Fire in My Bones

clip_image002

How hot are you?

Jeremiah could not hold back the words that burned in his heart.

The words were alive, and compelled him to speak – to the point that they burned to his very bones.

God had touched him, and unless he spoke out what was given him, the words would consume him.

Jer 20:9   … But [his word] was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not [stay].

What was happening to Jeremiah during this time of fire?

He was defamed and attacked by enemies, as well as friends

Jer 20:10   For I heard the defaming of many, fear on every side. Report, [say they], and we will report it. All my familiars watched for my halting, [saying], Peradventure he will be enticed, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.

He was persecuted, and put to shame.

Jer 20:11 ¶ But the LORD [is] with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: [their] everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten.

He was tried by God

Jer 20:12   But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, [and] seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.

He had felt cursed since the day he was born, due to many sorrows

Jer 20:14 ¶ Cursed [be] the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.

Jer 20:18   Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labour and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

How does a time of trial affect you?

Need for Fire

These are not simple times.

The time is soon coming where dead words will not help us.

The time is soon coming where weak faith will get us left behind.

The time is soon coming when our heart will be broken, and our lives will be torn.

The time is coming when friends and enemies will attack us.

A time of persecution is soon coming.

Will we be ready?

Where will our focus be?

Will we be afraid, or fearless?

Will we fail, or will we have victory?

How does the Word of God affect you?

If you have no spiritual connection to the Word of God, it is dead inside of you.

If you can put down the Bible and feel nothing after reading it, you are disconnected from the Holy Spirit, who is the Fire of the Word.

True fire will draw you to the Word.

True Fire will consume you.

True Fire will have you thinking of the Word day and night.

True Fire will have you in tears, because it has touched your heart.

True Fire will have you on your knees.

True Fire will compel you to express what has been placed in your heart.

It cannot be delayed.

There is no rest until you speak it out.

There is no rest until you can get others to understand the message that is urgent within you.

You cannot sleep until you tell somebody.

It is alive, and has to spread and grow, and enflame others with passion.

Fire is total commitment, under the worst of circumstances.

clip_image004

Will we be spared, or left to the time of tribulation?

Jesus once commented that the fire and passion for him was lacking in the church of the Laodiceans, and apathy was something to be repented of.

Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Rev 3:18   I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou may be rich; and white raiment, that thou may be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou may see.

Will people repent in time, of this apathy and deadness?

What does Jesus want of us?

We are to keep (not ignore, or disobey) His Word. While we may appear weak in the eyes of the world, we can be strong in Him, and uplift His name.

Rev 3:8   I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

The promise of deliverance from the time of tribulation only goes to those who are filled with His Word, and obey Him.

Rev 3:10   Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

clip_image006

Conclusion:

If you are not on fire for His Word, pray for this fire to enter you, and consume you.

Do not be lukewarm, or cold.

Be on fire for Him who gave His life for you, and He will be faithful to you, to preserve you through trials.

  1. Amen! Amen! Amen! The Word was made flesh. To encounter the Word is to encounter the living Christ by way of the living Holy Spirit. Christianity is not a practiced tradition. Christianity is a LIFE AND DEATH decision!!!

    Again, Marianne, Amen!

    Carolyn

  2. That is absolutely beautiful..

  3. Good word! Keep it up! I send an angel of fire to you!

  4. “How does a time of trial affect you?”

    Marianne,

how can one even answer that question, especially when sufferings are beyond ones justification?

    Except:

“But now, O LORD, Thou art our Father; we are the clay, and Thou our potter, and we all are the work of Thy hand.” (Is. 64:7)

  5. Excellent and refreshing!
I arrived at the Gate of Holy Jerusalem saying …
‘O God you have broken every one of my bones.’
    Yes but …
‘Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder!!’

And such is the Baptism of Fire given by God.
Yes we are the clay and He is God.

    RESTORATION

The days of the Gentiles are almost over. God has given us plenty of warning
that the Spirit will not forever strive with the rebellious. But before this
generation comes under the retribution of almighty God, a great restoration is
    prophesied.

“And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the
cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent
    among you” (Joel 2:25).

The psalmist David said the righteous shall “be like a tree planted by the
rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit…with leaves that do not
wither…and whatever he does shall prosper” (see Psalm 1:3). But that promise
is only to those who have totally separated themselves from the wicked, and who
refuse to walk in the way of sinners. It is only for those who are devoted
students of God’s Word, meditating in it day and night.

