Third Day – so, when is it?

God’s timing is a mystery. But sometimes he gives us clues, to make us ponder his movements.

God gives a warning to Hosea about the sins of Israel. This is something that applies to all of us.

Hsa 4:4   Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people [are] as they that strive with the priest.

Hsa 4:5   Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.

Hsa 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

So, since we all have sinned, how long does he allow for us to return to Him?

Hsa 6:1 ¶ Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.

Hsa 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

Hsa 6:3   Then shall we know, [if] we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter [and] former rain unto the earth.

Hosea’s prophecy is promising a revival in the “third day.” This follows a period of time in which we are given time to return to the Lord, and mend our ways.

When is the third day? How does God count time?

 

1. Peter reminds us of one way God counts time.

II Peter 3:8, “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

2. Other places in the bible, a day is a year.

3. And in some places, a day is a literal day.

So, does any of this help us understand when this “end time” ends?

Modern insight

Dumitru Duduman is thought by some to be a modern visionary and prophet. He was given insight into the future of America and Europe.

I do not endorse anyone 100% because I do not know them. The reason I present what he says is because he happens to comment on things that seem relevant now, and some of what he says seems to match.

This is an excerpt from a summary of his predictions:

WHEN WILL IT HAPPEN? – 1991 So many people were asking, “When will it happen? When Will America burn?” I prayed and asked God, “What will I tell people when they ask me when it will happen?”

That night an angel came and touched me on the hand and said, “Dumitru, wake up! Sit up! Get your Bible and read Hosea 4:6-9 and Hosea 6:1-3.”

“Tell the people of America that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. If they will repent and turn back to God, they will make it through the second day to the third day. If they don’t, they will not make it.”

So, possibly, the “second day” is something to endure.

By the third day, it seems to be over. Or, maybe the second day is a trial, but the third day, it is even worse, when no one makes it.

But, according to Hosea 6:2 above, the third day is the day we are raised up.

Gregorian calendar and the Hebrew Calendar

Gregorian

So if the end of the first and second day are 1000 and 2000 AD, then we are now in the third day. The end of the third day would be 900 years from now.

The timing seems to be a bit of a mystery.  But God does that, so we will meditate on his word.

The question is, when is time zero (0)?
When do we start time?
We may be still in the second day.

If we start time at 0-1 AD, then we are in the third day in 2010.

But if we start time at the time Christ left earth, (about 30 AD) then we are still in the second day. The third day would not be until 2030 AD, if God used the Gregorian calendar.

 

But God does not use the Gregorian calendar. He uses the Hebrew calendar.

Converting to the Hebrew calendar

If so, then we have 30 years left at the most, if we use the Gregorian calendar (365 days/ year). 

Compare this to the Hebrew calendar = 360 days/ year.

It is now the year 2010.

2010 years x 5 days extra each year = 10050 days extra / 360 days per year for Hebrew = 27.9 years = about 28 years

So, we do not actually have 30 years left on the Hebrew calendar, but 30- 28 = about 2 years left.

This is based on if time = 0 was 0-1 AD.

If time 0 = time Christ left the earth

2010 – 30 AD = 1980 solar years

1980 x 5 extra days each year =

9900 extra days / 360 days per Hebrew year =

27.5 years =

About 28 years

1980 solar + 28 years correction = 2008 Hebrew years since Christ left.

So, in this case, if relevant, we are already in the third day.

Final Thoughts

Jesus was right when He said, we would not know the day nor the hour.

But in any case, from other signs, it seems that we are in transition, between the second day and the third day.

Remember that modern prophecy is just a supplement to biblical prophecy. 

We look mainly to the bible for guidelines. 

If we follow the signs and indicators in the bible, we will not miss anything.
