New Moon and Eastern Gate

clip_image002

The eastern gate will open for the prince to come.

On his first “trip” here, Jesus fulfilled the Passover, the Feast of Unleaven Bread, and Shavuot (Pentecost).

It is believed that on his second coming, He will fulfill the rest of the feasts:

Trumpets, Yom Kippur (Atonement), and Succoth (Tabernacles).

How does the eastern gate help us know when and how Jesus will come?

***Note: below I mention the battle of Armageddon  which does not occur until the 6th vial.  The battle mentioned in scripture regarding the prince may actually be the battle of Jehosaphat, which occurs right outside Jerusalem.

Ezekiel gives us a glimpse.

Eze 46:1 ¶ Thus says the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looks toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.

Eze 46:2   And the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of [that] gate without, and shall stand by the post of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening.

Eze 46:3   Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the sabbaths and in the new moons.

It should not be overlooked that two of the major Jewish festivals begin on the full moon, Passover and Succoth.

When Jesus was here the first time, he walked through the eastern gate on Passover, in fulfillment of the first full moon festival.

Points from Ezekiel:

1. Note that we have completed 6 days, or 6000 years, approximately, since Adam.

Just as the eastern gate will be shut 6 days, the complete fulfillment of the Messianic prophecy has been shut as well for 6000 years.

Even though Jesus came the first time, there were tasks he yet had to fulfill.

Furthermore, he left the kingdom of God to man, and man has failed in many ways to make it a reality.

In the Messianic era, there will be no failures.

2. Timing – the eastern gate is to be opened only on Sabbaths and the New Moon (Rosh Chodesh)

3. Only the prince enters through that gate

4. Since the eastern gate is now closed, only the Prince to come can open it.

5. The eastern gate will be open a full day – not closing until the evening.

A day is as a thousand years, foreshadowing the thousand year Messianic reign in the current city.

Who is the Prince?

The Jewish Messiah.

How will the Prince come?

“Then The Lord will go forth and fight against those nations as when He fights on a day of battle.

On that day His feet shall stand on The Mount Of Olives which lies before Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley; so that one half of the Mount shall withdraw northward, and the other half southward [see Earthquake!]

And the valley of my mountains shall be stopped up, for the valley of the mountains shall touch the side of it; and you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then The Lord your God will come, and all the holy ones with Him.” (Zechariah 14:3-5)

Notice that the Jewish Messiah is the Lord himself.

Most agree that this event refers to the return of Christ during the battle of Armageddon.

The Mount of Olives is directly across from the Eastern Gate.

When will the Prince come?

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken [see Signs In The Heavens]; then will appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory; and He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other” (Matthew 24:29-31 RSV)

After the tribulation, not before, the Son of Man appears in the heaven and gathers his elect.

Here, I distinguish between the tribulation and the time of wrath. For me, the saints go through tribulation (seals 1-6), but not the wrath. Many people mix these two together, and so have different definitions of what the “Tribulation” involves.

Notice there is a trumpet call. Many feel this would signal the feast of Trumpets.

Scripture also indicates it will be the “last trump.”

There is a series of blasts on the Feasts of Trumpets.

This would indicate the last time the trumpet, or shofar, was sounded.

Revelation also indicates how this rapture event ends, as the wrath begins.

Rev 6:12 ¶ And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

Notice there is an earthquake as the rapture event ends. This is the earthquake of the Lords return, and it stops the Battle of Armageddon.

Rev 16:16   And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Rev 16:17 ¶ And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

Rev 16:18   And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, [and] so great.

This earthquake raptures the saints, and ends the war. The Jews flee Jerusalem.

The Eastern Gate will open in the earthquake. It is only a few hundred yards from the Mount of Olives, which will split during the earthquake.

10 days of awe

This is the time period between the Trumpets and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement).

The saints has just been raptured.

The world is in “shock and awe.”

An earthquake has just happened during a traumatic moment in deadly attack by enemies.

Israel is in a panic. The Jews flee the city of Jerusalem, and get away from their enemies.

Jesus said to his Jewish disciples, “You will have tribulation 10 days.”

Apparently, the Jews have 10 days to reflect on the 3 ½ years of Jacob’s trouble they have just experienced, and what just happened to the Christians.

Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)– the Jewish redemption

Jesus proceeds to the place where the Jews have fled.

He comes to reveal Himself in a most personal way.

This is something he has waited 2000 years to do again.

This time, the Jews realize who their Messiah is. They mourn in true repentance.

Zec 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.

Jesus comes in the evening, the Erev Yom Kippur, and spend the entire time with them.

They spend the next week with Him.

Succoth – the Eastern Gate opens again

Tabernacles is the last Feast that Jesus will fulfill.

It is also on a New Moon.

Between Trumpets and Tabernacles is 14 days.

First the saints are raptured.

Then the Jews meet their redeemer after 10 days.

They spend time with Him rejoicing.

Jesus returns to Jerusalem on Succoth, the Feast of Tabernacles, and the gate is open before him.

This will be the time of the New Moon.

He has his new Jewish believers with him.

Jesus, the Prince, walks through the eastern gate after 2000 years of absence, and takes back the city of Jerusalem for God !!!

  1. That is incredible Marianne! G-D must have revealed this to you for you have truly explained this in such a way that I, personally, have been trying to figure out on my own the order of events and how this happens. Truly we are in the last days. As you know, the Holy Spirit told me, TWICE, to learn the Jewish Holidays-in Feb 2010 and March 2010, right before Passover. By learning and understanding the Jewish Holidays/Feasts, we are able to “see” the big picture per se and how is all comes together. Thank you so much for this post! Well done Marianne 🙂

  2. I was just reading about the Eastern gate this morning. I just finished the first chapter of Dr. David’s Reagan’s book: “God’s plan for the Ages”

    http://www.raptureready.com/featured/reagan/dr27.html

    Prophetic Significance
“We have the prophetic word made more sure,
to which you do well to pay attention,
as to a lamp shining in a dark place.”
    2 Peter 1:19

    The Importance of Prophecy
Is it just pie in the sky?

“Although prophecy constitutes almost one-third of the bible, it’s importance is constantly downplayed by those who dismiss it as having no practical significance or by those who object to it on the grounds that it is a “fad” that takes people’s eyes off Jesus.

Revelation 19:10 says that ” the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Thus, if prophecy taught, there is not reason for it to divert anyone’s attention away from Jesus. In fact, it should serve to emphasize the centrality of Jesus. Is prophecy practical? Consider that all the New Testament writers testify to the fact that the study of prophecy will motivate holy living. What could be more practical than that?
Prophecy does not have to be either faddish, other-worldly, or impractical if taught properly. Nor does it have to be a playground for fanatics. It can and should be green pastures for disciples.
    Reasons for study:
1.Quantity: Between one-fourth and one-third of the bible is prophetic in nature.
    2. Validator of Scripture
    3. validator of Jesus
    4. Tool of Evangelism
    5. Revealer of the future
    6.. tool of Moral Teaching
    8. generator of Spiritual Growth.

    The Gate to Prophecy:
The Eastern Gate in the old walled city of Jerusalem has a very special place in my heart. The reaaon is that God used that gate to open my eyes to His Prophetic Word.

The year was 1967. The occasion was the Six Day War. As the fate of the new State of Israel hung in the balance I searched the newspapers daily for any information I could find about the war.

