This is about a vision that a friend had, and my interpretation of it. There have been many empires and nations on earth, but only a few were symbolized by a woman. What does she have to teach us today? With America facing a rocky future, can we learn, and gain strength from our most recent generations?
As America finalizes its most wounded political and economic season, many declare that America is headed for irreversible disaster. Others, especially its enemies, say there is no hope, that this country will fall forever. Can America make it back to a recovered position?
A dear, very reliable, friend of mine told me of a vision she had when she woke up a few days ago. She said it was NOT a dream, but a vision, because she was definitely awake. I will try to describe and represent faithfully what she told me.
–
The Vision
She saw a woman from the 1940s, with a wounded left arm, trying to climb a large green mountain. She was dressed in a small print dress, bobby socks and shoes. Her hair was now thinning, and gray. She would have been our mother or grandmother. No matter how hard the climb, or how tired, or hurt she was, she kept on going.
Hers was the generation of women who had to step in and keep America going at home, because all the men had left for war. She had to perform men’s jobs, take care of the home, when there were no modern conveniences, learn to ration supplies, pray, and keep faith in God for her country, and grow her own food. With all this, she also had to raise and teach her children. She was an honorable woman. She was a woman of great courage, and principles.
Many also lost their husbands, and sons, and brothers to the wars, and had to continue on with a very difficult life alone in the world, as single mothers. But, what was strong about this generation of women, was that they kept on going, and never gave up. Without them, none of us would be here today.
We are her children
This type of woman, however, did not die with that generation. There is a bit of her in all of us, because her legacy and example was passed down to all of us – her children.
We are not just a country of people. We are a country of values and traditions and strengths. When disaster strikes, people come together, and help each other. We make sacrifices, and go into burning buildings, and hurricane zones, to pull out victims. We rally around idealistic cries, and raise our hands in praise to an awesome, and magnificent Creator God.
Our soldiers pray in their foxholes, and our children pray for their leaders. We become angry when we are attacked for our goodness, and fight back, because we will not submit to evil. We help our poor. We help the poor of other countries, and nations. We travel to the other side of the earth to bring supplies, to rescue people in trauma. We have even forgiven and helped our enemies, and become friends with them after a war.
A Decision to be made
So is all this going to stop? Is it all over for now? Well, maybe someday, but this vision gives us one last hope to recover America.
The woman represents the spirit of America. The woman is wounded, but she keeps on going. She keeps climbing back up the mountain to get back where she was. She still has her values, and she is not giving up.
Will she stay up there once she gets there?
That is up to us, her children. Will we learn from her example once again, or give it up as we abandon what we stand for? We can heal ourselves, if we do not forget the woman we came from.

Hello Marianne!
We can learn from generations past. I do all of the time. I can’t think of a thing positive that I have learned from the present generation. We can as real Christians ( The Elect ) continue to do this. As a whole ( USA ) I don’t see it. Congress bought a little time today. It will not last. You know what? We are to love what God loves and hate what God hates. But it seems to me that we are expected to keep it to ourselves. I will not. If I see law breaking I will report it. I will speak out and inform others of false prophets and false teachers, and even false christians. What if Jesus had kept his mouth shut upon seeing sinful things? As for seperation of church and state, thats’s ok. The problem is that this society has seperated God and state. The founders of this nation were Born Again and they were not ashamed of it and I ain’t either. He will remove us real soon.
In Christ,
Thomas Brown
Thank you Thomas,
I think we are in the state we are in now, because no one spoke up. Trying to show “fairness” to immoral people is not wisdom, since immoral people are not fair back. This country needs prayer. We only have a month left to get this country’s next 4 years determined.

Dear All
I write this from a very non american perspective. I grew up in africa and there, religion and teachings about christ were deemed to be an epitome of modern life if not democracy. We had missionaries and churches sprouted everywhere. It was common knowledge that countries like the USA are found on a solid christian foundation.
