America is still a Christian Nation

statue-of-liberty-picture

Contrary to political opinion.

First, America is a religious nation, irregardless of the faith adhered to.

As we can see, there is no lack of color on this map.  The darker the blue/color, the more religious.

800px-Religious_Belief_in_USA-states

Next, what is the breakdown of each faith in the United States?

from Wikipedia:

religion in USA

-Below shows the predominant faith, or lack of faith, in each state.

800px-Religions_of_the_US

The reason I presented this was for 2 reasons:

1.  those that rule over us are completely clueless as to the moral values of this nation.

They pass laws that are against the will of the people, and do not reflect the majority opinion.

2.  I have been hearing false prophecies about how evil this country is, and how immoral, and how God wants to destroy it.

Immorality is present in this nation, but it does not represent the average American.

It is acknowledged that no one is perfect, and that we have all sinned before God.  But, most Americans do not pursue sin, and evil , as a way of life.

If we go into the neighborhoods of America, we are not going to see outright wickedness, and evil, prevailing.

Most Americans are law biding citizens, charitable, have families they want to protect, and work to preserve what is precious to them.

This includes those who describe themselves as having “no faith” to declare.   They are still good citizens, and do not advocate pure evil.

If we look to Europe and other regions, there is immorality as well.  Yet this false prophecy of condemnation does not speak to that fact.

If America is successfully attacked, or goes down in power, it is because it has served God’s purpose, and its time is up.

The hatred of those who are truly evil will not justify their destructive acts, and the wicked will be punished by God for their actions.

  2. God is seperating the tares from the wheat….as prophecied…Judgement begins at the house of God first…

    • America is religious not Christian case in point Christians don’t promote divisions of any kind they promote unity & equality inspite of ones position/status in life. I’ve been guilty of religion too. The Apostle Paul & Jesus never asked for money for preaching the gospel of love & peace and they mainly helped the poor & the oppressed. A mandate from the bible. A reminder to the evangelicals that continue to berate Obama who has flaws just like anyone but his message is not about division but hope & accountability for wrongdoing/deceit in all levels of American society including the media. When he took office he promoted education & the evangelicals decided to keep their kids home that day. Does anyone believe Donald Trump would uphold ethical standards check out his track record.

  3. If we are loyal and compassion like christ these problems would’nt be out of hand.Man will always change things around his way if it’s not lined up with christ.

  4. I wonder how our country is still a Godly country. I hear people who live not that far from me who say they are Christian but then say that gay marriages and abortions are alright. I’ve heard countless amounts of people on television and in my own community who say gays should have the same rights as any straight couple. That is true to an extent. Way to many are getting abortions, one is to much. Now I’ve heard that planned parenthood would like to use tax dollars to perform abortions, correct me if I am wrong please. I know there are a lot that believe in Christ, I think if we turned out way of thinking around as a whole things would shift, but that will most likely not happen. I remember the old days, they weren’t perfect but they were better and I was born in 1984. One other thing I’d like to mention is the government and child discipline. I spank my kids and I have CPS at my door. I have never put a bruise on my kids and even though they get out of line or they may hurt themselves I think I should have every right to discipline them in a way I see fit. It worked for me and I have never brought a gun to school, if I would’ve mouthed off to my mom I most likely would’ve got my butt whipped or smack in the mouth, but never once did I have any marks. My whole point is yes people may still want to do good, but when it comes to other things what is really wrong is now the new right. This is just how I see it.

  5. No it is not a Christian nation,,,,read the news papers,

    • The 501c thing sounds interesting. I am going to look into this. Thanks.

      • Hi Marianne,

I posted this about 501c3 because of the maps and the info from Wiki that you mentioned in your post.
I am not American and things may well be the same in my country … I don’t know.
But it seems to me that all those denominations you have listed above have embraced this bill.
From my understanding to have tax exemptions in the states … these churches had to …
1- denounce the right to free speech.
Thus the bowl of pottage was sold.
2- these churches now serve the state … not the teachings of Christ.
Thus they do not oppose things like sodomy, pornography etc. etc.
3- even the church of Satan is a corporation under 501c(3)

Conclusion … sounds to me like mammon is served and The God of Salvation is pushed aside.

Truly what DO these churches teach??
        And WHO supports them??
Sounds to me like Essau got his way!

        • I cannot find, yet, the proof of these claims.

          • here is one I found in 2 seconds …
            http://www.theantichurch.org/501c3churchinfo.htm

          • And here is another…
            http://www.christian-attorney.net/what_is_a_church_irs_501c3.html

            • The government sites and the lawyer’s site do not back up the charges made by the original video, and the anonymous website.

There has to be some regulation of churches as entities to prevent fraud, but there are no places in the official rules that say the church has to permit pornography, sodomy, etc.

The one site by Temple Books is intentionally misinterpreting what is stated clearly in the rules they do quote.

              Example:

The church must have a “recognized creed and form of worship”.

              does NOT mean this:

The IRS must approve (recognize) the creed (belief) and form (manner) of worship.

You cannot have a group of people getting together to raise money for a private recreation, and them claim they are a church.

