El Shaddai and the Destroyer in ancient texts

El Shaddai is translated as God Almighty. The koldrin bible, written by the Egyptians, also describe an “almighty” object sent by God.

Shadad as destroyer

One needs to stop and reflect on what “shaddai” actually means.

It comes from the root word “shadad.”

This gives a more explicit interpretation of the word “almighty.”

When reading how the “destroyer” is used, and what happens when the destroyer comes, it gives a graphic picture of terror and devastation in its path.

El Shaddai is a prominent name for Israel’s God, when YHVH or Adonai is not used.

Mezzuahs have this name on them, which go on doorposts to bless and protect the home or building.

Jeremiah speaks of the destroyer:

One gets the impression that God wants to send a terrifying message, that He is not a weak God, but a powerful one.

While his mercies are new every morning, his terror is beyond human comprehension, when his wrath is stirred.

This is the message the God of Israel sends to his enemies.

“Do not touch his city, or destruction will come to any who come against it”

He is to be feared. He can destroy.

Many do not have the fear of God in them, and they think they can do anything they want and God will tolerate it.

It is a fearsome thing to fall in to the wrath of Almighty God.

Other identities for the destroyer:

The Destroyer is also known today as Wormwood, Nibiru, Planet X and Nemesis. 

There are also troubling prophetic correlations to the future predictions of Mother Shipton’s "Fiery Dragon" and the "Red Comet" warning of the Mayan Calendar 2012. 

While these future predictions are uncertain at best, is it possible for us to know about the Destroyer’s previous flybys with a great degree of certainty.

The American Indians also speak of a Red Kachina, a great red star which will come in the later days to purify the earth, and start life over.

Other Names: Apophis, the Destroyer.

Patron of: evil and darkness.

Appearance: a great serpent or crocodile.

Description: Apep was the ancient spirit of evil and destruction who dwelled in eternal darkness. Every day he would attempt to devour the Sun Boat of Ra as it sailed the heavens. Set’s original role was to battle Apep and keep him from destroying the boat. Occasionally, Apep would succeed, and the world would be plunged into darkness (a solar eclipse?). But Set and his companion Mehen would cut a hole in Apep’s belly to allow the Sun Boat to escape.

Apep commanded an army of demons that plagued mankind. Only by putting faith in the gods of light could people defeat the demons.

Every year, a ritual called the "Banishing of Apep" would be held by the priests of Ra.

They would take an effigy of Apep and in the center of the temple they would pray that all the wickedness in Egypt would go into the effigy.

Then they would trample the effigy, crush it, beat it with sticks, pour mud on it, and eventually burn and destroy it.

In this way, the power of Apep would be curtailed for another year.

Any connection between the bible use of the word destroyer, and the use in other ancient texts?

(1). No. Not in the Old Testament. There is no space object mentioned.

One possible exception – a burning mountain:

The word “shachath” is used, not “shadad.”

Jer 51:25 Behold, I [am] against thee, O destroying ⁴⁸⁸⁹ mountain ²⁰²², saith ⁵⁰⁰² the LORD ³⁰⁶⁸, which destroyest⁷⁸⁴³ all the earth ⁷⁷⁶: and I will stretch out ⁵¹⁸⁶ mine hand ³⁰²⁷ upon thee, and roll thee down ¹⁵⁵⁶ from the rocks ⁵⁵⁵³, and will make ⁵⁴¹⁴ thee a burnt⁸³¹⁶ mountain ²⁰²².

One’s first impression is that the mountain which would destroy all the earth might be a heavenly object that fell from the sky, and be similar to or he same as Wormwood described in Revelation 8.

However, this verse is mentioned after the fall of Babylon described previously in the same chapter.

And it is clear it does not come from the sky, as it “rolls down from the rocks” instead.

This sounds more like a burning volcano, that slides down the mountain as it erupts.

The mountain to be destroyed ( in context) seems to represent Babylon, who destroyed all the earth, and is now to be judged itself.

(2) Wormwood may be similar to the Destroyer mentioned by ancient texts, but it has limited destructive effects.

It is a “star,” most likely a comet of some sort, that falls into the sea and destroys 1/3 of the waters.

What the Koldrin Bible of the Egyptians describe is much larger than that, which many call Nibiru, or Planet X today.

Nibiru is reported to be 4x the size of Jupiter, so any contact with the earth would destroy ALL the earth, not 1/3 of it.

The only way Wormwood could fit this scenario is if a piece of material from Nibiru broke off and fell to earth, as wormwood, into the sea.

My impression is that Nibiru was not mentioned in the Old Testament, because there was no experience with it.

Noah’s flood was due to water breaking out of the depths of the earth, and does not fit the earthquake and burn scenario of Nibiru. Earthquakes may have played a role in Noah’s flood, but they were not mentioned as a major event.

God said he would not destroy the earth with water any more, but would use fire the next time.

Comparing all the ancient texts

–

If the Koldrin bible has any truth in it about the Destroyer, to be consistent with the bible, it would be predicting a future event, not recalling a past one, which will be repeated. The passages cited from the Koldrin bible does speak in the future tense, not past tense.

If it is accurate, and inconsistent with the bible, then maybe it is supplemental historical, or scientific, information omitted by God from the biblical text for a special reason, known only to Him.

The Book of Revelation mentions 7 thunders but does not describe what they are. Obviously, this information is withheld, and open to speculation . The destroyer may be part of this withheld content. Or, maybe not.

Apep the dark destroyer who attacks the sun is a legend based on some sort of human experience, or it is just a human effort to explain eclipses.

It is however, associated with a serpent, which is interesting, since Satan in Revelation is portrayed as a serpent / dragon.

Is it be possible that APEP is also a planet under the initial control of Satan, but to be destroyed, or used, by God?

Conclusion

When God brings judgment, it can come in different forms. He himself is El Shaddai, which is translated “God, my destroyer.”

El Shaddai is the avenger of Israel, and anyone who harms Israel will experience the wrath of El Shaddai.

Destruction can also come through acts of nature, enemies, animals, etc, which are all ultimately under the control of El Shaddai.

For those who do not take God’s wrath seriously, and consider Him tolerant of sin and evil, it will be a rude awakening with the Wrath of God hits this earth .

While we still have time, we should repent of our sins. If we are so ignorant as to not even know what is a sin, and what is not, we should make a vigorous effort to find out.

We are too corrupted in the flesh for our own works to save us.

Only the righteousness of Jesus who covers us when we turn to him, will save us.

I urge all those who are slack in their faith, and those who are not saved yet by the blood of Jesus, to pursue their eternal destiny with a serious mind.

No sin can stand in the presence of God. We must be pure.

We must repent of all sin, and turn away from it.

No excuses!

Otherwise, we will be destroyed.
