In 1861, after a visit to a Union Army camp, Julia Ward Howe wrote the poem that came to be called “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
It was published in February, 1862, in The Atlantic Monthly.
We have been singing this song ever since!

The intended purpose for that is to address misinformation and answer peoples’ questions in a direct, straightforward manner. If the government were really set on silencing dissidents, your blog wouldn’t exist.

From what I understand, they are not contacting people to answer their questions. This would be too huge a task. They are making a list of dissidents for some future use.
Yes, my blog still exists. There are others who have been shut down. I can think of 2 sites. I try to stay off political topics, and just stick to the bible stuff. This post originally had to do with showing the strength of the American spirit, which is a positive thing.
Orrrrr they’re making a list of commonly received misconceptions, because Obama seems to be addressing a lot of them in his weekly addresses and at his town hall meetings.
Why would this supposedly secret, all-powerful cabal need you to e-mail them to get your information? It doesn’t make any sense.
I was shocked when I heard about this. It seems Obama and his flock will stop at nothing to have his way, to included making a list of his so called enemies and making attempts to discredit them. And it will get worse I’m sure. Obama’s socialist agenda is sinking its claws into every area of our lives.
But thanks be to God he has provided peace of heart to those that trust in Him.

In 2001, mention was made of “President Obama of America” in the movie Taylor of Panama. (Pierce Brosnan, Jamie_Lee Curtis.) It was said that the ruins in the city of Panama was the handwork of “President Obama of America.” These ruins come from the American invasion of December 19, 1989 if I have the year correct.

As for American soldiers, they do not appear to be exactly Christian and that is because of the recruiting process. I come from a background where our Recce’s (SPECOPS) operators would go into retreat for a few days prior to an OPS initiative, to pray for the souls of their victims-to-be and also for the families that would be left behind. I personally know quite a number of our Recce’s and they mostly are more than just reborn Christians.

This is contagious and, through Hollywood, is infecting the entire world, even my country isn’t spared. The question isn’t whether America is still a Christian country, but rather this: Do Americans truly know our Father and serve His purpose?
There is a critical need for true revival, not charismania. There is a need for repentance and return to respect for our Father.
Soldiers dying for America are also dying for my country, so I have a hedged interest in the welfare of your national guard, marines, etc. Americans went to the polls and voted against their nation, against their very own military heroes just as my country voted in an atheist president and government.
Already with the elections in 1998 or’99, I came to the conclusion that that the American voter suffers from Electile Dysfunction, a disease that confuses the part of the brain that handles reason.
How many Americans – civilian or military – fight this battle on their knees before our Father?
I come from a nation that saw almost seventy years of siege and battle against Spain and another 370 fighting for our lives where we have settled. It is in our genes by now, we are an immensely strong people, used to maintain our positions in no less than a 10:1 minority at home or on the battlefield. We have fought communist invaders from China, Russia and Cuba as well as African communists, where we were outnumbered 10:1 as a rule and 100:1 at worst.
Unlike Americans, we know what it is to have war on our own soil and, as could be expected, the shock to the American nation on 9/11 was a terrible blow. While it had affected us all, as we depend upon America for our freedom, we as a nation recovered much faster from the shock simply because terror in our cities is a regular visitor. The scale of the attack, however, was greater than Pearl Harbour, Hiroshima or Nagasaki. Have you noticed how little is being said about Nagasaki?
Your soldiers, like ours, are being sold out by politicians. I salute every marine whom went to war and I mourn every one that was injured, maimed or killed.

Those words are very nice and sentimental, but false. God chastens both individuals and nations – and when He does, it changes their spirit. If you doubt what I am saying, then consider Israel – God certainly allowed their spirit to be changed over the 2000 years they wandered the earth. Then consider all the countries that have arose and fallen during that same span of time – HUNDREDS! Because America, and her people, have not repented and departed from their sin we will be judged in God’s time – and it WILL change us.