They actually have to have a common religious faith that brings them together for worship, and they should be united in that worship.

              • Listen … I am not a corporate lawyer for your country nor for your church.
I have tried to provide some evidence that these so called ‘churches’ are nothing more that ‘501c3 Corporations’
And corporations are under the state laws.

There are churches which after becoming a 501c3corporation wanted out and they lost everything , buildings, properties etc.

It truly matters not to me at all … who does what …
My Salvation is sure in My King.
I do not need a ‘church’ to pray … my closet is just fine.
And I am not a political genius either.

                • And besideS…. WHO needs a pastor to inform them that SODOMY is wrong?
Who needs a ‘501c3 Corporation’ temple
                  to fellowship?

          • Praise to the Immanuel for clearing the vicious lies involving my legal name Ms. Tracy L. Powell and my real estate in Tampa If there is anyone with knowlege about the forgeries and fraudulent activities regarding my case please share info with the authorities. Some have dreams that reveal this info too. Ask the Lord to help. Ask Gov. Rick Scott to get involved or your congress person.

  6. The government is corrupt. It is full of godless people.

I was talking about the average American Christian.

The leadership no longer represents the people.

If churches had not turned into businesses, they would not need to be under 501c regulations.

    • The “average” so called Christian sits here and says that things such as abortion is the choice of the mother and gay marriages shouldn’t be a big deal because the person was born that way. I heard that a lot in my college classes and many people I go to church with and talk to say the same thing. But not all of these people are thinking the same thing. Look at who voted Barrack Obama into office, I know John McCain was ahead and then all the sudden I see state after state popping up that Obama had won, John, from what I can tell, represented everything that was right and we got everything that was wrong. All because someone promised things, he promised the impossible and I know many saw through him before he was elected others thought he could save us, look where we’re sitting now. It is the American people who help put these people into office, so therefore it is the American people that are destroying this country. Ever hear the saying if it sounds to good to be true it usually is? Well that’s exactly what we got.

      • Denise,

You have good points. This country has certainly disappointed me. Obama got in with more than just Americans voting however. He was funded by HAMAS and other muslim organizations. Remember also that 1/2 of the country did NOT vote for Obama.

But you are right righteousness is losing the battle…..if America is about 75% Christian, 25% of them voted for Obama, producing the > 50% that got him in.

The Massachusetts election did show a reaction to this pattern, and the people voted in a Republican, who I hope is pro life. The remnant of God’s people are still here.

        But remnants are typically small.

WE need to pray that fallen away Christians get a revelation as to the Truth, and that they repent of their ways, and return to holiness.

    • Everyone needs prayers whether godly or ungodly even the leaders. Keep praying deliverance for the nation. Deliverance prayers on Agape Harvest church has some good prayers. Share info and pray for the restoration of Israel. Remember Jesus controls life, death, hell & what satan does.

    • While some things Todd said might be true about rock music, he has proven nothing about individual leaders he mentioned. It is all his talk and his opinion.

I think rock music crept into churches on its own, not because the Illuminati funded it.

I do not believe Ralph Wilkerson and Melody Land belonged to the Illuminati. If they had, they would not have had financial problems, and lost the property to Disney. Pastor Ralph is a decent man. I do not believe he sold his congregation to the devil, just to get a building.

Also, why should I believe he was some top important person in the Illuminati, just because Todd said so?

He was awfully young (in his 20s at the time) to have been in such a “high power” position. I do not believe he had such a power, and inside information, as he claimed.

I think he had too much acid. To me, he just an ex-hippie.

But i will agree that rock music has no place in church.

      • I never knew Todd … so I don’t know.
And I never knew any of the people shown in that footage … so I don’t know.
Silvan favored this film so I watched it.
        And then I posted it.

But even this aside … even the so called music …
Speaking of drugs on the other hand … many are victims of crack, acid etc.
Young people today are exposed to such a rich propaganda machine.
Even if they search for truth … it isn’t found in the 99% ruled race.
Neither is it found it its temples nor its churches.
It isn’t found on the tube and for most it isn’t found at the family table.
What can I say … america is not the only country suffering from chaos.
We are at the end of time and getting worse by the day … globally.

        • And that was just a touch of reality.
Look about you and see all the medications everyone carries in their purses or lying around in the bathroom cabinets,
a society completely ruled by the pharmacies. 😦

        • That video was prepared from a speech of about 30-40 years ago, I think. He mentioned that Pope Paul was the existing Pope. But Paul died in 1978.

So how a 20 year young hippie could be high up in the Illuminati is beyond me. Some things he said were true. Silvan really is into the Illuminati.

I agree that the rock music corrupts the church. It is just not worship.

          • Maybe he was born within that family?
I have heard stories where they take children.
It is not a pleasant experience.

  7. On another note you state …’2. I have been hearing false prophecies about how evil this country is, and how immoral, and how God wants to destroy it.’
Are you referring to a specific prophecy?
    And which one or ones?

    • Hi Abigail

I guess it is possible that he was born into an Illuminati family.

There are a lot of end time prophecy sites that all condemn America as the most evil place in the world.

I also have email subscriptions to some of these people, and I get constant updates.

