.

Hbr 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

1Jo 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Act 12:5 ¶ Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

God responded again, as he did thousands of years before that.

Act 12:7   And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon [him], and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from [his] hands.

Peter was delivered from prison.

4. Then later on, during the ministry of Paul and Silas, a similar deliverance happened. They were cast into prison for preaching the gospel.

Act 16:23   And when they had laid many stripes upon them [Paul and Silas], they cast [them] into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

Act 16:24   Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

But they knew what to do. Pray in the name of Jesus, worship God, and apply the blood.

Act 16:25 ¶ And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

As with Peter, God heard them, and delivered them.

Act 16:26   And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

5. Marianne’s story:

I once was discouraged, and complained to God that I had been unfairly treated at work, and in my life.

I did all the work and others got ahead, financially and socially, using me as a stepping stone. They gave no proper credit to me.

In a life full of obstacles, it was very hard to achieve what I needed to do, to have a sense of financial security.

The same happened in my family life and church life.

Everyone else was getting blessed, and helped, and I felt “not helped.”

My focus was on my temporal salvation, well being, and preservation, not my eternal one.

So, I complained to God that I was being passed over, when all the blessings and good things were handed out, and I was left with nothing.

Then God boomed in my head:

I passed over you!!!!!

That shocked me.

I immediately understood.

When the world (which can include the church) passes over me, it means nothing.

But when God passes over me, it means that I am in His care, and He will provide deliverance for that time, and a way in the wilderness ahead.

That is all that counts.

I am not here in life to be a success in the world.

I am here to glorify God.

When I do that, He passes over me when judgment comes to the world, and I am protected.

This “passing over” is a good thing.

It means I escape judgment due me for my errors, because Jesus took that punishment for me.

My real home is heaven, not here anyhow.

clip_image014

Darkness and death coming in this world

So, today, we are facing plagues, trouble and deadly times ahead.

Will we apply the blood of Jesus, worship God, and sing praises to Him during the darkness moments?

Will we apply the blood of Jesus to the door posts of our hearts?

When God’s judgment comes, personally, I plan to cry out “Pass over me!”

The Lord will know what I mean.

  1. Amen Marianne amen, in the name of YESHUA HA MASHIACH Heavenly FATHER GOD Pass over me too Lord when the time comes and also all Christians everywhere in the world who are not of the world . Amen. Thank you HEAVENLY FATHER GOD for hearing my prayer. I believe you heard my prayer and will pass over all of us YESHUA’S Bride. To You be all glory , honor and praise forever and ever Amen.

  2. WOW! Marianne, AND, THANK YOU!

For those who are not aware, “Revelations” are those things that God, through Jesus Christ, “reveals”, to YOU (through whatever and/or whomever, HE sees fit)! AND, your story here is one of these “Revelations” in my life!!! I have “fallen so very deeply in love with someone”, after so many years of turmoil in my life, that I did not believe, in my “wildest” dreams, (and have never had a dream such as this) a love as “pure” as this was even, “imaginable”. I’ll try to explain as “briefly” as possible.

I have an “open” profile online with a few dating sites in the hopes of meeting (as opposed to “finding”) someone. For the most recent years (last four to five???), all to no avail. In, March, 2011, I “passed” on a profile that, “shouted out” to me, “I am the one!”. After I, Prayed to God in the name of Jesus Christ, my very first words to her would be, “Will you Marry ME?”, AND if she replies, “Yes”, then I would know she was “Heaven Sent”. “Her” first words were, “Yes…”

From the moment I first laid eyes on her picture to the present, I have experienced only the “purest” form of love for her without ever having a moment of “lust” in a sexual nature toward her! So much so, to the extent, that I “dreamed”, of standing in front of God, with her by my side, professing “our” love for one another, “naked” as Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden, with NO shame whatsoever! Should the day come, in which we become “intimate” with one another, I know God will be watching with “joy”…and I have NO words to explain “WHY!” as there are not enough! Like I said, “…never dreamed…anything such as this as even being, “imaginable…”. She is “everything” to me, and she has “professed” the same of me, to her!

