They shall mingle with the seed of men

Traditional interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the statue with the 10 toes has been that the iron/clay represents Rome, but in a weakened state.

But, suppose it could mean something more sinister?

This interpretation comes from the following 2 verses:

Dan 2:41   And whereas thou saw the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou saw the iron mixed with miry clay.

Dan 2:42   And [as] the toes of the feet [were] part of iron, and part of clay, [so] the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

Rome was predicted to follow Greece in world empires, so the iron came to represent the Roman empire itself.

But what if the iron represents more than Rome?

Suppose, the iron represents the force that moves Rome, rather than Rome itself?

Note this passage, which follows the others:

Dan 2:43   And whereas you saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

The million dollar question is WHO is “they?”

Who is implied as “not man” and mingling with the seed of men?

Here:

Iron = ? = “they” = individual who are not man

Potter’s Clay = man, believer in Yahweh

–

Therefore, iron is “not man,” since clay is identified as “man,” and iron is different from clay.

The iron is not compatible physically with clay, yet there is an attempt, or action, to “mingle” with the “seed” of man.

This mingling could be either

Associations – political, social, etc

Sexual – since the “seed” of man is mentioned.

If something (iron) which is obviously not compatible with man (clay), is mingling, then what is the result?

It could either be

Bad associations, not reliable

Sexual mingling which produce either nonviable offspring, or offspring which are aberrant in some physical way.

In Daniel 11, there is more discussion of a fierce leader who worships the “god of forces.”

Dan 11:38   But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

Dan 11:39   Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge [and] increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.

*** note: watch for anyone who “divides the land of Israel for gain.” It is a major clue in identifying the fierce leader.

Past and End time fulfillment

While much of this prophecy was fulfilled by the Greeks, there is a future element to it as well.

It is as if the ancient king comes back to life in the “time of the end,” repeats history, and continues the story:

Dan 11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.

What I think the iron really represents is the “god of forces.”

Rome certainly used the “god of forces” to conquer weaker nations.

Summary thoughts:

The god of forces will mingle with the seed of men. This will produce dangerous beings, with lost souls.

The bible describes soul- less creatures, in the time of wrath, torturing man.

I believe they are already here, waiting for their time to act further.

I believe that the seed of the serpent has already mixed with the seed of man, just as in the days of Noah, and the “flood” will begin sometime in the near future, to remove this abomination from the earth.

A “flood” is coming.

Pray and repent, and look to Yahweh for protection, because only a good relationship with Him will bring salvation.

The kingdom of Yahweh will be separated from the kingdom of darkness.

The kingdom of the god of forces will be destroyed.