I can send you copies, if you want to read some of them.

      • Christian prophecy sites? Prophecy from God? Or just their own personal thoughts?
Sure … send me a few so I may read some … if they are ‘Christian’.
        Thanks

      • I just glanced at what you took the time to send me.
Thank you for all your effort.
        🙂

  8. in 1991 the Gulf War deployed thousands of service personnel from my city. Fr. Gobbi of the Marian Movement of Priests came to this country and travelled, ranting that Mary told him God would punish America for the usual stuff. The MMP had hurt me personally and my children with their vengeful prophecies. I wrote them and told them my town was full of prayer, even in public schools, for the soldiers…that they should get out of the punishment racket (exact truth and they aren’t alone…RACKET) Gobbi never rants about Europe! And these abortion ranters are stuck in 1973…THEY never mention the child slaves that make their t-shirts and have abortions forced on them by free market slave drivers who abuse them…look it up. It is now the 21st century…a little enlightened global awareness and less ranting about the wrath of God, please! It scares kids away from Jesus! Think of the harm that does! Don’t leave that crapola around the house! Children have enough to scare them on the news…God’s son should be associated with gentleness and humility, and punishment is contrary to everything Jesus is… even then it is an act of mercy, to save souls, wake people up! For all who read this and are into punishment, vengeance prophecies…is that how the Lamb wants to be revealed in print and sermons?

    • I have looked at your comment twice now and there is something that isn’t true in there.
Firstly you say … ‘is that how the Lamb wants to be revealed in print and sermons?’
Must I remind you that the ‘Lamb of God’ is the one who opens the 7 seals of revelation.
The 7 seals are not exactly ‘gentle and full of humility’.

Secondly you say … ‘punishment is contrary to everything Jesus is’
      False my dear!
You should study a tad more or else you may hear …
‘depart from me, ye that work iniquity.’
Or … ‘ Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:’

Thirdly you say … ‘a little enlightened global awareness and less ranting about the wrath of God, please! It scares kids away from Jesus!’
The wrath of God is real at least!
Enlightened global awareness is a farce.
Jesus never scared the children away and the very young already know Him.

I am not into any vengeful prophecies except what has already been written!
Teach your children the Commandments of God and they will have no fear of man nor the news … because then they will know Who it is that is God.
Propaganda has a lot worst effect on children if the parents are thereby blinded.

And God’s Son should be associated with ‘The Authority given to Him On High.’

  9. Here is the new power until Jesus claims His authority over the earth.

  10. Why equate a “moral nation” with a Christian nation? I’m not sure I understand why you make that association of personal morality and Christlikeness.
Look I know you have many people in your nation who have high moral values, who recognize the importance of this. But they do not follow Christ.
To say that the US is a moral nation is probably quite true. To say that people for the most part live upright lives (in human terms) is also probably true. To say that you are a religious nation is probably quite true.
But the wickedness that Christ revealed was not a moral issue alone, but rebellion against the most High God.
Men can be moral, and be in complete rebellion to God. Men can acknowledge God with their lips and still bow to the world.
I imagine that through your school system you have taught your people well to appreciate the value of morality.
But if this is the measure of our righteousness, then haven’t we missed the mark?
The great deception that the devil has foistered on “Christian nations” in this day is that a “a form of godliness” is to be equated with Christlikeness. “Oh we are moral therefore Christian and God is not offended”
    Christian nation? In name only.
However I am sure Marianne that you have many Christlike people in your nation today who can earnestly say “It’s no longer I who live, but Christ liveth in me” This is the standard of morality that God is looking for.
And I have no doubt that you have many like this, for that I thank God, but these are most definately not the majority.
Would it not be better to call a spade a spade. To warn your people of the fearful judgement to come for hypocrites and those who prefess godliness in outward appearance only.
Would it not be better to call your nation to return to the Lord, who drew you with bands of lovingkindness, for you have departed from the way of righteousness. And the only righteousness which can save you now is Christ, and no moral law.

    • hi Tim,

      See my answer to Honor:

So far, it looks like people are disagreeing with me. I consider about half of the USA Christian, but either misinformed by religious leaders or backslid. With a timely act of the Holy Spirit, this could turn around, and those with the seed of faith in them would make a turn around. Also, I think the true church has going underground, and is not found in buildings anymore. This makes them hard to count.

The world judges America now by what its leaders are doing. They have passed laws and statues totally against the will of the people. That is how the abortion law got passed. No one asked us. They forced prayer out of school, because one atheist complained. They forced homosexuality on the nation, because a handful of gays protested their civil rights were being violated. Religious leaders on TV do not help either, with their prosperity messages.

I think the more wicked the leaders act, the more destruction will occur, and the more despair the people will experience. I am hoping at that point that the believers will wake up and take a final stand. Right now, I oppose Obama, but I cannot do much about him. He has the US military at his disposal. But he is quickly dooming America to disaster. I am not sure if we will survive him. He does not represent America, but I admit a lot of delusional people voted him into office. They are now waking up to their mistake.

