I hear predictions of either flood or fire that will destroy the world.

What does the bible say?

2012 is our next Y2K.

Will it be a disaster, or are most predictions just speculation?

This shows potential flooding in world countries as a result of rise of ocean levels. Put your own country in and take a look. Green = high ground, black = flooding. The number of inches can be added in, and flooding estimated.

Two things are clear:

First, the pole shift is slow and imperceptible to humans except through the eyes of very accurate satellite global positioning systems.

Second, the pole shift will only accomplish 1-10 degrees (100-1000 km) of total motion over millions of years.

You can read online that the eruption of a large volcano in the polar regions, the impact of a meteorite or the melting of an ice sheet may cause a pole shift.

These processes might cause very very small pole shifts. The only real way to drive a large pole shift of 1000s of kms is to move very large mass anomalies around within Earth’s mantle (under the influence of plate tectonics

Some people confuse magnetic reversals with pole shifts.

However, a magnetic reversal is a 180 degree flip in the polarity of the magnetic field related to fluid motions in Earth’s iron outer core, and has nothing to do with motion of the continents or pole shifts.

When you read online that a pole shift will lead to massive floods, what you should imagine is that on the time scale of millions of years, some continents will experience 10s of meters of sea level rise (i.e., flooding), while other continents (the ones that move toward higher latitude) will experience 10s of meters of sea level fall.

Again, this advance or retreat of shorelines would be imperceptible to humans because it occurs so slowly (even though we consider this type of change fast relative to many geological processes).

Plate tectonics moves continents around relative to one another (rather than all together) at rates between 1-10 cm per year, and has achieved rates up to 20 cm per year in the past.

Therefore, we view the idea that a pole shift could be fast (e.g., 1-1000 years) and catastrophic (e.g., big floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, etc…) as far-fetched, without any observational or theoretical basis.

Even Einstein, who communicated with Hapgood and wrote a supportive introduction to Hapgood’s book, had enough intuition to recognize that pole shifts were unlikely to happen very quickly.

Nuclear weapons are quite different from regular weapons because of the huge amount of explosive energy they can put out and the different kinds of effects they make, like high temperatures and nuclear radiation.

A cloud of nuclear radiation travels from the epicenter of the explosion, causing an impact to life forms even after the heat waves have ceased.

The radiation can cause genetic mutation, radiation poisoning, and death.

Fire from meteors and asteroids

The size of meteors varies greatly. The smallest ones are no larger than a particle of sand. The biggest ones reach the size of a boulder. The biggest meteorite weighed 132,000 lbs. It fell in Hoba West in South Africa.

Asteroids are a class of small Solar System bodies in orbit around the Sun. Objects in the main asteroid belt vary greatly in size, from almost 1000 kilometres for the largest down to rocks just tens of metres across.

The sizes of meteors that hit the planet are very small. Every hour, one million meteors hit the Earth’s atmosphere. Less than 160 get into the atmosphere. The biggest ones to actually hit the surface are 50 cm.

Once a year, a 4 meter meteorite might hit. A 20 meter asteroid hits the Earth every 100 years. Every 2 million years or so, a 2 km asteroid will hit the Earth.

One of the most well known meteors is the Peekskill Meteorite which hit on Oct 9, 1992. The meteor covered a path of 800 km. A fragment had a mass of 27 lbs.

Then there are outcomes predicted based on

partially known, or unknown, events, whose

outcome cannot really be known until it happens.

Nibiru / planet X

This is a planetary object that is orbiting around in space and will soon come near the earth.

The theory is that this close alignment with earth and some other planets will cause a global earthquake and will result in flooding of many areas.

We do not know how big this object is.

Some say Elenin is Nibiru, and that is estimated to only be 3-4 km wide.

Recall that the moon, which is closer to earth, is over 12,000 km wide and it does not hurt us.

The sun is much bigger than that, and does not shake us.

What needs to be considered is that, so far, even large earthquakes have not flooded entire countries, or continents.

So what will be its true effect?

If this is based on something that happened in the past, then the world would already be flooded or burned.