“The ungodly are not so,” said David (v. 4). They become weak and withered,
blown about by every wind and wave of doctrine. The compromisers are likened to
withered trees, diseased and corrupted with every conceivable kind of worm.

This is a picture of many professing Christians in God’s house today. They
neglect their Bible reading; they become too preoccupied to pray and build
themselves up in the faith; they become cozy with the ungodly and take their
    seat among the scornful.

An army of cankerworms has been eating away at the lives of multitudes of
backslidden Christians. Outwardly they appear as trees planted by the
water—but inwardly they are corrupted, weak, diseased. They no longer bear
fruit! They are drying up spiritually. The cankerworm did its destructive work
with the bark of the tree. So it is with sin—it is eating away deep within
those who have strayed from the presence of the Lord.

God has told us how he is going to bring about this great restoration. First,
he will pour out his Holy Spirit in such abundant ways, it will bring health
and strength back to all the trees in his forest. The worm of sin will begin to
lose its power as God’s people get back to Bible reading. A powerful revelation
of the Lord’s new covenant will make God’s people as bold as lions.
Yes—believe it—a revival of spiritual strength and divine health is going
to be poured out from on high.

THE SPIRIT AND POWER OF ELIJAH

The Old Testament closes out with this glorious prophecy: “Behold, I will send
you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the
Lord: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart
of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse”
    (Malachi 4:5-6).

Jesus said of John, “If you will receive it, this is Elijah, which was for to
come” (Matthew 11:14). What Christ was saying is, “John the Baptist has the
spirit and power of Elijah upon him—if you could just see it.” We are told
the angel of the Lord prophesied to Zachariah that his son John would “go forth
before the Lord in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the
fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make
ready a people prepared for the Lord” (Luke 1:17).

I believe Malachi’s prophecy is for today also. I believe that once again God
is going to put upon many of his chosen servants the spirit and power of
Elijah. And these men and women of God are going to be mightily used to bring
about a restoration of families. Divorces will be canceled! Children will be
convicted of their rebellion and be restored in love to their parents.

This prophecy is being fulfilled before our eyes—right now. In a Texas town,
an unassuming young pastor began to pray for the salvation of the youth in the
local schools. God anointed him with the dynamic spirit and power of Elijah and
not only have hundreds in his local school been saved, but the restoration is
spreading to schools wherever he goes. Not hundreds but thousands of high
school students are being convicted of their drugs, alcohol, sex and rebellion.
Young people are hurrying home from outreaches to make up with their parents.
They have been confessing deep hatred, but now they weep and repent! This will
spread all through the land because God has promised to restore parents and
    children.

Because of what I see coming, I am so excited I can hardly write these words.
Unknown, unassuming, humble young men and women of God are being miraculously
touched and anointed. They have been given a supernatural mission to “Go
forth—and restore! For the day of the Lord has come. The cankerworms of drugs
and alcohol are no longer permitted to eat away at the life of the youth. God
    will destroy the cankerworms.”

  8. Wonderful written. The truth spoken to God’s people. Let the word burn in our heart’s oh Lord. Let it consume us.

  9. What does Na Nach Uman mean? I like this music. I’ve been playing it over and over.

  10. Here’s another somg I listened over and over again to. I didn’t know what it meant either. I tried to look it up, but I wasn’t successful. What does Bei’olkim mean?

  11. I shared this song with others for Passover. Both of the above videos had to do with the work place. I’m curious to hear what Bei’olkim means. I like this video too. I thought this was really cleverly made.

  12. To many people today are turning away from God, faith, putting their attention and talents to other things. Church membership in many groups is down. Some churches have turned into community centers with activities for the family and have turned away from their original reason for existing — to spread the Gospel, to feed the sheep.

  13. I ran across some really cool Israeli Music for Jesus. I feel so blessed to run across these You Tubes. I hope you get blessed from them too. I don’t search for them. It’s amazing.

  14. This song has a Salsa flavor to it. Israelis come from all over the world and they bring the culture and the language with them from that country.

  15. I’m glad to see they are posting their videos and not worrying about the persecution they may encounter. There is consequences for doing this.

  16. I wonder what Ki Ko Ahav means?

  17. Praise God. I’ve been waiting to see this! The Believers are increasing in Israel.

  18. I wonder if it’s the Russian Influence?

  19. This song has more of a middle east flavor.

  20. They are showing their faces. Good! You can’t witness on the street in Israel. It’s Against the Law. There’s persecution there, believe it or not.