Israel was a Jewish nation. It fell into sin many times, was punished, then repented, to start the cycle over again. God had a lot of patience with them, and never gave up on them. America has been a Christian nation since its beginning. I am hoping to see the repentance occur, so that forgiveness will come again. WE may not be restored in a material way, but I hope for a spiritual restoration.

  11. I’m from England and I can tell you first hand that it is not a Christian country anymore. When I am doing ministry I find more atheists than Christians – and unfortunately the majority of the Christians say they are but have hardly any knowledge of the bible and I can rattle on all day about some of the ridiculous ideas that they have about their own faith, a colleague who claims he is a member on the church of england asked me why I believed in no sex before marriage..?! If you are religious over here, you get persecuted. My own parents have disowned me. Of course I knew it would happen. So it’s very interesting to hear america is still religious.

    • So far, it looks like people are disagreeing with me. I consider about half of the USA Christian, but either misinformed by religious leaders or backslid. 12. The enemy has conspired against this great God fearing nation and the nations of the earth:
There is none to stand in the gap and intercede for the people of the Lord. All seek their own gain. People roam over the mountains like sheep without a Sheppard. But the Lord God of Hosts will not allow the mischief of the evil one.
The people relied on Corporate America for an unfailing check and have not prepared for these times. Corporate America became greedy, therefore transferring all the work the people had to places where they can profit not a 100% but over a 1000% if possible. They used the people to extract the sketches of what it took to build this great nation. Your children engineered the trains, the factories, the mining machines. Yet all has been taken, and the people are left to be slaves to greed and be consumed.
The Government needs complimentary support we can provide. Governance is countered by selfish interests, legal manipulation and corruption. Blindly and unwilling they have been used in the exodus of Jobs, manufacturing and wealth to greener pastures.
Where there is no vision the people perish. The country suffers for lack of knowledge to decipher the times. Where is the Church, the Body of Christ, and the Leadership of the Church?
Church arise encourage the people. The state does not want to stand with you but you can stand for the People. Provide Manufacturing skills, help reopen factories, restore trade with developing countries. Quit criticizing the Government; use the little support they provide grow the country. “Occupy till I come” said the Lord Jesus Christ, engage for God’s sake.
Watch what you listen in the News-media; Despite our advanced education, there has never been a people so misinformed as ours. Distortion of facts and control of knowledge as this is worst than Communist propaganda in the Cold War era.
Help the people with raw material procurement, import and exporting. The world still buys and sells, or else China would not still be in business, we alone willow in politics and speculative financial demagogies. You can still afford homes, if only there were jobs and home values were not manipulated. China prizes our products, Africa, Asia and Mediterranea still need what we make, and Europe wants a competitor.
Gather your strength, resources and knowledge. For the sake of the body of Christ, the Land and the People we will provide engineers, researchers and developers in any field there is. Engage for sake of the people. Contact us: vpinc@mail.com

  13. America a Christian nation? Not for long. I know I have defended the Naturei Karta on other subjects but I guess I was wrong. It’s groups like this that are going to bring persecution to both Christians and Jews. I believe God’s in control. How else is he going to get them over to Israel? It’s because of groups like them that Jews are converting to Islam. At our hospital I have seen such an increase in Muslim foreign exchange students coming to see how we run things here in the United States. I saw a woman wearing a Burca in the hospital and then I saw one standing day where I live. I heard warnings about this as far back as 1990. I’m seeing it come to pass.

I really have to wonder if God would allow this country to be destroyed before he would allow it to be completely taken over by the Muslims. That’s where we are headed.

  15. Yousuff Khattab makes the statement to the interviewer they have a responsibility to take their belief to the Pope, but it’s against the law in Islamic countries to share your faith with Islamic believers. It’s so hypocritical.

  16. Radical Muslims want us out of their countries, but they live here and have a Muslim Family Day at Six Flags Magic Mountain and it’s going to be on the weekend of 9/11 2010. As Americans, as Christians we going to get it from both sides. This country is under attack from Satan himself.

  17. A “Muslim Family Day” scheduled Sept. 12 for Six Flags’ Chicago park has prompted criticism from Fox News’ and Premier Radio Networks’ host Glenn Beck, who calls it lacking in taste.

His comments were publicized in a video posted by Media Matters, which challenged his critique by arguing, “Six Flags periodically hosts christian [sic] concerts at their parks.”

But the blogger at Creeping Shariah and Americans Against Hate chief Joe Kaufman said while the event itself may be insignificant, the sponsor is a worry.

The Muslim Family Day website identifies the group as the Islamic Circle of North America, or ICNA.

“Does Six Flags have any idea who ICNA is or what ICNA represents?” asked the Creeping Shariah blog author. “Here is just a little background…”
ICNA has established a reputation for bringing anti-American radicals to speak at its annual conferences. Moreover, experts have long documented the organization’s ties to Islamic terrorist groups. Yehudit Barsky, a terrorism expert at the American Jewish Committee, has said that ICNA ‘is composed of members of Jamaat e-Islami, a Pakistani Islamic radical organization similar to the Muslim Brotherhood that helped to establish the Taliban.’ (Pakistani newspapers have reported that Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, a leading architect of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, was offered refuge in the home of Jamaat e-Islami’s leader, Ahmed Quddoos.) On September 27, 1997, another Pakistani Islamist leader, Maulana Shafayat Mohamed, played host to an ICNA conference at his Florida-based fundamentalist madrassa (religious school), which served as a recruitment center for Taliban fighters.
    (Story continues below)

Kaufman wrote an article in 2007 criticizing ICNA and the Islamic Association of North Texas for a “Muslim Family Day” at a Six Flags location there. He noted the Muslim organizations is suspected of funneling money to the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas and al-Qaida.