Today however USA has completely abandoned God -even the ‘In God we Trust’ symbol in the dollar has been juxtaposed with illiminati’s ‘Eye on the pyramid’ in the one dollar bill. Just how does america expect God not to punish this kind of idolatry. Its time that Americans started to bring back christ’s teachings back to the mainstream. Churches need to be revitalized and secular behaviour like homosexuality, lesbianism, denounced by all the churches. All churches that preach christ as the son of God need to come together and work together to deliver your mighty land. I still believe God will come through to save America and its people for it America has fought opression from the enemy the world over. Therefore Americans need to keep focus- avoid being distracted by what is happening now, God shall prevail in your country…Amen
Hi Humphrey,
You are very true. And if we do not do what you say for the next 4 years, I do not believe there will be another 4 years after that which will be tolerable or decent. Even if we are defeated, the righteous must repent, correct their own errors, and speak up against sin in this country.

Reading this vision made me think that If America is to be represented by a woman, then they are in deep trouble indeed. God uses man to lead nations and has chosen man as a leader, from the beginning. Those who are givn this type of vision and bury their heads in the sand , will be like the rest of those people in Sodom and Gomorrah, in Nineveh etc, who were destroyed because God had become angry with their sin and they failed to read the signs of the times.
In a world where wars are started because people do not turn the other cheek, and where women rights become the order of the day, and abortions are tolerated , where are the righteous and why do they keep quiet?
Americans are teachng idolatry and falsehood to the entire world through their domination of airwaves etc but the Lord Almighty is watching.

hi Juliet
Through out history, as well as the bible, it has been common to symbolize a nation as a woman, even if women had no part in the government.
The type of woman described here is not a modern feminist. She is a very traditional woman, putting family first.
She lets the man rule, and she supports him.
She also represents the widow who has lost her husband in war, and has to press on courageously without him.
This song keeps rolling in my spirit. What a beautiful song tis is!
Be strong in The Lord and blessings.
This is a beautiful vision…there is a spiritual America. Some of our leaders like Eisenhower, Lincoln, Washington had visions of America and what it means to humanity. It kept them going through dark days. The Indians are still icons of this continent, and at their best a great inspiration. Now the left hand symbolizes hidden motivation. I saw an actor, a comedian who promotes abortion, in a dream…his left hand was dripping with blood. The right hand is direct action, the left represents the power of influence and seduction, for good or ill. The brave lady in her dream is crippled in her power to influence, to support her country for good. If anybody loves dreams, I’ve had plenty. But mine are so beautiful, so hopeful, they aren’t fashionable! Now for a good note to end this: Will Rogers said of our government: Stupidity got us into this mess, why can’t it get us out??
hi deanna
I love dreams too. This was told to me by a friend who has been fighting cancer for years. She is much like the woman she saw in the vision.
Government could use some intelligent leadership, instead of stupidity, for a change.
Marianne,
I am really enjoying your site. I have to comment though the woman in the vision does not seem like a feminist, however I will have to agree with JC. A woman leading our country is anti biblical. Lately I have been impressed that it is evil. The relationship between a man and a woman is symbolic of the relationship between Christ and the church and the independence of a woman is symbolic of the church going it alone without Christ. I think the women of this country have done their best to deal with the challenges that have been dealt them. Our government and society has placed us in positions that have required our independence and have applauded when we fit into the roles that fit their agenda. Maybe that is why the woman is bleeding. She is struggling to do what is expected, but not the role for which she was created. I am also struggling with patriotism, because as much as I would love to believe that this country is or has been a Christian country I have come to the conclusion that is not and never has been. Our Declaration of Independence states that it is our right to pursue happiness. That is idolatry. It also talks about the powers of the earth and the laws of nature and of nature’s god. It is written in a deceiving way so as to seem Christian, but the power of this earth is Satan. I am not proud to be an American. I feel like saying the pledge of allegiance is something that Shadrach, Meshech and Abednego would have refused to do. I do know that there are many good Christian people here and I wish that we could turn this country into a Christian nation, but the only way is that we avoid any compromise of the Word of the One and Only True God.
The only spirit who will overcame is the Spirit of Christ.
All the rest is just attitude.
hi elle
I can understand your disappointment in modern day America. However, it was not always like this, which is why a good knowledge of our history is important.