The turning point came on June 7 when the Israeli army broke through the Lion’s Gate and returned control of the ancient city of Jerusalem to the Jewish people for the first time in 1,897 years.

    A Mysterious Remark:
the next day I read a fascinating news account about one of the Jewish commando groups that had been involved in the assault on the city.

That article state that some members of the group had suggested catching the Jordanian defenders of the city off guard by blowing open the sealed Eastern Gate. But the leader of the group, an Orthodox Jew, had vehemently protested the idea, stating that “the Eastern Gate can be opened only when the Messiah comes.”

That statement caught my eye. I wondered what the fellow was talking about. I knew nothing about the Eastern Gate except that it was then only gate of the city that let directly onto the Temple Mount. I was not aware that it was sealed, nor did I know that its opening was in any way biblically linked to the return of the Messiah.
    A Remarkable Prophecy

I decided to do some research on the matter, and that decision initiated my study of bible prophecy. I had been attending church for 30 years, but like most Christians. I knew nothing about Bible prophecy. The topic was generally ignored by the preachers in my boyhood church.

My concordance quickly directed me to the passage that the Orthodox Jew ad alluded to. I found it in Ezekiel 44. The context is a supernatural tour which the Lord is giving Ezekiel of the future Millennial temple (Ezekiel 40:1-3)

In chapter 43 the Lord gives Ezekiel a vision of God’s glory entering the Millennial temple from the east, through the Eastern Gate. The Lord says to Ezekiel: “Son of Man , this the place of My throne and the place of the soles of my feet where I will dwell among the sons of Israel forever” (Ezekiel43:7)

    A momentous Decisions

The stage was set for the fulfillment of this prophecy more than 400 hundred years ago in 1517 when the Turks conquered Jerusalem under the leadership of Suleiman the Magnificent. He commanded that the city’s ancient walls be rebuilt, and in the midst of this rebuilding project, for some unknown reason he ordered that the Eastern Gate be sealed up with stones.

Legnds abound as to why Suleiman closed the gate. The most believable one is that while the walls were being rebuilt, a rumor swept Jerusalem that th Messiah was coming. Suleiman called together some Jewish rabbis and asked them to tell him about the Messiah. They described the Messiah as a great military leader who would be sent by God from the east. He would enter the Eastern Gate and liberate the city from foreign control.

Suleiman then decided to put an end to Jewish hopes by ordering the Eastern Gate sealed. He also put a cemetery in front of the Gate, believing that no Jewish holy man would defile himself by walking through a Muslim cemetery.

    A Prophetic Symbol

The gate has remained sealed since that time. The Muslim cemetery still bocks the entrance. The old walled city has eight gates, and Eastern Gate, and it alone, is sealed-just as prophesied in Ezekiel 44. The world would call that an “amazing coincidence.” I call it a a “God-incidence.

The Eastern gate is proof positive that the bible is the Word of God. Its sealing is clear evidence that we are living in the end times. The Gate awaits the return of th Messiah Then and only the, will it be opened.

    A vision

I have a vision of what that glorious day will be like. It is related to the Lord’s First coming. I believe Jesus i going to replay His triumphal entry into Jerusalem when He returns.

When he came the first time, Jesus rode a donkey from the Mt. of Olives down into the Kidron Valley and up to the Eastern Gate where He entered the Temple Mount for His last days of teaching. As He made that ride, the Vally of Kidron was filled with thousands of admirers who had heard about the resurrection of Lazarus. They waved palm branches and chanted. “Hosanna to the Son of David!” Within a few days that same fickled crowd was shouting, “Crucify Him!”

We are told in Revelation 19 that when Jesus returns He will come a s victorious military conqueror, riding through the air on a supernatural white horse. In Isaiah 63 we are told that He will come from the east, and Zechariah 14 we are told that He will touch ground on the Mt. of Olives from which He ascended into Heaven.

Revelation 19:14 says that all the Redeemed will come with the Lord. Think of it! Those of us who are saved will be there to witness the Lord’s return. Zechariah 14 says He will speak a word that will supernaturally destroy the Antichrist and his forces.

Then, I believe we will witness a replay of the Lord’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. With angels hovering above and millions of
the Redeemed filling the Kidron Valley, Jesus will ride up to the Eastern Gate on His White horse, and as He approaches the Gate, it will open supernaturally. He will then enter the City of David and to the triumphant shouts of “Hosanna to the Son of David.” He will be coronated the King of kings and Lord of Lords.

I believe that’s what Psalm 24:7-10 is all about when it says:

7 Lift up your heads, O gates,
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!

8 Who is th king of glory?
    The Lord strong and mighty,
    The Lord mighty in battle.

9 Who is the King of glory?
    The Lord of hosts,
He is the king of glory.

    • There was a road bridging over the Kidron valley to connect the Mount of Olive-grove to the Temple mount. This was a sort of highway for all the traffic. During Palm Sunday, people carries lamb for sacrifice to the Temple. Note: Bethphage was a suburb of Jerusalem (priests town).

In other words, Yeshua and His group used this road. They did not go down to the bottom of the Kidron valley and then come up.

See EL Martin’s works, The Temples That Jerusalem Forgot and The Secrets of Golgotha at http://www.askelm.com/ (not every points he told are correct.) (He was unitarian, universalist, sort of)

      • interesting link…I am looking at it now.

any archeological evidence of the bridge? I know there are objects and other things down in the valley.

        • Both Josephus Flavius and Talmud describe it; After Mount of Olives split it will appear lower than Temple Mount;

  3. I’m sorry if it always looks like I’m giving you a a bad time. Think of it as a challenge.

I don’t believe we will go through the tribulation. There’s a difference between a depression and the Tribulation and that’s why I don’t like date setting. It makes us look foolish. Everything that is happening right now ia a repeat leading up to WWII. (Nazi Germany, like Paul McGuire has touched on) It proves we never learn from History. When was the least time or the first time you picked up a good commentary on the End times? I think most of the Christian Leaders in prophecy I have mentioned are new to you.

This is going to be a time of testing of one’s faith. A lot of people are going to fall away. I’m glad it’s not going to be me.

    • Kitti

I am ok with challenges. 🙂 Everyone has their opinion of what something obscure might mean.

that was a good summary of the eastern gate you gave.

      good video.

  4. The Doctrine of Imminence is new to me. I believe it’s so the devil will never know when the Lord is coming. It keeps him on his toes.

    http://www.rapturesolution.com/beechick/Contents.htm
    http://www.rapturesolution.com/

On the one hand we have all these passages which reveal the exact day. On the other hand, we have passages like, “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh” (Matthew 25:13). In short, Scripture presents a known day and an unknown day.

Is this a contradiction? You well know that the Bible never contradicts itself. My point is this: two different days must be in view. Christ comes, not once, but twice. This is the only way I know of to harmonize the pieces of the puzzle without any contradiction. With two different days, we get a picture that looks something like this:

The unknown day refers to Christ’s coming before the tribulation while the known day refers to Christ’s coming after the tribulation. These are two different days. Herein lies our first evidence against a post-tribulation rapture.

My question is this: Can believers living during the tribulation know the day Christ will return? Think about it. If the tribulation is seven years long, and if Christ will return at the end of the tribulation, then what prevents believers from knowing when Christ will return?

Some readers will have a ready answer for me. They will respond immediately, “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh” (Matthew 25:13). If the day and hour cannot be known, doesn’t that contradict any idea that believers during the tribulation can know the day?