I feel there are still enough people in this country that would react to a crisis in a positive manner. Not all are living a life of sin, or rebelling against God. We are just stuck in a country that is like this.
Also, throughout the history of Israel there was always a remnant that stood up for what was right. The spirit of the remnant is one of strength, faith and endurance.
America will eventually fall, as so other countries, because the majority of people sin. We are not unique. Other countries have the same vices.
So the righteous, and unrighteous, will both experience trials, but they will get different judgments.

I see Him leading his beloved ones into places of trial so difficult only a miracle can deliver them.
And through it all, they are becoming wholly dependent on the Lord for everything.
And this is the way of The Lord so you may not perish.
He is preparing us for our journey TOWARDS The Everlasting.
He is preparing us for our flight TOWARDS God.
Amen to that.

Marianne, the symbols in the picture resemble the USA as a whole. That means, even the ungodly may associate with that. One should stand up for what it is right not because one is living in a certain country but because one is living his life for Jesus Christ.
The elites in politics are using these sentimental symbols to gear people into a mood of patriotism so that they draw a form of legitimization for their actions from it.

Heads up guys!!! My husband left for court 1/2 hr. ago. He takes the light rail to Jersey City where the court and his offices are. He just called me like a mad man. He told me that when he got to Jersey City outside the light rail station they had the military standing there with their machine guns. He asked them more then once what was going on? Were they getting ready for martial law? None of them told him a thing. He said they looked right through him. He told me to please pass this on to all of you. He will try to find out more when he gets to the court house. It’s coming on and real soon guys. May God have mercy on this country.

Attenuated live virus is supposed to give the greatest immunity. It is called man made because they culture it in the lab, as opposed to finding it live in nature.
But it seems that if the live virus is not attenuated ( weakened with heat) then it will cause the disease, and give no protection.

I read the comments here daily but don’t comment often. Your voice is the one that touches my heart the most as it rings in truth.
I googled Dyncorp, I had never heard of them. It is groups such as this, and Haliburton and others that convince me that the oppression coming in our nation will be cracked down on the left and not the right.
It is clear to me that our nation has long been preparing for internment camps. There is ample evidence of this. Add that to the fact that we have large jail facilities it is an alarming prospect. I know the jails are full but the majority are in for drug offenses and other things so they are not that great a threat to the general public. These inmates could be let out of jail and room for two million ‘prisoners’ could provided. Prisoners of a political, religious and moral nature.
I beleive the scenario to be played out in our nation is this. We have Obama who is on the left. Or at least that is how he acts. We will never get real socialism with Obama because of things like “blue dog” Democrats. (I like socialism and would readily debate that it is a more God glorifying system than capitalism. That is if it was done correctly.) Yet there is a perceived threat to the conservative right. To some extent they are correct that there is a threat. They are concerned the those who are against homosexuality, abortion, socialism and other things they perceive as evil, will be detained. Thus through those such as Palin you will have a mobilization of the right. Regardless of what plays out in the 2012 elections the conservative tide will be rising. This is actually a fascist entity. The fascists will then detain those on the left in the camps already prepared.
I could never see groups such as the military, private contractors, the police, the FBI, the CIA, and others ever enforcing an all out arrest and detainment off the right. If they did so they would be arresting the majority of their own members!
Since the rising tide of the right is fascist the majority of the darker skinned peoples will be at jepordy. There will probably be some loyalty test involved proving fidelity to the right.
Leading up to 2012 tensions will rise in our nation and around the world. The re emergence of Russia as a milatary power will be key. This will lead to a show down in the Middle East. I believe the tribulation will be seven years with two parts interupted by the coming of the two witnesses of Revelation 11. The first part of the tribulation will be one of deciet where Satan and the anti christ will try to upsurp the rightful place of God. After the two witnesses there will be no doubt in anyone’s mind who the true God is. The final part of the tribulation, another three and a half years will be Satan proclaiming himself as God and forcing all to receive the mark of the beast or perish. (Revelation 13:18)
Anyway those are my thoughts for the moment. How anyone can see all those powerful organizations in the United States betraying themeselves is beyond me. Obama may be commander in chief but when push comes to shove we’ll find out who the real masters are.

