When Unbelievers see Truth better than Believers

The story of the crucifixion contains a warning to modern believers.

The trial and crucifixion is described in John 18-19

In the time of Christ, the Jews were the believers, the ones who were to know the truth.

Yet the crowd that condemned Jesus did not see the truth.

They screamed “crucify him!”

–

Pilate, an unbeliever, asked some rational questions.

Pilate asked what truth was, and Jesus told him.

Pilate understood what a king was, and that the kingdom of Jesus was not of this world, and that he was king of the Jews in some way.

This is why he hung the sign, “King of the Jews” on his cross.

He also displayed the fear of God when he was told Jesus had claimed to be God’s son.

Pilate told the mob, “I see no fault in him.”

He did this 3 times.

–

He struggled to free Jesus, but the crowd chose Barabbas instead.

A thief, and insurrectionist, instead of their Messiah

–

And the crowd continued its denial 3 times.

It demanded death, not acceptance.

–

Finally, Peter also denied Jesus 3 times.

It was insane what was happening.

–

–

So, those that were expected to know and share the truth, had truth killed.

Those that were supposed to be blind could actually see the truth.

–

The bible predicted a great falling away in the last days.

This falling away, which is going on now, denies Jesus as king and savior, and crucifies him all over again.

–

To many “believers,” Jesus is dead to them, and they have done the killing.

Christians are choosing criminals and insurrectionists to lead them, instead of our Lord.

Are you one of those who claim to have the faith, yet deny Him, or have modified Jesus to some other Jesus, more to your personal liking?

Does your Jesus allow sin?

Does your Jesus deny hell?

Does your Jesus allow other ways to the Father in heaven?

Does your Jesus endorse greed, and self-glorification?

Is your Jesus all about the money?