A known day and an unknown day does not necessarily mean there are two different days. It may merely mean two different groups of people, namely believers and unbelievers. Believers will know, and unbelievers will not know.

It is true that believers will know and unbelievers will not know at the end of the tribulation. But there is more to it. There remains a day unknown to believers. Read it for yourself: “Watch therefore: for ye know not … in such an hour as ye think not … for ye know neither the day nor the hour …” (Matthew 24:42, 44; 25:13).

The conclusion is unavoidable. Since Scripture tells of a known day and an unknown day for believers, then there must be two different days.

We have been talking about the difference between the known day and the unknown day. Church saints do not know the day but tribulation saints will know the day.

    Scripture Index

    • “no one knows the day or hour” is Jesus referring to the Feast of Trumpets! It is the only Feast day that the Jews “did not know the day or hour that it began” because it was determined by the New Moon. So, when Jesus says, “no one knows the day or hour” he is actually saying ” Feast of Trumpets”. Jesus is Jewish; Disciples are Jewish; only the JEWS would have understood him correctly, for they KNEW that the Feast of Trumpets (a JEWISH Feast Day) was the “day that no one knew the day or hour it began”.

      • kinda off topic but relevant….I remember sitting thru an entire sermon based upon the “hem” of Jesus’ garment that the lady with the blood issue touched. It was about how rich Jesus was because his clothing had a “HEM”. I remembered that tonite and just burst out laughing…BECAUSE the more accurate translation from Greek is that “she touched the FRINGE of Jesus’ PRAYER SHAWL”. Had nothing to do with Jesus being rich enough to have a HEM in his garment….the Fringe of Jesus’ prayer shawl, as is with all prayer shawls, is that it represents G-D’s commandments, His promises and His covenant. So, when the lady with the blood issue reached out and said to herself, “if only I could touch “G-D’s promises/covenant I will be healed”. Big difference huh?!

I am just trying to show that we can’t always believe man-made doctrine. Because obviously, due to the 55 minute sermon on the “hem”, he didn’t have a clue! This is one reason why I left the church and sought G-D and the TRUTH on my own. I have found ALOT of the TRUTH on Marianne’s site and am grateful for being led here. 🙂
This is my “sermon” for the day…shalom! LOL

The pastor’s brain was on money, sigh.

The woman apparently knew about this prophecy:

Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

This prophecy is about the Messiah

The wings are the fringes, or feathered corners, of the prayer shawl.

So she knew that healing was in the edge of the garment Jesus was wearing, since he WAS the Son of Righteousness.

how long does the tribulation last?

Jacobs trouble last 3 1/2 years, not 7 years.

how does the last week of Daniel translate into a 7 year trib, or does it?

depending on where you start counting, you either have pre, or post….trib

    • LambLion ministries ONLY believes in the pre-trib rapture and totally ignore Matthew 24 and totally ignore Acts 2, and ANYTHING regarding the Baptism of the Holy Spirit! Because of this, I don’t listen to anything they have to say. They will quote doctrine of this and doctrine of that and will ignore MOST of what the scriptures have to say regarding the end days and G-d pouring out His spirit and Jesus PROMISING the Holy Spirit. Again, this is why I left the “church” because it was nothing but a big building full of people who didn’t care to know about the TRUTH; they just wanted their social gathering and to some, the appearance of being a good person/”christian”. They sit in their pews SUNDAY after SUNDAY…ignoring the TRUE sabbath and again, just ignoring the TRUTH all together but will say AMEN whenever some guys OPINION sounds good! VERY similar to a modern day PHARISEE!

  7. I guess that Mark Blitz makes the rounds. He’s saying the same thing you are. I want to get my beliefs down pat. That’s why I bought that book. It definitely is a puzzle.

  10. Lyndsey;
I’ve always seen God’s word from a Jewish perspective. I didn’t have to get a New Translations of the Bible to learn it. I learned a long time ago that the hem was a prayer shawl. I’m really bugged by all the political deception going on and everyone trying to fit Bible prophecy to it.

    • Well good for you Kitti, and what is your point exactly? and please don’t bring Lamblion stuff on here…I know what they are about and they are just FULL of one Doctrine or another..and if the TRUTH doesn’t fit into their DOCTRINE then they ignore it and believe to follow their lies. As for your comment above, MOST people don’t UNDERSTAND the Jewish perspective of the BIBLE….so don’t assume everything is about you……and by the way, tell abigail we said hello and how is she doing with her anti-semitic attitude these days…AND when it comes to videos…LESS is more!

    • kitti

There are prophesies about prayer shawls?

  11. To Marianne: Do we have anything which can be called ‘rapture’ in Revelation?

    • hi Ounbbl

Interesting point. I do not think the Book of Revelation mentions an event that could be described as a rapture.

I was matching up the “signs” of Jesus return in Matthew with Revelation signs at the 6th seal. That is the only way to connect the event of Jesus coming in the sky for believers.

    • Without a doubt, I believe that the event we call “the rapture” is found in Revelation 10. Many love to point to 1 Thess 4:16 and 1 Cor 15:51-52 when discussing the rapture, but then fail to see it in the Revelation of Jesus Christ.

When we read Rev 10, notice what happens when the “mighty messenger” begins to sound the 7th and LAST TRUMPET:

Revelation 10:1,3a,7, “And I saw another mighty angel COME DOWN FROM HEAVEN, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow [was] upon his head, and his face [was] as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire … And cried with a LOUD VOICE, as [when] a lion roareth … in the days of the voice of the SEVENTH angel, when he shall begin to SOUND, the MYSTERY OF GOD SHOULD BE FINISHED, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.”

Notice the words I have emphasized above. I believe that this is directly related to 1 Thess 4:16 and 1 Cor 15:51-52, the most popular rapture passages in the entire Bible.

1 Thess 4:16, “For the Lord himself shall DESCEND FROM HEAVEN with a SHOUT, WITH THE VOICE OF THE ARCHANGEL, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first” *and* 1 Cor 15:51-52 reads, “Behold, I shew you a MYSTERY; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST TRUMP: for the TRUMPET shall SOUND, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

      In Revelation 10 we have:

      1. A “mighty angel” coming down from heaven, 2. Crying out with a loud voice, 3. The seventh and last trumpet begins to sound, 4. And the “mystery” of God is finished once the last trumpet begins to sound.

In 1 Thess 4:16 and 1 Cor 15:51-52 we have:

      1. The Lord coming down from heaven with the voice of the Archangel, 2. With the trump of God, 3. The Mystery: At the last trump the dead are raised, and 4. At the last trump we will be changed in the twinkling of an eye.

This is not just a mere coincidence. In fact, let’s take a closer look at the identity of the “mighty messenger” of Revelation 10.

I believe that we can ascertain exegetically and hermeneutically that the “mighty messenger” that John sees coming down from Heaven (often translated as “angel”) in Rev 10:1 is a direct reference to Jesus Christ. (IMPORTANT: We need to keep in mind that “angel” does not always refer to a created being, though it normally does in most cases. The Greek word for “angel” simply means “messenger” and at times can be referring to a Christophany or Theophany, especially in the Old Testament.) John borrows extensively from the Old Testament so this could very well be a Christophany here as well, and I believe that it is. Here is why.

