I live in North Carolina, and I am waiting for Hurricane Florence to pass.

This is where I am at right now:

As the news media reported the storm as a category 4, I waited a few days, and there was no change as it approached me.

–

So, 2 nights ago, I prayed to the Lord that He show mercy, and weaken the storm.

When I woke up the next morning, it was a category 2.

So we still had a storm, with wind and rain, but it was weaker.

**note: most hurricanes will decrease in intensity after they make landfall.  But in this case, it decreased while still over warm water; which is unusual, and unlikely.

I was so grateful.

God answers prayers!

This morning I saw the storm was more diffuse, with the eye more spread out and weaker. We still have a mess, and there are still dangers. It is still a huge storm.

I was grateful again. The storm was again weaker.

Then I heard a voice say, “the next time, YOU do it….!”

I got the point….!

The Lord gave us the power to speak to the storms, and command them to be calm.

We are to speak to any mountain, any obstacle, and it will be moved away.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he says.

When Jesus said that we are to speak to the mountain, commanding it to be lifted up and thrown into the sea, He was making a radical statement.

See, we usually talk about the “mountains,” or challenges, in our lives, but God’s Word instructs us to talk to them.

And when we do, we must respond to them with the Word of God.

By speaking Scripture, He repeatedly quoted verses that met the lies and deceptions of the devil head-on.

We have a tendency to try this for awhile, but when we do not see quick results, we stop speaking the Word to our problems and begin once again to speak our feelings.

Persistence is a vital link to obtaining victory.

Jesus promised us that not only would we do what he did, through faith, and the power of the Holy Spirit, that we would do even greater things.

So if Jesus /Yahshua spoke to the storm and calmed it, so should we.

The Answered Prayer

Jesus Calms a Storm

23 And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him.

24 And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep.

25 And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.”

26 And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

27 And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”

Dependency vs. Power

We can always depend on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised.

But He wants us to be more than just dependent.

The Lord gave us power to do what He did, and more.

He gave us the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God to use as a weapon against harm and evil.

–

We should be walking in this power, instead of expecting God to do everything for us.

Most believers are not doing this.

They come weakly before God, and ask Him to save them.

We need to step out in faith and use the Power and the NAME (Jesus / Yahshua) given to us.

–

God wants an ARMY, not a bunch of victims pleading for deliverance.

God plans to have an army during the millennium that manages the earth, under the authority of Messiah.

We have 2 choices: step up to our calling in the Power of God, or fall before our enemies, and the natural elements, and suffer.

–

Choose wisely!

–

Speak it, and it will come to pass!