The “REVELATION”, I have found in your story, Marianne, is this…I we have discovered so many similar likes and interests, and our love for one another “blossoms and grows”, the “distance” between us becomes greater! “So much so”, to the point where I find myself asking God, “WHY?” Why, has He placed her in my life, and I in hers, and yet made it “almost” impossible for us to be together??? I “feel” as if, He has “passed” me over, when it comes to sharing my life with her, here on Earth!!!

So, Thank You, Marianne, for, “I do NOT question the ways of the Lord!” AS, I do “believe”, with ALL my Heart, that the “love”, her and I share, IS “Heaven Sent!”

    • dear Bob

I wish you the best on this relationship you describe. I pray the door opens soon for you, and the “right time” comes quickly.

  3. Marianne be comforted and blessed to testify to our savior!

The true children of God are blessed; he supplies our needs but not the desires of the world as we are here in it but not a part of it.

He is our Joy, our strength, our hope, our faith, our salvation, our protection, our knowledge, our wisdom, the goodness and comforter in us, as greater is he who lives in us then the one who lives in the world.

Revelations says the saints over came the enemy with the testimony of the goodness of God. Let us testify to who he is daily:

He told Peter if they crucified the master what will they do to us?

So if you suffering know that you know him and are loved. When you are mistreated and loved by God and a part of the kingdom of heaven; remember when the rich man a sinner went to hell and wanted to get Abraham to send Lazarus that he may dip his finger in water, and drop it on his tongue as he was tormented from the flames. But he was told that Lazarus endured his suffering here and now he was entered into his rest at his death.

If we are doing wrong and have things in us that he can’t stand them because they keep us from being close to him, he also chastises those he loves.

So let us be in agreement with God who gives to us liberally. Keeping us under his protection. This doesn’t mean some are not rich and saved. Abraham was one of the riches men who ever lived and king David also. But not every man can live in riches and have a desire to keep his knee bent in prayer with such access.

The more man has in these days his mind would be taken from God and be put upon minding the things of this world and this is not where he wants us to be.

If our mind is upon him he washes us daily, he feeds us daily and he keeps us daily. The food that comes from him cannot be obtained anywhere but through prayer to him and supplication from him.

He gathers us to him as little children. He takes me at 60 years old and makes me feel like I am 7 or 8 years old when I first met him. His love when it shines down upon us it mounts up our hearts to go on.

Tribulations have we’ Why because he gave his life for us. If we want his righteousness and forgiveness of sin then we take up our cross daily and follow him. Some times our following will lead to struggles as the enemy attacks us but we know who we are in him. As he said he would never leave us nor forsake us, more then that we know he arrives to that difficult spot that seems like we might not cross over because we are weary but his love carries us over, or through or past that patch that flood that fire. There before us he picks us up and he carries us.

As Marianne said he passes us by or he prepares the ram in the bush as he did for Abraham.

God has the ram in the bush for each of us when we call on him, trust in him and love him as he loves us.

Oh praise his name he has made for us streets of Gold a mansion to live in, a place to go of no more sorrow, a place that gives love and has no tears to wipe away.

If he is your savior and you have received him then you are like me waiting our time to be with him to be in his constant presences where the very presences of him can’t be explained.

Our time here is just to pass-thru; Oh Lord none are worthy but because of your gift we are transformed by your love from sin and iniquities into your holiness, given your name when baptized and made children of the king of the great city.

He paid the price and for it he gave us a gift just to love him and to follow him. Be happy if you are a believer and sad for all who are lost without him. Pray for all of your family and all who don’t know him, even if you don’t know them.

I am grateful that I saved a wretch like me and that I know him.

  4. Marianne, when you admitted that your focus was on temporal things and then quoted God’s words to you, I had a totally different interpretation of them. I thought He said, because you are focused on temporal things I passed over you too when it came to blessing you. So I wondered how you came to the other conclusion.

    • dear gyod

My focus on temporal things was not out of an excessive desire for them. This was normal survival. Keeping a job, or finding one. Being accepted by others, and not being rejected or gossiped about.

I had felt that God did not want to bless me with these things, so my focus was not there. I thought He did not care about me or love me. Why focus on the spiritual when the Spirit – I thought – treated me like the world did?

His reply was that he did not pass over me like the world did, but that he passed over me at salvation, and his promises were true for me, as they were true for others. So I had to trust him and believe that he loved me after all.