In Rev 10:3 we read that “he gave a loud shout like the ROAR OF A LION.” This is a significant clue in my opinion, for we know that Christ is the One who roars at His coming. Jeremiah 25:30 says that, “‘The LORD will roar from on high, And utter His voice from His holy habitation; He will roar mightily against His fold. He will give a shout, as those who tread the grapes, Against all the inhabitants of the earth.” In Hosea 11:10 we read, “They shall walk after the LORD: he shall ROAR LIKE A LION: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.” Joel 3:16 says, “The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD [will be] the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.” Amos 1:2 says that “The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.” 1 Thess 4:16 says that “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven WITH A SHOUT, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first”.

And the clues don’t just stop there.

Note that this “mighty messenger” in Rev 10:1 comes down from heaven “clothed with a cloud”. During the Second Coming Jesus Christ is “coming on the clouds” or “coming in a cloud” (Matt. 24:30, 26:64, Mark 13:26, 14:62, Luke 12:27, Rev. 1:7, Dan 7:13). Indeed, even when Jesus ascended to Heaven “he was taken up; and a cloud received him” (Acts 1:9).

Even the “rainbow upon his head” is another clue in my opinion. The only other reference to a rainbow in Revelation is in 4:3 when John describes the throne of God. Significantly, the only other time a rainbow appears in Scripture is in the first book of the Bible in Genesis 9:13-14. In the Genesis account, the rainbow is seen in the aftermath of the global flood sent forth by God in order to remove sinful and evil-minded man from the earth. As the rainbow symbolizes God’s promise to never again destroy the earth through a flood, we are reminded by Peter that the next time judgment comes it will not come by a flood, but by fire. In 2 Peter 3:3-7, we read:

“First of all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, ‘Where is this coming he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.’ But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens existed and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.”

“Where is this coming he promised?” There is your answer.

Moreover, we read that “his face was like the sun”, which should remind us immediately of Rev 1:16-17 where the One who calls Himself “the first and the last” is described by John as having a face “like the sun shining in all its brilliance”. It should be quite obvious to us that this is none other than Jesus Christ.

So you see, in Revelation 10 where we find the last trump and the mystery of God being finished we have a perfect harmony with the two most popular rapture passages in the Bible.

This undeniable fact is proof that there is no pre-trib rapture.

Side note: the seals, trumpets & vials are not consecutive, but are much more parallel and concurrent to one another. The Sixth Seal of Revelation 6 introduces the Seventh and last trump as well as the Seventh vial.

  12. Isaiah also talks about the Messiah battering the gate… Note the progression or SEQUENCE here in Isaiah 20-27

ISAIAH 20 THE KING OF ASSYRIA COMES AND TAKES OVER EGYPT
    FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS
(Israel shall fall for 3 1/2 years).
ISAIAH 21 PERSIA ATTACKS AND CAUSES LABOR PAINS.
(the Antichrist, the king of Assyria, leads Iran in an invasion)
ISAIAH 22 IN THAT DAY I WILL SUMMON MY SERVANT, ELIAKIM
SON OF HILKIAH. HE SHALL HAVE THE KEY.
(Jesus has the key of David)
ISAIAH 24 THE LORD DEVASTATES THE EARTH. JERUSALEM LIES
    DESOLATE. IT’S GATE IS BATTERED.
The Antichrists invasion will cause the desolation of Israel and Jerusalem. Then the Lord will come back and BATTER the gate)

THE MOON AND SUN ARE DARKENED, AND
THE LORD WILL REIGN FROM MT. ZION.
    ISAIAH 25 ON THAT MOUNTAIN,
DEATH WILL BE SWALLOWED UP FOREVER.
ISAIAH 26 THE DEAD SHALL RISE. THE PEOPLE OF GOD WAIT UNTIL
THE WRATH OF GOD PASSES BY. THE LORD IS COMING
TO JUDGE THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH FOR THEIR SINS.
ISAIAH 27 A TRUMPET SHALL SOUND, AND THE LORD WILL GATHER
UP “ISRAELITES” ONE BY ONE FROM ALL OVER THE
    GLOBE.

So you have here is the invasion of the Antichrist to start the last 3 1.2 years … then the Lord will come back with the rapture with a trumpet, the resurrection, and batter the gate..

proves post trib rapture beyond question…:)

  13. Qunnbl;

    Harpazo:
    The Scriptural Concept of Rapture

    http://www.whatsaiththescripture.com/Prophecy/Harpazo.html

Harpazo (har-pad’-zo) is the Greek word which the New Testament translators have rendered as “caught up”. “I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up [Greek, harpazo] to the Third Heaven” (2Corinthians 12:2). “Rapture” is taken from an obsolete French word, which means “abduction” or “to carry off”. Though Greek scholars may refrain from using “rapture” to translate “harpazo”, it is not a wresting of Scripture for the honest Christian to see the connection between the two. “According to your faith be it unto you” (Matthew 9:29).

Marianne wouldn’t know any “Greek” terms, because she doesn’t attend any “Church”.

It’s all about “Jesus”, not “Prayer shawls”.

  14. When 2014-2017 comes and this country is bankrupt and people are looking for their next meal, and you’ve gone through your tribulation and the Lord hasn’t come back and you are disilluasioned about the Bible, e-mail me. Arabs are semites too. Did you know that? You have a lot to learn. This blog cause division.

    • ???

I was referring to the rapture of the church, in Revelation, not a private experience of one man.

Hey! I attended “church” until from birth to just last year!

I left because they had fake prophesies. I am still on the mailing list. I can send you the last email where they want people to “register” for the next prophecy reading. It was just this week.

I have already been through my own tribulation, so whatever comes, comes.

I hope to leave as soon as possible. 🙂

    • this sounds like abigail!

And I would be completely shocked if Jesus didn’t return by 2018…actually, I would be completely shocked if nothing happend in the years of 2014/2015 because of the eclipses falling on Feast Days and KNOWING that this is very important to G-D.

    • So, what is your point? Kitti, you keep “hinting” at things and posting videos and sending emails with many many links to various websites and articles but I truly haven’t a clue what you are implying or trying to communicate. When posting a video or a link to an article or website, you need to give the recipient an introduction of some kind so that they will understand why your giving this information to them. I have asked you several times what you are talking about/implying and I have yet to get an answer, any answer.

  15. Lyndsey;
If you know me long enough I’m always saying I’m sorry. You are still cute in my eyes. You sound so excited. If I quenched the spirit forgive me. Be a good Berean!!!!!!!!!!!!! Question everything, don’ aceept everything. I still find it hard to believe Marianne that you attend an orthodox “Shul” and are accepted.

    • hi Kitti

I am quiet and do not push my beliefs. I respect what they do, and believe, and pray along with them.

The rabbi is a jewel, and would prefer someone come back to their Jewish roots, than lose them to the world all together. He understands I was raised as a Christian “in church” :), so that is part of who I am.

On the outside of the shul services, I have had the opportunity of discussing Jesus with 2 of the women there, who have questions, and want to know more. So the door is slowly opening.

I feel like I am supposed to be there as things get worse for Israel. When this happens, I think more people will be searching for more than what they have now.

I have been planted there, and I feel like I am supposed to be there when they need me the most.

For now, I am their friend. I pray with them, eat with them, listen to their problems, hold their babies, dance with them ( although there are restrictions on how….), talk on the phone with them, shop with them, and discuss books with them. I celebrate all the feasts with them, and I give money to the shul.

