Jesus and His relationship with the Father God

Who Jesus is, and who God is, has been a source of conflict for 2000 years, between Christians, Jews and Muslims. Instead of going by what some theology says, and trying to make scriptures fit into that theology, what does the Bible say? What did Jesus say?

  1. Much of what you say is true, however, it’s what you don’t include that’s telling. For example John 14:8… Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

You are smart enough to see this and to omit it.

There are other examples that would contradict your conclusion. As fallable humans we would like to think that we can get an handle on God. Believe me, we can’t. Having struggled with this same issue, I decided that what we think is of little import. Our intent and actions are what are important to God. Some things are certain. We will stand before His throne and it will be Christ who we will answer to for every idle word.

    • hi Paul

      Jesus is NOT the father.

He prayed TO the father, not to himself.

Jesus is the expressed image of the Father, but not the Father.