  5. Dear Marianne,

I can relate so much with what you said about yourself. It sounds like the story of my life also. I have come to realize, to add to what you have said, that maybe God has not blessed us with so much of the temporal things so that we would recieve the rich rewards of heaven. It seems to me, the older I get, I see many of the people who have been overly rewarded by this world are lost to it, bound in spiritual darkness. Thank you for your wonderful post – you give so much to me with your blog – I will give you the credit for helping me to endure to the end. Your sister in Christ, Lisa

  6. Beautiful, Marianne. Passover! Words are insufficient. Passover…only the heart can know. Every year during Easter we celebrate the Lamb’s blood shed to save us from Death. And like Passover, the depths of the Lamb’s sacrifice can only be known…revealed to a heart by the Holy Spirit. My current post, ‘Crucifixion is the Least of It!!!’ shares my heart’s remorse and gratitude for the depth of sacrifice made by the Lamb whose blood was placed over the doorpost at Passover.

    • internet elias

I am also grateful. Most recently, during a plague of tornadoes that hit our area, we were “passed over” and not hit. I am still overwhelmed by it.

    • Would love to read that post internet elias “Crucifixion is the least of it”. Where can I find that 😉

  7. Just one comment regarding the linking of EASTER with Passover.
It is a sad situation when Christians equate Easter WITH Passover, as EASTER is NOT a Celebration of Christ’s sacrifice for mankind, but a PAGAN festival which is frowned upon by Yahweh. Read what Jeremiah has to say concerning this abominable practice which was celebrated by the Israelites in Egypt.
Jer.7:17. Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
    18. The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead [their] dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

These “Cakes” have a “t” for TAMUS, and we call them “Hot Cross Buns” Please note that the prophet Jeremiah lived ~600 years BEFORE Jesus!

Jer.44:25. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.
    26. Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth.
    27. Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good: and all the men of Judah that [are] in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end of them.

This celebration venerated “Astarte” or “Ishtar”, which has been replaced by the worshipping of MARY (the mother of Jesus).
Deut.6:4. Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God [is] one LORD:

God has no MOTHER, or Queen.
Mark 12:29. And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

This year, both the Orthodox “Christians” and Catholic “Christians” celebrate Easter at the same time, whereas Passover was already commenced 3 days before!

What has Bunny Rabbits, Eggs, or Chickens got to do with the Ultimate Sin Sacrifice on Calvary! Easter is just a Modern day SEX festival! – Similar to the Mardi-Gras that happen in RIO and other places in the world.

The King James version is the only version to make mention of EASTER, which to my knowledge, refers to Passover, thus is really a miss-translation of that word.

  8. Ms. Marianne. Peace and blessings be upon you in the name of our Lord and savior jesus Christ. In times like these we need three powerful weapons; The word of God “it is written”, the blood of the Lamb and theprecious Holy Spirit. Without these components we are no match for the world, the devil in our own ability. Our minds must becomee centered on these above and not so much things below. The blessings that the Father had for you were so much greater than what you see with your natural eyes. What your co-workers recieved was temporal and the blessings He had for you were everlasting, far more valuable than money or prestige itself. When He blesses us,He provides more than enough and it is continuous. There is no douth He knows what is best for us even when we think we are on the tail end of things. So I say to you, He did not forget you He saw the blood of Jesus on your door post. He loves you so much,He saved the best for the best. Be encouraged you are covered under the blood of Jesus. C.M.

  9. Yeah Olaf, you are right in the “one” sense…for those that want to “corrupt” the Christian faith and use it to their advantage for whatever purpose “they” have in mind! However, I, for one, “celebrate” the life of Jesus, and Pray to God in His name, EVERY DAY!!! Am I then “linking” Christianity with some other “Religion”, just because of, “this-or-that”??? Did not Jesus give thanks and praise to God every day? Where then, is the SIN?(not sure if i said that right) 🙂

Let me see if I can put this in other words:

What does a “child” think when they are celebrating Easter? Simple, they are celebrating to, Jesus and God! Nothing more, nothing less! Their intentions are from the “heart” and are “pure” in thought! Right? Are we not ALL “…children of God…”???