  16. Less it better. I’m working on that as we speak. Thanks for the suggestion.

  17. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem…..this is so peaceful

  18. Revelation 16 Behold I come like a thief AT ARMAGEDDON!

Rapture case closed if your mind is not

    • revelation 16?

I looked in Revelation 22…12/Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. 13I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

  19. Lyndsey there is no 7 year tribulation the first 3 1/2 are peaceful

    • I am learning that now…I used to think it was pre-trib…but I really don’t see that now.

But did you find where it says he comes at armegedon?

      • I think the pre adn post terms have to do with when you start counting time.

It is really pre-wrath, and post jacob’s trouble. from what I see.

        • So if peace treaty is signed in 2011 (assuming this is the covenant with many) then 3.5 years of peace and then 2014/2015 the abomination that causes desolation…this puts us at the solar/lunar eclipses on feasts days for both 2014 and 2015. I am remembering where Jesus says that tribulation will be 10 days, this could be the 10 days of awe, as you stated above in your post…the abomination has taken place, jews have fled, Jesus comes thru the eastern gate/Mt of olives separates in 2 due to the earthquake (this happens at the last trump/Feast of trumpets) and then during the 10 days of awe they reflect on what has happened etc…what throws me off with this is that the eclipses occur on Feast days 2 years in a row! So, is 2014 just a “warning” year?

  20. Lyndsey, Rev 16 at Armageddon Jesus comes like a thief..the whole rapture thing has been sold as Jesus coming back at any moment “like a thief”

…Also….there are souls under the alter who have been beheaded for their faith…they did not worship the beast, and they were a part of the first resurrection, so the rapture says, we who are still alive and are left shall certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep,.,..the dead shall rise first, then we who are alive shall join the lord in the air…if the souls who did not worship the beast, it means they had to be there to not worship him, and thus they are a part of the first resurrection, the rapture must happen afterwords….

I mean how many first resurrections are there? ONLY ONE!

Isaiah 26 27 the sun moon and stars are darkened, an event which we know takes place at the end of the tribulation…OK? At the time Isaiah says a great trumpet shall sound, the dead in Christ shall rise and the Israelites shall come from all over the earth!

ISAIAH 24 THE LORD DEVASTATES THE EARTH. JERUSALEM LIES
    DESOLATE. IT’S GATE IS BATTERED.
THE MOON AND SUN ARE DARKENED, AND
THE LORD WILL REIGN FROM MT. ZION.
    ISAIAH 25 ON THAT MOUNTAIN,
DEATH WILL BE SWALLOWED UP FOREVER.
ISAIAH 26 THE DEAD SHALL RISE. THE PEOPLE OF GOD WAIT UNTIL
THE WRATH OF GOD PASSES BY. THE LORD IS COMING
TO JUDGE THE PEOPLE OF THE EARTH FOR THEIR SINS.
ISAIAH 27 A TRUMPET SHALL SOUND, AND THE LORD WILL GATHER
UP “ISRAELITES” ONE BY ONE FROM ALL OVER THE
    GLOBE.

This is in the Old Testament no less!!!!

in my new book END TIME SECRETS REVEALED! on amazon

  21. You can speculate as much as you want as far as the Lord’s return, but the fact remains that the (Time or the day of His arrival no one knows no even the Angels nor the Son ,for only the Father knows of such an hour). As far as Jesus appearing at the Temple in Jerusalem ,the Lord warns us not to move one foot from where we are ,for everyone on earth will see Him from everywhere on His arrival.

    • Rosa,

Remember, Jesus was and is Jewish. The Bible is Jewish. The apostles were Jewish. So, when reading the scriptures, you have to read it from a JEWISH point of view. So, when Jesus replies to his Disciples with “no one knows the day or the hour” when they ask him when he will return, Jesus is telling them WHEN He will return but in THEIR LANGUAGE-Jesus is telling them THAT DAY no one knows the day or the hour-it is FEAST OF TRUMPETS! This is one of the Feast Days set up by G-D and it is the ONLY Feast day that “no man knows the day or hour” it begins! It is an Idiom-a jewish idiom. For example, in the western world, if I wanted to tell somebody when I was coming I could say, The day that I come will be “gobble gobble….which of course in the western world is referring to THANKSGIVING. I don’t come out and say Thanksgiving, but I give a HINT to that day based upon western culture-Jesus is giving a HINT to the apostles based upon Jewish culture.

      • And the reason why the Jews don’t know the day or hour that the Feast of Trumpets begins is because it begins upon the sighting of the New Moon, which is determined by two witnesses (sound familiar-there will be two witnesses that come before Jesus does) revelations 11:3

So, whenever the two witnesses spotted the new moon, they would be interviewed separately as to the DAY AND HOUR these two witnesses spotted the new moon-if their stories were correct, then they would light a fire upon the highest mountain or hill to let everyone know the Feast of Trumpets had begun…to make sure they celebrated this Feast accurately, the Feast of Trumpets, also known as Rosh Hashanah, is celebrated for 1 extra day, just to make sure they got it correct.

Now you can continue to believe that no body will know when he is coming and that it is futile to even try, but Jesus clearly told us what was going to happen and WHEN! That is just the kinda guy he was-AWESOME! 🙂

  22. We cant know the day or hour, but if are not watching and not ready we will not make it, Jesus said. strange eh? If you read all 3 accounts of the return, Jesus says that the fig tree does not mean Israel becoming a nation again. It means instead that the generation that sees the signs will not pass away before he comes. What are the signs? Antichrist in the temple…sun moon and stars darkened…Jesus said when you see all those things LOOK UP for YOUR REDEMPTION DRAWS NIGH!!

    • are you kidding me! Its as plain as the nose on your face! Look again Alan-AFTER you learn the Jewish HOlidays!!!!

    • and Israel IS the FIG TREE…your statement above regarding Israel and “we can’t know the day or hour, but if are watching and not ready we will not make it…”This is simply NOT true.

Do you understand the Feasts of the Lord and their relevance to the Jesus’ second coming?

    • and Israel IS the FIG TREE…your statement above regarding Israel and “we can’t know the day or hour, but if are watching and not ready we will not make it…”This is simply NOT true.

Do you understand the Feasts of the Lord and their relevance to Jesus’ second coming?

  23. How many here have received the baptism in the Holy Spirit spoken of throughout the New Testament?

1While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit whena you believed?”

They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

3So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”

    “John’s baptism,” they replied.

4Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 6When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. 7There were about twelve men in all.

This is just one of many references to the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is a complete SEPARATE baptism. My point is this…all of us are reading the same BIBLE and the same scriptures etc…but we are getting different understanding….My understanding comes from the quickening within my Spirit which is full of the HOLY SPIRIT who leads us into ALL TRUTH. This is a bold statement, but I will say-I think it has been begging to be said-if you don’t have the HOLY SPIRIT dwelling INSIDE of you with the evidence of speaking in a supernatural language then your interpretation of the scriptures are only CARNAL-your own understanding/assumptions etc….the HOLY SPIRIT wrote the scriptures! So don’t you think He is the one to interpret them correctly?!

Luke 24:4444Then he said, “When I was with you before, I told you that everything written about me in the law of Moses and the prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45Then HE OPENED THEIR MINDS TO UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES. 46And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. 47It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations,f beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ 48You are witnesses of all these things.

