Why did YHVH create different races?

And why should the different races continue to exist?

Do we abolish racism (hate, animosity) by abolishing the races, by interbreeding?

The Tower of Babel (Hebrew: מִגְדַּל בָּבֶל‎‎‎, Migdal Bāḇēl) is an origin myth meant to explain why the world’s peoples speak different languages.

According to the story, a united humanity in the generations following the Great Flood, speaking a single language and migrating eastward, comes to the land of Shinar (שִׁנְעָר‎).

There they agree to build a city and a tower tall enough to reach heaven. God, observing their city and tower, confounds their speech so that they can no longer understand each other, and scatters them around the world.

2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.

3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.

6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.

 

8 So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

 

9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

So whatever different races existed at the time of Babel, this was further divided into more ethnic groups, as the entire group was scattered to different geological regions, and each subgroup was isolated from the others.

Problems with Babel:

(1) At the tower of Babel we see all the people of the earth united together in idolatry.

(2) They united to make a name for themselves. Whenever we work to make a name for ourselves, we are tearing down God’s name to do it

YHVH God apparently had a different definition of “diversity” than what is touted in modern times.

He meant to divide properly, not unite improperly.

–

While “unity” seemed like a good idea to the people, God could see that they would abuse this unity and get into trouble, by doing things against His will.

The “unity” would also eliminate many individual qualities and characteristics.

So this scattering abroad achieved eventually different people / ethnic groups.

He did not want them to blend and “assimilate.”

Just as the many varieties of flowers manifests YHVH’s glory, so does the true diversity created in mankind do the same thing.

This pattern is seen again in the call of Abraham, to separate from his culture and people, and to start a new nation in Genesis.

12 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

2 “I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.

3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”

Once His descendants left Egypt, YHVH also commanded that each tribe marry within their own tribe.

No inheritance in Israel is to pass from one tribe to another, for every Israelite shall keep the tribal inheritance of their ancestors.     Numbers 36:7

So of course, since Israelites could not marry outside their own tribe, they could not marry gentiles either

(Deut. 7:3): “You shall not marry them (the gentiles, about which the Bible speaks in the previous verses), you shall not give your daughter to their son, and you shall not take his daughter for your son.”

The reason for this prohibition is clearly spelled out in the following verse:

“Because he will lead your son astray from Me and they will serve strange gods…”

One reason to not mingle outside one’s own ethnic group is to avoid falling into possible idolatry, at least for the Jews.

Another reason is damage control:

When one portion of the “united” group goes wrong, it quickly spreads to the entire group.

God has placed barriers by race, language, location, culture etc.

This is so one bad apple does not spoil the entire barrel.

YHVH has intended that ethnic groups keep their identity.

There are some genetic traits that would change with cross breeding

Already in the United States, another recessive trait, blue eyes, has grown far less common.

A 2002 study by the epidemiologists Mark Grant and Diane Lauderdale found that only 1 in 6 non-Hispanic white Americans has blue eyes, down from more than half of the U.S. white population being blue-eyed just 100 years ago. [One Common Ancestor Behind Blue Eyes]

Lauderdale says blue eyes won’t die out completely; they’ll simply stabilize at a low level that reflects the chance of mating between two individuals possessing recessive blue-eye genes.

Other recessive traits will drop to low levels too, according to University of Delaware evolutionary biologist John McDonald.

“Because most immigrants to the U.S. are from Asia, Africa or Latin America, any trait that is more common in northern Europeans than in the rest of the world will get less common over the near future in the U.S. due to immigration,” McDonald wrote in an email.

“Examples would include red and blond hair, blue eyes, and freckles. Traits that are recessive and are more common in some groups than others will decrease due to blending; blue eyes, sickle cell anemia, and cystic fibrosis are examples of this.”

Nowhere, however, does YHVH God indicate that one ethnic group should harm or hate the others.

–

There is just a divine intention that each group keep their own identity, unique traits, and not lose it by assimilation.

However, our world has gone in this direction anyhow.

There is now a universal language: English. God did not want a universal language.

Internet and communications bring people together.

The New World Order is the tower of Babel now.

Cultures are crossing over into others by assimilation. One tragic example is Caucasian Europe, who has lost its identity to Asian Muslim invaders.

Not only are genetic traits changing, but the clash of cultures is damaging the entire continent.

There is an increase in violence and disrespect for others.

Christian groups are blending with non Christian groups, and sinful groups as well, and most have fallen apostate….. This is not ethnic mixing in general, but sometimes it is.

Summary

YHVH God created a collage of beautiful, exotic and unique ethnic groups all who worshipped Him, each in their own way.

Now, there is a blending together to make one big “Babel” group, who is turning away from Him, and worshipping themselves instead.