“WE” say, “…Jesus died for ‘our’ sins…”, and then “WE” make exceptions to that statement! What “hypocrites” we ALL are!

    God Bless!

  10. Bob, I am no saint by any means, and count myself as one of the worst sinners around. I am just observing what Yahweh requires of us, and cannot point my finger at anyone. What I do know, is that there are standards required by our heavenly father that are set, and we can try how much we like to excuse our actions, but in the end, we will be accepted by Him if we obey what he says.
What was wrong with Cain’s offering? Was he not offering the BEST of his produce? Didn’t he “THINK” that it was acceptable to God to sacrifice the best he could offer and that God would look on his heart and realize that he “Meant well”?
What Cain refused to do, was to obey the instructions, and not do what HE thought was acceptable.

    • Yeah! We ARE on the same “page” Olaf! And I am NOT pointing any “fingers” at anyone…”for who am I to do that???” I am nobody, whatsoever! Somewhere in the Scriptures, there is a passage that says “…we are not to celebrate ANY…” of the so-called “Holy” days!!! And we should only “recognize” the Sabbath Day…don’t ask me where it says this as I do not remember! Perhaps I am even saying it wrong or “miss-interpreted” the meaning…I’ll leave that for someone else to find out and prove me wrong! (as i am sure they will) 🙂

Oh! now I get it!!! Thanks Olaf! I answered myself with help from you! The teachings of Jesus Christ, ARE the “instructions”, of which we are NOT to celebrate any of the so-called “Holy” days, and only “recognize”, the Sabbath Day!

      What do you think???

      • Nada!

If you recall, Jesus celebrated the Holy Days-the Feasts of the L-rd when he was here.

Even Chanukah! “the festival of lights”

Jesus did not celebrate Easter/Ishtar/a pagan holiday. He celebrated Jewish Holidays-Feasts of the L-rd.

Jesus fulfilled 4 out of the 7 Feasts with his death, burial, resurrection and sending us the Holy Spirit.

These Holy Days were and still are “dress rehearsals” for what is to come and what G-d is planning for us.

The remaining 3 Feasts should be observed for they have yet to be fulfilled.

Even in Zechariah, G-d requires that ALL nations go up to Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles and if they don’t then no rain will fall on their land.

Kinda hard to ignore that wouldn’t you say?

Better learn what the Feasts are now so that you will know what is expected.

Zechariah 14:16Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain. 18If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The Lordd will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 19This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.

        http://niv.scripturetext.com/john/7.htm

When we become saved, believing in a Jewish Messiah, we are adopted/grafted into the covenant made between Abraham and G-d. We are then circumcised in our hearts; we become spiritual jews!

In doing so, We are choosing to follow a JEWISH Messiah and a G-d of ISRAEL. We are to learn the ways of our G-d; NOT to hold to the traditions of pagan gods.

Do the Feasts save us? NO. Only the blood of our Jewish Saviour can do that!

We ackowledge these feasts because our G-d has ordered them for a reason….and when Jesus fulfilled 4 out of the 7 Feasts, then we begin to understand G-d’s reasons.

  11. Birthday parties are originally a Pagan tradition, and I am not yet convinced if it is something we must not celebrate, as it is not a “Religios” celebration. The Bible does make mention of Jesus’ human cousin lost his head because of one!

    Mark 6:21. And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief [estates] of Galilee;
    22. And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give [it] thee.
    23. And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give [it] thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
    24. And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.

As for the Passover Celebration, Jesus instituted the Holy Communion to replace the Lamb Offering. This I believe should be comemorated every Passover to celebrate the future get together at the “Wedding Feast”.
Matt.22:2. The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
    3. And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

This Wedding is the Rapture, or First-fruits harvest before the Main Harvest, because there are many who were too wrapped up in their earthly activities, but are admonished to be ready at the conclusion of the “Time of trouble” of 2,300 days (Evenings & Mornings – ie. 1,150 days)

Luke 12:36. And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will RETURN FROM THE WEDDING; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

As I understand, all of the Sacrificing of animals (Shedding of blood) has finished at the crucifixion, but the other ceremonies still point to a future event that is to take place.

  12. ” For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul” ( Leviticus17:11) .

“Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name ” (Hebrews 13:15).