  21. This is so cool. Does Gavriel know about the web site. The Pickins were slim when I went to Israel.

  22. If I was Jewish I would be living in Israel. What’s the fastest way to get those Ultra-orhodox Jews to move to Israel? Persecution? No!!!!!!!!!

Messianic Jews. It’s up to you Messianic Jews. Jealousy!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Ultra-Orthodox relgiious Jews are the ones who have to call Jesus back to rescue them during the tribulation.

` So Jesus will not come back to the earth until the Jews and the Jewish leaders ask Him to come back. For just as the Jewish leaders lead the nation to the rejection of the Messiahship of Jesus, they must some day lead the nation to the acceptance of the Messiahship of Jesus.[5]
Dr.David Cooper echoes Dr. Fruchtenbaum’s understanding when he says, “Since Jesus came in the name of the Lord, and since He will not return until Israel says,’Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord,’ it is clear that thepeople of Israel will see and recognize that Jesus was and is their trueMessiah.”[6] The last few verses of Matthew 23 means that judgment was coming in the near future, but, beyond judgment, deliverance and redemption awaits the Jewish nation. Judgment did come in a.d.70 and Matthew 24 speaks of the still future redemption of Israel.

  23. Kitti, Marianne,

    Thanks for the link, I will try to make a contact with them;

    I have to hide my beliefs from everyone around, do you know how hard is that? People whom I know would think I’m insane if I revealed to them that I believe in Jesus;

    But, then I come on Christian site, where people condemn Judaism and Talmud, and that’s something I’m not going to tolerate;

Doesn’t LORD come as a thief in the night?

“Blessed be He Who comes in The Name of The LORD” indeed – OUT OF AWE, FEAR AND HORROR!

    So Kitti, I disagree,

Second Coming doesn’t depend on anyone, as Isaiah says regarding Second Coming:

4 For the day of vengeance that was in My heart, and My year of redemption are come.
5 And I looked, and there was none to help, and I beheld in astonishment, and there was none to uphold; therefore Mine own arm brought salvation unto Me, and My fury, it upheld Me.
    Isaiah Chapter 63

After LORD Jesus revealed Himself, He showed me Golgotha and His Second Coming, of which it is written:
4 And a brightness appeareth as the light; rays hath He at His side; and there is the hiding of His power.
5 Before him goeth the pestilence, and fiery bolts go forth at His feet.
    Habakkuk Chapter 3

It wasn’t a “nice” picture at all, because of Mankind’s sins, because Jesus at the Cross has since liberated us, He will proclaim to them who have rejected His sacrificial death for them that it is now too late to repent, and that the Saviour has now become the Judge, raining down “death and hell” upon unrepentant mankind, just as He had warned:

30 “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven [in the sky]: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
    MATTHEW, Chapter 24

    • Hey Gavriel,

Please describe to us what you saw regarding Jesus’ second coming?

While driving the other day, I was remembering Matthew 24…and then it occured to me…”then shall appear “the SIGN”….I am wondering if this is one of the eclipses that Mark Biltz is referring to as they occur on Jewish HOlyh Days 2 years in a row! Mark said that “sign” means SIGNAL….hmmmm

  24. Gavriel;
Here the You Tube that goes with the link. It’s important to connect up with other believers. Awesome.

  26. It’s really strange…

Because, I think that Jesus is literally God of Israel, YHWH of Old Testament, that’s how Holy Spirit revealed Him to me, but most Christians don’t believe that…

  27. Gavriel;
This is a new Believer to me. I ran across him on the internet. His name is Aviad Cohen. He has an amazing testimony. I heard his testimony on the Sid Roth’s program, but he was also on TBN’s show. I love testimonies, because everyone of them is so different. He was a Jewish Rap Star. He got into Orthodox Judaism, but it wasn’t meeting his needs. Would you believe he went to a video store and bought a copy of Mel Gibson’s movie “The Passion”. Personally I didn’t like the movie. I didn’t think any of the people looked Jewish. I thought it was gory and unfeeling. My favorite has always been “King of Kings”. Aviad saw that movie through Jewish Eyes. Isn’t that amazing? No one told him to get the movie. He wanted to on his own. I think movies have a big influence on people. This is what Dave Hunt has to say about Mel Gibson’s movie:

That Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ received almost universalpraise as “biblically accurate” from solid evangelical leaders is anotherindication of apostasy that has crept into the best pulpits unawares. In fact,it was almost all unbiblical. Christ stomping on a huge serpent slithering into Gethsemane, and Satan tempting him there; Pilate’s wife giving linens to thetwo Marys to wipe up Christ’s blood; Jesus knocked off a bridge on the way tothe cross, where he dangles from a chain and confronts Judas hiding beneath it;Saint Veronica giving her veil to Christ to wipe his face, and the image of his face remaining on it as the first icon; a raven plucking out the eye of one thief on an adjoining cross; the endless beatings by Roman soldiers, giving theimpression that Christ suffered more physically than any other person, and thathis physical sufferings (which could only condemn us) paid for our sins; not a hint that “the Lord laid on him the iniquity of us all it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul anoffering for sin”[10]-allof this and more was unbiblical, much of it from the visions of a mystic nun ordevices from the imagination of the director to arouse emotions. Nor did anyoneseem disturbed that a sinful man was pretending to be the One who declared, “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father,”[11]and whom Paul described as “God manifest in the flesh.”[12]

I just think it’s interesting that God can reach people in so many ways.

I always saw Jesus as Jewish and I never held the Jewish people responsible for his death, because he was resurrected. It was a heroes story. He triumphed. That’s why when I became a Christian at 16 years old I wanted to go to a synagogue, because Jesus taught in one.

You have a unique story too. You should share it.

Here’s Aviad’s testiomony. Sid Roth dramatizes his testimony more on his program , but the second You Tube has some problems with the sound and I wanted to share another program Aviad was on.

    Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. Marianne:
I had to read their writing for myself. These people are crazy and dangerous. This isn’t going to happen. Argument is over.

Friends, there will be no peace in the Middle East until their is no state of Israel.

The Torah cannot be violated. Our task in exile cannot be fulfilled by trying to end exile by human agitations. Nor can our hopes for redemption be realized in the Israeli state.

Of course immediately part of the solution is, we’d like to see the West Bank and Gaza settlements dismantled. The people living there must leave as soon as is humanly possible.

But, this is only one part of the solution. Yes, the immediate decision in keeping with common sense, is to begin a Palestinian state. But these solutions are only for the interim and only a part of the solution.

The true Torah solution, the key to peace is the immediate return of Palestine to the Palestinians in its entirety including the Temple Mount and Jerusalem.

This would, of course, include a full right of return for all Palestinian refuges That is what elementary justice demands. This is the path of the Torah and of common sense.

The Jewish people have many mitzvos (commandments) to pursue in their exile. Fighting and killing Palestinian children are not among them.

Of course, today, millions of Jews reside in Palestine. Whether some, all or none of them might stay under Palestinian rule is, of course, up to the land’s rightful rulers, the Palestinians.

This will inevitably begin the process of true peace with justice and healing between the Palestinian people and the Jewish people.

In the meantime, though, given that at present many Jews living in the Holy Land are victims of Zionist propaganda what path should be pursued?
For our part the obligation remains steady. It is to educate the Jewish community about the doctrinal errors and practical evils of Zionism.

It is to join our Palestinian cousins in protest against the evils of Zionism. It is to pursue peace with all men and all nations. It is to practice our faith. It is to worship the Creator with humility, with modesty and piety.
But let us go a step further and examine what the impact of Jewish anti Zionism might be on the Islamic world. First, it is important both practically and morally that Palestinian and general Islamic ideology not confuse Zionism and Judaism and by so doing leave themselves vulnerable to the charge of anti – Semitism.

Further, it could well prove beneficial to the Palestinian cause if they would publicize thier good relations with anti Zionist Jews thus undercutting the
stereotype of them in the Zionist dominated media as bigots and baseless haters.

This coalition of anti – Zionist Jews and Palestinians who see the inhumanity of Zionism might well become quite a moral force for good in the world.

In any event, let us resolve to leave here this evening with our mutual moral compasses set right. Let us understand that Torah Jewry is in no way an antagonist of the Palestinian people in particular or of the Islamic
    world in general.

The hour is late. The civilian death toll mounts daily. Innocents on all sides suffer.

May it be the Creator’s Will that the state of Israel be peacefully dismantled speedily in our days, that Jew and Palestinian live yet in peace with each other around the world and in the Holy Land and that speedily in our days all mankind may merit the advent of Divine Redemption where G-d’s Kingdom will be accepted.