Our country has gone through many changes, good and bad, but the majority of people have always been christian, and their morals and values made up righteous civil laws which kept this country great for a long time.
In early American times, our children were taught to read out of the bible, which was one of the few books available at that time.
Almost everyone attended church, respected each other, and honored God. There was a small population of Jews, and they were all religious as well. The gospel was preached here and over seas.
Because of this commitment to honor God in their lives, and preach the gospel, our nation was blessed abundantly.
Now, all that is eroding away, because those who proclaim the faith have become more passive, and allowed godless people to take over.
This vision was my friend’s who was dying of cancer. I can see why God would have used a woman in the vision.
It is not to make women rulers.
It is to identify any nation as a female in character, as she would be dependent upon her bridegroom, Jesus, to over come and succeed. Israel was always portrayed as a woman in symbolism as well. In Revelation, Babylon, a pagan system, is also shown as female.
All nations, as a woman submits to her husband, are to submit to God. I think that is why this vision has a female struggling to overcome her circumstances. She will not make it unless she turns to Jesus, and Jesus helps her.
AS for patriotism, not matter how bad things get, we should still pledge ” one nation under God,” and keep our eyes on heaven, not man.
Marianne,
I do not mean to come across as harsh and I am not trying to put down your friend’s vision. In fact, I think it is so real and I feel like I am that woman. I am struggling and I feel wounded. I feel like I am being asked to do the job of a man. I am clinging to Jesus, but there is serious spiritual warfare going on and I feel like Deborah when she had to go and hold the men’s hands to go to battle, because they didn’t have the courage to follow the Lord. I am a working woman that doesn’t get to spend the time with my son that is needed. I am concerned about all the shows that he is watching on TV. All the shows have the same plot just different characters. London Tifton getting hypnotized on Zach and Cody and the Cinderella remake in which she is commanded to kill the prince that she loves. I keep telling my husband that these shows are having a bad influence on him. He won’t listen, because he is watching his own shows. I am awake tonight, because my son from a sound sleep opened his eyes and said, “Your dad is dead. Your dad is dead. Your dad is dead, dead, dead.” It was like a rap song. He then woke up and was my sweet son that loves his daddy. He didn’t remember saying it, but my husband heard it too. I asked him if this was some song he had heard. He said no. I think it may be something subliminal that he is hearing in these video games that he plays or on his new Droid phone (it gives me the creeps).
On the news the other day there was a young man that was in jail for beating up a young girl. He was begging forgiveness from her parents. He said he didn’t know what happened. He couldn’t imagine ever doing something like that. He felt like someone else took control of him. I believe him.
I think the dappled horse in Revelation may be the Pied Piper of Hamlin, who was just in the latest Shrek movie.
Pied – having patches of two or more colors, as various birds and other animals: a pied horse.
Notice he is from Ham, Noah’s cursed son.
I voiced all these concerns to my husband and he said it was my fault that my son was saying things like this.
As for Israel being represented by a woman. I believe that a woman represents Israel when she is being led astray. Hosea is a beautiful picture of Christ redeeming a lost and broken Israel(symbolized by Hosea’s wife Gomer). I can’t think of an example right off hand, but when Israel is following God I believe it is depicted as a man.
I have similar concerns…my daughter called me a “purist” just yesterday because I will not allow my youngest son, age 8, to watch the “Eclipse” or anything to do with witches or vampires. Regarding Shrek, I will have to now watch it to see what you are talking about…I will often times buy the video before watching it..
Hi ellie
I understand completely. I was also a working mom for 30 years. I was always worried about what my kids were doing or watching, or experiencing. In hindsight, I should have used more controls, because they had issues like you describe.
If the Tv shows are bad, then either remove the Tv or get some kid on parental control on the TV, where they can only watch certain stations.
Look into christian TV, it is an extra cost, but might be worth it. Remove any games that appear to be affecting your children. Substitute children’s bible music and other christian entertainment.
Marianne,
Please help me here. Is there any scripture that says we should pledge allegiance to anything other than God and Jesus? I know that we are supposed to submit to authority, but are we supposed to pledge allegiance?
ellie
I think it is ok, along as it is not worship. Our pledge includes acknowledgment of God. We are “one nation, under God”
Even under God. Muhammid is under God too. I know we shouldn’t pledge to him.