49“And now I WILL SEND THE HOLY SPIRIT, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and FILLS YOU with power from heaven.”

  24. Lyndsey;
Abigail asked me not to be a reporter or a mediator after she left this blog. We’re not really in communication. I’m respecting for that. I only know her from this blog. According to 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 we are to be committed to the ministry of reconciliation. Shul is Yiddish for synagogue.

    • Corinthians 5:18-19 is talking about reconciliation to G-D-NOT men.

      • 18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 21God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
        Corinthians 5:18-19

  25. Marianne and Ounbbl;
The Rapture or Harpatzo is not in Revealtion because the church doesn’t go through the Tribulation. The mention of the Rapture is in Thessolians and Cornithians. The Tribulation saints (those who get saved during the tribulation) will go through the tribulation. The four letters at the beginning of the book are addressed to the “church”, not in the rest of the book. Why?

    • hi kitti

The church is mentioned through chapter 6, and the 6th seal, because the saints are being beheaded. So, the church is there.

Thessalonians and Corinthians reference to a rapture does not mention the actual time frame of the event…except that it seems like we do not “leave” until the man of sin is revealed, which means we are around for part of the events described.

      2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

I am not certain, when during the “tribulation” that the man of sin reveals himself. The first 4 horses – white, red, black, and pale – do not specifically mention a man of sin. The beast is not even mentioned until chapter 13.

I also try to define what i mean by tribulation, which for me is the first 6 seals. I distinguish that from the rest of the book, which is the wrath of God, and the 7 trumpets and 7 vials.

I am not saying I am right. That is just how I define things when I make comments or posts.

    • Which doctrine did you get this from?

  26. I think it’s good when we can admit we don’t have our theology down pat. That’s why we study it. If it was easy to understand we could lay it to the side.

  27. Marianne;

If I’m interpreting it correctly you hold to a mid-trib Rapture. I was excited to run across information that deals with the arguments of those that hold to that view.

“The mid-trib rapture concept believes that the church will be taken out in the exact middle of the Tribulation, at the point in time when the Ant-Christ is revealed.”

“This concept is based upon a statement in I Corinthians 15:52 which says that the Rapture will occur at the blowing of “The last Trumpet.” “Mid-Tribulation supporters then identify this trumpet with the seventh trumpet of the trumpet judgments in the book of Revelation.” “Since the blowing of the seventh trumpet is recorded n Revelation 11, the mid-point of the Tribulation, the conclusion is that the Rapture must occur in the middle of the Tribulation.

The last trumpet of I Corinthians 15 is blown for believers.

    I Thessalonians 4:15-17

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not precede those who are asleep.

For the “Lord” himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the “voice” of the archangel and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these word”.

The seven trumpets of Revelation 8,9,11 are sounded for unbelievers. The Revelation trumpets have no relevance for the church.

The trumpet of 8-11 are blown by Angels not the Lord.

The last trumpet of I Corinthians 15 is a trumpet for the righteous.

The last trumpet of the unrighteous is the one in Revelation 11.

God sounded the first trump when He gathered the Jews at Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:16) He will sound the last trump before He gathers those who become believers during the Tribulation.

    • It made more sense to me when Mark Biltz explained that the reference to the trumpets is the FEAST OF TRUMPETS. And then Marianne explained that the Feast of Trumpets, as stated above, is done with several blasts-1 shofar blow each day for 30 days to warn everyone of the upcoming day and that they had 30 days to reflect and repent…and then ON THE DAY, several shofar blasts are done to indicate the day had arrived. Therefore, on the LAST TRUMP is possibly what Revelations is referring to…maybe marianne can explain it better. But knowing that the reference to trumpets is referring to a jewish feast day makes better sense.

    • Kitti

I guess we have to go back to the definition of The Great Tribulation, and what happens in it and how long does it last?

Some say it is 7 years

some say it is 3 1/2 years, the time of Jacob’s trouble.

is Jacob’s trouble the first half or the second half of the 7 years, or somewhere in between?

      in this passage:

      2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

When does the man of sin reveal himself? at the beginning of some time period, or at the abomination?

Revelation 12 indicates there are believers around when Jews flee Jerusalem at the abomination. It says the “world” saves them from Satan’s “flood” poured out against the Jews. Later it mentions those that belong to Christ. I would assume the only ones in the world that would help the Jews are the Christians. So we seem to be around at that moment. But for how long, and what else is going on? It says the Jews are gone for 1260 days in the wilderness. So once we help them, do we leave? or do we have to stick around for the 1260 days. ?

Does this event occur the first half of 7 years, which is followed by the wrath of god, or is it the final 3 1/2 years of a 7 year period, which PRECEDES the time of wrath?

It can get confusing if you think hard enough.

I just believe that we will not be here for the wrath of God, because scripture says we are not appointed unto wrath.

If the believers are around during the 1260 days, then we are sheltered with the Jews, to some extent. But then the Revelation says saints are killed during the 5th seal. So, there will be some stress.

There also could be tribulation, or trouble, BEFORE the Great tribulation, and it might be hard to tell when the Great tribulation actually starts. Once the Mark of the Beast is enforced, no one will be able to live long without it, seeing we cannot even buy water to drink.

ALl I know is that I have to trust God. I hope to be delivered from all of it, but this is God’s decision.

  28. What would be the “SIGN of the Son of man in heaven,..”

a signal of some sort…always wondered about this one word “SIGN”

    • It’s cross I have no doubt; Sign is a symbolic representation of something, in this case of the Son of Man with hands stretched, now why are his hands stretched – either because he is crucified, or stretching arms in accepting mankind in lovekindness, or as a sign of bringing judgment and doom, all of it is true.

  29. I have heard it taught:

We need to look at the ‘WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD”, to interpret scripture.

    Psalm 40:7

Then I said, “Behold, I come. In the “VOLUME” of the “Book” it is written of me.

  30. Lyndsey;

I admit, I don’t always quote the right scripture at the right time.

    Matthew 5:23-24
“If therefore you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother and then come and present your offering.”

    THE RAPTURE ON ROSH HASHANA

There are important parallels between Jewish feasts and the fulfillment of Christ. For example the Passover is now celebrated as the Lord’s Supper. The Sabbath is now celebrated by the Resurrection.

    Some other parallels are:
    Pesach / Passover
Hag HaMatzah / Feast of Unleavened Bread
    Bikkurim / First Fruits
Shavout / Feast of Weeks (Pentecost)

Jewish tradition holds that Rosh Hashanah celebrates the anniversary of the creation of the world, a day when “God takes stock of all of His Creation,” which of course includes all of humanity. Translated from the Hebrew, Rosh Hashanah means “head of the year” – rosh means head, while hashanah means year. Jews believe that God’s judgment on this day determines the course of the coming year.

Rosh Hashanah is a Jewish festival in which most work ceases, just as on the weekly Sabbath. It’s celebrated both in joy and solemnity. During the daily prayer service a ram’s horn, or in the Hebrew, shofar, is sounded:

“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation. Ye shall do no servile work therein: but ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD.” (Leviticus 23:23-25)

God does not do things in vain, or without purpose. The Old Testament Holy Days were not just some sort of Divine make-work project to keep the Israelites busy while they were out wandering in the desert. All of the Old Testament Holy Days (Passover, Days of Unleavened Bread, The Feast of Weeks, The Feast of Trumpets, The Day of Atonement, The Festival of Tabernacles and the Last Day) were, and continue to be, living symbols of the stages of God’s Plan of Salvation for all humanity. Those events are now in progress, and true Christians are the manifestation of it.