    • There is nothing in the Torah granting the land to non-Jews.

There has never been a Palestinian land or government, or a Palestinian people united under one rule.

The people who call themselves Palestinians came as refugees from arab lands who rejected them. They came to Israel hoping to find work with the Israelis.

There never has been a Palestine officially.

The ottoman Turks had the land for 400 years, then the British took over. No one lived there. It was a desolate land…the only places that flourished were farmed by Jews.
If anything the Jews that have been there for 4000 years are the real Palestinians. The Arabs are immigrants there.

The Palestinians have the mentality of….what is yours is mine…..they have not worked for anything…they have not paid for anything…..their leaders spend foreign aid on themselves…..they blow themselves up to get what they want…because drama and lies work well for them…..

they should all be deported somewhere in Jordan, which is the land originally allocated for them by the UN….

but no…they want the land that Israelis worked hard to cultivate…..the buildings that Israelis built…the resources that Israelis developed…..and they want the Israelis dead.

The Palestinians are barbarians……criminals…they are entitled to nothing.

  29. I forgot the web site:

    http://www.nkusa.org/aboutus/zionism/index.cfm

  30. Who is a Jew?

  31. Go to You Tube to view. The Embedding is disabled. It’s a good video.

  32. Here’s a video of these Ultra Orthodox Jews in Israel who have dual American citzenship treat Israeli believers in Israel. It is confusing. It’s hard to separate all the groups. Then you have this other group Neturei Karta who dress just like them and are so sympathetic to the Palestinian cause.

    • It is true what the older woman said. They are operating out great fear. Over the centuries, Christians have persecuted the Jews. Now the Jews see their own people turning their backs on Judaism, and converting to Christianity. They are considered traitors to their own people. These Jews do not see the love of Christianity. Only its threat and a danger to the integrity of the Jewish state of Israel.

      • Why should there be any difference between Lubavitcher Messianic movement and Christian Messianic movement? But, first get respect while last get scorned – which can be explained easily really: Lubavitcher Rabbis is not threat to the Satan, Yeshua is, thus devil inspires these Orthodox Jews against Messianic Christians;

Don’t think that I’m having delusions, but I know that devil is BIG in Israel, many people sell their souls beginning from youngsters of Tel-Aviv nightlife scene (satanists which I encountered) and ending with religious people…sometimes, when walking in the streets of Tel-Aviv, I get warning from the Holy Spirits – like last week when I saw pictures of a missing child hanging all over the streets, Holy Spirit moved me and in despair I wanted to start to cry – I got the smell of scent in my nose indicating that this child was molested and sacrificed to the devil like many others in Israel…

        • gavriel said:I get warning from the Holy Spirits – like last week when I saw pictures of a missing child hanging all over the streets, Holy Spirit moved me and in despair I wanted to start to cry – I got the smell of scent in my nose indicating that this child was molested and sacrificed to the devil like many others in Israel…”

…the HS will lead us into all truth….sometimes this is more than we can stomach! I have been feeling alot of grief coming from the HS lately…the last few weeks…anyone else? I feel He is deeply saddened and angered over everything that is happening. And G-D see it ALL!!!!! We are only given a portion of the truth and this in and of itself is horrifying!

It never occured to me that Satan would be so prevalent in Israel….but of course this would make sense with his time being incredibly short…

        • Gavriel and Lyndsey

Gavriel is a sensitive to what hurts the heart of God. We hear in the last days that God will also mark his chosen for protection. It is not a physical mark.

Eze 9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

We should all be crying now. I did not know it was that bad in Israel either.

          • Hey Marianne and Gavriel,

Several weeks ago when I was realizing what is going on around us I started to panic-natural response since we ARE human-and in this panic I heard the HS say to me, or rather, bring to my remembrance “you will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked..” Psalm 91.

            • Dead Sea Scrolls, War Scroll, written by faithful warriors who knew the true name of Mashiach Yehoshua:

              (11) The Sons of Light and the forces of Darkness shall fight together to show the strength of God with the roar of a great multitude and the shout of gods and men; a day of disaster. It is a time
              (12) of distress fo[r al]l the people who are redeemed by God. In all their afflictions none exists that is like it, hastening to its completion as an eternal redemption. On the day of their battle against the Kittim,
              (13) they shall g[o forth for] carnage in battle. In three lots the Sons of Light shall stand firm so as to strike a blow at wickedness, and in three the army of Belial shall strengthen themselves so as to force the retreat of the forces
              (14) [of Light. AND WHEN THE] BANNERS OF THE INFANTRY CAUSE THEIR HEARTS TO MELT, THEN THE STRENGTH OF GOD WILL STRENGTHEN THE HE[ARTS OF THE SONS OF LIGHT.] IN THE SEVENTH LOT : THE GREAT HAND OF GOD SHALL OVERCOME
              (15) [Belial and al]l the angels of his dominion, and all the men of [his forces shall be destroyed forever].

