What kind of covenant will the Antichrist really confirm?

We have assumed that it is a 7 year peace treaty by a charming statesman who brings people together in a gracious covenant that he breaks several years later, and only then he betrays Israel. Where does it say this?

If we are looking for the wrong clues, we will miss what is really going to happen. So let us look at what the Bible says.

More on who he is will be in a different post, so this does not get too long. He is not the friendly guy you hear about.

Key Verse:

Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

**** The Hebrew Tenach says “ he will forge (give strength to) a covenant (alliance) with the great ones (Hebrew: rabim – many, strong ones) for one week. So who are these strong, great ones? If he is giving strength to the covenant (alliance), it already exists.

Preview summary:

Notice it does not say Israel is in agreement with him. Israel is not mentioned, or its holy people. A covenant is just an agreement or alliance. It may have nothing to do with peace.

As I see it, and examine below, the alliance is formed to meet common goals and needs, and take a strong stand against Israel. When you think about it, each time Israel gets attacked by one or several enemies, Israel wins.  We are still waiting for the Ezechiel 38 war, in which Israel wins its most amazing victory, with God’s help.

The only way to defeat Israel now, to those who do not understand that God helped with the Ezechiel 38 victory, is to completely gang up on it in an incredible way.  The entire middle east would have to attack it.

This is what I think the 10 league alliance is doing with the Antichrist.  Rev 17 indicates a union with 10 “kingdoms.” It also may have something to do with dividing up the land of Israel as booty with others, as part of this agreement.

The Jews have no value in any of this to him. He is their enemy. He then betrays everyone, and takes the entire land of Israel for himself.

The Antichrist’s relationship with the saints: he is their enemy

1. He persecutes them

Dan 7:25 And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

2. he destroys them

Dan 8:24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

3. he destroys their city and sanctuary

Dan 9:26 ….and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

4. He forms an alliance with others that allows him to desecrate the temple, and divide the land. There is no mention of a covenant of peace with Israel here, where the rights of the Jews, or the sanctity of the Temple is respected.

5. He is at war with the saints. He overcomes them.

Rev 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

Rev 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nation

What is in this covenant?

1. There are 10 kings who are in alliance with the Antichrist.

Rev 17:12 And the ten horns which you saw are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

Rev 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

2. The land of Israel is invaded, Jerusalem and the sanctuary is destroyed

Dan 9:26 ….and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

3. The land of Israel is divided up.

Joe 3:2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and [for] my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

4. the Jews are sold as slaves to the Ionians (Turks)

Joe 3:3 And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.

Joe 3:6 The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians ( Hebrew: Yevaniy those from Ionia), that ye might remove them far from their border.

Rev 12 describes twice that the woman (Israel) will flee into the wilderness. Maybe this is why. One month before the mid point of the 7 years, the abomination occurs. One month later, they are fleeing to the wilderness.

The interval in between may have more to do with safety, than with the desecration of the Temple. The Temple Mount is already desecrated with the Mosque, and this does not make Jews flee. They must be in physical danger to flee, and being sold as slaves to Turkish Muslims would be enough incentive.

Zechariah 14:2 describes the final battle, occurring later, where this taking of captives also occurs. This is the mindset of the surrounding enemies:

For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Where do they flee to? Maybe Jordan, since Daniel 11:41 says it escapes from conquest by the Antichrist.

Dan 11:41 He (end time king) shall enter also into the glorious land, and many [countries] shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, [even] Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.

Modern day Turkey will be open to the slave trade of the Jews. Yevaniy comes from the root word “yaven,” which means “mire, clay.”

This reminds me of the prophecy from Daniel describing the last beast kingdom on earth.

Dan 2:41 And whereas thou saw the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou saw the iron mixed with miry clay.

Dan 2:43 And whereas thou saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Revelation 2:13 calls this region of Ionia “the seat of Satan.” Does this contribute to our understanding of who the Beast is, and where he might be located?

One last note: Prophecy mentions nothing about wars with Gaza or Lebanon (Hezbollah). Very strange. Am I missing something? Will the world be so focused on this conflict, that they miss the bigger war that is coming?