WND subsequently reported when a group of Islamic organizations – although not the two Kaufman named – sued him for defamation and lost. Kaufman had written an article for the online FrontPage Magazine exposing terrorist connections in two American Muslim groups.

    Joe Kaufman

The subsequent lawsuit was part of a technique called by some “legal jihad” or “Islamist lawfare.” The Thomas More Law Center, which represented Kaufman in the lawsuit, explained Muslim advocates are using the strategy to bully online journalists into silence.

“It is gratifying to see a courageous citizen like Joe Kaufman withstand the legal intimidation of a well-financed lawsuit aimed at shutting down his right to speak out against the threats of radical Islam,” Richard Thompson, president of the Thomas More Law Center, said of the case.

Kaufman’s original concern was over the influence of the Islamic organizations.

“While using images of cartoon characters and sponsoring events at amusement parks may seem innocuous, the danger that the Islamic Circle of North America poses to the United States, Canada and others is clear,” Kaufman wrote. “As a faction of the Muslim Brotherhood, the organization looks to impose Islam on Western society, and as a donor to a terrorist organization, the group is a willing participant in the act of violence.”

Kaufman told WND today the current dispute over the event in Chicago isn’t so much that it’s happening, or even that it’s taking place Sept. 12, one day after the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

“The whole thing regarding this is that it [ICNA] is part of the Muslim Brotherhood of Pakistan, Jamaat e-Islami. It is the American affiliate of that. … That in itself is troubling,” he said.

“The organization in Pakistan, they can give money to groups like Hamas without problems. They can’t get in trouble for doing so. This is a problem. ICNA [is] connected to groups, to terror organizations. They’re really part of the same organization.”

He said his research on ICNA is on his Americans Against Hate site.

Six Flags officials told Fox News, which also raised questions about the event and its timing, that there are “numerous” special events in the parks.

The Muslim event was scheduled to coincide with the end of Ramadan, said officials who confirmed the schedule for the day includes prayer services and a special menu for Muslims.

Web information on the plans said, “A special selection of various Halal/Zabiha Restaurants Vendors will be selling their food in a designated area in the Southwest Territory. The halal/zabiha restaurant food will be available for purchase all day long. … Southwest Territory is also the place to gather for all prayers and socializing.”

The event website says the “Muslim Family Day” events first were held in 2000 and in 2008 appeared in seven different locations.

ICNA calls itself a “leading grass roots organization that provides various Islamic educational, social and charitable services to the American Muslim community as well as the general public.”

It states it works to “help mold the individual and reform the society at large.”

But Creeping Shariah’s author explained, “ICNA works closely with the Muslim American Society (MAS). Speaking at a December 2002 conference sponsored by ICNA and MAS, Muslim cleric Shaker Elsayed complained in Arabic ‘about the subject unfairly named suicide bomber, homicide bomber, murderers, or killers. Our answer to this issue is simple … The Islamic scholars said whenever there is an attack on an Islamic state or occupation, or the honor of the Muslims has been violated, the jihad is a must for everyone, a child, a lady and a man. They have to make jihad with every tool that they can get in their hand … and if they don’t have anything in their hand then they can fight with their hand without weapons.”

The website also points out ICNA was listed by the FBI at the trial of the Holy Land Foundation in Dallas as a friend of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Egypt-based group that seeks to establish Islamic law worldwide.

Kaufman’s research documents ICNA’s links to Pakistan’s Jamaat e-Islami, which posted on its website in 2006 a report that ICNA’s two charities, ICNA Relief and Helping Hand, donated $99,000 to Hamas.

A case similar to the one brought against Kaufman also is pending over the publication of the book “Muslim Mafia,” which documents Islamic subversion of America through the Council on American-Islamic Relations and related groups spawned by the Muslim Brotherhood, the parent organization of al-Qaida and Hamas.

“Muslim Mafia” is the product of a daring six-month undercover operation by three young investigators who served as CAIR interns.

In Kaufman’s case, an eventual ruling from a three-judge panel of the Texas Second Court of Appeals found that not only did the Muslim organizations have no basis for claiming defamation – since Kaufman didn’t name or point to them in his article – it also declared online journalists merit the same status and legal protections their more traditional media peers enjoy.

The opinion of the court, written by Justice Terrie Livingston, overturned a lower court’s denial of Kaufmann’s motion to dismiss the libel claim before a time-consuming and expensive trial.