As I said this is exactly what is going on in Israel, worshipers of Baal know that Jews have the bitter experience of what happens when you steal divine light via sorcery of sacred cow, so not so many people are willing to sell out to marvelous conveniences of bull sorcery: consider that your genuine happiness is the tradeoff. So instead, knowing that they have little time left, they changed strategy of spiritual seduction to strategy of blackmail – causing physical suffering, destruction of comfort and material well-being of a person and his loved ones, including murder, G-d save us all!

  33. Psalm 91

1He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.a

2I will sayb of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

my God, in whom I trust.”

3Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare

    and from the deadly pestilence.

4He will cover you with his feathers,

    and under his wings you will find refuge;

his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

5You will not fear the terror of night,

nor the arrow that flies by day,

6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,

nor the plague that destroys at midday.

7A thousand may fall at your side,

ten thousand at your right hand,

but it will not come near you.

8You will only observe with your eyes

and see the punishment of the wicked.

9If you make the Most High your dwelling—

even the Lord, who is my refuge—

10then no harm will befall you,

no disaster will come near your tent.

11For he will command his angels concerning you

    to guard you in all your ways;

12they will lift you up in their hands,

so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

    13You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;

you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

    14“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;

I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

    15He will call upon me, and I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble,

I will deliver him and honor him.

16With long life will I satisfy him

    and show him my salvation.”

  34. I love testimonies. This is a good one. They are so unique. This guy was a closet Jewish believer for 10 years until he visited Israel. I’ll let you watch it. What a crack up.

  35. Gavreil;
Have you ever seen Jesus dramatized in a Movie? I have to admit I like movies. I just don’t like the influence of the Hollywood movies these days. But someone said once: If it wasn’t for the Hollywood Bible movies some people would have never heard the stories. . The version I like is not translated into English, but this one looks just as good.

I didn’t have a bad experience there. I want the people to know the Lord, that I do. Happy Sukkot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Howard Bass
    BE ER SHEVA
This Pastor is originally from the States and has been in Israel for 24 years. Be er Sheva is a city of 185,000, with 4 Messianic congregations in the city, and he estimates 600 believers. Howard is the only one to do services in Hebrew, the other services are in Russian.

About a year ago, Pastor Howard attempted to have a baptismal service. Approximately 500 ultra-religious Jews invaded his meeting, disrupting the whole service and completely bringing it to a standstill. They then picked up the pastor and threw him into the baptismal tank.

Be er Sheva is not a popular or well-respected area. It is called the drug capital of Israel. Howard not only has the ultra-orthodox religious people trying to shut him down, but also a culture in the city that is very opposed to the gospel. This man also asked that we pray for him, his congregation, as well as his wife and family.

How can we know when God will bring a “suddenly” upon us? It seems that when you are not looking for it or expecting it, there it is. You know that it’s His voice speaking inside you, because everything changes. You can’t get away from it. It won’t go away and it pops up everywhere, (it seems). It’s the Father speaking through others, through events , through His word and then very loudly through that still small voice inside.

It happened that way for me early in 2006. I was watching the Miracle Channel. The director of Messianic Times was being interviewed. In the midst of speaking about the Times, he said one sentence that has compelled me. He said, “There are Messianic Pastors and Congregations that are being persecuted and oppressed in the land of Israel”. The sentence was out of context with the other things he was discussing and after he said it, he went back to his main topic.

As the weeks and months rolled by after I heard that one sentence, I realized that this wasn’t something that was going away. In fact it grew on the inside. I began to investigate and found out that it was true. To what extent I didn’t know but over the next months I learned of hardships that were rampant in the Messianic community in Israel. I had to do something. I just couldn’t stand by and be a sympathetic observer. I formed a small group (3 couples) that became the board. We registered a non profit organization and applied for our tax exempt status. ISRAEL’S PEACE MINISTRIES, was birthed.
At that point we didn’t have anything but direction from God and confirmation from Holy Spirit saying that “this is the way, walk in it”. It became apparent that we needed to go to the land and experience this, first hand. To meet the Pastors and the people; to see and feel (to a small degree) what they have experienced. God continued to confirm His word, even down to the miraculous supply of the finances for the airfare to Israel. What we learned has been truly life changing. Three of us, (the three men from the original couples) went to Israel for a whirlwind, seven day trip. We had contacts, rented a car, and covered 1300 km’s from the north to the south of the Land of Israel.

