Whole Armor of God Prayer

Troubled times need strong prayers.

Introduction

Many posts are referencing their faith and offering constructive counter measures to current unsettling events.

Some people think our current social and political unrest will not be resolved in the best interests of the general public, and those who identify themselves as conservatives.

There’s the CDC and NIAID “guidelines” to mitigate COVID19, implemented by Federal, State governments, regardless of the Bill of Rights, impacting us in many ways. Mandatory uses of face masks, restrictions on the assembly of Believers, contact tracing measures, forthcoming vaccinations and more are testing many of us.

On top of these issues, some finance professionals identify a forthcoming economic/financial crisis as a result the collective response by Federal and State governments, Fed Reserve and businesses to COVID19. These financial professions suggest the Greatest Depression is now just around the corner. This potential event can add more uncertainty and stress.

All of the above led me to send Marianne an updated Armor of God Prayer post. We are to put on the whole, complete, full Armor of God and now seems to the time to suit up with confidence.

The Armor of God took on more value when I recalled the Word was God (John 1:1-14) and that the Word is Christ our Lord. Then, I studied each piece of the Armor. Each piece became more acute and more meaningful. It was after reading, studying, meditating upon the Word that I could proclaim with confidence the Sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:7).

Proclamation of the Word is essential, which isn’t common practice. The Word is a Spiritual Sword. How do you use such a Sword? I believe we apply verses in verbal petitions and prayers.

Our spiritual enemy shrinks and wither when they literally hear us speak, proclaiming or reading aloud Scriptures. They know we recognize the power of the Word (Hebrews 4:12). Yes, there are spiritual beings listening and watching. Satan can’t be everywhere at the same moment. He’s busy governing his principalities and powers of darkness and influencing a select number of people.

Please, don’t just read over the Scripture references I’ve offered within this prayer. Search and study those Scriptures. Maybe search out other passages that you see fit better or gives you an encouraging message. Such an engaging study and seeking passages that identify your confidence in Him would be a great spiritual benefit.

Look up the Armor of Light (Romans 13:12). Consider writing out a prayer of your own. It may take several hours over a few days.

Blessings to you as you read, study, meditate upon and pray the Word.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full Armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full Armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm” (Ephesians 6:10-13, NASB).

Armor of God Prayer

Almighty and most merciful God, I humbly ask You of Your great goodness, to restrain the workers of inequity with which I contend (Psalm 57:1-6).

I stand upon the Rock of my salvation (Psalm 19:14, 62:2). Grant me complete and well suited spiritual Armor (Ephesians 6:10-13) to advance and pull down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4).

I confidently take the belt of Truth. Thank You Lord for your victory; Satan cannot stand against the bold application of Truth, which is Your Word (John 17:17).

Thank you for the breastplate of righteousness, which is faith and love (1st Thessalonians 5:8-9). I embrace that perfect righteousness, which is the Blood of Jesus (DNA) – for my righteousness is but filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). The Blood of Jesus spiritually covers me (1 John 1:7). Therefore, Satan must retreat before the righteousness of my Lord (Proverbs 18:10) because he is defeated (1 John 3:8).

Eagerly, I lift up the shield of faith against all the blazing missiles that Satan fires at me. I know that my Lord is my shield (Psalm 18:30-50).

I put on Your spiritual helmet to cover my mind. I recognize that my mind is a target of Satan’s lies and fear monger ways. I cover my mind with the helmet of salvation, which is my hope.

“But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation” (1st Thessalonians 5:8).

I choose to think and meditate upon Truth.

“For I am not given a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind” (2nd Timothy 1:7).

Lord, I confirm this truth:

I am not given a spirit of fear. Fear is not of God. I am given a Spirit of power and a Spirit of love and a Spirit of sound mind by the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5).

With faith I lift up the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17).

Lord, my feet are to be covered by the Gospel of peace so I pursue things which make for peace: helping, edifying, building up fellow Believers (Romans 14:19).

This is the Gospel of peace ~

“having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).

Please give me these spiritual shoes. We read the God of peace will soon crush Satan under my feet (Romans 16:20).

Heavenly Father, I put on Your Armor with gratitude and with praise (Psalm 57:7-11). Lots of praise (Psalm 103).

You have provided all I need (Psalm 23). Your Kingdom come. Your will be done on earth, and within me as it is in Heaven.

In the Name of Your Son, my Lord and Savior I pray.

Now, with the full Armor of God and confidence in His word I proclaim:

Jesus is my Lord! By the Blood of Jesus Christ, I’m seen righteous before Almighty God in Heaven even now and for eternity (Hebrews 10:10-23). Thank you Lord.

I declare that I’m a child of Father God, blessed by Him who created me (John 1:11-13). Thank you, Father God.

I declare that He who is in me is greater than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4)! Thank you, Lord.

Holy Spirit, lead me into all Truth, guiding my prayer thoughts and words (John 16:13). I give thanks to you Lord for the Holy Spirit (John 15:26-27).

Thank you Father God that no weapon the enemy forms against me shall prosper, because You have put all things under my Lord’s feet (Ephesians 1:22) and I am one with Christ (John 17:11).

My Lord graciously gives me the authority, in Your name, to stomp upon the enemy (Luke 10:18-20). The God of peace will soon crush Satan under my feet (Romans 16:20).

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ, and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled” (2 Corinthians 10:4-6, KJ21).

Some put their trust in armaments and possessions, but I remember and put my trust in the LORD my God, everlasting Father. Blessed be the name of the LORD (Psalm 20). Amen