Pentagon Denies Flyover of Patriotic ‘God and Country Rally’ in Nampa Idaho Because of its Christian Content
Contact: Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Christian Defense Coalition, 540-538-4741, 202-547-1735; Brandi Swindell, Director, Generation Life, 208-867-1307; Patti Syme, Director, The God and Country Rally, 208-573-9300

NAMPA, Idaho, July 3 /Christian Newswire/ — This marks the first time in the 42 year history of the event that a flyover request was denied by the Pentagon.

The event is held ever year to honor the spiritual foundations of our country with a special emphasis on the men and women who serve in the armed forces.

In past years, the “God and Country Rally” has focused on honoring and paying tribute to those veterans who have served our nation in the past and those who are currently on active duty.

At the rally this year, all five branches of the armed services were featured with over 60 new recruits sworn into the military at the event.

After a phone conversation and an e-mail response from the Pentagon, Rally Director Patti Syme says they were denied the request for a flyover this year because of the “Christian” nature of the event.

The e-mail from the Pentagon can be seen here.

The Christian Defense Coalition says this is a “slap in the face” to all those who have proudly served or are currently on active duty in the armed services.

The group is concerned that this new policy may indicate an open hostility toward public expressions of faith by the Obama Administration.

Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Christian Defense Coalition, states,

“For years, flyovers have been allowed by the Pentagon at the ‘God and Country Rally’ in Nampa Idaho. These flyovers were not to endorse or promote any one religious faith tradition. Rather, they were held to honor and pay tribute to our heroic men and women who have served or are currently serving in our armed forces.

“For the Obama Administration to deny a flyover for the first time, is a slap in the face to all those who proudly serve our country especially when we are at war. These flyovers have been a special part of the ‘God and Country Rally’ for many years.

“Will the new policy of President Obama be that a person has to surrender their faith tradition to honor and pay tribute to our courageous men and women who serve in the military?

“With respect to the economic concerns that the Pentagon mentioned, I would answer this way. If we can pay hundreds thousands of dollars for President Obama to go on a date with his wife to see a Broadway show and have an expensive dinner in New York City, we can certainly find a way to honor our brave men and women who serve in the armed services with a simple flyover.

“The Christian Defense Coalition will diligently work to reverse this unjust policy and determine why this flyover was denied in the first place.”

Brandi Swindell, national Christian activist and Director of Generation Life, based in Idaho, adds,

“For the Pentagon to deny this flyover for the first time in the history of our state is deeply troubling and disturbing.

“During a time of war and especially around the 4th of July we should be doing all within our power as a nation to honor and respect our military.

“It must be stressed that the flyover was not to honor Christianity but to honor our fallen heroes who have proudly given their lives to protect our country and advance the cause of liberty around the world.

“Does this mean in the future that all public rallies must be stripped of any expressions of faith to respect our military? This Administration should be protecting religious expression in the public square not crushing it.

“I hope that President Obama will reverse this unjust policy and next year we will be allowed to give the military the honor they deserve.”

  19. My husband was sitting in a Carl’r Jr. restaurant having a private conversation with a mechanic friend in Spanish. The mechanic was complaining about some middle east costumers and my husband replied “Get used to it, they are going to take over” The muslims sitting in the next table over heard the conversation and within 15 minutes 16 of them showed up to confront them. The manager had to call the police.

After that incident in Iran Iranian muslims started handing out their literature to random people and when my husband pulled up to a stop sign the truck next to him got approached by a group with their literature and the people in the truck told them, it wasn’t their fight. And what was the reaction, they were harrassed.

  20. Christians need to wake up to what is going on in the world and especially in the United States. Turn off your TV’s. Stop going to the movies. Hasshem films just like Max Egan have movies out called “The Awakening”. Christians need “An Awakening”

  22. I have heard this about Alex Jones before and thats why I don’t follow him:

    http://www.atlanteanconspiracy.com/

“Let me begin by saying I’ve been a long-time, big-time Alex Jones supporter and defender. I owe a lot to Alex for waking me up to various conspiracies, I enjoy listening to his show, and I find certain aspects of his personality admirable. However, increasingly I have been finding evidence that Alex Jones, like many other “truth” movement heroes, is not really what he seems.

“Let’s start with this video. Here Alex charges into a calm, peaceful gun-rights demonstration with his bullhorn screaming over the top of everyone else about not being a slave. He then proceeds to tell the demonstration organizer that she “has a hard-on for him.”

    • hi Kitti

I support, in general, efforts to expose and correct corruption, and other problems in this country, but I feel the spiritual and intellectual approach will make more progress than physical opposition. A physical presence is required but not acting only on that level. Such is the video with Jones.

  23. I wonder who made this video? It’s hard to know who to believe. I can see why Christians don’t listen to any of these people. I think I’ll stick with who I identify with.

    STRONG, SPIRITUAL CASTOR OIL

God’s command to love our enemies can seem like bitter, distasteful medicine.
But, like the castor oil I had to swallow in my youth, it is medicine that
    heals.

Jesus states very clearly: “Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt
love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies,
bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them
which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:43–44).