In the Christian world, Rosh Hashanah is known as The Feast of Trumpets. Many Christians observe this festival for its Christian prophetic application – the Rapture of the Church.

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-53)

“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17)

All the Spring Feasts were fulfilled at Christ’s first coming. All the Fall Feasts picture the Second Advent, and the Feast of Trumpets is the first of the fall feasts, picturing the Rapture.

Now there are more feasts to be fulfilled with the second coming.

Yom Teruah (Rosh HaShanah) / Feast of Trumpets
The Rapture; the last trump; wedding of the Messiah; New Moon; Open Door
Yom Kippur / Day of Atonement
Sukkot / Feast of Tabernacles (Booths)

A special season known as ‘Teshuvah’ which in Hebrew means “to return or repent”, begins on the first day of the month of Elul and continues 40 days, ending with Yom Kippur. Thirty days into Teshuvah, on Tishrei 1, comes Rosh HaShanah. This begins a final ten-day period beginning on Rosh HaShanah and ending on Yom Kippur. These are known as the High Holy Days and as the Awesome Days. The sabbath that falls within this ten-day period is called ‘Shabbat Shuvah’, the Sabbath of Return. Five days after Yom Kippur is ‘Sukkot’, the Feast of Tabernacles. Teshuvah begins on Elul 1 and concludes on Tishrei 10, Yom Kippur. Each morning during the 30 days of the month of Elul, the trumpet (shofar) or ram’s horn is blown to warn the people to repent and return to God.

Rosh HaShanah is also referred to as ‘Yom Teruah’, the Day of the Sounding of the Shofar, or the Day of the Awakening Blast. On Yom Teruah, the Day of the Sounding of the Shofar, it is imperative for every person to hear the shofar.

Yom Teruah is the only festival that no man knows when exactly it will occur. This is due to the fact that it begins on the new moon. The new moon was sanctified when two witnesses see the new moon and attest to it before the Sanhedrin in the Temple.

This sanctification could happen during either of two days, depending on when the witnesses come. Since no one knew when the witnesses would come, no one knew when the Feast of Trumpets would start.

On the 30th of each month, the members of the High Court assembled in a courtyard in Jerusalem, where they waited to receive the testimony of two reliable witnesses. They then sanctified the new moon. The new moon is very difficult to see on the first day because it can be seen only about sunset, close to the sun, when the sun is traveling north. So, looking for a very slim faint crescent moon, which is very close to the sun, is a very difficult thing to do. If the moon’s crescent was not seen on the 30th day, the new moon was automatically celebrated on the 31st day.

For this reason, Yom Teruah is always celebrated for two days. These two days are celebrated as though it is just one long day of forty-eight hours. The reason that it is celebrated for two days is because if they waited to start the celebration until after the new moon had been sanctified, they would have missed half the celebration because the new moon can only be sanctified during daylight hours. The command seems to be that we know the season, but not the day or the hour (Matthew 24:32-36).

Yom Teruah, or the Feast of Trumpets, is the only feast that we do not know the day in which to keep it. Therefore, we have to be on the alert and watch for it.

Teruah means “an awakening blast”. A theme associated with Rosh.

HaShanah is the theme “to awake”. Teruah is also translated as “shout”.

The book of Isaiah, chapter 12, puts the shouting in the context of the thousand-year reign of Jesus. The Messianic era and shout is mentioned in Isaiah 44:23 and Zephaniah 3:14. The first coming of Christ is associated with a shout in Zechariah 9:9. The ultimate shout is the Rapture in First Thessalonians 4:16-17.

Whether it is by the blast of a shofar or the force of a supernatural shout, God’s goal is to awaken us. “…Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” – Ephesians 5:14.

The book of Ephesians has many references to Rosh HaShanah and the high Holy Days. For example, in Ephesians 4:30, being sealed unto the day of redemption refers to Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. God gave this festival to teach us that we will be judged on Rosh HaShanah and will be sealed unto the closing of the gates on Yom Kippur.

The theme of awakening from sleep is used throughout the Bible. It is found in John 11:11, Romans 13:11, Daniel 12:1-2 and Psalm 78:65.

The shofar was also blown at the temple to begin the Sabbath each week. There are two types of trumpets used in the Bible:

    1. The silver trumpet
    2. The shofar or ram’s horn

Each sabbath, two men with silver trumpets and a man with a shofar made three trumpet blasts twice during the day. On Rosh HaShanah, it is different. The shofar is the primary trumpet. On Rosh HaShanah, a shofar delivers the first blast, a silver trumpet the second, and then a shofar the third.

According to Leviticus 23:24 and Numbers 29:1, Rosh HaShanah is the day of the blowing of the trumpets.

“Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, in the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, an holy convocation.” – Leviticus 23:24

“And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.” – Numbers 29:1

The trumpet used for this purpose is the ram’s horn, not trumpets made of metal as in Numbers Chapter 10.

Another name for Rosh HaShanah is ‘Yom HaDin’, the Day of Judgment. The righteous are separated and will be with God. This is known to us as the Rapture. The wicked will face the wrath of God during the tribulation period.

The shofar blown on Rosh HaShanah is known as the last trump, which the apostle Paul mentioned in First Thessalonians 4:16-17. At this time, the believers in Christ will escape the tribulation on earth and will be taken to Heaven in the Rapture along with the righteous who had died before this time.

The gates of Heaven are opened on Rosh HaShanah so the righteous nation may enter (Isaiah 26:2, Psalm 118:19-20). Because the gates of Heaven are understood to be open on Rosh HaShanah, this is further evidence that the Rapture of the believers in Christ will take place on Rosh HaShanah.

One of the reasons for blowing the shofar is to proclaim the resurrection of the dead. The resurrection of the dead will take place on Rosh HaShanah.

In First Corinthians 15:52, the apostle Paul tells us that the resurrection of the dead will be “at the last trump.” Earlier in First Corinthians 15:14, he wrote that without the Lord Jesus rising from the dead, our faith is in vain.

We cannot go to the Book of Revelation and say that the voice of the seventh angel (Revelation 11:15) is the last trump. In the first century, the last trump (shofar) meant a specific day in the year. In Judaism, there are three trumpets that have a name. They are the first trump, the last trump, and the great trump. Each one of these trumpets indicates a specific day in the Jewish year. The first trump is blown on the Feast of Pentecost (Exodus 19:19).

It proclaimed that God had betrothed Himself to Israel. The last trump is synonymous with Rosh HaShanah, according to Theodore Gaster in his book, Festivals of the Jewish Year, in his chapter on Rosh HaShanah. Herman Kieval also states the same thing in his book, The High Holy Days in the chapter on the shofar. The great trumpet is blown on Yom Kippur, which will herald the return of Jesus back to the earth (Matthew 24:31).

The first and last trump relate to the two horns of the ram, which according to Jewish tradition, was caught in the thicket on Mount Moriah when Abraham was ready to slay Isaac and offer him up as a burnt offering. This ram became the substitute for Isaac even as Jesus became the substitute for us and provided life for us through His death.

Rabbi Eliezer tells us in Pirkei Avot, that the left horn (first trump) was blown on Mount Sinai, and its right horn (the last trump) will be blown to herald the coming of the Lord for His Church.