The enemy has conspired against this great God fearing nation and the nations of the earth:
There is none to stand in the gap and intercede for the people of the Lord. All seek their own gain. People roam over the mountains like sheep without a Sheppard. But the Lord God of Hosts will not allow the mischief of the evil one.
The people relied on Corporate America for an unfailing check and have not prepared for these times. Corporate America became greedy, therefore transferring all the work the people had to places where they can profit not a 100% but over a 1000% if possible. They used the people to extract the sketches of what it took to build this great nation. Your children engineered the trains, the factories, the mining machines. Yet all has been taken, and the people are left to be slaves to greed and be consumed.
The Government needs complimentary support we can provide. Governance is countered by selfish interests, legal manipulation and corruption. Blindly and unwilling they have been used in the exodus of Jobs, manufacturing and wealth to greener pastures.
Where there is no vision the people perish. The country suffers for lack of knowledge to decipher the times. Where is the Church, the Body of Christ, and the Leadership of the Church?
Church arise encourage the people. The state does not want to stand with you but you can stand for the People. Provide Manufacturing skills, help reopen factories, restore trade with developing countries. Quit criticizing the Government; use the little support they provide grow the country. “Occupy till I come” said the Lord Jesus Christ, engage for God’s sake.
Watch what you listen in the News-media; Despite our advanced education, there has never been a people so misinformed as ours. Distortion of facts and control of knowledge as this is worst than Communist propaganda in the Cold War era.
Help the people with raw material procurement, import and exporting. The world still buys and sells, or else China would not still be in business, we alone willow in politics and speculative financial demagogies. You can still afford homes, if only there were jobs and home values were not manipulated. China prizes our products, Africa, Asia and Mediterranea still need what we make, and Europe wants a competitor.
Gather your strength, resources and knowledge. For the sake of the body of Christ, the Land and the People we will provide engineers, researchers and developers in any field there is. Engage for sake of the people. Contact us: vpinc@mail.com
My mother in law (born in 1929) and I were having a conversation. She wonders what has happened to the current generation. I pointed out that they were raised by parents like herself. She shut up real quick. Responsibility lies in previous generations. Generations that were disobedient, compromised with the world, and worshiped something other than God Almighty.
She’s bright, but truly slow to see her responsibility. She is done raising children and lives a comfortable life. She lives for Christmases and seeing babies born into her family, even though some are illegitimate. Four out of five of her children have had divorces, there have been drug addiction, alcoholism, child molestation, children out of wedlock, and her grandson even did some jail time. She is seemingly generous and loving, but the disaster of this magnitude in her family, is someone’s fault. So I don’t trust her around my kids because she represents a typical American women from her generation (born around 1929). She even has told me that everyone she knew lived like her and her husband. I was flabbergasted! She is a widow now, I pray God would help her repent and stop putting the blame on the younger generations.
In His Care
dear In his care,
I would say that you have come to a wrong conclusion. For one thing there has always been evil, and sin, and so this is not any one generation’s responsibility for how their kids turned out.
Also, once kids reach adulthood, they are responsible for their own behavior. While poor rearing of children can produce poor adults, quite the opposite can be true. The child can rebel against this and accomplish great things.
If she was born in 1929, then she is right about her generation. There did not exist all the multitude of problems we see today that you mention. They led decent lives, worked hard, and waited until marriage to have sex…with rare exceptions. People believed in God and went to church. Families were close, and people stayed married, and did not divorce like you see today. her generation went through ww2 and rebuilt this country.
The morals changed with the hippie generation, which is now in its 60s. Look at washington dc and all the corruption, they are all part of that generation.
free immoral sex, drugs, etc, became popular in the 1960s, with the hippies. when they got older, they passed laws like abortion and taking prayer out of schools. Their kids got all the abortions they wanted, and learned to live on welfare, after they dropped out of school.
I think you need to look closer at the younger crowd. They made their own choices, and grandma had little to do with it.