Rh is just a protein present on the surface of red cells. It is nothing unusual.
We have all sorts of proteins on our cell membranes to enhance cell signaling between the cell and the rest of the body. Rh (-) people just happen to lack this protein.
It is possible during development that certain proteins are just not expressed, so the person is (-) for that protein.
Other people have diseases sometimes, because they are missing certain proteins, but they are still Rh (+).

I don’t understand why people are so hung up on the United States being a “Christian nation.” Do you want it to be a theocracy? Do you want to have a mandated state religion? Doesn’t that deny the personal nature of the God of Christianity?
On top of this, a lot of the founders of our nation weren’t Christian. Thomas Jefferson, for example, was more of a Deist than a traditional Christian. Look at his The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth if you’d like some evidence of that. He basically rejects the divinity of Christ and the authority of Scripture.
Benjamin Franklin did believe in “existence of the Deity; that He made the world, and governed it by His providence; that the most acceptable service of God was the doing good to man; that our souls are immortal; and that all crime will be punished, and virtue rewarded, either here or hereafter,” but opposed religious dogma in general, and salvation and the divinity of Christ in particular.
The phrase “under God” did not appear in the Pledge of Allegiance of the United States until 1954, due to the threat of the dreaded atheist communists.
I hear a lot of people wishing ill upon Obama and his administration. I feel like they’re forgetting that taking over governments is not something Jesus ever tells us to do – he tells us to “render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s” (Matthew 22:21). The Bible also tells us to submit to earthly authorities, because they’ve ultimately been established by God (Romans 13:1). Whatever happened to “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” (Matthew 5:44)?

Hi hope you are well. You bring up some good points. This is not a Christian nation nor never was. The genocide of the American indian and the brutal enslavement of the Africans speaks volumes about the true nature of segments of the United States.
Yeah it says in ‘God’ we trust, but does not mention which God they mean.
Also regarding Romans 13 which you have quoted one must read that in context. Note that the original Greek had no chapter numbers or verses numbers. The scripture right before the one you cite is Romans 12:21 which says “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” A very telling statement is it not? Go back also to Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind.” Also go ahead to Romans 13:8 “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who love another has fufilled the law.” Romans 13:10 “Love does no wrong to a neighbor, therefore love is the fufilling of the law.” Thus killing and destroying in warfare is far from Love.
So put it together I come to this conclusion. Honor the government in things Earthly but reserve your true obedience to the Lord. Just like a Christian living in China should not consent to a state mandated abortion, a Christian should not fight in a war of man. There are other scriptures I could site like Mathew 5:44 “Love your enemies.”
Yes we know there will be wars till the end. But the Christian’s warfare is restricted to spiritual warfare. Ephesians 6 and
2 Corinthians 10.

The point about the “Christian nation” – the majority religious preference for the USA for the past 400 years has been Christian, irregardless of what a few others may have been in their philosophical tendencies. In the colonial period, they used the bible as a reader for students, for example. Churches were, and still are, everywhere. Christian values have been the basis for much social legislation.
The political landscape of this country has changed with the influx of unbelievers from other nations, and with the apostasy seen in the church, many leaving Christianity.

I hope you are well, it is very nice to be here. I certainly appreciate all the work you put into the blog. It is a refuge or an oasis is a desert, something that refreshes the soul.
The reality is there has never been a Christian nation. Furthermore the United States has been guilty and is guilty of many evil acts collectively as a nation. Calling oneself a Christian does not make one a Christian. Knowing God’s Word and obyeing what it says makes one a Christian.
Yet it is the duty of all who Love Jesus to ensure the government tries to uphold the standards of the Christian faith. That is our patriotic duty as citizens. I would Love to see major changes in this land we live in.

My sister and brother are now in part of army. I am looking after our mother nowadays and raising my 3 deaf kids also…so I knew God have his reasons.