So, this is only a prediction, but based on what?. Who told them this?

Aliens?

Another myth states that the Hopi descended to Earth from Alien life.

The Earthlings were set up in underground caves (3 caves ) and left to procreate.

The Alien project was so successful that the Cave people overpopulated the underground world and were forced to learn to survive in the harsher climates on the surface.

Mother Nature will force humanity back into a cave, or warring bodies will destroy the surface world, and the only refuge will be in a cave.

The Earthlings have access through prayer and meditation to spiritual guides called Alo.

It sounds like we were intended to produce a work force for the aliens.

We are now into the Seventh Day of the Mayan Calendar, which began on Nov. 3, 2010. 

This is the last Day of the calendar and will run until Oct. 28, 2011. 

According to Carl Calleman, Mayan cosmologist, this is the true end date of the Mayan Calendar as opposed to Dec. 21, 2012. 

New Age channels say that the cosmic energies that are coming in will continue to affect us physically, as well as the planet, in preparation for the tipping point to Ascension.

I assume the Ascension is the New Age version of the rapture. We should run into the arms of our alien rescuers.

So, this time is more about “energy” changes as the world economy and society collapse.

What does the Bible say?

–

No more destruction by global flood

When the flood of Noah was over, God made a promise to never destroy the world again by flood.

The rainbow in the sky was a sign of his covenant with those that trust in Him.

Gen 9:11   And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

Gen 9:13   I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

Isa 54:9 ¶ For this [is as] the waters of Noah unto me: for [as] I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

Isa 54:10   For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

This does not mean, however, that there may be local flooding in places.

Revelation indicates the seas will be affected, but flooding is not mentioned.

The seas turn to blood when hail, fire, blood and stars fall into them.

It implies that sea life dies, not human life, although human life is affected by the contaminated seas.

Destruction by earthquake

Isa 24:17   Fear, and the pit, and the snare, [are] upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.

Isa 24:18   And it shall come to pass, [that] he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.

Isa 24:19   The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.

Isa 24:20   The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

Hag 2:6 ¶ For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it [is] a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry [land];

Hag 2:7   And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

When does this happen?

Isa 24:23   Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before his ancients gloriously.

The heavens involved also at this time

Isa 34:4   And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling [fig] from the fig tree.

Rev 6:13   And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

Rev 6:14   And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

Rev 8:5   And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast [it] into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

Rev 8:12 ¶ And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Rev 16:18   And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great.

Destruction by fire

Isa 34:8 ¶ For [it is] the day of the LORD’S vengeance, [and] the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

Isa 34:9   And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.

Isa 34:10   It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.

Isa 24:6   Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

Isa 47:14   Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: [there shall] not [be] a coal to warm at, [nor] fire to sit before it.

Joe 2:30   And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

Joe 2:31   The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

Rev 8:11   And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Rev 9:17   And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses [were] as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

Rev 9:18   By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

Rev 11:13   And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

Rev 16:8 ¶ And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.

Rev 18:8   Therefore shall her [Babylon] plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong [is] the Lord God who judgeth her.

Rev 18:9 ¶ And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

Rev 18:18   And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city is] like unto this great city!

Conclusion

While there may be local flooding events in the last days, there should be no catastrophic global flooding, from what I understand.

A pole shift, which appears to be a concern, would not produce quick massive changes, according to one scientist.

But how does Elenin/Nibiru/ Planet X affect the poles and stability of the earth as it passes? Is it a very large, hot star which could affect the magnetic poles of the earth and by sheer gravitational pull, tilt the earth and cause devastation? Will this cause extreme flooding also? I do not know. I am told it will.

According to the Bible, God’s judgment will come in the form of earthquakes and fire.

The fire appears to be coming from the sun and other heavenly objects, as well as volcanic eruptions due to earthquakes.

I can also see it in the form of nuclear blasts, if there is another world war.

There is no proof that all will occur in 2012, either. So we must watch and wait.

We must remember that God judges the righteous differently than he does the wicked.

So, if you are wicked, abandon your ways, trust in God, and Jesus as Savior, and live a righteous life.
