Why is God’s clock going into overtime?

While we wait for more end time events to unfold, we also wonder why we are past the “6000 years since creation deadline” we calculated. Why are we going into overtime?

Yahweh God uses the Hebrew calendar, but since He designed it, he can also control its movement. He can also stop time, if He wants. God does nothing unless he reveals it first in some way. Are we in a special period, and if so, how should we be responding? Were we told about this?

Yahweh God’s general plan, according to scholars (not me):

2000 years from creation to Abraham

2000 years from Abraham to Messiah

2000 years until Messiah return

6000 years for rule of man on earth

7^th millennium – reign of Messiah

In the May 1999 version of Israel Today there is an article titled: The Mystery of the 240 Missing Years. “In the article, David Rohl, and Egyptologist and Archaeologist, found hieroglyphics that provided a synchronization of the Jewish and Egyptian calendars. He asserts that 240 years are missing from modern Jewish reckoning, bringing us to ‘the prophetic year 6000.'”

In an article headed SEDER OLAM, Encyclopedia Judaica records:

The most significant confusion in Yose´s calculation is the compression of the Persian period, from the rebuilding of the Temple by Zerubbabel in 516 B.C.E. to the conquest of Persia by Alexander (331 B.C.E.) to no more than 34 years.”

The “10 days” of tribulation

What I am talking about here is the timing of events in Revelation……does it include more than a 7 year period, and are we seeing any of it now?

One point of confusion is mixing the 7 years that Daniel predicted, with every event in the Book of Revelation. Revelation does NOT mention time periods for each event, seal, trumpet, bowl etc. Revelation does NOT state that it is ONLY about a 7 year period.

The Book of Revelation could include a time period of 7 years, 17 years, or an entire generation. It does not say. Somewhere in this set of events, there is a 7 year period. But this does not mean that every event mentioned in the Book of Revelation is part of the 7 years.

I see both the Christians being tested during their own tribulation time, and then the Time of Wrath (the Great Tribulation) for unbelievers. All Christians have to be tested, and found faithful, and their testing period precedes the Time of Wrath.

Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shall suffer: behold, the devil shall cast [some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Right now, around the world, Christians are being persecuted for their faith. They are already experiencing tribulation in their lifetimes. Americans are, so far, protected from this, because of our democracy, and our efforts to spread the gospel around the world, but this should change. We have to be tested also, and will be tested in the few years ahead, as America falls. The church will have to be transformed into the Bride God wants, or it will be left behind at the rapture. Right now, it is too materialistic, selfish and carnal.

I think this is where the 10 days seem to come in.

We are in overtime on God’s clock. Is it possible that from 2000-2010, or 2001-2011, is the 10 days of testing? Maybe he has stopped the clock, to test, and bring in, as many believers as possible, to spare them from the Wrath to come. By 2011, will this be complete? We will see.