Hi hope you are well.
Change in this country will not come from the top down but from the bottom to up. All these politicians in Washington would love to keep the status quo. Their major concern was to get into the positions that they hold and now their fondest desire is to keep them. It doesn’t matter if they are Democratic or Republican. I will admit that there are minor differences in the two parties but not major ones.
These people in Washington lack back bone and will blow which ever way the wind goes. Right now they get massive contributions from businesses and they have sold their souls to the corporate devils.
If there is ever going to be a change in the way the leadership acts it will be a result of the masses. History proves this. Examine carefully Roosevelt. He was not a liberal by any means. Yet his hand was forced to develop socialist programs. Why? Because if he didn’t there would have been a violent revolution.
What happened when the government announced they were going to bail out the banks? There was great outrage among the people and ninety five percent of the population, according to polls, thought it was a bad move. What happened? Congress delayed their decision on the issue for a week and than passed it.
One of the sickest thing about the bank bail out was that the excutives got their huge bonuses. Here they are bankrupting their companies but then they are rewarded, with tax payer money. Also there was no oversight on how the money was spent.
The government will just be a rubber stamp for the wishes of the big corporations unless the people rise up and make their demands known.
We may have voted for ‘change’ but that is far from enough. And what actually has changed in our country since the election? We have a new lackey with a new look, that it is all. If Obama is a good man and if Obama really wants to help out the people he will never do it without massive support from the common man and woman. We must cry all the louder because the sweet tongue of the devil is so close to the president’s ear that he can hear every faint whisper.

There is much that can be written about false, misguided patriotism and i won’t start in on it…i will just say that over 600,000 young men died in the civil war, and that it was not only unnecessary but down right criminal by the Northern states and the tyrant, “honest” Abe. I fully believe that if general Lee had never ventured into Yankee territory God would have given him the victory. The yankees put many “rebels” in early graves, but my educated guess is that the “rebels” knew God in a better and personal way, they were saved. PEOPLE THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU BELIEVE! GOD IS NOT IN THAT HIDEOUS HYMN ANYMORE THAN HE IS IN THIS TRUMPED UP WAR ON TERROR. Real patriotism is protecting our soldiers from fighting another useless war for the global beast, we will be left with no army at all.
ps. i am not from the South, but according to my bible and human history i’ll take General Lee and Dixie over that drunk Grant and that hideous hymn, likely written by an unbeliever, anyday. Amen.

Whether you can admit to it or not, this country has a history of honoring God in its life. The Hymn was popular in both the north and south during the civil war, which was a tragedy in itself. The hymn does honor God, which is why it is so inspiring.
As long as man rules this earth, and not God, there will be wars, but it does not mean that the USA starts them all. Our soldiers are here to protect us, and they do a good job of it.
Freedom isn’t free. Without our military, we would be in slavery to some foreign power, and have no liberty at all.

But I’ve accepted the direction this country is headed. I’m glad you will be able to enjoy some relief for a while from financial stress. Truly!I just wonder how much time we have left. Guess who’s coming to the family reunion?
It wasn’t that long ago that it was discovered that President Obama was related to Vice President Dick Cheney. Late-night talk-show hosts had a field day in their monologues, and even the politicians joked about it.
Now comes the claim that the president is related to none other than former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. According to the Associated Press, Anastasia Tyler, a genealogist at Ancestry.com, says the president and the hockey mom are 10th cousins by way of common ancestor Pastor John Smith, who settled in Massachusetts in the 17th century.
“Smith was against the persecution of the Quakers,” Tyler said in an interview. “He was a very socially conscious man.”
And if that weren’t weird enough, Tyler is also claiming that conservative radio legend Rush Limbaugh is also a 10th cousin of President Obama, once removed. Their link is through a 17th century Virginian named Richmond Terrell whose history is “a little more nebulous,” Tyler said.
Isn’t Obama related to any liberals? Probably, but the info from the the Utah-based website just gets stranger. According to the Associated Press report, the site also is reporting that President George W. Bush is also related to Obama and Palin. The two presidents are 11th cousins through common ancestor Samuel Hinckly, Smith’s father-in-law. Bush and Palin are 10th cousins once removed.
Since Thanksgiving is just a tad more than a month away, what do you think are the odds that President Obama invites his cousins over for the traditional American feast?

