Why Did Jesus have to die?

Why can’t God just forgive us when we repent? Why did Jesus have to die the way he did?

  1. I read your comments on Juanita Bynum on this website: http://hermansmith.wordpress.com/2008/04/08/juanita-bynums-emergency-prayer-kits-cause-strange-fire-on-hsn-set/

Perhaps you should tap into the spirit and use your God given discernment before making such sassy comments. Remember: A fool uttereth all his mind but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards. Proverbs 29:11

  2. Why did Jesus have to die?
While Jesus lived on earth, he had a “spirit of man” just like the rest of us, except his spirit of man was without sin. Jesus’ spirit of man originated with God through the Immaculate Conception. When Jesus died and rose again, He was able to share this “spirit of man” (which He cultivated on earth) with the disciples and other Christians. In John 20:22 Jesus breaths on the disciples and says, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” They didn’t receive the Holy Spirit at that point, they received the “Spirit of Jesus”, the “perfect spirit of man” that only Jesus could provide.
This “Spirit of Jesus” is analogous to the fallen spirit of man except it is sinless. When Jesus gives us this perfect spirit, God now has a way to communicate personally with each of us. Before the “Spirit of Jesus” God could not look upon us because of our sin. Now when God looks at us He doesn’t see our fallen nature but rather the perfect nature of the “Spirit of Jesus” in us. Now the Holy Spirit can commune with our spirit (Romans 8:16).