Was Jesus contradicting the law here? Not at all. He was reversing the spirit
of flesh that had entered the law. At that time, Jews loved only other Jews. A
Jew wasn’t to shake hands with a Gentile, or even allow his robe to swish
against an outsider’s clothing. Yet, this wasn’t the spirit of the law. The law
was holy, instructing, “If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if
he be thirsty, give him water to drink: for thou shalt heap coals of fire upon
his head, and the Lord shall reward thee” (Proverbs 25:21–22).

We can hate the immoral actions of those in government. We can hate the sins of
homosexuals, abortionists and all Christ despisers. But the Lord commands us to
love them as people—people for whom Jesus died. And he commands us to pray
for them. If at any time I despise a person rather than the principle behind
that person, I’m not truly representing Christ.

I have witnessed a homosexual parade on Fifth Avenue here in New York City. Two
hundred fifty thousand gays, many half nude, some with signs proclaiming “God is
Gay.” I saw them break rank and jump on Christians carrying signs, “God HATES
    Your Sin—But He Loves You.”

I blushed with hot anger. I felt like calling Sodom-like fire upon them. But on
reflection, I said to my heart, “I am like the disciples who wanted to call down
fire and consume those who rejected Jesus.”

I say—Homosexuality is sin! So is adultery! So is bitterness and
    unforgiveness.

Love your enemies! Love those “in your face” militant sinners? Pray for them?
    Bless them that curse you?

That is exactly what Jesus said!

    So do it!

  25. Maybe it’s good I haven’t been successful getting any of my Born again Christians Friends to listen some of these broadcasters; like Alex Jones and Bill Cooper:

  26. It’s my M.O. getting off the track. This guy makes a good point in his video about Alex Jones. Bill Cooper died (was killed) for his beliefs while Alex Jones broadcasts his information all around the world through people like me and it still alive. Something to think aboout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Just listen and then reflect on what is said.

Try to see what kind of evidence they have for what they say.

opinion is nothing unless they can back it up.

  27. Here’s another one of those You Tubes on “Disinfowars”. How Gullible we all can be sometimes. I’m so glad I went back and re-examined my beliefs. I got really shook up this last year. I ran into a highschool friend who is Jewish and used to believe in Jesus. His wife and him are no longer believers. How can you believe a lie for 33 years?

    • hi Kitti

You do not know what negative experiences your friends may have had in the church, or in their personal lives, to turn them away.

Just pray that they make their way back to Jesus.

  28. I want to expose “THE EXPOSERS”. Here’s a response to this You Tube:

@DisInfoWars I ‘see’ right through YOU. Point to the verse where Jesus says “God helps the ones who help themselves”. You agreed with PracticalTheorist when he spit that one out along with the rest of his new age drivel to give credence to your own. Congratulations on spreading more lies, chaos and confusion about Jesus Christ. That IS your job isn’t it? Point fingers at ‘disinfo agents’ while being one yourself? What exactly scares you people so much about the REAL Jesus Christ? Hmmm?

  29. See? Here is the hidden message… read careful.. see the layers behide this words what Obama has spoken in his own words.. “OBAMA: I strongly believe that my personal story is wrapped up with the larger story of this country. That my individual salvation rests on our collective salvation.”

Sounds too much like sickle to do the reaping.. to collect..
I might not always been good with bible verses… but I do understand puzzles.. I do not understand people’s bickerings over what God simply said in bible.. So basic and so simple yet everyone makes it look harder than it truly seems. Not nessecary. All people look is .. SO simple.. SO basic ways.. to start with.
Anyway, heard rumors on comsic tsuamsi.. Interesting.. Not surprised..
I probably will not be around for a while due to moving… So, you all take care 🙂 And I will just keep reading whatever I can.. but not able to response until after Oct. 🙂 Be safe and be well. Many blessings.

  34. This is a good example of how not to reach Muslims. You need to know their practices and what they believe and have respect. Don’t stereo type them.

  35. I don’t know who is making these videos or putting these people up to them, but there are sincere enough Ex_Muslims that have converted to Christianity that don’t need to fake it like these videos demonstrate.

  36. Sometimes I think: This stuff can’t be real. This is all a bad dream and I just have to wake up. But not until I picked up a People magazine at work and Miley Cyrus was in it using the sign, did I believe it’s real. I told my husband: See, there it is. I’m not going crazy.

  38. Regarding the controversy surrounding Terry Jones and burning the quaran/koran, whatever……this is what I have to say in response to G-D telling us “thou shall NOT have any other gods before me”….I am my father’s daughter…..so I loudly say BURN BABY BURN!

    • I hope he goes through with it. Maybe we should all join him. It is not an act of intolerance, as some would claim. It equals the WTC mosque, where we are taking back what belongs to us, and removing what is unwanted.

      • I realized last night that when G-D tells us “thou shall NOT have any other gods before me” that G-d was NOT telling us to have religious freedom, which the muslims are deceptively hiding behind in order to build their Mosque, burn the Holy Bible (hundreds of them) and the American Flag!

I am disappointed that these other so called “christian” pastors and churches are NOT supporting Mr Jones. I believe as Christians, we have an obligation to stand up for what is RIGHT and to get this EVIL out of here! Our passivity is what has “tolerated” its presence….Evil prospers when good men do NOTHING.

