I AM – Father, Son, and Spirit

There are unique “I AM” expressions for the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The expressions give insight into each One.

Following is a ‘brief’ synopsis of what I have written about in Chapter 11 of “all in a season”, hope it will help:

Each of the seven ‘I AM names’ of Jesus are found in the Gospel of John and each reveals some significant aspect of Christ, the Messiah.

The fact that Christ Jesus also uses the words ‘I

am’ brings to light His oneness  with His Father,

YHWH – the great I AM.

• I am the Bread of Life

–
Then Christ Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.” And, “I am the bread of life.”

John 6:35, 48

• I am the Light of the World

–
Then Christ Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
John 8:12

• I am the Door

–
Then Christ Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.” And, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”
John 10:7, 9

• I am the Good Shepherd

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.”

• I am the Resurrection and the Life

–
Christ Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

• I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life

–
Christ Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

• I am the True Vine

–
“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.” And, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
John 15:1, 5

The seven covenant names  of YHWH, God the Father, make His father heart tangible and real to us. I know that by meditating on the fullness of His Name, a new sense of awe and wonder for our Creator Father will arise.

• I am YHWH-Yireh, your Provider

–
And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide (KJV, Jehovah jireh); as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the LORD it shall be provided.”

• I am YHWH-Raphah, your Healer

“If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”

• I am YHWH-Nissi, your Banner

“And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-LORD-Is-My-Banner (KJV, Jehovah nissi).”

The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalms 23:1

• I am YHWH-Shalom, your Peace

And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”…

Then the LORD turned to him and said, “Go in this

might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the

hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” …

Then the LORD said to him, “Peace  be with you;

do not fear, you shall not die.”…

So Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and

called it The-LORD-Is-Peace (KJV, Jehovah

shalom).”

Judges 6:12, 14, 23 and 24a

• I am YHWH-Tsidkenu, your Righteousness

“Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD,

“That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness ; a King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.

In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will

dwell safely; now this is His name by which He

will be called: THE LORD OUR

RIGHTEOUSNESS.”

Jeremiah 23:5,6 (This refers to the Messiah)

• I am YHWH-Shammah, your Presence

“And the name of the city from that day shall be: THE LORD IS THERE .” 
Ezekiel 48:35b (This refers to the Holy Spirit)

This Scripture served as a wonderful confirmation from the Word of God that the Holy Spirit has His seven I AM names, too!

The following bulleted “I AM names” are the seven I AM names the Holy Spirit guided me to write in my journal on 22 September 2006.

The Scripture from Isaiah (11:2), which confirmed the revelation I received from the Holy Spirit, are in italics directly underneath each of the seven bulleted statements.

Although not word for word exactly the same in all instances, the close resemblance thereof instilled in me the full belief in the reality of Holy Spirit and His passion to reveal God’s ‘secrets’ to us.

• I am the Indwelling Spirit of ‘I AM’

The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him

“Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”
