The Seed of the Serpent

**this is NOT the “seed of the serpent doctrine” which is a heresy. In that teaching, the serpent actually mated with Eve. This study does NOT say that. It addresses a theory about how the nephilim, described in the Bible at a much later time, originated. If Eve had mated with the snake, ALL mankind would be contaminated with the seed of the serpent, Including Jesus. The account of the nephilim takes place in Genesis 6, long after Eve is dead.

In the beginning:

Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee [serpent] and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

Traditional interpretations of this prophecy are that the progeny of people who follow Satan as unbelievers would be at enmity with the progeny of the people of God.

To a great degree, this has proven true. It does indicate a struggle between the faithful and the rebellious, and a struggle between just good and evil in general.

It also indicates, on a very literal level, that the serpent has “seed” that will oppose the “seed” of the woman.

Deeper meanings:

1. The seed has been identified in other scripture as representing the Word of God. Therefore, the serpent’s seed is his word that opposes the word of God. It represents heresies, false doctrines, blasphemies, and false witness against the children of God. The classic example is the word of the virgin (woman) Mary expressing agreement to the Word of the Lord in the annunciation of the pregnancy that would produce the Messiah, who WAS the Word of God. And the seed (word) of the woman was at enmity with the seed (word) of Satan, who worked to kill the Messiah (Word of God).

2. A second interpretation is that, the serpent’s physical seed only produces more snakes, which would be easily killed off by the offspring (seed) of man. This does not seem to have any relevance here.

3. The creepiest interpretation is that the snake is smart enough to inject his physical seed into the human woman, and produce progeny that are wicked. In the early days of the Bible, this is described, and the progeny have been referred to as Nephilim – part snake, part human.

Genesis 6:1-7
1 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them…..

So is what the Bible says even physically possible?

Yes. The Bible indicates indirectly how this was done. Demonic spirits have no physical bodies. To operate in the physical realm, they need a physical body – animal or human. The demons [sons of “god (ie sons of the worldly gods),” NOT sons of GOD-Yahweh] possessed the physical bodies of large snakes, and mated with wicked women. So, is this a valid explanation, or is it fantasy?

For this to be valid, 2 things must be possible

1. the possessed serpent must be physically able to mate with a human. If the snake is big enough, its physical structures could match that of a human man.

Imagine an anaconda. They are huge. Snakes do come in various sizes, depending on the species and age of the reptile. Human experiences with snakes, like boa constrictors and anacondas, are that they will wrap their bodies around their victims.

In snake mating, the male snake has two half-penises or hemipenes at the base of his tail. Once aroused, the male everts one of his hemipenises and inserts it into the vent of the female. Copulation times range from a few seconds to several days. It is assumed that mating could last more than 60 seconds for successful sperm transfer. The male snake will align its body to the females.

I could not find the mating of a large snake, like an anaconda, but I did find that of a crocodile, which is also a reptile. The male anatomy appears similar enough where mating could physically occur with a human female. So I do not offend any sensibilities of those who are not used to biology and anatomy, I will not put pictures directly here, but refer you to a link:

2. the serpent DNA needs to mix with human DNA, so that an embryo can be formed.

It is scientifically possible to mix the DNA of different species. This includes human DNA and tissue with other animals.

So now that we can establish that this can physically happen, what else does the Bible say about the evil one who is to come, who is the physical seed – offspring- descendent – of the serpent?

Mixing of Iron and Clay

Daniel 2:42-43

And [as] the toes of the feet [were] part of iron, and part of clay, [so] the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they [iron] shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Look close at this verse:

note the parallel:

iron = “they”

clay = “seed of men,” man is made from clay

So, “they” is not human, ie. demonic, and the mingling is intermarriage of physically and spiritually incompatible types.

Recalled prophesies about the seed of the serpent

Remember in Gen 3:15, it says:

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shall bruise his heel.

***The constant and final battle will be between the seed of the serpent and the seed of man. The seed of the serpent will also attempt to mingle with the seed of man to destroy its spiritual purity and destiny:

Daniel 2:43 warned and prophesied:

“….so they shall mingle themselves in the seed of men [in marriage bonds]; but they will not hold together [for two such elements or ideologies can never harmonize], even as iron does not mingle itself with clay.”

Where do we find documentation of this intermixing of iron (demons) and clay (humans)?

The Iron, and the seed of Islam in the Quran (Sura 57- Iron):

57: 25. Verily, WE sent Our Messengers with manifest Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance that people may act with justice; and WE sent down iron, wherein is material for violent warfare and diverse uses for mankind, and that ALLAH may know those who help HIM and HIS Messengers without having seen Him. Surely, ALLAH is Powerful, Mighty.
57: 26. And indeed WE sent Noah and Abraham, and WE placed among their seed [physical seed] Prophethood, and the Book [word of the serpent]. So some of them followed the guidance, but many of them were rebellious.

The above could be interpreted this way:  Satan admits to mixing the satanic seed with man. Is Mohammad’s lineage contaminated with the seed of the serpent? If so, then the Antichrist will actually be a direct descendant of Mohammad, and carry both snake and human DNA in his body.

*** note: the actual bases that make up DNA in any animal are the same. It is the order of the bases that determine new genes which will code for different proteins, that influence the organism’s body and functioning.

The idea of serpent DNA mixing in with human DNA is not that bizarre. Many virus DNAs are inserted into the human host upon infection, and take over the cell reproduction machinery. The snake DNA is more complex than the virus DNA, so should be just as “infective.”

This is all just theory based on what has been written and quoted here. Maybe it is true, maybe it isn’t.