We visited 16 Pastors and heard their stories. We heard how they had been put out of their rented buildings and actually met in the forest for 24 months until they could secure another building. How pictures of the congregation members were secretly taken and then put on handbills, declaring that these people were dangerous and to have nothing to do with them. We learned of a Pastor in Gaza being shot, and another Pastor in Ramallah being threatened with the same fate. We heard about meetings being disrupted and the Pastor being literally thrown into the baptismal tank. Of Pastors wives being harassed to such an extent that they couldn’t go to the market or shopping. Of Pastors houses being threatened, windows broken, and their meeting places being set on fire…and much more.

We saw men and women giving their lives to declare that Jesus is for the Jew and Gentile alike. They are sold out and will do whatever it takes to see Him lifted up.

When we said that it must be so difficult and that they are going through so much, the response was, “It is a great privilege to serve the Lord”. Not one word of complaint or hardship. I believe this is true Christianity at work in the Land.

Although no one asked for money, ISRAEL’S PEACE MINISTRIES wants to stand alongside them. They have sacrificed everything and have only said, “It would be wonderful to know that people in Canada are praying for us”. They need to have support so they don’t have to work two jobs as well as Pastor the congregation. They need equipment to do the work. They need funding to go to the villages that have no Christians in them, (yes, zero) and start new Messianic works.

We have begun a prayer network. I am in touch with the Pastors in Israel by email. We hear of things almost as they happen. When there is an urgent need or a crisis, we will activate the prayer network. You can be a part of that by e-mailing our prayer centre.

You can contact ISRAEL’S PEACE MINISTRIES at 210 Glendale Ave. Box 231 St. Catharines, ON, L2T 3Y6

The missionary organization MaozIsrael is reporting that the Nachalat Yeshua Messianic congregation, led by Pastor Howard Bass, has lost their lawsuit against Beersheva Chief Rabbi Yehuda Deri and the counter-missionary organization Yad L’Achim. The trial concerned a disturbance which allegedly ensued when members of the Beersheva Orthodox community tried to prevent the baptism of Jews to Christianity by breaking into a messianic church compound.
Last July Jewish Israel reported on the wide and one-sided coverage and publicity given the trial by the Jerusalem Post and Evangelical and messianic Christian news outlets like Pat Robertson’s CBN (the Christian Broadcasting Network). Reportedly Bass had demanded either a public apology for the attack or roughly $400,000 from the defendants.
CBN , Charisma Magazine, and the messianic community were on the edge of their chairs awaiting the outcome of the trial just over a month ago. But now that the verdict is in, there is remarkable silence.
The decision was handed down on May 31 but there have been no major reports, as of yet, in the mainstream press or major Christian media outlets. Jewish Israel has written to the Editors of the Jerusalem Post inquiring as to the lack of coverage (we will let you know when and if we receive a response).
In the meantime Maoz Israel as well as a few other messianic blogs are posting a letter from Pastor Howard Bass.
    (Excerpts):
“A verdict has been handed down by Judge Iddo Ruzin in our lawsuit filed against the Chief Sephardic Rabbi Yehuda Deri, and against the anti-Messianic organization, Yad L’Achim. The judge did exactly what we have been praying and hoping . . . that he would not do! Judge Ruzin has determined that the two defendants are innocent of any wrong-doing concerning the events before, during, and after 24 Dec 2005, and that we did not produce sufficient evidence to prove any personal liability on their part in our civil suit against them. Judge Ruzin has ordered that we pay 1000 ILS to each of the defendants, and that we pay the legal fees of each of their advocates, which will come to tens of thousands of shekels. (We have not yet been notified of this amount.)”
Pastor Bass does cite a victory of sorts:
“We believe that, at least in this latter regard, we were “successful”: even the judge in his decision referred to the Lord as “Yeshua”, and not by the acronym commonly used by many in this land.”
Bass goes on to make a plea for funding to cover the court costs.
    UPDATE: June 16th 2010 from Yad l’Achim
    Excerpts
In his lengthy ruling, the judge pointed to several contradictions and outright lies in the missionaries’ claims:

    1. In their original suit, they said Yad L’Achim had falsely claimed that
a baptism was being held in the facility. During the trial, they
    retracted that charge.
    2. The missionary Howard Bass claimed that Rav Deri had entered the premises
of the Messianic congregation, but later admitted that he never saw the
Rav inside the facility. He conceded that his “knowledge” of the Rav’s
whereabouts came from the radio and Internet.
    3. Bass also claimed that Yad L’Achim incited the crowd against him and
his cult and that all the damages resulted from this incitement. His
“proof” was a newspaper article publicized after the
event on Yad L’Achim statements regarding the dangers of missionaries.
Bass had no logical answer to the judge’s question of how an article
appearing after the event could have incited violence at the facility.
Moreover, the judge said the missionaries failed to prove any
connection between Yad L’Achim and that article.
    4. The judge further ruled that the missionaries had failed to verify the
extent of damages they allegedly incurred. They claimed NIS 1.4
million, but could prove only damage to a projector and glasses, which
    totaled NIS 7,000.
The judge asked why the missionaries didn’t sue the people they claim were
directly responsible for the damages, rather than Yad L’Achim and the
Rav of the city. They had no answer.
Not one of the plaintiff’s witnesses could prove a connection between those
who allegedly caused damage and Yad L’achim and Rav Deri.
The judge ruled that the transfer of information between Yad L’Achim and
Rav Deri – regarding an upcoming baptism of Jews in Be’er Sheva – is
    legitimate.
He also made two rulings on general matters of principle:
Messianic Judaism is a religious stream within Christianity, and this stream is
not recognized as a group within Judaism; one of the main tenets of the
    Messianics is missionary activity…more

Founder of Controversial ‘Jews for Jesus’ Movement Dies Monday May 24, 2010
    Categories: News
The Jews for Jesus movement, a controversial Christian group focused on converting Jews — highly offensive to some, understandably — has confused and fascinated me for years. Doesn’t being a Jew who believes in Jesus basically make you a Christian? (Weren’t all the disciples “Jews for Jesus,” by definition?) If I’m a baptized Christian, but find Shabbat traditions, Passover Seders and other Jewish practices spiritually meaningful, does that make me a messianic Jew, a liberal Christian, or just confused? None of the above?

Questions to ponder, while reading the obituaries for Jews for Jesus founder Moishe Rosen, a Jew-turned-Baptist who died last week at age 78. Some of the coverage:

Founder of Jews for Jesus Embraced Controversy (Wall Street Journal)
Moishe Rosen Dies at 78; Founder of Jews for Jesus (New York Times)

Israel has been a home to the Jewish people since God first promised it to the patriarch Abraham around 2000 BC. After a forced exile that lasted over 1800 years—during which only a small number of Jews remained in the land—the modern state of Israel was established in 1948. Today, there are over 5,313,000 Jewish people living in the land! All one has to do to meet someone Jewish is walk outside on any street in any town.

Jews for Jesus has been ministering in Israel since the 1980’s with short-term teams, but in 1994 Efraim and Jeannie Goldstein moved there with their two boys to establish our permanent Tel Aviv branch office. After twelve years of building the work, Efraim transferred leadership to Dan Sered. Dan is a sabra (Israeli born) who came to faith in Jesus while attending university in the United States.

Tel Aviv is the city with the largest Jewish population in the world. Though Jerusalem is the official capital of Israel, Tel Aviv represents its diplomatic and commercial center. Foreign countries maintain their embassies in Tel Aviv. The city is situated along the Mediterranean coast and is a favorite spot for tourism and local entertainment. Its location makes for easy travel to other major cities such as Jerusalem and Haifa.

Our ministry in Israel consists of street evangelism, one on one visits, and special outreaches at national new age festivals which take place around the major Jewish holidays. Because Israelis are secure in their Jewish identity, they are less defensive when the subject of Jesus is brought up to them. But the obstacles to Gospel proclamation to Israelis are nonetheless formidable. They know almost nothing about Jesus and do not even know his correct name in Hebrew. The religious establishment is vehemently opposed to Jewish believers in Jesus and they often try to disrupt evangelistic endeavors.

Please pray that the Lord will use us for His glory as we bring the good news of the Messiah Jesus to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