Hello Kittii That all means very little, over here in the UK we are all related to William Walace, and Nero, its just the way generations spread out, Tenth cousin is far far away. Amazing how things have changed.
Someone sent me that video “I want your money” a week ago. She complained to me how few people were in the audience at the theater watching it. There was another movie that came out about 2 years ago called “I.O.U.S.A.” Do you think that theater was full? People don’t listen. I was given a chart 15 years ago that graphed out what is going on today politically and what has led up to it over the last 50 years. Do you think anyone listens? I just packed it away. The elections are coming up in a couple of weeks and I think they are big joke on us.
Israel didn’t listen to the prophets in their day either, why should I expect anyone to listen to modern day prophets? Someone stated to me Sid Roth and Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn wouldn’t know their Bibles if they fell on them. Watch and see.
Is anyone aware it’s “Veterans Day”? I had to be told. I don’t follow the weather report much eihter. I just look outside and look up in the sky. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.

Principles To Govern My Perspective on Money
Money is Morally Neutral – neither good nor evil in itself
o People are good or evil – actions are good or evil – attitudes are good
or evil – therefore it’s what we do with money and how we view
money that is either good or evil – not money itself.
All Money and Material Things Belong to God
o “All that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine . . . Both riches and
honour come of thee” (1 Chron 29:11-12)
o “The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains” (Psa 24:1 NASB)
o Therefore when it comes to money and material “possessions” –
they’re actually God’s, not ours! We are simply stewards.
The Scriptures are Packed with Teaching Concerning Money
o Approximately 2,350 verses in the Bible deal with money or material
possessions – 16 out of Christ’s 38 parables deal with the subject –
Over 15% of the Lord’s recorded words during his life on earth deal
with the subject – he talked about money far more than any other
single subject.
o Is it possible that we conveniently bypass, overlook, pay patronizing
lip-service to, or possibly even blatantly ignore the Scripture’s plain
teaching in this area?
My Attitudes Toward Money Accurately Demonstrate my Spiritual Condition
o Consider the Lord’s comments on Zachaeus – “And Zacchaeus stood,
and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the
poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I
restore him fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation
come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.” (Luke
19:8-9)
o Contrast his comments on the Rich Young Ruler – “Jesus said unto
him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the
poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow
me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away
sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his
disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into
the kingdom of heaven. (Matt 19:21-23)
o It’s not that giving away his goods made Zacheaus a Christian, nor that
doing so would have made the young ruler a Christian – but their
attitude towards their wealth demonstrated their true spiritual
condition. So it is with us. If you want an accurate read of a man’s
spiritual compass – look at his pocketbook.
Where I Allocate my Money will Determine My Heart’s Direction
o “For where your treasure is there will your heart be also” (Matt 6:21)
o We maybe understand that “where your heart is, there will you
allocate your treasure” but that’s not what this verse says – this verse
says “where your treasure is, there will your heart be”
o Do you ever wish you had “more of a heart for the work of the Lord” –
it’s a pretty simple path to get there – invest your money in it, and
your heart will follow!
Living for Money & Living for God are Mutually Exclusive Lifestyles
o “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and
love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.
Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” (Matt 6:24)
o We understand other absolutes absolutely (e.g. John 3:3) – what
about this one? Life can’t be a blend of the two – it’s all one or it’s all
the other – very searching truth! Am I living for God or am I living for
money and all it can bring? Two things God despises – idolatry and
adultery – loving and serving money involves both – my aims and my
affections – divided loyalties and divide allegiances. God, or the
pursuit of wealth? Which will it be for me?
Pitfalls to Avoid Relative to Money
Concern
o “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall
we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? . . . for your heavenly
Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. (Matt 6:31-32)
Complacency or Confidence
o “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded,
nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly
all things to enjoy. (1 Tim 6:17)
Covetousness
o “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth
not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” (Luke 12:15)
