Iglesia ni Cristo Church in Iloilo City refused to shelter the Filipino victims of Super Typhoon Yolanda.

It is striking that they have such an attitude when people are losing homes during the onslaught of the super typhoon Haiyan.

Outside trees were falling and iron sheets from the rooftops of many houses were flying like paper sheets. In face of danger, it is natural tendencies of Filipinos to take shelter to Churches and schools.

Yet there members of Iglesia ni Cristo refused to open doors like the unmerciful inkeepers in Bethlehem during the birth of the Messia, refusing shelter to the Holy Family.

Take note, they pride themselves for having their chapel standing right after the storm, Good for them.

However, a house of worship that is not a house of charity is evil. Like the Pyramids of the pagans they stand as lasting memorial of the emptiness of the Pharaoh’s heart.

Thoughts

This is the most heartless situation I have heard in a long time.

God says he shows mercy to those who show mercy. So this church has condemned itself.

Some countries are sending help.

Most noteworthy is Israel, that is sending money, as well as medical crews to help the victims.

I am also encouraged that the UAE, representing Islamic countries, is sending money.

Samaritan’s Purse, representing Christians, is also sending help.

–

The Lord is watching these situations, to see who is a sheep, who honors his name and obeys in love, and who is a goat, who claims his name, but denies help to those in need.

–

Eventually, each us will face danger and destruction. Will we merit help from God and will He send others to help us?

Maybe the time to merit this mercy, which we will all need soon, is now.

–

If we have no love for others in desperate need, then we have no real love for God either.
