The sun spots are back

The solar activity of cycle 24 has been quiet since October, 2008. Finally, there are spots again. Will this cycle contribute to end time events?

Negative effects of solar activity can be due to the size of the solar flares, or the interaction of the plasma’s magnetic field on the earth’s magnetosphere.

At 0707 UTC on Sunday morning, solar cycle 24 sunspot group #11024 released a small C 2.7 class solar flare. This the first C class flare of solar cycle 24 and the first C class solar flare since December 11, 2008. There is also a small chance that a medium size M class solar flare could also occur.

The sunspot number for Sunday was 26. This is the highest Sunspot number of Cycle 24 thus far.

Solar Flare Classifications

A < B < C < M < X

Solar flares are classified as A, B, C, M or X according to the peak flux (in watts per square meter, W/m2) of 100 to 800 picometer X-rays near Earth, as measured on the GOES spacecraft.

Each class has a peak flux ten times greater than the preceding one, with X class flares having a peak flux of order 10-4 W/m2.

Within a class there is a linear scale from 1 to 9, so an X2 flare is twice as powerful as an X1 flare, and is four times more powerful than an M5 flare.

The more powerful M and X class flares are often associated with a variety of effects on the near-Earth space environment.

Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) and earth effects

A coronal mass ejection (CME) is an ejection of material from the solar corona, observed with a white-light coronagraph.

The material consists of plasma consisting primarily of electrons and protons (in addition to small quantities of heavier elements such as helium, oxygen, and iron), plus the entrained coronal magnetic field.

When the solar cloud reaches the Earth as an ICME (Interplanetary CME), it may disrupt the Earth’s magnetosphere, compressing it on the dayside and extending the nightside tail.

When the magnetosphere reconnects on the nightside, it creates trillions of watts of power which is directed back towards the Earth’s upper atmosphere.

This process can cause particularly strong aurora also known as the Northern Lights(in the Northern Hemisphere) and the Southern Lights(in the Southern Hemisphere).

CME events, along with solar flares, can disrupt radio transmissions, cause power outages (blackouts), and cause damage to satellites and electrical transmission lines.

For reasons not fully understood, CMEs in even-numbered solar cycles (like 24) tend to hit Earth with a leading edge that is magnetized north. Such a CME should open a breach and load the magnetosphere with plasma just before the storm gets underway. It’s the perfect sequence for a really big event.’”

NASA Releases New Predictions for Solar Cycle 24

Experts are evenly split between a strong and a weak cycle for 24.

At a meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco in December 2007, David Hathaway of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, along with colleague Robert Wilson, said that Solar Cycle 24 “looks like it’s going to be one of the most intense cycles since record-keeping began almost 400 years ago.”

Others think it might be one of the lowest and weakest since 1928.

So, who is right?

Back to the Bible

The passage about the 4^th angel given earlier occurs

during the time of wrath of God. When this vial is poured out, the sun scorches man with fire.

This means, by this time, Jacob’s trouble is over, and God is dealing with the unrepentant wicked.

By the 6^th bowl of wrath, the Battle of

Armageddon is commencing.

The peak of cycle 24 is from 2011,12 – 2015,16. If this has any correlation with end time events, the time of Jacob’s trouble would have to start soon, to be over by then.

Notice that the peak time is about 3 ½ – 4 years.

Or, maybe the solar cycle is not related to end time events, as it seems.

Checking the list of wars in history, there have always been wars

Although they can start anytime, and do, I noted that the initiation of bigger or high death rate wars seem to coincide with solar peaks times, for the most part.

911 happened in the last solar cycle peak.

If the Battle of Armageddon were to coincide with the next solar peak, then it would have to occur before 2016-7, before the cycle was in mid decline.

Or, maybe we get lucky, and can wait until the next solar cycle.