o “they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare” (1 Tim 6:9)
o “the love of money is the root of all evil . . . But thou, O man of God,
flee these things” 1 Tim 6:10-11
o “He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who
loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity.” (Eccl 5:10 ESV)
Debt
o “The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the
lender” (Prov 22:7) The NASB translates this verse “The rich rules over
the poor, and the borrower becomes the lender’s slave”
o Suggested guidelines for permitting debt in your lifestyle: (1) never go
into debt without carefully considering and adopting a sound,
achievable plan for repayment; (2) never go into debt for something
that will be consumed before you’ve paid for it; (3) never go into debt
for something without the solid expectation that it will help further
God’s purposes for your life.
o If I understand that money is all the Lord’s not mine – and that
handling it is a solemn stewardship – then debt is basically “spending”
the Lord’s money that he hasn’t even entrusted to me yet! It’s like
blackmailing God – boxing him in – and daring him not to give me the
money I “need” to honour the commitments I’ve already made.
Promises from the Lord Regarding Money
The Lord made two very specific statements relative to money:
“ Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and
shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with
the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
(Luke 6:38)
o Basically, the Lord promises that the more we give, the more we will
have! Pretty radical concept – but it is an absolute promise from the
lips of Christ Himself! What does it mean? Give away what I have –
and I’ll be given more – much more! Not to squander on myself in
selfish living, but to keep giving it away. What greater joy would there
by in life than to be used as a conduit for the Lord to channel blessing
through me to others.
“Remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, “It is more blessed to
give than to receive”.” (Acts 20:35)
o Another radical Biblical concept – it is actually more enjoyable, more
beneficial, and more to be treasured to give than to receive! True joy
and happiness will only ever be found in giving, not in receiving or
hoarding or squandering.
Priority When it Comes to the Use of my Money – Give it Away!
We are given money to give money – the priority in my handling of my money is giving it
away! The real question is not “How much of my money should I be giving to the Lord?”
but rather “How much of the Lord’s money should I be withholding to support myself
and my family?”
WHO should give?
everyone – “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give”
(2 Cor 9:7) – no exceptions – no point saying “if I had more, I’d give more” –
God isn’t interested in what you don’t have – but rather what you do have.
HOW Should I give?
Give first to the Lord – principle of firstfruits – the Lord doesn’t get what’s left
over – the Lord gets first claim on everything I am and have.
Give deliberately – “as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give” (2 Cor 9:7) –
if we do not deliberately decide to give, we’ll have nothing left to give – in most
families today, every dollar is allotted and committed long before we even earn
it. Critical that we sit down and deliberately determine to give.
Give liberally – 2 Cor 8:2 “the riches of their liberality” – literally refers to
single-mindedness in giving – contrast the widow giving her two mites – all that
she had (Mark 12:42) with the double-mindedness of Ananias and Sapphira
(Acts 5:1-10)
Give willingly – 2 Cor 8:3 “the were willing of themselves” – 2 Cor 9:7 “not
grudgingly, or of necessity”
Give privately – Matt 6:1-4 (ESV) “so that your giving may be in secret”
Give sacrificially – 2 Cor 8:3 “to their power, and beyond their power” literally
means – “according to their ability, and beyond their ability”. These
Macedonian believers gave “in a deep trial of affliction” and “out of their
poverty” – we don’t give because “we can afford to” – we give sacrificially.
Give cheerfully – 2 Cor 9:7 “God loves a cheerful giver”
Give freely – “giving” something away means relinquishing your rights to it – do
not give “with strings attached” – giving is not a means of trying to exert
influence or control. Give freely – surrendering your “rights” to whatever you
give away.
WHY Should I Give?
Because Christ gave! – “See that ye abound in this grace also. . .For ye know the
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he
became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” (2 Cor 8:7-9)
Because I can’t keep it anyway – giving is not only “the right thing to do” – it’s
“the smart thing to do”. God’s verdict on the man in Luke 12 is to call him “a
fool” – why?
Jim Elliott’s quote – “”He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that
which he cannot lose.” – written in his journal on Oct 28, 1949
Our choice is very stark – we can’t do both – One path leads to joy, purpose,
meaning and eternal value – The other leads to sorrow, futility, emptiness,
frustration, and every type of evil – so think carefully – which will it be?
o Treasure on earth or treasure in heaven?
o Serve God or serve wealth?