Isaiah 18:3 and First Thessalonians 4:13-18 speak of the resurrection of the dead. First Thessalonians chapter 5 continues with the day of the Lord and the birthpangs of the Messiah. The festivals will, beyond a shadow of a doubt, tell you that the resurrection of the dead precedes the time of Jacob’s trouble (the Tribulation). First Thessalonians 4:16-17 says that the dead in Christ will rise first, and that the catching away of the believers will immediately follow.

The term ‘rapture’ comes from the Greek word ‘harpazo’, which means “to seize, catch away, catch up, pluck, pull, take by force” (1 Thessalonians 4;17). Isaiah 57:1-2 speaks clearly of the resurrection of the dead, the taking of the believers, and the hiding of the believers from the indignation (the tribulation). Zephaniah 1:14-18 and 2:2-3 tells about the terrible times during the day of the Lord, the birthpangs of the Messiah, and issues a decree to repent and turn to God before that day to be hid from that time.

Psalm 27:5 says the righteous will be hid in the time of trouble. Paul in Second Thessalonians 2:1 tells us, “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto Him.” The phrase “gathering together” comes from the Greek word ‘episunagoge’, which means “an assembly”.

The Feast of Trumpets, through careful study depicts nothing less than the return of Jesus Christ for His Church at the last trump, just before God pours His wrath and judgment on a sinful and Christ rejecting world

    To summarize:

The Feast of Trumpets is when the “last trump” of the Rapture of 1 Cor. 15 is blown.

The Feast of Trumpets is known as the Wedding of the Messiah, and the Church is the Bride of Christ, and the Rapture is when the Church is caught up to heaven to be wed with Christ.

The Feast of Trumpets happens on the “new moon”, which is 29.5 days after the last one, meaning it might occur on the 29th or 30th day, nobody knows for sure.

The “Open Door” of the Rapture in Matt 25, and Rev 3, & Rev 4:1 is a symbol of the Feast of Trumpets. [Ezek 46:1] “Thus says the Lord GOD: The gate of the inner court that faces east shall be shut on the six working days; but on the sabbath day it shall be opened and on the day of the new moon it shall be opened.”

“Thus saith the Lord GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened.” (KJV)

We are told that the new moon and the Feasts of the Lord are a shadow of things to come in Col 2:16,17. Since the Feast of Trumpets is the only Feast of the Lord that falls on a new moon, we should take particular note.

There are seven Days of Awe in between the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement. These picture the seven years of tribulation. Atonement pictures Satan being defeated and cast away at the end of tribulation. If you add the two-day Trumpets Feast, and the Day of Atonement, the 7 Days of Awe are “ten days of tribulation” which might be referred to in Rev. 2:10.

In the Jewish Wedding, a marriage takes place over a period of time known as the “bridal week”. During the bridal week, the groom and bride have relations in the bridal chamber. At the end of the week, there is a marriage supper. Compare Judges 14, Rev. 19, and Genesis 29:22-28. This bridal week will be the tribulation week on earth, while the bride of Christ is in heaven.

In the Jewish Wedding, the groom comes for his bride without warning to take (seize / rapture) her away and into the bridal chamber for the bridal week at his father’s house.

The Feast of Trumpets is also known as the coronation of the Messiah, when he will start reigning as king, thus the beginning of the “Day of the Lord”, which includes the Tribulation.

  35. Marianne, you say that the Jews will flee Jerusalem. That is not correct.
Zechariah 14:2 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

    • gyod

True, but keep reading. the half that go into captivity are the enemies, the part saved are the Jews…..in verse 14, they are fighting …most likely the IDF…

The book of Revelation (ch 12) indicates that they flee to the wilderness….I would guess these are the civilians….esp women and children.

Would you agree to this view?

  36. Gyod, it, at first glance, APPEARS that way in Zechariah. But you have to ask yourself, what does the entire bible say? In the entire bible Jerusalem is invaded while people are saying peace..and we know for a fact that at that time, the Israeli women are raped and and the wives ravished. That invasion can only take place at the 3 1/2 year mark of Daniels final seven. On the other hand, Armageddon is a picture of the earth’s armies descending upon Jerusalem upon the Antichrist who is already there. Jesus said that it will be the Antichrist’s armies will have caused the people to flee 3 1/2 years before Armageddon.
    .
WHY? Because at that time the Islamic invaders will rape even pregnant women, which is why Jesus said for you to not even go down from your house to get your stuff, but to FLEE ASAP~!
That is the pattern throughout the OT. A false peace. And invasion by northern invaders led by the Antichrist.

So then what about that passage in Zechariah? I believe that the prophets saw visions and wrote what they saw. They described and re-described those same visions over and over again, and that were not always in billet point order:
    1,2,3,4.

So I believe that Zechariah was referring back to the fleeing from the Antichrist who invades at the 3 /12 year mark. It would not make sense if it was a fleeing from an invasion at the end, or at Armageddon. Israel has already fled, and the Antichrist will already be reigning in Jerusalem.

It is the only logical choice.

  37. To know the truth, you need only hear the words of Jesus. Here is how he will come: Matthew 24:26-27: “Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be”. Contemplate these words and meditate on them to know what they mean.

  38. Hey Marianne,
Was trying to find your post about hearing the shofar….couldn’t find it but this video by mark biltz reminded me of your hearing the shofar 😉

  39. Revisiting my FAV post of yours 🙂 I’ve shared it many times. ♥

  40. God is great in wisdom, love and forgiveness of his faithful. Christ is the manifestation of that greatness. Let no man take from Christ that which is God given. For God rules the cycles of the Moon, their Time Kept secrets and awakening Truths way beyond the reach of human meddling.

Return to the Son of God that which is God Given let no soul upon earth make claim of God’s Promise but Christ.

  41. Now I realized how blessed I am to really find your blog site. I feel excited reading the articles. Come Lord Y’shua, come!

  42. This is my favorite page 🙂

  43. I only fell upon this page because I was looking for a good picture of Heaven’s Gates.

But…Quit trying to figure out the end of times and try to figure out the times in which you live. You’re wasting your time trying to figure out the end of days, when you should be figuring out how to save the lost.

    Oh…and just a little scripture…

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Mathew 24:36

Lord Forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.

    • hi aarohn

True salvation should be the main priority. We do that also here, but on other pages. In pages like this, we just like to study the Word of God. 🙂

  44. Its a conundrum. On the one hand, No man can know the day nor hour, but we can know the signs of the end, which is why Jesus warned us Christians to look for signs. Jesus when see all these things come to pass then look up for your redemption draws nigh. LUKE 221. What signs is he talking about? The Antichrist invading Israel. The sun moon and stars being darkened. Jesus in Revelation warns Christians: I come like a thief when armageddon is about to take place! So no, we will not know the day nor hour, but we will know the general time to look up! But yes its alos good to save the lost too

    Alan Brooks

  45. Forgive me for ‘I’ do not know what I am doing. My Christian Brethren, my worldly desires (anger) got the best of me. Although the end of times could be near. I just wanted to emphasize our holiest of missions, to continue Christ’s work and be ambassadors of Him. Even if the end is near. Gather them while you can.

  46. it will be anti christ not christ because christ will come in 2nd to kill anti christ

  47. so take a care about that the first will lye and the christ veritable jesus will be back to solve problem.