  39. I guess I was looking for a Christian Awakening and I got it. (See above entries on the Wake up Project by the Muslims and the New Age Awakening)

    The Heart of Calvary Chapel

3 COMMENTSBy Josh Turansky Filed in Uncategorized November 24th, 2009 @ 11:25 am
This article was originally posted by Josh Turansky in 2007

For years now Calvary Chapel has ministered to thousands of people. And from the start of the movement people have asked why Calvary Chapel has been so successful. Many people look back on the decision to welcome hippies into the church as the reason for Calvary Chapel’s great success. Others would point to the openness to contemporary worship as a cause for success. Maybe one would suggest our stance on the Holy Spirit made us successful or the way that we viewed eschatology.

But as good as these things were, they were not the true reason for Calvary Chapel’s success.

God has blessed Calvary Chapel because of how it handled the Bible. Calvary Chapel esteems the Bible zealously, holds to it emphatically, examines it thoroughly, and trusts in implicitly. Calvary Chapel believes the Word of God is written by God (inspiration), does not have error (inerrancy), is able to be interpreted literally (clarity), and it is applicable to all of life (authority). This is why God has blessed Calvary Chapel. We have been consumed with our love for the Bible.

And it was from this foundation on the word of God that Calvary Chapel acted. We had the “hearing of faith” as it says in Galatians 3:5. We obeyed what we read. This obedience to the Word lead to a ministry to hippies, an openness to spiritual gifts, contemporary worship, pretrib and premil eschatology, a middle road between calvanism and arminianism, the emphasis on the New Covenant Grace of God, and the strong stance against humanistic psychology.

But lets not forget the foundation: the Bible. The danger is to focus on the right actions and forget the foundational cause of those actions. Jesus’ Church is not built by man’s abilities and man’s energies. Jesus builds His Church on His foundation: the Word of God.

We are not the first great move of the Holy Spirit upon a generation. We are only a part of the most recent awakening that has taken place. There was the great reformation of the 1600s, the awakening of 1727. the awakening of the 1790s, the awakening of the 1830s, the awakening of 1859, and the awakening of 1885. Then there was the Jesus movement of the late sixties. But when we look back at all of the recent works of God we see over and over the foundation of the Word of God. Men and women were called back to the Bible by the inward tug of the Spirit. And this is true of Calvary Chapel’s foundation as well.

Sometimes we can act like we created verse-by-verse teaching or were the first ones to invent a Spirit filled worship service. Nothing could be further from the truth. Calvary Chapel merely represents a recent group of believers that have obeyed the basics of Christianity. This was our foundation: The Word of God.

I’m not going to post all of them.

Mandatory Arabic Classes Coming To Mansfield

MANSFIELD (CBSDFW.COM) – Some Students at Mansfield ISD schools could soon be learning Arabic as a required language. The school district wants students at select schools to take Arabic language and culture classes as part of a federally funded grant.

The Foreign Language Assistance Program (FLAP) grant was awarded to Mansfield ISD last summer by the U.S. Department of Education.

As part of the five-year $1.3 million grant, Arabic classes would be mandatory at Cross Timbers Intermediate School and Kenneth Davis Elementary School. The program would also be optional for students at T. A. Howard Middle School and Summit High School.

Parents at Cross Timbers say they were caught off-guard by the program, and were surprised the district only told them about it in a meeting Monday night between parents and Mansfield ISD Superintendent Bob Morrison.

The DOE has identified Arabic as a ‘language of the future.’ But parent Joseph Balson was frustrated by the past. “Why are we just now finding out about it?” asked Balson. “It’s them (Mansfield ISD) applying for the grant, getting it approved and them now saying they’ll go back and change it only when they were caught trying to implement this plan without parents knowing about it.”

Trisha Savage thinks it will offer a well-rounded education. “I think its a great opportunity that will open doors. We need to think globally and act locally.”

Mansfield ISD says in addition to language, the grant provides culture, government, art, traditions and history as part of the curriculum.

Some parents had concerns over religion. “The school doesn’t teach Christianity, so I don’t want them teaching Islam,” said parent Baron Kane. During Monday’s meeting Morrison stressed the curriculum would not be about religion, but about Arabic language and culture, similar to the Spanish curriculum already in place in the district.

Kheirieh Hannun was born in the Middle East but raised in the U.S. She believes giving students the option to learn Arabic will give her son and others like him the option to learn more about their culture. “It was surprising, but I think it’s okay, and it will help come down on the stereotype.” Hannun says she is hopeful the class could broaden the minds of not only students, but also parents.

The FLAP grant was awarded to only five school districts across the country, including Mansfield.

  45. You would think 9/11 would have had just the opposite effect on people as far as belief goes. These are not an isolated cases. 60,000 people have watched this video. Instead of demonizing Muslims, we better get out there and evangelize them here in our own country or we will be turned into a Muslim Coutry. The United States is our mission field. How many Muslims have you given a Bible to, while we still have the freedom to? I’ve seen Burkas here in California, on the corner and in a store. Don’t think it can’t happen here? The Mosque in our area has a dome just like the one in Jerusalem. Too Much. Baptist ministers turning to Islam.
